The pizza is amazing! I'm so happy they finally have the same desserts as the Royal Oak location. There is nothing like the chocolate mousse! Tonight we got a large build our own pizza (extra light on the cheese) with pepperoni, crumbled sausage (much better than the slices sausage), roasted onions and mushrooms. had a craving for a sit-down, hot-out-of-the-oven thin-crust pizza, so we stopped by on a Saturday around 6 p.m. The restaurant was about half full, and we were greeted warmly and seated quickly. The space is nice and clean, with high-top tables seeming to offer the best experience. Service was just okay. Our server was kind but lacked engagement--he didn't offer suggestions and seemed like he wasn't particularly enthusiastic. We started with Bosco sticks, which were unfortunately undercooked and very doughy. However, the pizza made up for it. We each had an 11-inch with custom toppings, and it came out piping hot with a perfect crisp on the bottom and great flavor. Dave Portnoy gave one of Crispelli's locations a 7.1, and for the Clarkston area, I'd say it's the best option for dine-in thin and crispy pizza. read more

This place was packed on a Thursday! Had a 20 minute wait ( 6:30) They offer booth seating, table top, long tables and a bar. I didn't see a patio. Service was prompt and friendly. The softer lighting and old world picture decor was fun. Shared a small Margherita pizza. The cheese on it was so delicious! Had a crispy crust and could easily be split between two people who aren't starving. Had a serving of two Bosco sticks too. read more

We get the same thing every time. White pizza pie with whole garlic cloves & WILD MUSHROOMS. The wood fired pizza oven can both be seen and smelled. We also get the Michigan salad. Always ask for less beacon crumbs and more lettuce. The salad toppings are very generous. The ambiance is better than the Berkley one on Woodward. Nice decor with both table and bench seating. I come to Crispelli's always for their thin crust Pizza and salads both of which are very good. This restaurant specializes in the use of a large stone fired oven that cooks their pizzas at very high temperature (700 degrees F) that produces thin crust pizza's with a beautiful chewy crust that is nicely browned on the underside with hot melted cheese and perfectly cooked toppings on the top and the signature slightly charred crust typical of this type of oven which I truly do love. Relative to their pizza's, there are numerous "Gourmet" pizza's to choose from on their menu along with made to order pizza's. Common denominator with all the pizza's is their use of fresh ingredients where my Pepperoni Margherita had tomato sauce, fresh Mozzarella, basil, extra virgin olive oil and of course pepperoni. The Crispelli salad I ordered, which is one of their 5 signature salads, had fresh ingredients to include house blended lettuce, garbanzo beans, cucumber, carrot, tomato, black olive, parmesan cheese all lightly topped with a red wine vinaigrette. Very tasty. Overall one of the better pizza restaurants in the area and one that needs to be experienced to be appreciated, especially if you are a thin crust fan as I am. read more

Not sure what was going on, but their service tonight was downright awful and even the food which is normally amazing seemed maybe a little "off". Ordered clam chowder, never received and told when we asked that they were out. Server NEVER checked in after we placed our order. We had to chase her down to get our bill. read more

Super disappointed in this Crispelli's location. We've been to the other locations many times and always had great food but this was not the case at the Clarkson location. To begin the hostess seemed very confused. We asked for a high chair and she never brought it, we had to go get it ourselves. Then she did not bring a children's menu (we had a 2.5 yr old with us) and had to go ask for that. Next we meet our server who never told us her name and who seemed beyind angry. She was super abrasive with us and the table next to us from the start, not sure if it was because we were the 2 tables who had kids in her section but man she was not friendly. After placing our orders we had to flag her down because we never got a drink for the little one. The kids food came out about 15 mins before the rest of the food normal they ask if you want it that way, not assume. The food was just ok. The gluten free pizza was the worst I've had in a long time, so in the future I will stick with a salad and gf sandwich. We were charged $2.25 for tiny cups of ranch which we were not warned about and seem insane. I can buy a bottle of hidden valley for that. Our server never asked us how the food was and seemed very eager to get us to leave. I am really not sure what her problem was but she made for an uncomfortable dinner. read more

I love this Italian pizza place. Its a super clean and well staffed restaurant and a excellent atmosphere for superb Italian food. We got a Pepperoni and basil deep dish pizza with epi bread and Minestrone soup. Everything is five stars at this restaurant. Lots of flavor and veggies in the soup. One of the few pizzas I have had when you want to eat the crust. Excellent small casing pepperoni, a great sauce. Get ya a pie from there.

Pros: Pizza Chicken parm Bread Cons: none really 4 years I've been living in Clarkston and I'm so bummed this is my first time having Crispellis. We had a cheese pizza and added minced garlic to it. It was killer. Nice, airy, light, and packed with flavor. The same can be said for the fresh bread. The chicken parm was one big thin breast over a bed of spaghetti. Chicken was awesome and pasta nice and starchy. Marinara sauce was pretty pedestrian though. I really look forward to coming back and exploring the menu more. If you're looking for pizza in the area this is easily your best bet! read more

We have been customers and fans of the West Bloomfield location for years and were very eager to try this location. It was fantastic. While I am not sure if they changed how the WB business is run, but over there you pay first then take a seat and the food is brought out to you minus the bar items. Here, like a traditional sit-down meal, they seat you and a server takes your order. We tried about of their cocktails. The PBJ martini was delightful and tasted exactly as advertised. Chilled and flavorful, like a sandwich in drink form. I also got the spiced Sangria on recommendation of the server. I was quite disappointed in that one. It was Cab forward with no taste of the spice, cranberry or brandy. Honestly, I decided not to complain so I just drank it. I would not get it again, but the drink prices were very good. We also tried a Bells Kalamazoo stout in the bottle, which was good. Nice variety of drinks. The entire menu is very enticing, but we went with our old standby, a Detroit style pizza with roasted garlic and chicken and a round with spinach. Both tasted so good, the quality and taste are there at this location, we were very impressed. I also prefer having a server at an establishment like this, it makes it easier if you want more drinks, dessert, or the ability to order more without getting back in line. I do not know if the other locations still have the gelato, but I would love to see them add that and some more of their bakery items. I have been to the Royal Oak bakery and their stuff is top notch. It would be marvelous to not have to drive out there and get it closer to home. I had the prosciutto pizza. I couldn't put my finger on it what was missing until I read the menu description properly, there was no tomato sauce. My fault. I glanced at menu and ordered. We got a deep dish Detroit style (Jets style) pizza. Very good! I had the privilege of tasting the chicken club. One bite and it was out of sight. We arrived on a Friyay night around 5:15 and the place was already packed. I had a few martinis of the same kind and they all came out different. The food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time and it was delicious! I'll definitely return to try something else. The service was pretty slow but at least friendly. Every time we're in town, we order multiple quiches to go to serve them at a later date. Always fresh, flakey crust and freeze beautifully!

Quite disappointed in our food. The Caesar salad's were particularly off. The lettuce was wilted and the dressing was watery a bit of a sour, almost spoiled tinge to it. The chicken parmesan was average at best, and tasted like something you may get at everyone's favorite chain Italian restaurant. The chicken was dry and the sauce lacked favor. The bosco sticks were ok, unremarkable, but fine. The PROSCIUTTO Pizza left much to be desired. The large chunks of garlic overpowered the rest of the ingredients. "Average," is about the nicest thing I can say about it. Though this experience at Crispelli's put a bad taste in our mouths (LITERALLY), I do hope to give them another shot in the future. And when that day comes, we can only hope that my next review will be a great story of redemption. read more

Crispellis on Main St. and 24 In Clarkston is the latest iteration of the Crispellis chain. Now I'm usually chain phobic when it comes to pizza as the usual MO is a cheese and bread bomb served by the ton usually suitable for kids birthday parties. But this is no chain pizza. Crispellis is great pizza, in a great space with great help. The dining room is bright and open, oddly devoid of customers on a sunny lunchtime Michigan Tuesday. Our server was super attentive and our orders were taken and ready very quickly. The bar looked inviting although we didn't partake today. Save that for another review. Now the pizza. My guest had the wild mushroom that got high marks, loaded with shrooms and garlic! I had my standard sausage and onion which was super. Both pies were thin and crispy and cooked nicely. We ordered the Detroit Style Pizza, epi bread and Spaghetti and Meatball. Pizza was on par with Buddy's, salad was really good with the dressing, and the ranch went well with the epi bread.
