    Jumbo cookie
    Oralia D.

Very nice people working the register. I really enjoyed my sticky bun and we also ordered a jumbo cookie, I believe it was cranberry, white chocolate? Definitely get there early, as options are more limited once you pass the morning hours. It is also a take out style bakery, however there is a nice outdoor seated patio next to Monkey King where you can enjoy your goodies.

This was my first time at this particular bakery here in the Alameda and it was after we had a delicious waffle breakfast!! Perhaps I'm used to the underground mall in New York with all of their decadent pastries in the Chelsea marketplace in New York, but this particular spot in Alameda was supposed to be one of the best pastries here on this cute little island. Perhaps it's just a cute little island aesthetics, but the pastries seemed rather traditional. The Yuzu tart was tasty and had good flavor, it was also around 2 PM on a Sunday, so maybe all the good pastries were gone. Service was great and very helpful, and another large family came in to the pastry shop as we were leaving. Maybe I'll try it next time and see if they have different seasonal pastries.

Custom cakes have always been great, but I FINALLY found the BEST cake! Order the Passionfruit Chantilly - add fresh raspberries and strawberries for an extra charge - so worth it. Light, airy, not too sweet and just the right amount of curd and fresh berries to balance everything out. It was a showstopper - kids to adults raved. I have only had the WF Berry Chantilly once, but I think folks think this is better. The presentation is more detailed and precise. Seems a bit less sweet also.

1/2 sheet passionfruit chantilly with strawberries

I placed an order for a birthday cake; a 1/2 sheet passionfruit chantilly cake with strawberries and Happy Birthday Shehla written. The owner is exceptional with her customer service and the cake was amazing. Would 100% come again especially because we had issues initially and they gave us 100% store credit as well as the owner coming to my home to fix the cake up and bringing cookies. I've never experienced service like this ever. I was pleasantly surprised.

This is for my TGTG(Toogoodtogo) order. Although I have been here in the past, learning that Crispian is proactive about lessening food waste makes me love them even more! I arrived around 2:45PM on Sunday to pick up my order. The parking, although a bit small, was okay in my Honda Civic. However, it may be tight for a bigger car. I walked into the store as another customer let me know they were giving out baguettes. Sweet! There were two employees working in the front, and as soon as I walked up, I let them know I was here for my TGTG order. They have bags already made and set up behind the counter. In addition they had day of baguettes in front too. The guy handed me my bag, which consisted of 3 pastries. I got: - Raspberry fruit Danish (sweet, good either tea) - Jalapeño cheddar Danish(Nice spice and kick) - Sweet cream type Danish I also got a baguette not part of the TGTG All delicious! I did save some for the next day to heat up for breakfast.

The delicious half-sheet chocolate cake made by Crispian Bakery. It was a hit at the office party.

Ordered a half-sheet chocolate cake for my husband's office party (a joint birthday celebration) at a Bay Area hospital. It turned out fantastic according to my hubs who said that everyone gave the cake rave reviews! There wasn't much leftover cake. ;) My experience with this bakery was top notch--from ordering the cake on short notice to the ease of my hub's pick-up in the AM before his commute to work. I had jumped in last minute to help him out since he was in the midst of a big work week. I appreciated connecting with friendly staff who were very service-oriented and gave me confidence that this rush order would go smoothly . Note to Crispian Bakery: Thanks so much!! My hubs told me that his colleagues asked where he got the cake and he gladly gave you props! =))

Okay, finally time for an update. Cut and pasted from their website "Crispian Bakery is a small-batch bakery producing French-inspired American breads and pastry for the San Francisco Bay Area." I attended an event today and wanted to bring some baked goods from Alameda's best bakeries. Quality/Quantity - Stone Fruit Pie - One of today's seasonal pies; almost bought both signature pies. This was a hit!! Out of all the desserts brought to the event, this was the BEST. See Feel Good Bakery Yelp for the other dessert we brought to the event. Atmosphere - Small take-away location. Plenty of street parking, I believe they share the small parking lot in the back...? Service - Good, very patient with us as we wanted to get the best dessert for our event. Price - $35. Expensive, but that is the cost for quality. Worth it as well, as it earned me "street credit" for bringing the best dessert to the event. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2015 at this location; I know you did farmers markets prior.

This bakery is so good. Their cream puff is the best and I always have to get one when we are near by. I decided to order a birthday cake for my husband's birthday. The chocolate mousse cake and not only was it fucking fantastic, but really affordable! I can't believe it. Definitely coming here for my birthday as well!

This place makes exceptional quality pastries! Definitely will be back to try more stuff.

    Apple turnover
    Lorena N.

I ordered the raspberry cream puff, apple turnover, and jalapeño cheddar croissant for around 16 dollars. The employee that helped me out was super nice and helpful when ordering. The pastries were huge bigger than the size of my palm except the cream puff, however the cream puff was super delicious and creamy. It felt like I was eating ice cream. The jalapeños the croissant were spicy compared to others I've tried. I'm saving the apple turnover for later but I'm pretty sure it will be delicious like everything else.

I opted for the matcha croissant, blackberry cream cheese danish, passionfruit bombolini, and vanilla bombolini, and all were amazing and not too sweet. The topper was the ube latte that I got along with everything. Overall, a great pit stop if you're in the area or if you just want to come here because of this place. Would love to try it as a brekky sandwich, but we didn't want to ruin our appetites for festival food lunch..the brekky menu looked amazing including biscuits & gravy, churro French toast sticks, lemon zest French toast, brekky pizza, and the pork & jam (crispy pulled pork, house made blackberry jam, fried egg, honey-buttermilk biscuit with country fried taters...sounds delish!!) They also have a beautiful selection of baked goods, pretzels, packaged breads to-go, lunch AND dinner options including soups, salads, pizzas, kiddo menu, sandwiches, sliders, and more. I didn't give myself any expectations because sometimes food that are trending are overhyped. But these desserts were really good, even the flavors I typically do not prefer. The prices are pretty up there - our order was roughly $110. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I get them again? Only on special occasions. The flavors we got are below (ranked from my personal fave to least fave): 1. Pistachio - I'm probably biased towards this since I always like anything pistachio flavored. 2. Strawberry - A little tart, sweet, and the shell is just so good. 3. Mango - If you're a mango lover, this might be your favorite. I typically do not get mango-flavored desserts, but this one was good. For it to make it to my Top 3 says a lot. 4. Raspberry - I forgot why but I remember liking this lol. 5. Avocado - This one was shocking. I do not like anything avocado-flavored. I was hesitant on trying this but it was actually delicious. Very mellow and creamy. 6. Blueberry - For blueberry fans, this might not be for you. I do not like blueberries but this one was edible enough for me because the blueberry taste was not that strong. 7. Pomegranate - This was pretty bland. It made me think what pomegranate really tasted like because I couldn't really remember from this dessert. 8. Lemon - Most disappointing. There was something odd about its tartness. Not your typical lemon-flavored items. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. You can see the staff work on the dessert behind the counter. The staff assisting us was very patient because we were very indecisive on what to get, but we ultimately got one of everything. I want to emphasize that none of the desserts are bad. My ranking is just based on personal faves and I'm pretty picky. Highly recommend!
