My dad and I came here to browse their bible section. Barnes and Nobles is pricey, so I was expecting a high cost for bibles. While browsing their bible section I noticed they had a sale going on. In addition there were sales throughout the store. I ended up getting a She Reads Truth Bible in Rose Gold (CSB translation) for a significantly cheaper price than normal ($10 or so off). For the past couple of months I have enjoyed reading the Bible, the passages are easier to understand, there's space to practice bible journaling or jot down any thoughts. There are plenty of devotionals, beautiful hand lettering of scripture and maps/timelines of the passages. SheReadsTruth is a Bible I recommend for women.

It has been WAY too long since I've been to B&N. What a wonderful experience it was getting to browse through the shelves and actually pick up the book and smell the "newness." You just can't do that when you shop online. This location is well-stocked, orderly and very inviting to the customers. I loved browsing the different displays that were set up throughout the store to pique the consumer's interest. I bought a book then headed over to the in-house Starbucks for a hot cup of coffee, sit back and relax. Even though the in-house cafe is a Starbucks, they're not part of the Starbucks chain so you can't use your Starbucks card and earn "stars." It wasn't a big deal, the visit to the store was worth the little bit of inconvenience. Note to me, don't wait so long so come back!

I know that in the age of Amazon, pre-orders and E-books, brick and mortar retail booksellers may be a thing id the past. However, I love waiting for my favorite authors to release a book, and to feel the pages in my hands right there in the store. Sometimes, I hear a podcast or TED Talk and just want to read the book right away. In those moments, I am so grateful for B&N. You can call ahead and they will hold a book for you, which is great! Don't sleep on the gift area either. They have so many great and unique items, sure to please. So, some great recent finds to end my review: The Serious Goose by Jimmy Kimmel The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek Hamilton (in the style of a graphic novel) Various book quote magnets There Will Be No Miracles Here by Casey Gerald A great place to study, grab some Starbucks or spend some time!

Con: I don't know if its just me but B&N always feels overpriced. So I rarely buy anything here. Pro: Like Elizabeth N. stated, great place to stroll through/hang out. The employees are attentive when you need help, but leave you alone for the most part. (Perfect for me) Free WiFi. Great late night location. One of the few retail locations open till 10-11 PM.

I went today and experienced excellent customer service from both the book saleswoman I spoke to and the Starbucks barista. Wish I had jotted down their names, but both were very pleasant and helpful. The store was very large, clean, and organized. I love their huge selection of books, music, toys, games, and video. One of the better Barnes & Noble's I have been to.

Biggest issue is price, most titles under $30 are about 20-40% more expensive than shops close by (Doc's, Josey, CD Trader) and the common, lower priced stuff can be found at just about every Half Price books for, well, half the price. Collectible record prices are quite high also, often at the top range of Discogs. I've seen the same records in this section for over a year so it looks like I'm not the only one not buying at these prices. Also, if I can get it shipped to my door for the same price, why am I coming here? I've also noticed that condition on used records is not as high as elsewhere, and records noted with "condition" issues here are ones that are questionable to even sell (warped/thrashed records). With so many other stores close by in DFW with more selection and better prices, I don't find this shop to be high on my list, mainly because I just never leave with anything. Really friendly staff though and a surprisingly deep selection given the size. Price and standards have got to be improved here.

Directly next door is Vintage Freak. Around the corner, where a witch is painted on the fence, is a witches store, but my review today is about Horror Freak. Goodness, again. Walking in, the place is a homage to horror in general, with a heavy emphasis on the 1980s. I, of course, went in seeking some Freddy Krueger paraphernalia, and was not disappointed. As most horror places go, this store was pretty Jason heavy, but no complaints there either. "What do they even sell?" you ask. Action figures, DVDs, stickers, Funko's, decor, dolls, T-shirts, and most importantly, local art. As I was looking through a really unique box of horror art by a local artist named Brad Albright, I found a wonderful piece of art from one of my all time favorites, The Twilight Zone, for only $30. Even better - It's art that comes with 3-D glasses. 3D Twilight Zone art?!?! What?!? On the way out I had to snag a sticker too. I wanted one of the legit shirts too, but I decided to hold off as an excuse to go back. If you have a little time to spare, check this place out. Save some time to look.at Vintage Freak too. You won't regret it.

My kid got a Leatherface funko pop for her birthday, she loves all things horror. We will definitely be back!
