Based on reviews, I was a bit worried that I may have jumped the gun. But we were more concerned about the squirrels possibly chewing wires and causing much more damage so we schedule them as quickly as we could. I work from home so I was present during the time the representative came and did the work on the house looking for and fixing all possible accesses into and around the house. The gentleman spent from 11:30am -6pm (a few short water breaks) filling and closing up holes and gaps big and small. (House is average size) He attached a contraption that allows the critters to exit the attic but then they are unable to re-enter. Because of this, there most likely will not be any critters to actually trap within the attic (where we heard the noises). Then a few days later, live traps were set around the perimeter of the house and traps were set in the attic. They will check them each day for five days. So far we do not hear noises in the attic so I think the mitigation is working. I have been happy with communication and the representatives being easy to talk to or contact about questions or concerns. read more

OPINION OF A DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER I hired Critter Control here in Santa Fe about a month ago while I was out of town to address a family of raccoons damaging my property. I was fine with their high rates provided they delivered on their promises, but the experience has been extremely disappointing. Beyond allegedly closing a few small openings--which I haven't been able to verify--their service yielded zero results. They claimed they set traps on numerous occasions with no success, and repeatedly canceled scheduled appointments. Upon returning home this week (first week of August 2026), I bought a basic trap from the local Tractor Supply store and caught raccoons three nights in a row with a 100% success rate. If a total layman can resolve the issue in three days, a professional company charging premium fees should easily be able to do the same. Given their constant cancellations and total lack of results while I was away, I feel taken advantage of and cannot recommend their services. read more

I wish they would do anything they said they would. And almost impossible to reach by phone. When you call the local number it goes to the national phone center. (This is after being on hold for 20 minutes). When someone, a tech, picks up the phone they are polite but no follow through. The last response to my review was to answer the phone but they never call. I have to set aside 25 minutes to get a hold of them and then nothing. Unbelievable. read more

Be careful. The company charges your credit card without your knowledge. I paid half up front. The service was done in a timely manner but still waiting for someone to confirm that it's complete. To date no one has called. The cost of removal is fair but sealing the vents and sanitizing is not worth the cost. The worst was when I was charged in the middle of the service with no warning. I had to call the company and they recognized the error and reversed the charge. Then my card was charged again without warning or my approval. I called the company and it's been over 24 hours without any resolution to date. It's not only poor customer service to charge a credit card without approval, but to not even notify the customer to let them know the job was done is not appropriate. I would not recommend this company until they get their billing and follow up in order. The job cost $1700 and no animals were caught. read more

Can't even leave a star. This was by far the worse money Ive ever spent in my life. I had a skunk burrow under my house and spray. Critter Control sent me an estimate for $1900 to build an exclusion barrier around the house where critters could in, trap, and then sanitize. Well they set built the exclusion and set a trap, but closed it for the weekend. Then nobody showed up for days to reopen it. I had to call over and over to get someone to come and then they only reopened it for three nights. NOWHERE in the contract did it say they only set the trap for four nights and charge you even if they don't trap the skunk. Well they finally came back and took the trap and sprayed a little tiny bottle of sanitization. the guy was there for ten min. most sanitizes. They left and I struggled with the skunk for months after. and the sanitization didnt do anything at all. Now I have to hire another company to come in and santize correctly for $700. I am so unhappy with this company. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY with this corporation who clearly cares nothing about its clients but ripping them off. UPDATE: I originally said this company was great at taking money and abysmal at providing any service or even basic competence. Now, I have to say: They can't even collect money. My check, provided prior to purported "services," has not been deposited. The company is sending me invoices for the amount already paid. I've called every week in an effort to get them to negotiate the check. Each of my calls is met with, "Oh, we will cash that check today!" Then a new excuse. I contacted Critter Control to deal with an ongoing mice problem. I had concerns about the poison they used and was seeking more info about the gaps that the technician, Jared, had identified in the roof. I found out after weeks of calling and emailing Jared that he was reassigned to another service area, and that's apparently why he just stopped responding to me. I made about ten phone calls to Critter Control's general line because the traps were not working. After months of this, I received a call from the regional manager apologizing for the lack of communication. I requested to cancel service and be refunded for the charges made during this time. She responded by directing me to yet another "manager". After leaving messages with this new manager without a response, I was again charged for service that month. This happened two more times after I repeatedly called them to cancel service. I called my credit card company to directly to dispute the charges and requested the signed letters of service. Had been using them for 2 years, no problem. Then the Georgia corporation bought them out (and I hear 2 or 3 others since then). They must have shifted to a tight time system because often it was down to a 15" quickie, with no reporting of what was going on (% eaten, # of new/old holes, varmints etc.); the hands on personal touch we used to have. So we decided to end services - and was charged full fee for just picking up their bait-stations!! Good riddance. read more

I was disappointed. They promised to come out and set traps and remove traps several times a week, but every week I had to call because no one had showed up. There was one roof rat who had escaped the box and lay near my driveway, rotting away, for two weeks. After the final day when they blocked all entrances into the house, they locked at least one roof rat inside the walls and my home smelled like carrion death for two weeks as it slowly rotted away. And today I discovered they charged my credit card $2400 TWICE. read more

We had a serious skunk issue so we called them to come on Wednesday, they set traps on Thursday and we immediately caught one and then they refused to come until Monday so the animal was incredibly distressed and dehydrated and was going to die. I contacted Critter Control and they were extremely responsive when I yet had a contract for service. $4000+ later and a yearly contract for monthly service follow-ups, I cannot get a call back on a particular issue. Instead I get routed to their headquarters in GA. I left several messages for call backs, of which I received NONE. I called again in the evening, got their answering service agent who said she would forward my message to the Santa Fe office but as yet have received no calls. It is ridiculous to be using a local service but can only reach the national office and cannot reach anyone locally. I would find another provider for these services. read more

Don't waste your money. I paid over $300 and was promised a weekly report and maintenance on traps. It's been over 6 months, they abandoned the traps, they are still on my property, I am still have the same critter issues and they never gave me a report. I called at least 4 times and was told that the field person would submit a report and never did. Big rip-off! Big disappointment! read more

After hiring them to complete a rodent exclusion which reportedly carried a 12 month guarantee, I have been unable to contact them when the rodents returned within 7 months. Completely unreliable. I wish I could give no stars. I have a pack rat infestation in my garage. I called them to trap and then clean out my garage. They showed up to trap but inconsistently, and were not very thorough when emptying traps. I booked four separate dates over a 6 month period for them to come and empty my garage, sanitize everything and put it back. They never showed up once or even called. This job will take 2-3 days so I had cleared my calendar each time. Don't use them. read more

I've used critter control monthly for 3 years for mice and ant service. They used to be great, but they've recently gone to a national model. You can no longer call the Santa Fe office directly, you have to talk to operators in Georgia to coordinate your local service. I've been calling since Monday (it's now Friday) and I can't get anyone to call me back. You're constantly on hold and 3 of my calls have been answered by their answering service during normal business hours. read more

I called critter control because I kept finding mouse droppings in my house, during the inspection Dominic not only found out how mice were getting inside but also found a HUGE rat nest under one of my trees. He was very informative and knowledgeable of all the critters in my area. For a reasonable price he offered to "rodent proof" my house. I agreed. Now months later I haven't seen sign of mice, I didn't think it could be done! I will recommend critter control and especially Dominic to anyone with mice, this guy knows his stuff! read more
