Amazing Peruvian food. This place has plenty of seating and great service. Make sure you come here with an appetite otherwise you'll be leaving with plenty of leftovers (which is a good thing in my book). Their plates come with heavy portions and are definitely worth the price. Some dishes I believe you could split between two or more people. I've come here with my family and friends multiple times because their food is delicious. My go to is always the cau cau a la criolla because it's one of the few places that serves it. It's always seasoned perfectly and the texture is amazing. I've also tried their lomo saltado and jalea de mariscos which don't disappoint either. Every dish comes out with so much flavour. Their horchata is perfectly sweet as well. It might be overwhelming at first since they have a lot of options on their menu, but trust me anything you pick will be good.

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember! It's always so nostalgic. The food is delicious and it comes out pretty fast. Unfortunately due to Covid they have their salad bar closed-hoping that in the future it can be opened again but for now I understand the safety measures they are taking. Our waitress was great, she's been working there for over 10 years! Everyone is very friendly and attentive, they are always willing to fulfill any request. P.S during the weekends they have a DJ! Ambience goes from dinner casual to party time

Lomo Saltado is THE BEST here! My partner and I picked up here 2 weekends in a row cause we loveeeeee it. Absolutely great service too, though when you walk in you gotta get someone's attention if they're busy. Will definitely continue to Order from here! Insta @ SpicyAivy

This was catered for my work. This was delicious. The flavors were powerful and rich. The Lomo Saltado, now that was a dish for the ages. The rolls, funnily enough, might be the best I have ever had of breads. I've never been to Peru, but if the food tastes like this, I've got to book a flight!

We ordered delivery from this place couple times and we had some bad experiences but tonight was the worst. I don't know if it's because it's monday, but we ordered couple dishes, the whole chicken was so dry, no flavor and pink on in the inside. The Lomo Saltado was so dry chewy meat & no flavor. The Steak & Cheese was so much cheap cheese inside with less meat and the bread was so soggy, the yucca fries was so hard like a rock that we couldn't even chew on it. It was such a dissappointment, we spent like 80 bucks and it went all in the trash! I don't recommend this place, save your money and go to Pisco Y Nazca in Dc!

I came to use the 15% off that yelp had offered when checking in and the restaurant turned it down. Really not happy with the false advertising.

I got the ceviche mixto to go and wow it was phenomenal! I was craving ceviche after going to Mexico but the Peruvian ceviche was great. Only bad thing about this place is it closes early. Otherwise pick up and called and ordering was very easy. It tastes fresh and got a neat kick to it. Very nice

My server Edlow provided excellent service as well as the rest of the Trio team. I tried the bison steak, and my wife got the beef bolognese pasta. The bison has cumin as a seasoning so it may taste a bit spicy, but it wasn't overwhelming. We also tried several sides as well. All the food here was delicious. The interior was clean and on the cooler side. There is a large bar area with seating there. Outdoor seating is also available. I will definitely be back in the future.

Something is very off with the (lack of) protein quality at the Falls Church location. The head-on shrimp were smallish - some were 21-25 count, some were 26-30 count, and all had an off-putting *green* poop line. The clams were inedible and tiny. Half of the clams were missing from their shells. They shouldn't be sold. When I showed the poor quality of the clams to the server, they offered a 20% discount - clearly they don't get it. What keeps me loyal to the brand is their signature Hot N Juicy Special sauce (mod: extra garlic). No other Viet Cajun (even in Houston or wherever) comes close to the depth and complexity of the Hot N Juicy Special sauce. For now, the winning move is to order a some sausage in a cup with Hot N Juicy Special medium sauce w/extra garlic TO GO, and sautée it with a bag of defrosted Costco head-on 16-20 count shrimp, or a few dozen live Cherrystone clams from HMart. There is so much potential here. The sauce is boss. Solve your protein problem!

Having grown up with fine Vietnamese cuisine thanks to Bethesda's Green Papaya, my dining companion and I had felt over a decade of void (of exceptional Viet cuisine, in general) since its closing nearly 14.5 years ago. Recommended to us by one of our students who volunteers as a community organizer for Eden Center and other Vietnamese-owned small businesses, NUE with its incredible first impression has us beyond thrilled to have found a spiritual successor to our dear Green Papaya (albeit a bit more modern in style and even fancier). Since it was our first time visiting the Founder's Row mall, it took us a moment to get our bearings (the biggest parking entrance is on the southern side of the development but there are elevators that lead to the main area further northwest along Broad Street (including NUE, Ellie Bird, and Fish Taco) as well as the QR Code-based parking system. After scanning the QR code for parking, it was not too difficult to utilize it (NUE provides a code for 2 hours validated parking). Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by our server Joshua, who took great care of us throughout our celebration lunch and is very knowledgeable about the food as well as the restaurant group. Also, kudos Kyung at NUE's parent group (Happy Endings Hospitality) for acting super promptly (just over an hour later on a Saturday!) to an query I came across regarding their membership rewards. As for the restaurant's ambiance, it is decorated with a beautiful mural and the artistic direction reflective of Co-Owner Tuyet Nhi Le's heritage (her grandfather who was a famous painter). Upon sitting down and being served our requested hot water+lemons, we could notice the attention to little details (metal chopstick holder, bamboo lids atop our hot water glass, and later, the onyx-handled knife for the Fried Fluke). Speaking of the fish, our favorite celebration entree at Green Papaya was a Fried Flounder, and wouldn't you know it, one of NEV's "Iconic & Shareable" entrees is their Whole Fried Fluke with a bouquet of Fresh Herbs, Rice Noodle Rolls, and Pineapple Nước Chấm! This alone got us to slog through I-495 traffic across the river (congested even on a weekend for lunch!). In addition to the quality of ingredients (fish and herbs), Executive Chef Daniel Lê's thoughtful touches really stand out. For the fish, he debones the fluke's central bone while retaining its structure to make nearly the entire fish edible. As for the execution, the fish was prepared with optimal salinity, a delicate hand to let the innate flavors stand out, and superb texture (especially loved the crunchy dorsal fins, collar, and tail fin that were easy to eat completely). The abundance of fresh mint, Thai Basil, cilantro, and red leaf lettuce added a refreshing contrast together with the dynamic dipping sauce (slightly viscous to cling to the rice noodles and herbs), plump limes, and savory toppings (fried garlic-peanuts & fried scallion+oil). At $98, it represented a good value as the outstanding quality was matched by generous portion, satisfying both of our appetites (we purposefully ate very light yesterday) and left us with just enough room for dessert. To conclude our absolutely delectable meal were the Tropical Chè (~fruit parfait with coconut milk tapioca pudding, pineapple-mango-passion fruit sorbet, Thai Basil Seeds, mango, lychees) and the birthday treat of Fried Sweet Yuca with Salted Caramel Ice Cream and Waffle Feuilletine. The duo offered a lovely contrast of temperature (former being ~ fancy Halo Halo, latter being warm and comforting ~more substantial Mochi Donut-meets-steak cut fries), textures (tender, crunchy, QQ, and crisp) and flavors (floral, fruity, neutral-savory, salty)! To top it off, they included a Birthday Card featuring their signature artwork and a generous gift to welcome us back for our next visit! All in all, NUE is what we had been starving for the nearly past 15 years: a fine Viet restaurant that delivers fantastic food; warm, attentive, and welcoming service; classy ambiance for a special occasions, entertaining VIP guests, or just a fancy meal to treat yourself! With Joy by Seven Reasons having closed earlier this year, we had lost a dear favorite that starred fancy Fried Fish (Dorade) in a tropical culinary backdrop (Pan-Latin). NUE also fills that void. Now, if only NUE open a second location in the Bethesda-Rockville area like Joy!

Do not come expecting a solid seafood dinner. We came here after a nearby event. There was live music in the very sizable back lot area. People were actually up and dancing and having a great time. The vibes were stellar. I don't know if I would be into tbis place in the winter if I had to eat inside because the inside is kind of dingey, but outside in the summer is pretty paradisiacal. I did notice that they were doing karaoke in a weird little side room and it did not seem crowded on a Saturday night so that might be worth checking out. Servers were also all super nice. Pretty sure we entered the wrong way and kind of just let ourselves in through the back lot area and then we had no idea where to go to find a host(ess). So we asked the first server we could find where to go and she went "oh I can seat you" and grabbed two menus. Excellent. She also gave us our choice of wherever. The place is huge. Our assigned server was also nice and really knew the menu, which is not small. The menu had a ton of options including some really interesting tofu options and I had a hard time picking so I got excited. Also very customizable where you can choose your preparation. The beer list was not exactly artisinal...a lot of like...michelob ultra. And they had those island slushy kind of drinks. So at first I was like...this is my new weekend hangout. Then our drinks came. They were small and in little plastic cups. Wuhoh. Then our food came. I should have known it wouldn't be fresh. The price wasa little *too* good. When I asked about the catch of the day it was like four different things. I ended up with a buffalo grouper sandwich (grouper was one of the four things). I have had a fresh buffalo grouper sandwich in Clearwater before and that was in 2019 and I still remember it 7 years later. This buffalo grouper sandwich? Oh no. First of all it was this thin, flat battered fried cutlet thing. The breading absorbed the buffalo sauce so I couldn't taste it very much though they did bring me a lot of Bleu cheese dressing. The fish was bad. I bit into it and it tasted fishy and it was dry. Honestly if I hadn't been super hungry I would have just not eaten it. On top of that, I paid an extra dollar to upgrade from fries to hushpuppies. These were legit hushpuppies, but hushpuppies are small and how many did they bring me? 5. Are you kidding? Again, in Florida these are brought free by the basket. They're literally just fried up balls of corn meal. I think that may have offended me more than the bad fish. My husband went witb BBQ pulled chicken and fries and said both were good. So. Here are my thoughts. Would I come here again in the summer for fun vibes and good service? Yes. Would I set low expectations for my food and drink? Yes. Would I probably just order a softdrink and stick to something simple they can't screw up like a quesadilla and fries? Yeeeeeeeah.

I really enjoyed my meal! The preparation of the fish was perfect. The skin was crispy, lightly seasoned just like in Greece. It's the closest thing to Greek food I've had here, at least in regards to the dish. The lamb shank was alright aromas and flavor could've been a little stronger for the red sauce. I was also happy that none of the seafood had a fishy taste to it. They also deboned the branzino. The fish also had a lot of meat so I felt as though I got my moneys worth. As for the grilled octopus it was a little tough in the fatty areas, but overall the flavor and quality was great! The feta psiti was so so, I had it in Greece and it wasn't even close. The dough was a square and it wasn't flaky and delicious like I had. About three weeks ago, I left a 5-star review for Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar because, until…read morerecently, it had become one of my family's go-to seafood spots due to its convenience and generally good food. Before that, our preferred restaurant had always been Crazy Crab, where we consistently had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, after today, I will not be returning to Hook & Reel. I brought family members who had just driven in from Massachusetts and planned to treat them to dinner. There were four of us dining, and while three planned to order the All-You-Can-Eat option, one person preferred ordering directly from the regular menu. After we had already ordered drinks, we were informed by the manager, Vivian, that either everyone at the table had to order All-You-Can-Eat, or everyone had to order from the regular menu. There was no flexibility, no customer consideration, and no appreciation shown for the fact that we are repeat customers who have spent a significant amount of money there over time. In fact, several friends and members of our church began dining there based on our recommendation. What was most disappointing was not simply the policy itself, but the way the situation was handled. We were made to feel as though the restaurant viewed us as people trying to "game the system" over a few shrimp or crab legs, rather than loyal customers bringing business and referrals into the establishment. To make matters worse, this was communicated only after our drink orders had already been placed. Rather than create a scene, we simply paid for our drinks and left. We immediately went to Crazy Crab, where the experience could not have been more different. Staff members remembered us even though it had been months since our last visit. We were welcomed warmly, treated with dignity and respect, and received exceptional service from beginning to end. We gladly spent over $230 there instead. As a retired Army veteran, retired federal executive, business owner, and someone who frequently hosts family, friends, church members, and professional guests at restaurants, customer experience matters greatly to me. One poor interaction can cost a business far more than a single table. It can impact repeat business, referrals, community reputation, and future opportunities. From a business perspective, this experience should concern ownership. In today's economy, restaurants do not simply compete on food -- they compete on customer experience, relationships, and reputation. One inflexible interaction from management did not just lose a single dinner sale; it likely lost repeat visits, family gatherings, business meals, church referrals, and positive word-of-mouth within the local community. Strong businesses empower managers to protect both policy and customer relationships. Unfortunately, in this situation, customer loyalty and hospitality were sacrificed over what appeared to be concern about one person potentially sharing food. That decision ultimately cost the restaurant far more than it protected. If you want to dine somewhere where hospitality, consistency, and customer appreciation still matter, I would strongly recommend Crazy Crab. I truly hope Hook & Reel reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future, because no loyal customer should leave feeling disrespected after choosing to spend their hard-earned money at your establishment.
