The space is roomy with couches in the back, and plenty of people were working or studying, so it has a relaxed, productive vibe. I tried their lavender latte, oat milk latte (extra hot), and of course their drip coffee because you cannot judge a coffee shop without trying the drip. The drip was excellent, rich, well balanced, and tasted very fresh, clearly brewed fresh. The latte was just as good, creamy with proper foam and a smooth lavender flavor that did not overpower the coffee. The only small hiccup was that we were told the drinks would be brought to our table, but after waiting a bit I went up to grab them myself. I may have misheard, so it was not a big deal. Overall a great experience, comfortable atmosphere, plenty of seating, and genuinely solid coffee. I stopped in after lunch this time but will definitely be back to try their food next time.

They personally reached…read moreout to explain that they recently received guidance from the health department not to accept outside cups due to cross-contamination concerns, and I really appreciated them taking the time to explain that. They also shared that the employee helping me was in her first week, which gave helpful context to the situation. As a kind gesture, they sent me a $10 gift card, which I thought was very thoughtful. When I came back in to use it, they recognized my name from the situation and took the time to talk with me in person and explain everything again. That really meant a lot and showed how much they care about their customers. Customer service and communication go a long way, and I'm grateful for the way they handled everything. I'm looking forward to continuing to support them. Old review: Melby's has really great drinks and the atmosphere is honestly one of the reasons I keep going back. It's a cozy spot and the coffee itself is consistently good. That said, the customer service can be hit or miss. The employees often come across as a bit unpleasant, which takes away from the experience. One thing that's especially frustrating is their refusal to allow personal cups. Almost every other coffee shop I visit is happy to accommodate this, and it doesn't require much effort, many places simply set the cup on the counter and pour the drink without even touching it. It's a small thing, but it makes a difference for customers who are trying to reduce waste or just prefer using their own cup. I really do like Melby's drinks and vibe, but improving the customer service and being a little more flexible with simple requests like personal cups would make the experience much better.

Shh, don't tell the theater that I said this, stop here for treats to sneak in your bag before the movie!!! The owners are absolutely sweet! They helped us out by making Pokeball cake-pops for my kiddo for his last birthday; for a very reasonable price; so we will likely come to them again for birthday goodies! For walk in they have awesomely decorated sugar cookies that can change week to week, cake balls, macarons, etc. They have also started having some drink options that I don't remember them having previously. The ladies at the table next to us asked if they could turn the volume down on the TV right about their head as she said "we came for tea, not the game!" With that said, it would have made sense to move the tea parties to the back of the restaurant away from all the noise. As for the tea, apparently they ran with everything is bigger in Texas, because I've never had finger sandwiches like these. The finger sandwiches were generously sized, the scones were superb, and the jam with clotted cream was a perfect accompaniment. The mousse was a decadent treat, and the offer of wine at the end was an added nice touch. Seriously, portions alone ensured that you didn't leave hungry. I loved that there variety of tea pots & cups, the tea variety was basic (earl, breakfast, raspberry, spearmint and I think there was one more) however the two I tried - breakfast and raspberry - were delicious. I love a good cucumber sandwich however my gripe is these cucumbers tasted like they were brined and had more of a pickle taste than what you expect from a traditional sandwich. I don't eat salmon but the other ladies said it was good and unfortunately I was only able to take a small bite of the chicken as there was something in it that didn't agree with me, but once again the other ladies loved it. It wasn't just messy from heavy traffic--it was genuinely dirty, smelled like a porta-potty, and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. That was a huge letdown. We sat on the patio to watch the World Cup match, and none of the outdoor fans were working, which made it incredibly uncomfortable. It also seemed like the restaurant was understaffed and unprepared for the event. Considering they've hosted soccer watch parties before, I expected them to be much more organized. There was a wristband system in place, so while it was busy, it wasn't overflowing with people. Our waitress was very kind and did her best, so I don't blame her. Unfortunately, every bill at our table was incorrect, and we ended up just Venmoing each other to sort it out. Drinks also took a very long time to arrive, even though we were ordering simple items like beer. The most concerning part of the experience was that three people in our group became extremely sick afterward. The only thing they all had in common was that they each ordered the fish and chips. I can't say for certain what caused it, but it was concerning enough to mention. Overall, this visit was a major disappointment compared to our previous experiences. I hope management addresses the cleanliness issues, improves staffing and preparation for major events, and looks into the food quality so future guests have a much better experience.

There was a sizeable chicken breast. Not dry but also not too flavorful by itself but that's okay. The pesto really delivered on the flavor with a savory, nutty, and slightly herbal flavor. In the future, I'd love to try a one of their many drinks - non-alcoholic and alcoholic included!

Charcuterie & wine is available but I haven't ordered any of those. A fun atmosphere, along the wall are built in seats with chairs on the opposite end of the table. Other seating includes table with benches (beware you can't move the benches to get in & out, if I'm wrong I apologize), then some a few tables with chairs by the windows, on the other side they do have benches facing each other with tables in between (great for groups!), & beautiful outdoor patio seating. They have a small upstairs with chairs & use wine barrels as tables. Clever! Customer service is okay, let me say that every person there has been extremely pleasant but out of the four times I've been there, only once I didn't have an issue. They seem to enough their jobs & working together, which is a green flag for any place, but sometimes they get distracted. One time I stood there & staff was chatting in the corner, a good amount of time passed before anyone noticed me. Another time, they just forgot my drink (it was the only thing in my order) & there were no other order left... the group was again chatting away with with each other, then during another visit they forgot my croissant. Each time they did apologize, but three out of four times aren't good odds. I probably won't frequent this location as much, but I will stop by once in awhile because their drinks are worth it.
