My review is based off the grooming itself and the experience. The experience as a first time customer was less than ideal. Of course no one can predict this would happen but my dog had an allergic reaction to either the products used or a chemical in one of the products. I didn't notice it at the time of pick up in the hustle and bustle of the checkout process but his eyes by the time we got home we're swollen shut. I frantically called to get the product names that were used and report his reaction and ask if anything had occurred during the grooming. I highly doubt If something did happen during grooming- sprayed something in his eyes, shampoo/conditioner got in his eyes- they would say it but they offered to give him an eye wash solution if I came in before they closed. My partner and I hurried over and they gave us the eye wash free of charge and they put some in his eyes. The grooming itself was a bit sloppy- He has small tufts of long hair throughout his coat. His eye lashes were cut down and the fur on his neck is like a fade! I asked for the long strands hanging down his ears to be trimmed slightly but they were pretty much cut down to where his ear ends. I paid more for a teeth cleaning and I can't tell if that was done. But I am happy that the groomer recommended the hair cut #7 instead of the #6 because if we had gone with that one - he'd look like a naked mole rat. Is my dog okay? He is fine now but the swelling lasted 2 days and he had to take a few halves of benadryl- thankfully he wasn't blinded! Does the haircut look awful overall? At first glance I didn't like it but it grew on me and hair is hair- it'll grow back so its fine. Will I go back? Definitely not. Next place I go to I'm taking our own shampoo. read more

After having a really positive grooming for my mini Australian Shepherd here, I booked a repeat service. I got a phone call from a different person two hours later saying I would need to reschedule my appointment because I was the only appointment and the groomer "couldn't come in for only one appointment." Disappointing, and not sure why the previous person would have booked me if that time wasn't available. I've also had issues anytime I try to use a credit card here, particularly Discover cards which are apparently supposed to work but don't, but often the credit card machines don't work at all. Since their scheduling was unable to work around mine, and I can't use my credit card here, I guess I'll be looking for another groomer or just doing it myself. read more

Andrew the groomer did such a great job with Pebbles. Other groomers I've taken her to wouldn't really listen to what i wanted. I expressed my concern about her dry skin and he offered his solution. Plus a bonus for me which actually shocked me was that Pebbles did not fuss or fight him!! Sam, who mans the shop all the times I've been in there, is extremely friendly and sincere. He brings out exactly what your neighborhood pet store should be like. The sense of friendliness, familiarity... The dude acts like he really cares about the people that come into his store. I LOVE IT!!! The actual store itself is a tiny space cram full of great healthy pet food and toys. The groomer brought me back a dog I didn't recognize in a good way. Gone was Mr. Scruffalagus. In his place was a Mr. James Bond kind of dog with a complimentary bow-tie. It's a fun place for us to visit. read more

Seemed like a nice, well stocked store when I went in. I had an emergency situation of a sick cat in the park I needed to catch and carry to the Dr. and needed to buy a carrier Immediately. The cat needed immediate medical attention. I spent about 15 minutes figuring out what I needed and gave them my Discover card. Their machine wouldn't take it. I tried to more cards and still would not work. The very young girl doing the transition was the only one in the store. Finally she admitted their credit card machines don't work!!! Not at their other store either!!! I was annoyed I wasn't told that immediately and wasted my time in the middle of an emergency. HOW do you expect to stay in business when your card machines dont work! She said she has told the owner many many times but he refuses to pay more money for a card machine vendor that works! SO you are not serving the community... at all! I had an emergency to retrieve a very sick cat from the park and get it to a Dr. Because I could not get what I needed, it took me another day to locate from another pet store what I needed. But, tragically it was too late. He died during 2 days of 18 degree weather in Jackie Robinson Park. It was horrible and I was devastated as were all the rescuers. . Dont waste your time at this store because their card machines do not work! You have to wonder if this store is even legitimate or is it a front for illegal business. If the owner doesn't care about loosing sales ( as the salesgirl claims, he looses hundreds of sale a week) then what is going at this store!?!?! DO NOT waste your time or go to a store whose owner has zero respect for his customers. read more

Had a 2pm appt I was 5/6 min late and they called me to see if i was comming in still, not telling me that if ur late might as well not show up, he called to ask if i was comming . I told him yes i was around the corner to give me a minute!! He said ok see you here I go in 2:08 He tells me that he cant take my dog!!!! Bc they already started another dog! U guys couldnt have called me and told me that @2 pm I understand i was 8 minutes late but you guys could have just replace my dog time to the dog you just started!!! Very disappointed!!! **Grooming Experience** Please note that this review is about my experience with the groomer at Pets On Broadway. I'd first like to say that the store manager and cashier were extremely kind and accommodating to me after finding out what their groomer did to my dog and that is the only reason why I'm giving 1 star. I brought my maltipoo puppy to Pets On Broadway to get a hair cut and when I arrived to pick him up, he was completely shaven down with cuts and bruises all over his body. The groomer informed me that he had matted hair and was not able to comb through. Are you kidding me? There was absolutely no attention to detail. She didn't bother to shape his face. She is clearly unexperienced and unprofessional. If you look at the photos of my dog before and after, you'll clearly see that this was a botched job. The manager was kind enough to give me a partial refund but my dog will still have to deal with the trauma he endured forever... read more

Came in to the shop looking for new groomers for my baby's Remy (pit bull) and Gelato ( cocker spaniel) and I couldn't have been more happier with the results. My fur babies came out not only looking and smelling good but also had a pep in their step. I have never seen my babies so happy leaving a grooming shop. We were in a pinch when, on our way out of town, our pup unfortunately threw up all over herself -- we were over an hour from home (and heading in the opposite direction), with a very smelly dog that desperately needed a bath. With next to no notice, towards the end of the day, Pets on Broadway fit her in for a bath. Brought my 2 year old 46lb foster dog here for a nail clipping. I don't think her nails had ever been clipped before and they were very long so I knew this was going to be a challenge. She struggled and whined so much and the groomer was so patient with her and we eventually got the job done (which involved both of us holding her tightly, the poor girl). They have a great selection of products, but we truly keep going back because of the wonderful staff. Our dog is kind of a monster, but the groomer Amanda is incredibly patient and sweet when trimming her nails, which is hard to find.
