Books are back! I know they never went anywhere but it does seem like there's a book resurgence happening, right? It's all that "fairy-smut" that's so popular, hahah. No judgement from me! Happy New Years Eve! Despite all the coverage of doom and gloom, chocolate still exists in the form of a hot, creamy mocha at Barnes & Nobles. Good morning. And how did you start the very last morning on planet Earth, in the year two thousand twenty-three? Next year, I will celebrate 60 years of this planet twirling. So, this day is a passage for me. Decided to keep breakfast simple, but with beautiful flavors. I love the calm, unrushed pace of Barnes & Nobles' bookstore. I love to consume books, so why not consume a crusty croissant sammie, with sausage, a fried egg, and coffee as well? I have yet to go to a stand-alone Starbucks. I only go to Starbucks at B&N. I guess I just don't want to become an addict willing to wait in a car line when that is just more traffic. Here, you get face-to-face, human interaction. No exhaust fumes. Seems as if the world is revolving just a tad slower, without gravity shooting us into outer space. Just the right pace, just the right place to have a moment to enjoy just being alive. Could you use a moment like this? Sure you could. Here's to all of us finding our center. Turn off the news. Find your mini-zen place as I have. My dad and I came here to browse their bible section. Barnes and Nobles is pricey, so I was expecting a high cost for bibles. While browsing their bible section I noticed they had a sale going on. In addition there were sales throughout the store. I ended up getting a She Reads Truth Bible in Rose Gold (CSB translation) for a significantly cheaper price than normal ($10 or so off). For the past couple of months I have enjoyed reading the Bible, the passages are easier to understand, there's space to practice bible journaling or jot down any thoughts. There are plenty of devotionals, beautiful hand lettering of scripture and maps/timelines of the passages. SheReadsTruth is a Bible I recommend for women. read more

Something is wrong here. I had a few good visits when the right people were on duty. During my last visit, the bartistas I likes were gone and they were replaced by a creepy male teenager who didn't seem to want to serve me. Another creepy teenage girl was manning the main cash register. The store was almost entirely empty. Perhaps this is all an indication that the store is having financial troubles, if the place is a ghost town and they can't or won't hold on to any staff that are worth employing. read more

It has been WAY too long since I've been to B&N. What a wonderful experience it was getting to browse through the shelves and actually pick up the book and smell the "newness." You just can't do that when you shop online. This location is well-stocked, orderly and very inviting to the customers. I loved browsing the different displays that were set up throughout the store to pique the consumer's interest. I bought a book then headed over to the in-house Starbucks for a hot cup of coffee, sit back and relax. Even though the in-house cafe is a Starbucks, they're not part of the Starbucks chain so you can't use your Starbucks card and earn "stars." It wasn't a big deal, the visit to the store was worth the little bit of inconvenience. Note to me, don't wait so long so come back! read more

I know that in the age of Amazon, pre-orders and E-books, brick and mortar retail booksellers may be a thing id the past. However, I love waiting for my favorite authors to release a book, and to feel the pages in my hands right there in the store. Sometimes, I hear a podcast or TED Talk and just want to read the book right away. In those moments, I am so grateful for B&N. You can call ahead and they will hold a book for you, which is great! Don't sleep on the gift area either. They have so many great and unique items, sure to please. Its really hard for Barnes & Noble to mess up customer service as well as have a lack of both quantity and quality within their resources. This location by Northeast Mall is no exception, and I have no issues with it. It meets my expectations in its presentation, price, coffee, and customer service. One thing of note is that I am very glad to see that the front register area is sufficiently staffed during the busy hours of the weekend in order to accommodate the sporadic rush of customers. If I had one thing to complain about, it would be that the parking area out front is a little tight. For some reason, the designers measured the parking areas a little tighter than usual. I dunno. Nonetheless, a pretty good venue. read more

This review is strictly from a non-buyer perspective. I love going to Barnes & Noble (or ANY bookstore in general) to browse around, relax, and just read. Every now and then when I'm out of ideas on how to spend an evening (either with my niece&nephew, or bf) I'll come to Barnes & Noble and choose out a few books and magazines to read for the day. I'll find a cozy couch or a seat in the cafe area, and just explore the texts. It's a great way to pass the time, and just have fun. Typically, though, if I need books and have some time to wait then I'll buy them online. If I absolutely need a book ASAP then I'll purchase them at either Barnes & Noble or Borders Bookstore.. either or. But yes, Barnes&Noble, great pass time! read more

I have come to love and appreciate this location after they so abruptly closed the Downtown Fort Worth location. I have been coming to this location for a good 9 years now. The staff is always knowledgeable and courteous, I have never come across anyone unpleasant. When I come to this location it's to browse through books or have some of their yummy drinks and sandwiches in B&N café. I highly recommend you guys order the Green Tea Frap or eating the awesome cup of Chili I had over the weekend, it left me wanting more. The selection of books is magazines are great, and the location can be noisy at times, but if needed I'm sure you could find a comfy quiet spot where you can take your mind off things and just read. read more

We were trying to read with our children in the kids section. One of which is autistic and screeches and squeals when he is excited. The worker came over to the kids section to tell us he was being too loud and needed to keep it down. We decided to just immediately leave instead because who wants to be in a kids section where kids are not allowed to get excited and enjoy books. I got a nookcolor a week or so ago and I had a decent experience at this B&N. I usually deal with friendlier people. This loacation seemed a bit lacking. I also wanted help picking a case. I finally decided on a grey canvas case. Today I came back in and my canvas case was just not holding up like it should have. The inside was looking ragged which made no sense at all since I am pretty ocd about my things. I wanted to exchange, but the people wouldn't let me...I ended up spending 30 or so more dollars on a better case, but I was humiliated by the customer service. They were asking me why I should get an exchange for having dirtied my product... -_- I was pretty embarrassed since this was from normal wear...sitting in my night stand? I think for now on I will go to Best Buy for my Nook accessories then deal with this store again. read more

We love coming to barnes and noble to look at what new books and such have come in because I always want to pick up the book and read it a little before I buy it. A lot of time our library doesn't have the brand new children's book and its hit and miss if half price has it. Amazon and other stores usually always has better prices because B & N sells everything at publishers price. so we come up here to look at things before we decide to get it unless we've gotten a gift card or a coupon. They have the discount membership. Honestly for us paying for a discount membership wouldn't pay for itself because the last time I got something shipped from them it took forever and honestly the in store discount we can get for free by just usually getting it on amazon or at half price books. We used my mother in laws until she let it expire. We love the smell of the starbucks and the deserts they offer, the starbucks in B & N are the only ones I will buy at. read more

I mainly come here because the Tarrant County Chess Club meets here every Tuesday evening (from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm). The coffee and desserts are always nice to enjoy after a hard fought chess battle. I've also bought a few books, toys, gifts, etc. The store is always clean, well lit, organized, and the employees are friendly and helpful. I've ending up saving on enough things to justify paying the annual fee for the Barnes and Noble membership card. If you're looking for a great place to play chess on a Tuesday evening, make it a point to stop by, but if you're looking for peace and quiet for a Tuesday evening you may need to look elsewhere because the bughouse players get a bit rowdy sometimes. read more

Of course they are over priced because they are a major chain. The employees are helpful and friendly. That being said...The choice of board games are limited, but the choice of books well makes up for it. They have some great music as well. I REALLY don't like how late this store opens- 10AM??? Come on! A lot of people start their day much earlier than that- 10AM is honestly just stupid. I haven't been wowed by this particular location, especially in the bargain sections. I find the same stuff in those sections pretty much each time I go, which is disappointing. The staff is fine and I haven't had any issues with them. I just really wish they would open earlier! read more

I recently purchased a Nook Tablet from this store. The staff members were very helpful, I received a free e-book with my purchase, and they were able to send it to my daughter instead of me, because I thought my grandson would enjoy it. They also ordered a book for me online because it is not yet available as an e-book. I got it with free shipping. They also told me about their free classes on Saturday mornings on using the Nook Tablet. We were traveling, so have not yet attended a class, but plan to this weekend.
