Dear Jennifer or whomever is responding to reviews - I don't use my real name here. I speak for those tenants who just leave at the end of their lease, rather than write a public review. That this is a fairly inexpensive property is no reason to stay. There is shoddy customer service from both the leasing and maintenance office. The package room is a mess. Packages are lost and you can't find anything on a Sunday or late Monday because no one is organizing the room. Oh, glad to see the ceiling tiles were replaced in the garage from all the leaks. I have been living at Longview Apartments in Waltham for over a year now. Every time I completed a service request on Longview's internet portal, I have received excellent and prompt service. We've loved living at Longview Place -- from Jenna and the leasing group, Scott and the service team, to the concierge staff, everyone has been beyond friendly, professional, and accommodating. The apartments are renovated and are beautifully done, and the facilities and grounds are very well maintained, which we really appreciate given we have a dog that we take out often! And the location is fantastic -- we've regularly walked to the restaurants on Moody Street as they start to reopen. Highly recommend! read more

For those interested in a concierge, there hasn't been one since before Christmas 2021. The package room can get messy as the only time it gets straightened out is when the leasing staff comes in first thing to do so. Never thought I'd miss the concierge, but here we are. I lost the lottery when it came to my neighbors. New neighbor keeps dropping something on a regular basis and shakes the apartment. The only plus here is the location TBH. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I definitely would. The prices are garbage and they fail to tell you that they will re run your credit every time you re new a lease. They are supposed be in contact with the credit bureau on whether you've been paying your rent on time and they don't care if you have, they end up not reporting it ( I know a family this happened too as well ) Not many people clean up after their dogs messes and most people bring in dogs that are aggressive towards other dogs. I lived here for a year and it was miserable. The staff does not listen to anything, they basically tell you they can't do anything for you when you have a complaint... Every single time. If you were looking for sleep in your bedroom, forget it. The walls are so paper thin that I could hear everything from the next apartment and the neighbors(not all of them, just the ones living next to me) were inconsiderate as to the time of night they started yelling/arguing. Also, we asked about storage space, but turned the offer down for more storage, and they ended up charging us for 10 months for storage space we never had! It was a terrible place for us to live. I do not understand or agree with the negative reviews posted about Longview. My experience has been nothing but excellent. I moved here in June 2016. The leasing office staff (Nancy in particular) were helpful at every stage -- from completing the application to signing the lease to arranging for move-in day. The concierge staff is also exemplary -- they receive packages and promptly inform me about the delivery, they will accept major deliveries (like furniture) as long as you inform them in advance, and they offer rolling carts to move heavier items. When I moved in I learned that there was a loading dock for residents so heavy/bulky items could be moved from truck or roof right onto a platform and into the elevator. I have a large one-bedroom with patio. Everyone who visits me comments about how beautiful the apartment is as well as the building and grounds. I looked at a bunch of places in this area. I wanted to be near Moody Street -- so considered Cronin's Landing and the Merc on Moody. In my opinion, neither holds a candle to Longview in terms of comfort, amenities and value. The walls are not paper-thin, as one reviewer commented. I have never heard a peep from my neighbors. The fitness center is small but more than enough for 99% of us weekend warriors. The location is unbeatable -- walking distance to Moody and Main streets and a short drive to the Pike and 128. I could not be happier about my decision to rent at Longview. read more

The Most unprofessional and unethical staff at the leasing center when i was trying to sign a lease with them . Firstly you never get an appointment with the leasing office as they don't receive calls and then you have the call center who say they have set you up with an appointment but when you turn up to the leasing office you have to hear the front desk brood and give you are in trouble as you don't have an appointment (happened to me twice) The play on your vanity and increase the rent every single day knowing that you are hooked to book the place . Never trust these employees at the leasing office (presently working) who tel you that they will get back to you by the evening to follow up and finish up the paper work but u never get a call and you will end up getting a mail saying the "rent is increased again by xx$ , when would you come down to sign it ?" The apartments themselves are nice (with the exception of the large, extremely heavy window pane that fell out and almost severely injured me on one occasion). Amenities are good and they are pet-friendly, although they require that you walk dogs to a designated spot and there was frequently broken glass littering that walkway, which was alarming to us as dog owners. Another point to be aware of: They charge $100 pet rent per month, but that money is not applied toward the cost of pet damages upon move-out. Over the course of a year, we paid $1,200 in pet rent, then were charged several hundred dollars more upon move-out for pet damage to the carpet. The reason I am not recommending Longview is that the office staff ranges from merely inconsistent to woefully incompetent, and on several occasions we had to scramble around to fix mistakes that had been made by the staff but that they were conveniently "unable" to assist in rectifying. Our particular unit was misrepresented, and we found upon move-in that several promised amenities were not, in fact, to be provided although we had been told while visiting the complex that all two-bedroom units had them. For this reason, if you do move in, I would recommend getting any and all communication in writing. After move-out, we dealt with two separate occasions on which the sheer incompetence and unwillingness to help of the office staff resulted in a serious inconvenience, and potential financial cost, to us. In neither case did we receive an apology or acknowledgment of Longview's culpability, or any assistance in rectifying the situation. Love this place! My boyfriend and I moved into a one-bedroom apartment and everything was brand new in the apartment. The best thing is a kitchen. If you like bright kitchens, then this is definitely for you. It felt like home right after we came in inside our new home. Another great thing is a walk-in closet! If you always struggling with where to put your stuff, this walk-in closet has enough space for two. This apartment complex has great parking options. You can park your car in the garage or outside. As well as, there are economy parking places available, if you do not want to pay for parking space, there are enough street parking spots. There is a beautiful BBQ area, where you can meet friends. A great gym, it is clean and everything you may need. It has even showers! A small dog park also available but to be honest I never saw anyone over there. As I reflect over the past two years living at Longview Place Apartments I can not say enough about how much I've enjoying stay. And as I'm about to move out of state I catch myself and think of how I'll miss my home here and how much l'm reminded how excellent the staff is who work there. The hospitality the staff provided made it a truly welcoming place to call home. Lauren, Dan and the rest of the staff go out of their way providing an extra level of care and make the place so much more than just an apartment. The area grounds are always well maintained - a true sign the grounds crew take pride in their work. Interior spaces are clean and kept orderly, and the front desk staff are welcoming and cheerful. The valve I've received is remarkable. My sixth floor unit with balcony has an incredible views of the Charles River, the Watch Factory, and the Boston skyline. I opted for the covered parking yet snow removal in the open parking areas was always immediate and thorough. And now with the remodeling efforts in full swing the exteriors will be refreshed. Added value for sure. Longview Place is close to so many great restaurants and immediately accessible to great walking and cycling areas. The location was perfect for access to the treats of Waltham and a short walk to two different commuter rail stations. We've been here since May, so I feel that I can now write a review about our experience so far. I'm not sure why the ratings aren't strong, but here are my thoughts. Pros: -Application process: We moved from out of state, so we only had one weekend to view properties before choosing a community. It was easy to work with them over the phone and online, and we were kept up to date through moving day. -Ease of moving: We used their loading dock to unload our moving truck, and the elevators were easy to access during our move. -Noise: This place is really quiet. We're in our older 20s, so we were looking for a place that was mostly quiet. We rarely hear anyone unless they're in the hallway -Cleanliness: The grounds are maintained well, and they have a cleaning crew come through weekly to clean the hallways and common areas -Concierge: We never have to worry about our packages being stolen or lost because all packages are kept by the concierge. They have decent hours and you get an email alert about delivered packages -Space: I like that our apartment is laid out nicely. I didn't want to give up space, which is why we chose to live a bit outside of the city. -Location: Easy access to Boston and 95 Cons: -Price (especially in regards to features): Although the price of our apartment is not bad, I would expect a few more amenities. Appliances are newer but aren't stainless steel. Laminate countertops instead of granite. Washer and dryer and good and sturdy, but could be updated. Bathrooms look a bit dated -Common areas: While each building has a lobby area with some seating, it's a bit dated looking. The main building has pool tables and a space you can reserve, but no business center you can use to print anything or access a computer. There's no pool, and only two small grills in the patio area Overall, this was a good deal for us and we hope to continue our stay here. read more

I lived in Longview for over a year now and had nothing but good experience. The apartments feel luxury and sound isolation is great; my maintenance requests were always responded to within 24 hrs. Community gym, grills, pool table, and covered parking are really nice to have. The community management team have been extremely helpful whenever I had issues with my apartment or lease. Unlike some of the apartment places I lived in before, the staff here are really nice and would make an effort to help me avoid unnecessary charges. Being an Asian myself, I never experienced the racism mentioned in other reviews from ANY of their staff. read more

I've been living here for almost 2 months, and I've had a great experience so far! The moving process was streamlined and very straightforward. It was easy to get an elevator and a spot in the loading dock. I like that all packages go through the main office to ensure a little more security with deliveries. This place is absolute garbage. If you want to be woken up in the middle of the night with alarms and strobe lights for an excessive amount of money, then this is your place to be. Do you have pets? They're pet friendly! Well...kind of. They do charge you monthly for pet rent. Quite a bit of money actually. ($80 for dogs, $50 for cats) But be aware, the strobe lights keep going off even when the alarm sounds stop, ensuring that your animals will be terrified and paralyzed from fear. Do you want to pay a lot of money for mediocrity? Welcome to Longview Place Apartments, where they shell out money for an expensive package system that doesn't work half the time. Laundry is in unit though...so I have to give credit where credit is due. So again, if you want to pay an excessive amount of money ($2800) for a small 1 bedroom apartment + pet rent with laundry in unit, alarms going off constantly, children screaming down the halls, banging on your doors, strobe lights terrorizing your pets and keeping you from sleep, broken package systems and high priced rent, then come on down to Longview Place, where mediocrity is their specialty ;). read more

Longview Place is in a good location for me, but that's the biggest (actually the only) advantage it has. Construction is aging and generally low-quality. There's a residential clinic (with no signage and little or no indication of where or what it is) in Building 60 -- the youth residents wander around -- they can be disruptive and menacing, and the clinic staff can be pretty rude. Because of the clinic, there are constant emergency vehicle visits 24/7. Visitors to the residents are generally clueless about where the clinic is, as well as about whether the whole building might be a clinic. I lived in that building and had visitors walk right into my unit thinking it might be part of the clinic. The staff at Longview are generally friendly and helpful, with the exception of the manager, who is fairly new and seems to be trying to learn on the job. The maintenance crew is very good and quick to respond. But they're burdened by having to maintain cheap, aging appliances. Public areas, which include a gym and a small conference area, are useful. But the wear and tear seems to be slowing adding up; it's not as nice now as it was when I first arrived two years ago. Parking can be a problem unless you pay an extra $85 for a space in the garage; part of the parking they "provide" is some sort of deal they made with the medical building next door -- we can use their lot only nights and weekends, so if you work at home one day you have to remember to go move your car or it will be towed. Compared to similar (newer) properties in the area, Longview seems pretty overpriced -- but again, the location, at least for me, is worth a bonus (which they definitely charge). I would not recommend Longview unless its location is exactly what you want. read more

I use the conference room often and find that advantage very helpful. The location is outstanding in Waltham as well as the views. And I find the staff pleasant and helpful. They charge higher price on old lease over new lease in the same time period ( i checked the new lease price online) just because they figured it's too much trouble for someone to move again in another year. I did moved out and I like my new apartment a lot more over Longview. I pay less and have a better management team with my new apartment read more

Cleaned my apartment myself and got my full security deposit back, no problems, no questions asked, sent to my new address less than a week after I left. That SHOULD be standard, but sadly it's really not, so Longview Place gets another star. read more

Loved living here; the staff are very attentive and responsive. The landscaping is beautiful; it is like a little oasis in the middle of Waltham. Great for pets. Daily concierge service to accept packages. Lots of natural light in the apartments. We have been extremely pleased with Longview Place. We have been living here for nearly two years now and are just as happy as the day we moved in. The leasing office, maintenance staff, and concierge are very professional and top notch. We chose Longview Place for the professionalism, cleanliness, and smoke-free community. The community is continuously being maintained inside and out. The maintenance team is truly phenomenal. I can't say more about a team that is quick to respond to inquiries and resolves any issues in a very quality and timely manner. The maintenance team is a pleasure to converse with too! The leasing office and concierge are a pleasure to visit. Before moving in we were happy to learn that packages are accepted by concierge and quickly inform us. The leasing office is very pleasant too. Everybody there is very approachable and goes above and beyond to answer questions and assist with anything related to living in the community. Biggest positive: grounds/building well-kept; emenities good. Biggest negative: the office staff, which cares SO much more about units rented than clients served, ranges between incompetent and dishonest. Do not believe anything they tell you unless they put it in writing!!! We were burned on differences between model unit seen before move-in and what they told us was in the actual unit; during move out, the staff's inability to communicate with each other on a simple matter caused us SOOOO much trouble and extra running around to properly document the issue at hand. In short, they are happy to smile and nod, and even tell you the issue's being dealt with, but DON'T believe it unless you have it in writing! Pros: Walls better than most Boston apartments, though I know I was in a quieter corner of the complex, and I could still hear the neighbors are playing loud music or sitting around laughing and talking loudly late at night; in general, insulation much better than most apt complexes here in Boston. Maintenance staff is very friendly, with good response time (always within 48 hours). Apartments come with indoor parking; garage is well-maintained and clean. One of the few apt communities that allow cats AND dogs of all sizes (also see cons). Neighborhood is generally quiet, though there is a lot of automotive traffic around the loop that leads to the complex; hospital next door, but ambulances do not blare sirens when they pull in. Safety is good, including secure entry to building at all points; some of the residents are not too careful (sometimes just careless) about keeping the security doors closed. In terms of public transport, MBTA bus 553 comes right by the complex (there's one every hour between 6:30am and 7:30pm); less than 1 mile to commuter rail stops (Waltham or Brandeis/Roberts station) Amenities are generally good, including nice-sized workout facility, TV/Theatre lounge, rec room, washer/dryer in unit very nice, and a concierge at the main building. Move out had some positives, including a preliminary walk-through to let us know what needed to be taken care of, and the repair expenses were fairly priced; also, they don't charge for nail holes. Cons: In the leasing process, as mentioned above, BE SURE you know what amenities come with your apartment. You probably won't get to see the exact unit that you'll be living in (they don't show while occupied, which is a policy that I like), so don't take their word for it when they say "I believe the unit includes..." We thought we were getting a lot of things that we didn't, including free storage space, built-in desk, up-do-date appliances (see below). Again, don't ever take the word of the office staff if it's not in writing. As mentioned several times above, range between incompetent and dishonest. One last time, DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY UNLESS YOU HAVE IT IN WRITING. You have to be really persistent when you make a request about the complex in general. During our one after-hours maintenance emergency, we didn't get a response until business hours, and I had to track them down personally (crew said their beeper never went off) Related to the last complaint, appliances in the model unit we saw were modern and in basically new condition, but ours were all old, though mostly in working condition (when we first arrived, the unit had an old fridge that broke down and had to be replaced twice before we got one that works). The concierge does his/her job, but attitude is not great with one or two of them. Regarding pets, hey charge $100 per month per pet, and that money does NOT go toward the expense of repairs needed for pet damage (to me a larger damage deposit seems more appropriate); dogs must go out to the back of the complex for "business time", but some owners don't clean up after them. Cost is a little on the pricey side for Waltham, but if you really care about amenities, it could be a good option for you. Personally, I would not choose to move back into Longview. read more

Pros --- if you have good money and doing well at your job then consider this community but trust me... don't even go for this community if you get same kind of luxury apartment in surrounding areas... cosn ---- Not Loyal to their Old customer. No negotiation policy on anything (i.e. Rent incresment, transfer policy ...) Management at Longview place just want to make money, they don't care about their customer. If they are not loyal to their old customer (who are leaving for more than 3+ years) then what to say about new customer. If you request something by saying that I am your old customer and staying for so long, in response you would get answer from Manager like "There are other people staying here longer than you, so we can't help you." In short words, DO NOT EXPECT anything from Management staff. They always goes by Policy and never believe in good customer service. THEY ARE NOT LOYAL TO THEIR OLD CUSTOMER. read more

I hope there could be negative 10000 stars regarding any comments toward Longview place. I was a former resident who have lived at Longview for 2 years and it was not only an unpleasant experience but also made me sick when I even thought about it. The maintainance staff seemed not ready for everything. My washer missed piece of hardware for 5 months until they got new one for me. Every time I submitted work order request, they would need at least 2 weeks to process it but not to finish it. For example, they come at least 7 times to fixed the toilet because of water leak. I waited for weeks for them to figure out the actual reason, meanwhile they were not in rush at all just let the water leaking for another two weeks...I didn't use that bathroom after they got water leak fixed. It was really disgusting for god sake! As many of you mentioned in the comment, the black lady at concierge desk was extremely rude and racist. I spotted she bullied several Asian students, yelling at them to show their delivery notice again and again when they already did. Those young students looked innocent and scared, and Ms.Bowler just threw the huge package to them. I was shocked!!! After several times, I choose other concierge staff to help me just to avoid contact with Ms. Bowler. I sent email to property manager several times to draw his attention about those issue. However, he seemed very relaxed about it and didn't take action at all. If you are looking for some place with respectful and responsible staff, don't even think about Longview. Although the location is ideal, rent is not okay, you would definitely be regret if you were treated like those young Asian students for the entire length of residency. read more

I lived here for 2.5 years. Not a terrible place to live overall if you find the right unit. We had a unit looking towards Brandeis Castle with nice sunset views. There was plenty of space in the units and public spaces and it seemed pretty clean overall. Nothing high end about the construction in terms of kitchen, bathroom, flooring materials. It felt safe and the area was relatively quiet because it sits on a big area of land shared with Boston Children's hospital. Never had an issue with snow not being plowed on snowy days since the hospital still has to operate. Close to I-95 and Moody street. Concierge collects your packages for you so no one steals them. Having said that, I did have a couple major issues with living here: 1. The walls were REALLY thin and I could hear my neighbor having sex all the time (like even the normal volume stuff, never mind the louder variety), then other times I could hear her crying over some guy, and definitely I could hear their late night parties that went on to 2-3am. There wasn't really anyone to call because concierge goes home after working hours. I probably got unlucky in that we had college age students next door, whereas that does not seem to be the usual demographic. (Although at one point the unit across the hall from us constantly smelled like weed. They were eventually forced to leave by management). 2. At the end of every lease year, the leasing office tries to jack up the lease price by a significant amount, claiming that the price was adjusted by "corporate" and dependent on how much demand there was at that particular moment in time, even if that could change in a couple months. I think they bank on the fact that most people would probably rather pay more than go through the trouble of moving. We found ourselves having to negotiate with the leasing office every year to bring the rent down to a reasonable price, which still ended up being a couple hundred dollars higher every year. Eventually these 2 issues became intolerable and were the deciding factors to move. Other interesting observations, although certainly not a deal breaker, is that if you try to go talk to someone at the leasing office, the concierge person stops you and has to be the one go into the office first to see if you're allowed to see them. I always found this presidential treatment of the leasing office comical. There's also what seems to be an eating disorder residential program for teens on the 1st floor in one of the buildings, so you may see those patients milling about. read more
