They have a monthly full moon goddess beer, dedicated and crafted with the Goddess of choice in mind. The owners are beautiful people and they have a few great bartenders I love to see when I visit. They're super friendly and the music is pretty good. The brewery doesn't have any food but popcorn for $5, but the beer is pretty tasty. I prefer the sours and they're just one of a few local breweries that does them and does them well. I recommend this brewery. I like the opening towards 6th street to just chill and drink. I also love the fact that they check the glasses thoroughly before serving your drink in them. Bonus points for that! If you're heavy into the beer you could join the mug club. What a great, hip little brewery for Tucson! I love the tavern-esque feel of the joint and while I'm generally not one to go for dead animals on the walls, Im not too particularly off-put by theirs'. We went for the flight ($10 for 5x 3-4 oz beers) and the skateboard it comes on is a neat touch. I thought every beer that I tried had a nice body and good flavor profiles. My favorite was the "Always Sunny in Amarillo" pale, which was slightly hoppy with a good smooth citrus finish. The smashing porter was also good...well balanced with subtle pumpkin flavor and a backdrop of spices. I personally didn't care for the Quaker with mango as it was too hoppy/bitter for my tastes. IPA fans might enjoy it. Good variety of beers overall. Just wish they had a stout! They've got nice communal tables for socializing/large gatherings and there is an assortment of board games available for play. There is also a taco truck out front that serves up some stellar carne asada burritos!! We came on a Wednesday night and they had a few local comedians doing standup. It was a fun time. I came here for the first time a few months after they opened and had a couple of beers. I like coming to these sort of laid-back breweries, where they're happy to tell you about the beer but you can also just order and sort of chill out. I don't know that they had their patio back then, but they have a great patio now. Heaters, socially distanced, and efficient table service. The wife and I had one and really enjoyed just being to sit out there. It's not quite as chill as it used to be, but it was also a Friday night and maybe they've gotten more popular. But I still enjoyed the beers and enjoyed the vibe overall. I'll definitely be back. read more

I came here with a friend one night, and we chilled out and had some drinks. The atmosphere is pretty chill. Perfect for a laid back night downtown. They don't serve food here, so I would consider it to be more of a social/drink stop. The drink choices here are OK. A lot of their drinks (such as a horchata flavored one) are a bit too gimmicky for my taste, but still fun if you are seeking something new to get you over the druthers of the week. I tried a tamarind sour drink. It was interesting, and tasty. However I probably wouldn't try it again. They also have a fine selection of beers as well if that is your thing. Came here right before closing time and ordered a flight of three beers--prickly pear sour, pumpkin porter, and IPA. The staff was nice and let me use one of their skateboard flight holders despite only ordering 3 tasters. As for the beer itself, while it wasn't my favorite in Tucson, it also wasn't horrible. The IPA was passable as was the sour (and I usually hate sours!). The pumpkin porter though stole the show with its intensity. It was only 6% abv but I could have sworn it was in the double digits. It's very delicious but I'm glad I only ordered a taster as it packs a serious punch and I had already had a few beers earlier in the night. The only downside was the fact that they didn't have any stickers. I will be back for those! read more

I'm both ecstatic I came here and upset I came here only because I don't live in Tucson so I can't come here more often! I came here with my boyfriend because he tends to like sour beers and they had a decent amount. It was Cuban night when we went so there was a great live band and Cuban food being made. So, I love this place! It's tucked away right off of 4th ave. Super accessible, but also nice and quiet (unless you're there during a game or trivia night). My boyfriend and I love coming here because it's a local business (always a plus) but they have a great variety of beers we love! He likes IPAs and I like sours. Crooked tooth has both! They also have at least one ale to choose from as well. They're always coming up with amazing flavor combinations too! My current obsession is the Saladito sour beer, I want to drink it all the time! Their Pico beer is also a close second! I don't think I've ever tasted a beer I didn't like at crooked tooth. I'd definitely recommend going Thursday-Sunday as there's usually a food truck outside, but there's a pizza place (Anello) right next door if there's not a food truck. Onto the beer- I have one favorite that I like to stick with because I'm not a beer connoisseur (Archmagus Ale). My roommate however likes pretty much everything and gets their growlers. They do change up beers enough, it was a sad day when I went and my fav was swapped out! I did find another that I liked though, so no worries. Way relaxed feel. Great seating and patio area with games. They also must have kids, because they have a whole kids game/play area. So perfect. We stopped in early and service was great and seating was optimal. Later in the evening things started to get a bit busier. We discovered their patio later and eventually moved out there. They don't serve food, maybe they'll have a food truck or bring your favorite thing in to eat. Now, the beer. It was great. We had to try several tasters and larger pours of our favorites. I wish they had their website working or a list, maybe on their Facebook page. They have a couple sours that were very interesting such as Horchata or the Watermelon infused. This is the perfect neighborhood place. Like, sometimes I can't believe it actually exists because everything about it screams too good to be true. It must be all the witchcraft they do on full moon nights. So first, the beer: it's good stuff. I came when they first opened back in 2016 and wasn't keen on some of what I tried, but the selection has gotten infinitely better and more diverse since then. One of the problems I had initially was that the tap list was super heavy on IPAs, which tend to taste bitter and soapy to me (yes, I know hoppy beer is an acquired taste, but my efforts to acquire it have come to nothing). Now, they consistently have a light ale on tap, as well as one of the best selections of local sours in town. Their moon beers, which they brew special on full moons using crystals and other carefully crafted ingredients, are also phenomenal. There's no kitchen, but you can buy Mexican candy sticks and local popcorn. There are usually food trucks on the weekend, and other times, you can order in from the phenomenally delicious Anello's pizza next door. It's a good system. The real star of this place for me, though, is the vibe. It's just special. The owners, Ben and Julie, are the loveliest people you'll meet, and the staff all clearly love this place and make everyone feel welcomed. The clientele is super chill and full of regulars. I've had so many good conversations just sitting at the bar that I go there to hang out even when I don't plan to drink anything besides Topo Chico. It just feels homey, and I can always count on seeing someone I know. This goes double if they're having one of their charity events or theme nights to benefit our community, which is something they do a lot. This is a place that gives back. If you're looking for a great local place that'll be your own personal Cheers, this is definitely it. read more

I've been here a couple times. I really like the relaxed vibe and easygoing nature of this place. I felt comfortable having a few beer by myself and enjoyed watching a Cats game. They generally have some sort of food truck parked outside. I love their well lit outside patio. It's super cute and chill. The beers (at least when I went) were primarily IPAs of some sort. I'm not sure if this is their normal standby but it would be nice to have other choices. I had one IPA that was a delicious mix of floral and fruit. However, I had their blonde that tasted pretty watered down. If you've been reading my reviews you know I'm a BIG (BIG BIG BIG!) fan of dog friendly places and this place is!! Also the American IPA which is citrus, pine, dank and gluten reduced at 7.7% ABV tastes like something I've had somewhere in Portland because there are so many breweries there. How about another brewery in town? What makes this one different than others? The Skateboard Flights. Like many other "microbreweries", this one also offers the IPA's, Pale Ales, Dunkels, Sour and Flavored beer. Situated in a building which could have been an old bank or library, the large fermenters are there as soon as you walk in. They're also dog friendly, but make sure they're trained and on a leash. Some of their beer is quite high ABV, but also very flavorful. Good body, clarity and doesn't have a strong hoppy aftertaste. Outside was the Big Bad Wolf truck where I was treated to their delicious Sriracha Wings. They'll also make you a pork roll and egg sandwich (even at night). read more

Can you say..... Amazing? Besides being somehow both modern and nostalgic, Crooked Tooth is in the perfect place to have a brew or two. I don't like beer. It doesn't interest me at all. But sours? A whole other ball game. The flavors are wild and tart. Mouth puckering. But the best part about sours, they don't make you feel bloated because of the wild cultures added or allowed to grow. My first experience at CT was 630pm on a Saturday night. It was definitely full, mid level noise. The bustle was allot but not overwhelming. There was also 2 different events happening at the same time; the beer garden was closed for a private party and 1/4 of the bars seating was reserved for yet another something or other. Annoying. But I got over it Staff was friendly even when completely overwhelmed. By 730pm the place was so packed we had to go. We couldn't hear ourselves talking and it was standing room only. Time to leave. I have not stopped thinking about their Saladito beer. The flavors are complex and so unique. Pro tips: *Bring your dog, they're dog friendly! *Ask for a rim of Tajin with your sour. *Grab dinner from one of the great food trucks or next door at Anellos for pizza. *Don't go on Saturday night. read more

If you love hops this place is for you! Let me say the vibe of the place is pretty cool. If you explore a little (by walking past the bathrooms) you can find a nice outdoor patio to hang out at. While the vibe was nice I didn't enjoy the beers. Got the sampler (which came on an awesome mini skateboard.) all of them were overly hoppy to me and I didn't even have the IPA! Great start but I'm hoping that they start producing some better brews because I won't be back for a long while. read more

Crooked Tooth is a unique addition to the downtown brewery scene. They replicated the look of the old Charlie's Auto Shop logo with their logo, which is a cute nod to the history of their building. The overall vibe is cool and industrial. There's usually a food truck parked outside, or you can order takeout pizza from Anello next door (which you absolutely should!). I've come in every now and then since they opened, and I'm so glad they've branched out into brewing sours and goses. My favorite part about Crooked Tooth is their dedication to producing interesting beers. I'm not a big fan of traditional beers, but sours and goses are my jam. I recently tried the Once Upon a Thyme gose and loved the tart flavor. The Pineapple Gose n Ya was a fresh, fruity release in partnership with another local brewery. It's fun to come in and see what new beers they have for me to try, knowing I'm not limited to drinking traditional brews or ciders. The bartenders are always friendly and happy to let me try a little taste before I make up my mind. But don't be discouraged if you like more traditional brews--I've come in with friends who've been pleased with the more standard options. They also host fun trivia nights that can get pretty packed, so arrive early. Definitely check out the patio/beer garden if the weather is nice. I am completely aghast at the fact that I haven't reviewed this place yet. Crooked Tooth has quickly risen to become my absolute favorite brewery in Tucson. Their beers are reliably good, regardless of what you get. Even more, the beers are interesting, different, and completely work. The prices can be a bit higher than what you would expect, but I'd happily pay more for beers that exceed in taste over the bars a quarter mile away on fourth. The sours here are unmatched in both quality and quantity and provide a refreshing respite to Tucson's eight months of heat. The patio is fitted with misters and provides a quiet alternative when it gets crowded inside. They have a regular rotation of food trucks that pop by to compensate for the lack of a kitchen and plenty of board games to provide good times with good friends.
