Me and my friends took a trip up to Singing beach and wanted to stop to get some snacks. This place is super accessible and the staff was great! They have a wide selection of food, and some great snack variety. So good a seagull down at the beach decided he has to try some himself to made a pit stop at our towel. I appreciate that they have everything, well mostly everything LOL but they are right down the street, we are in the middle of a pandemic and glad to have a resource so close. They are always really polite and friendly and if you bring your own bag during non-pandemic times you get these cool tokens that you can choose a charity and help the community and save receipts for the local elementary school. I usually only go here if I'm in the area or need to pick something up quick. I like the fact that they hire people with disabilities. They are pretty pricey, but I am able to find a few things here that I can't find at other stores. I had a disturbing experience recently, so I will do my best to avoid having to go to Crosby's in Manchester. A bagger came over and was wiping snot from her face with her hands. I had a few items and offered to bag them myself in my own bag because that's just nasty. She yanked my bag out of my hands threw my groceries in my bag, slammed them down and left. It shocked both me and the cashier. If you need specific products that only they can provide, I'd suggest going to Henry's in Beverly instead. read more

This establishment is an embarrassment to the town of Manchester. Not only is the customer service unbearably unhealthful, they towed our car and refused to help us call a taxi. There are absolutely NO VISIBLE SIGNAGE to indicate that the spots are not available for public parking. I am deeply disturbed by my encounter with the entire staff today and will probably be taking further action. This is a small store that they pack A LOT into. The aisles are not big enough for two carts to go down, but most people (I think) pop in to get something for the beach or their train ride back so you don't need a cart. The deil is in the back and made my friend the perfect sandwich. It was exactly what he wanted. They have shovels, but no buckets. Interesting.... read more

Crosby's is always clean, and the cashiers are friendly. I don't do all my shopping there, but it's the perfect place to grab a few things. They usually have what I'm looking for, down to the brands I like to buy. The Henry's products are a nice addition. I haven't tried many of those, but the ones I have were good. For people (like me) who don't live super close to a large supermarkets, this store is a huge help. Minor downside: the parking lot can be challenging to deal with when they're busy. Not much they can do about that, I don't think. read more

I work here in Manchester. I didn't have a car for about four years, and so when I had to take the commuter rail from Salem to Manchester for work, I'd always arrive about 1/2 hour before I needed to be at the office. Seeing as MbtS isn't really the most happening place, I used to just get off the train and walk into Crosby's; mainly to kill time but also to kill my paycheck. The employees here are all super nice. Actually wait. That one lady with the fingernails can be a bit intense. Otherwise, there's a good mix of older people and high school kids employed here. My consistent patronization may have put me at "regular" status and I've defintiely gotten friendly with some of the employees. Their products are definitely more expensive than you'd find at Market Basket and the experience can be just as harrowing; instead of dealing with cracked out families of twenty, it's Lu-Lu Lemon-ed moms with children named "Paisley" (true story. I heard someone call their kid this) who have no problem dropping 7 bucks on a box of crust-less, pre-made pb&js: serving size? me. The parking lot is an experience in and of itself. I almost get run down there on a daily basis because it's pretty hard to see over the steering wheel of your army tank SUV. Once, a really pretty lady who I bet looks like that naturally told me to "f*ck off" classy. That's basically the only negatives about this place. They have a decent hot bar/salad bar selection. For a small market, they offer some good, higher-end brand beers and those seem to be comparably priced. They have one of those Redbox things to rent dvds from. Oh, I saw Mario Cantone, the actor/comedian here once. funny story: when i first started my job, I got off the train and walked right to work. Later that day I was talking to my boyfriend at the time about how I wished there was a place to get food as I hadn't brought anything to eat on my lunch break. Ex-boyfriend asked why I didn't go to Crosby's. I said I didn't go because it didn't exist, ie. I didn't see he. Incredulous, he asked how I could have missed it and we essentially had a ten minute long discussion about how he was wrong and I was right and Crosby's did not exist. Crosby's is a fine market located on the banks of the Atlantic Ocean. Located conveniently on the railroad tracks is essential for your family to have a wonderful day at the beach. Their cheap prices make me and my daughter Paisley excited to go there every Sunday. The cart boys are very careful in making sure that the cars don't damage my Mercedes. Upon entering the store you are greeted by easily the best department, with the most friendly workers. The produce department, namely a worker named Mac has a good head on his shoulders and is very helpful. Often my daughter asks Mac to use the bathroom! I believe she might have some kind of crush on the boy. Another good and helpful worker is Steve. Very sociable and often makes remarks about how he had worked for Hood for over 30 years and won many law suits. It's always interesting to listen to his stories. Thankfully, Crosby's isn't filled with the typical junkies and white trash you would find at grocery store such as Market Basket or Shaw's by the tracks in Gloucester. Crosby's is generally filled with upper class people, because thankfully the prices of everything would turn away anyone who is of the lower class, which makes Crosby's Market a very safe place to bring up your child. I personally would never bring Paisley to Market Basket. But that's just my obviously correct opinion. This is a great crosbys and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a friendly experience in a family setting. read more

I attempted to return an item that I purchased by mistake one minute after I left the store and was told that I should have realized my mistake before I purchased. They refused to refund the item. I was only allowed a store credit. I did not see the policy posted while I was shopping. I will not be patronizing again. Terrible. read more

Wednesday September 11....I live in Manchester. Crosby's is the only option for us for a last minutes purchase. Tonight at 8:58 I ran in for a very important item. The manager and would not let me in.. in a very arrogant way said the store is closed.I told him that I live in Manchester and That I would not be back...He said That's FINE! Who hires a disrespectful person who seems full of his so important position that he can talk down to a customer? I will pursue this insult... This person is not doing his job.. is impressed with his "high" position.and is not creating good will for Crosby's. Yes, the soups, and the Saturday baked beans are good. I usually get meats at Henry's. I've had bad luck a number of times buying steaks at Crosby's. The quality is inconsistent. And when you're talking prepared foods, Crosby's cant hold a candle to Henry's kitchen. I just bought a beef pie at Crosby's on Saturday and when I cut into it, my reaction was the classic: "Where's the beef?" It was nothing but thick gravy, potatoes and crust. I think I spotted a carrot. The crust was good but there was too much of it, probably to mask the lack of beef in this "beef" pie. The prepared meals do not look appetizing. They should take a page from Henry's book. Matter of fact, they will soon do that, and not a moment too soon. read more

I loved this market! It had a great selection of prepared foods and fruits. We headed to a concert in the park and stopped here to pick up some dinner. We got salads from the awesome salad bar, cherries and a two pack of cheesecake. I didn't have the chance to walk the entire market, but I can tell you I wish there were one of these near my house! I would starve at the beach if it wasn't for Crosby's. Conveniently located right behind the commuter rail train tracks, they have everything you could want for a day in the sun, including a deli counter where you can get sandwiches custom made. They'll even pack them up on a little plate wrapped in cellophane. It's up to you to keep the seagulls out! This is my very favorite Crosby's! It helps that it's also the one closest to my house, but still somewhat of a trek. I go here once a week for soup and the occasional goodie. The soup selection is just pure awesomeness. 6 different flavors, each high quality, and replenished daily so you don't get stuck with old soup should you pop in around 5. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Plenty of lanes are open during busy hours. I even love the parking lot. If you're not in the mood for soup, try some of their prepared dinners. They taste home made and oh so good. I look forward to visiting every week! read more

Crosby's is always very clean, and the staff is nice and helpful. However, it is a small grocery store, so their selection is not amazing, and their prices are a bit high, but this is expected at a place this small. They do have a nice selection of beer, wine and liquor, which is something you don't find in every grocery store, so that's a pro in my book. The only reason I've really ever gone to Crosby's in Manchester is because it's the only grocery in Manchester, and you've got to drive probably about 15 to 20 minutes (or more) to get to a larger grocery store in Gloucester or Beverly. If you've got the time to venture to a large store, I would encourage it, but if you're just looking to pick up a few things, Crosby's will work out fine. read more

I love having this convenient store down the street. The people that work there are always nice and I go in almost daily for one reason or another. My complaint, and I've voiced it before when I've taken the time to bring "fuzzy" fruit or vegetables back to the store, is they are doing something weird with the produce. More times than not I have to toss half a container of lettuce that I just bought that day! I'm writing in the hopes someone at this nice store will figure out why this is the case only at this location. And it has been a consistent problem for over a year now. read more

I found my experience at Crosby's Marketplace not too enjoyable. I had the chicken, I found it rather dry. The prices weren't half bad, although some might find them a little pricey. The service was nothing special no one seemed too excited or happy, although everyone was polite enough. The variety of groceries were rather limited. It's great if you need to run to the store to get one or two items, but I would suggest to go to the nearby Market Basket or Whole Foods for more then ten items. This concludes my review and I gave it 2/5 stars for the reasons above. read more
