My Roxy died from a heart attack while we were on our way for a camping trip away from home. We took her to the animal ER in Amarillo and had to put her to sleep. It was a Friday night and we had driven from Houston. We left Roxy at the hospital, and we didn't want her body in our car with our other dog all the way back to Houston. The hospital told us about Critter Camp. We called and talked with Cody. He picked Roxy up from the hospital, cremated her, and shipped her ashes and her collar (we had forgotten to take it) to us. I was referred by a co-worker. Initially, he recommended the high-end pet resorts and spas. I inquired where his dog was boarded and he said didn't have all the frills he thought I was l looking for. I love my dog and like the peace of mind in knowing he's taken care of. High-end pet resorts doesn't always equate to great care. Jack had been to Critter Camp twice and I have no complaints. Great customer service and I know they love pets by their actions. For example, last weekend when the storms were bad, they stayed late calm the dogs. Highly recommend this place. read more

We had just moved here from Washington, so my dog was fairly unkept, as moving was my priority these few months and he wasn't brushed often. He was fairly matted behind his ears. I knew they would not be able to make him as pretty as usual and may even have to shave him... Which they did. However, I did not expect what I got. He looked horrible. They didn't groom has face much at all. It was totally botched up. They cut both his ears. He dried when walking on my wood floor because they got his nails too short. And they charged me an extra $15 mat fee, even though they shaves him and didn't have a thing to brush out. I will never return there again. read more

Dropped my dog off for a night so the boyfriend & I could attend the Texas Outdoor Musical while staying at Palo Duro Canyon. I'm pretty sure my dog didn't want to leave, the staff was incredibly friendly, they showed me some cute videos of my pup they had posted on Facebook. We recently boarded two of our big pups to take a 4 day trip to NM and we are very pleased with the care our dogs received. We frequent the bark park during the warmer months of the year to let our 3 dogs play in the pool they have and socialize with other dogs. The park itself is always clean & has cool activities for the dogs to do. Every so often the staff members from across the street come over & say hello to the pups. They're always happy to greet all the dogs! Naturally l, when the time came & we needed a pet boarding service we immediately decided we would go with critter camp! Setting them up to board was easy & fast. They have an online app to watch your pups hang out while you're away and the shampoo they use to bathe the pups leaves them smelling clean & fresh and ready to come home :) When we picked up our 2 dogs they hardly noticed we had arrived which to me is a good sign! I think my two spoiled rotties had a good time & were definitely well cared for. Boarded my girls here several times. Used grooming services as well. My girls always comeback happy and healthy. Their website to watch my pets when boarding is the only complaint. It doesn't scan the entire kennel areas and I have to call and ask that my pets are put in an area I can see on their cameras. Also I would like a better smelling shampoo when groomed as they smell very medicine-like. read more

We have used Critter Camp for years to board our German Shepherd while we are out of town. Even if it has been many months the staff still remembers our dog. He can be stubborn but they are happy to work with him and love on him. I trust him being safe and well cared for while with them. I love that you can view the animals on the camera, it helps with peace of mind or if you just miss your pet. Recently we took our dog for a bath and tick treatment and they did great with him.
