The establishment feels like a home turned into a restaurant. There's about 6 tables, if you enter through the front door and by the counter. If you enter through the back, you have space for about 50 people. Plenty of tables with a backyard feel. Covered so you won't get wet and music playing. They offer generous portions. Their cheese filled pies (pastel) that I would call empanadas, were very tasty, deep fried. The mogochinche tea was refreshing with dried peaches and other herbs. The Linaza water was warm and flavorful. I saw some people add lemon juice to theirs. There was a variety of Bolivian dishes that can probably feed two people. I wasn't aware of such generous portions so ended up over ordering. The chicharron was tasty. Wish a sauce or salad was included. A plain baked potato and some corn. The dish felt too dry and needs some veggies or sauce to accompany the corn and potato. The picante mixto had a peanut sauce pasta that was okay, but the chicken was very dry. The asado boliviano was very generous too, with twobig pieces of meat, lots of veggies in the salad. The service was pretty slow and it might be due to the very limited number of staff. Also, parking is the most challenging part with few spots and a bit complicated street parking nearby. read more

Best anticuchos in the dmv!! It's a VERYYY tiny place with maybe only 4 tables insides so definitely get take out. A little pricey also but for the quality of the anticucho I'm willing to spend. I haven't tried any other dish yet but will be coming back for more. read more

Extremely authentic, highly recommend the anticuchos (heart) and cebada drink. Sopa de Mani is also fantastic, but sometimes only available on weekends. Very little English so be prepared to brush up on your Spanish :) read more

Hace muchos años fui la primera vez y me pareció un Lugar más que restaurant una casa que le hacían funcionar de restaurant, la higiene no es buena, en repetidas veces encontré pelos en mi comida, sé que hablé con la manager del restaurant lo único que hizo fue decirme que la siguiente vez me daría un descuento. la mesera en ese tiempo en pocas palabras te obligaba a dejar tip si pagabas en efectivo, automáticamente se agarraba tu cambio y decía es mi Tip. Esta última vez que fui después de muchos años ordené mi comida para llevar ya que no quería comer ahí y la señora al recoger mi comida me dijo tú lo haces para no dejar Tip verdad !!!! eso me chocó de verdad y definitivamente no vuelvo a ir a ese restaurante, no te pueden obligar a dejar un Tip, si es que no se lo merecen, aparte ellos mismos en el cheque te cobran desde el 20% para arriba, y si pides un una cajita para llevar algo de comida que sobró en tu plato , te cobran adicional ya que en otros restaurantes no funciona así, básicamente cobran de todo y de nada. read more

A friend of mine introduced me to this place, on Douglass road and tucked away in between residential houses. Very cute but extremely small and no space to eat inside or wait - definitely can't adhere to social distancing. My friend doesn't like their other meals. But I had the api with cheese and sugar and it was delicious- fried crispy savory and sweet, the purple corn drink was interesting but not something I would probably get again. read more

This is a cute little place! The food and prices are decent. I had the Tacumanas, which are similar to Saltenas or Empanadas. It was filled with chicken, peas, egg, potato, and some spices. I also had the sweet peach tea drink, which is called a Mogochinche. The staff seemed nice, too! Unfortunately the menu had no English translations, and I wish they would get more Bolivian drinks and more Bolivian sodas instead of the sodas that they have now, or at least bring in more natural sodas. If you didn't know what you were looking for, you would miss this place completely. From the outside, it looks like a residential house with colorful decorations. Once you're inside, the seating area is extremely small so going on the first day of the year- you're expected to wait until a table frees up. But wait! There is a "basement" area that you can walk to from the outside that has a lot more seating, only unfortunate thing about that is- you'll be forgotten and service is much slower. Had a small lunch with one of the girls and ordered the Api with freshly made cheese bread. The Api came out piping hot as well as the cheese bread covered in a sheet of powdered sugar. This is a great place to eat Bolivian food, portions are great and flavorful food. Food is always fresh. The place is very small but on weekends they have the patio open which is great. I would definitely recommend sopa de mani, pichón, khawi and others they are all good. The only problem would be when you order to pick up the portions are smaller so better to eat in there to enjoy the full flavor. read more

The api con pasteles is really good. It's a bit on the pricey end compared to other places but you really get a bang for your buck here. The pasteles are huge and the api is always fresh. It's my favorite place for breakfast. read more

This is another Bolivian restaurant in the northern Va area, the food is good, could be better.. Located in a rented house right off Hillwood avenue, it's good for carry-out, since it's a small house and there is little room to eat there. Customer service is ok, wish they could make it look more professional.. the kitchen is behind a "shower" curtain... which is always closed and a lady pops out once you are there to take your order. As of right now there are no menu's.. or take out menus for that matter. Not fancy...but it could certainly look nicer.. the average dinner is about $ 12.00 They are big on carb's lots of rice/potatoes...many of these small restaurants need to focus on quality not quantity of food. I wish they would come up with smaller portions and lower prices! Bolivian food is pretty good... but they are not big on salads, wish they would incorporate more veggies in their foods. read more

This place is great Bolivian food and the portions are huge. The pasteles and api are delicious and so is the silpancho. I've had better pique macho but not in Virgina so I would recommend it as well if you've got a craving for it, the meat in it is so much better than some other VA restaurants even if the fries are kinda poorly done. The tripa here is also really good, fried really well with none of the off tastes that you can sometimes get with tripa. read more

The Lunch Special was delicious! We had noodle soup with delicate spicing, bone in steak and potato, and it was yummy. We also had meatballs and rice, some sort of roll with mole and a sweet red zinger tea. Quite a bargain, too. read more

3.5 Stars. Good food, but over priced compared to nearby Bolivian restaurants. The dishes are mainly carbs as most Bolivian foods; I don't like overpaying for rice. Wish they had salteñas daily. read more
