The bbq ribs appetizer was great! Tender with a great sauce. The lamb chops were amazing. Would order both again. The bbq beef tacos were much better than the shrimp tacos. Had more flavor. The garbanzo salad needed more cucumbers and tomatoes. But it was flavorful The burbon old fashioned was good as were the aperol spritz drinks. Our server Loranne was fantastic. Dinner inside was noisy, but outside was early nice. We will Come back again
Love this place. The strawberry margaritas were delicious. I got the shrimp tacos, so good. They have some nice outdoor seating which lets you people watch while you eat if you're into that. Service was excellent & our waiter was very helpful.
We did bottomless mimosas on Saturday for brunch. Service was amazing. Our waiter, Tyler, was so great and attentive. Food was also great, my friend wanted me to add that the aha tuna wrap was the best. My sandwich was also delicious. There was a dj there and the vibes were awesome.
what a delicious brunch spot! the overall interior is spacious and very welcoming. we went for brunch and they had an extensive menu of options. the stand out for me was the Lobster Benedict. the espresso in their latte was great quality. we saw the menu also had a bottomless mimosa add-on, will be coming back for that. overall, great dining experience and service. recommend their brunch!
What a redemption story. A quarter of the way through this experience, I was fully prepared to write this place off, but somehow they came roaring back. I don't think this is necessarily a top two or three spot in downtown Asbury, but it can at least hold its own. The Millennial Chum and I stopped by here yesterday afternoon for brunch. It was honestly our third choice after two nearby places either had long waits or seemed to be more bar than restaurant. But that IS one of the selling points of Asbury - if at first you don't succeed, there are 50 other places that might have an open table. The minute we sat down, I was put off. The acoustics in here are insane, and it's more like a concert hall than a restaurant noise-wise. We literally had to yell to hear each other from across the table. The interior has no dividers (it's all open space), so there's literally nothing in the building to muffle sound. To be fair though, that situation DID improve later on as the tables near us started emptying. I decided to get a Call Me Old Fashioned ($16), which was one of the worst cocktails I've ever had - so bad, that I cajoled the Millennial Chum to walk 15 minutes in the oppressive humidity over to R Bar so I could get a decent bourbon-based refreshment to fix my palate. This might be it for me and Old Fashioneds for a while. A good Old Fashioned to me needs at least one or two additions, usually something sweet or smoky to enhance the bourbon. This allegedly had apricot liquor, but I didn't detect anything other than straight bourbon. Even dousing the orange garnish and smushing the black cherry into the bottom of the drink didn't do anything - it was like gasoline. If I come back here, I'm sticking with water. And then the tide turned. We decided to split an order of the Belgian Waffles ($13), which was an excellent decision. They were DELICIOUS, and the passion fruit butter it came with was amazing - the Millennial Chum actually summoned her courage and asked for a lid for the condiment container so she could bring it home. That also meant I had to hear regular updates on our way back about the state of the butter, including that it was too hot from the car, and that it was cold again from the air conditioner. I've never been that informed about a little serving of butter before, but hopefully that gives you an idea of how valued it was. I also ordered the Lobster Bennie as my main entrée ($22), which was fantastic as well. The lobster was fresh and the home fries were flavorful and cooked perfectly. My only piece of constructive feedback for that dish is that the cheddar biscuit it comes with is insanely small, easily at least half the size of a normal biscuit or English muffin that you'd typically get. If you're not careful, the biscuit will disappear well before the eggs and hollandaise. The service was a microcosm of our overall experience. It was pretty rough to start - a waiter rushed by our table with water (the water was certainly appreciated though) and said he'd be back shortly. We never saw him again, and our actual waitress didn't come by for close to 10 minutes, at which point we were more than ready to order everything. She was very good going forward though, stopping by on a regular basis to check in, and of course was very helpful with the passion fruit butter situation. Great brunch food but if you need a cocktail, I'd play it much safer or go somewhere else afterwards to fill that need.
Service was good and a,Bianca was very much a bar atmosphere. The French onion soup was really good, but the chicken Caesar was bland. Overall a decent spot. But good for bar food or a couple of drinks.
This is my second time to the restaurant for brunch. The first time when I went, it was a totally different vibe. There was a DJ and the place was really busy this time it was very quiet. I'm not sure if it's just because it was so cold out. it's a great place for brunch because they have bottomless bloody Mary's or mimosas and both are very good and not watered down. The food there is tasty. I've had the chicken and waffles, and really enjoyed them. I've also had the turkey and brie sandwich special which was flavorful. This is a place that I always go to when I'm in town whether it's just a sit at the bar and have a bloody Mary or to have the bottomless brunch. I will definitely be returning.

Service speed is a bit on the slow/casual side, but the food was so tasty and who knew I'd end up with what felt like half a chicken and two waffles for brunch?! I definitely had leftovers. We dined outside on the sidewalk and the street scene was lovely and lively. Really nothing I can even complain about- the experience was great!
Nice atmosphere, great menu and good food. Sat at the bar since the wait for a table would be a while. The bartender, Mary, was amazing! despite being short another bartender and bar back. She was very positive and engaging. She also took care of everyone at the bar and the restaurant orders without appearing flustered. I ordered the Cross signature burger. It came with a generous amount of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Served with hand cut French fries. They also offer endless Mimosas and bloody Marys for parties 6 and greater. Despite staffing shortages, Cross did not disappoint. Ask for Mary the bartender when you visit!
I have been to cross and orange so many times over the past few months! My sister and my soon to be brother in law are getting married here in October. The staff has been so amazing during this entire process. My mom and I went to the testing for the wedding and everything was so delicious, I know my family is going to be very happy the big day. Besides all the times I've been here getting ready for the wedding, I've also been here for brunch. If you're coming on the weekend, you should try to get yourself a rezzy because it does get packed and there is usually a wait. But the food does not disappoint. Every time I've come to C&O I have been really happy and left super full.
OMG the wait was ridiculous. Not to get seated, but to get our food. Our waitress, though very nice, left us for 45 minutes after we ordered, without checking in with us. Even getting our check took a long time. They definitely need to work on getting better staffed or not take on so many customers at once. The food was mediocre--diner quality. Very basic scrambled eggs, waffles, salads, etc. We sat outside, and though there they are able to put out umbrellas on the tables, they weren't set up, so patrons were in direct sunlight while eating.
Came here since it has the shortest wait time. But we waited an hour after ordering for our food to arrive. Even though the staff were nice, it was not enough to make my experience better. When the food finally arrived, it was very underwhelming. The food was nothing special and could be compared to one of those frozen meals you can heat in the oven in 20 minutes.

I attended a wedding at Cross & Orange, and let me tell you, it was one of the best weddings I've been to (and not just because I was the officiant of course). The restaurant set up chairs outside on the little green and it was a very lovely ceremony. The reception was a 5 hour cocktail / appetizer hour and it was everything anyone could ever want. Let's be real - when you go to a wedding it's the cocktail hour that steals the show. Now imagine that for the entire night! It was fantastic! The passed around appetizers were delicious and the rotation changed frequently. From grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters (my favorite), to three different tiny corn tacos (sweet potato, fish, and pulled pork), to sliders, to sweet and sour chicken skewers, to lobster rolls, to SO MUCH MORE. All of it was incredible. The drinks were also delicious. The bartenders, waiters, and waitresses were so very nice and accommodating. I went to grab a coffee from the coffee station and one of the servers told me he could make me a latte so of course I had to have one. The space is so lovely and held a good number of people without it feeling crowded at all. There were tables set up throughout the space and you could sit, or stand by the bar, or dance on the dance floor all night long. It was so much fun! Went on a sunday for brunch with a group of 5. We wanted to do bottomless but couldn't because it's only for groups of 6 or more unfortunately. Bloody Marys were very very good. For my entree I got Chicken and Waffles and a side of extra crispy bacon. I read the menu incorrectly and didn't realize it was sausage gravy I thought it said sausage and gravy. I personally hate sausage so was just expecting to give the sausages to someone in my group. So unfortunately I didn't enjoy my meal too much. The actual and chicken and waffles part were amazing but just the sausage gravy I didn't like. I would recommend this place! Also in a great location!! read more
Good atmosphere, service and location in Asbury but very limited menu with mostly average food and not the best craft beers. If you are a picky eater and only like certain types of food to eat, you may want to check the menu here before coming. Very small and not much for people that are not either seafood or steak lovers. The bruschetta was definitely not my favorite, the restaurant tries to create their own flavors which I appreciate. However the bruschetta was not for me although I ate it. I'd say it was below average unfortunately. Our group got various different dinners. Let me start off by saying the black ink squid pasta was delicious! I'll be honest I really enjoyed it! Complete with seafood. Very tasty and very satisfying. That was definitely the highlight of the night. Not the same for some of the other meals. The steak cheeseburger was a disappointment. Odd flavor to be honest. We should've ordered the regular cheeseburger. Still not sure why the flavor didn't seem right. I ordered a flight of beers and I ordered mostly IPAs. Of course Kane head high is always delicious. But was not a fan of the other beers at all. Although I only tried a few of them. This restaurant may be just what you're looking for, just check the menu before going as it is limited and some of the flavor creations may not be your favorite. Dug it. Nice atmosphere, diverse menu selection, large portion sizes, & friendly service. Was pretty dead empty at prime dinner hours on a Friday night - bizarre. Maybe this is due to slow service and high prices. Also off season. Quality craft brews on tap - had a $9 shot & beer special, fair! Ordered disco fries for an app... really yummy fries smothered with a cheesy hollandaise sauce and dash of steak jus, more of a disco spin than classic. Still tasty and good to share for 2. Dinner was beef bourguignon in a crispy sour dough bread bowl. Very tender short rib chunks and generous amount. Mixed with shredded green beans and carrots, but not overwhelming. The jus was flavorful and rich, but could've used a bit more to soak into the bread. I enjoyed it nonetheless. Filling. Friend ordered the buttermilk fried chicken & a glass of wine with a few tiffs. Chicken was tender and crispy - no complaints, however the biscuit on the side was hard as a rock and the mashed potatoes were cold. Traded in for some mac & cheese, but that was less than inspiring. Hardened twist noodles in basically the same cheesy hollandaise that were on the fries. Kraft quality. Would return as there are a few other menu items I'm interested in trying and my meal did not disappoint, however be warned the bill total was unsettling. read more
We came here for brunch and it has a great atmosphere and is nicely decorated for the holidays. The food was just okay though-- it has a great menu but the flavor didn't really blow me away so it was a little disappointing. We got the short rib hash (short rib was good, but the potatoes were bland) and shroom n' grits (definitely needed seasoning..also pretty bland). We went heavy on the hot sauce :) We opted for the breakfast options but judging from other tables' plates it looks like the lunch options are the better move (chicken sandwich looked great!) I would come here again and will try out one of their sandwiches. read more

What a great brunch. First the drinks were amazing. The Bloody Mary was perfectly spiced. With bacon garnish yum. The chicken and waffles were sweet and savory all in one. The waitress was great and very friendly. The restaurant is super cute in the middle of Asbury Park. read more

I loved it here, perfect brunch spot right next to the farmers market with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The space inside is so inviting and lovely and the food and rinks were awesome. Staff was so nice and everyone kept checking on us. We had a carafe of mimosas with grapefruit juice which was bomb, mushroom cheesy grits which were delicious. The hash looked great and was melt in your mouth but lacked seasoning. Overall would recommend for brunch read more
Awesome menu, cool vibe, lots of outdoor seating, and my buddies from college own it!! So it has to be good!! Lol. No joke, possibly my favorite sandwich EVER is here: The American Dip; short ribs| Muenster | toasted garlic bread | au jus. I order the onion jam for it also. It is amazing. My friends and I visited Cross & Orange on a rainy Saturday morning. The vibe is very hipster and the spacious layout lends to having a pleasant experience without being on top of other diners. I had made reservations earlier in the week via email to ensure we would have a table for 10 am, but we probably could have done a walk in. It started picking up more around 11 am, but it wasn't too packed. We ordered some carafes of mimosas and our server was very helpful with explaining menu options. I decided to go with avocado toast and egg, hold the toast, since they don't have many gf options. It arrived with extra portions since I wasn't receiving bread, which I appreciated. I dug in and unfortunately, my avocado spread was absolutely horrid. It had a terrible taste to it and I requested everyone at my table try it to be certain that I wasn't imagining the flavor. I am not one to ever send things back to a kitchen, so I only ate the eggs and informed the server that the avocado was rancid. It would have been nice if they offered a substitute or removed it from the bill, considering I only was able to eat two eggs. My friends all enjoyed their meals, but were thankful they skipped on the avocado. read more

Finally made it here. Been to plenty of AP restaurants but got around to C&O for happy hour. They have a pretty good deal on beer; all taps $5 and half off appies. They also have a bogo on hamburgers which is a pretty good deal. Normally $17 for a burger. A bit high in price in my opinion cause it's just the burger and fries. The burger was delicious; juicy, tender, and tasty. Fries pretty good too. It was a week night and not very crowded. Even still they were understaffed. Sitting at the bar it was hard getting a bartender to serve us because he was a waiter too. Service could have been better. We were a group of 7 or 8 but my wife and I were on our own check. I was surprised that the gratuity was included (20%) when we were the only two on the check. I paid it but wouldn't have voluntarily paid 20%; not worth it. read more
Came here for brunch after a Halloween night out. This place is spacious with large windows but also somehow manages to have a cozy feel. I came here with a group of 6 and we all enjoyed our meals. I ordered a mimosa carafe to share with a friend and avocado toast. The avocado toast was on point. It had shaved pecorino cheese on top and was totally delicious. Mimosas were good as well. Husband ordered the lobster scramble and said it was amazingly delicious. Two friends ordered the overnight oats and enjoyed them. I also heard the fried chicken was great from another friend, so overall everyone enjoyed their meals and were super satisfied. Service was good and friendly. We didn't feel rushed and had time to relax and enjoy the brunch experience. Highly recommend! read more

New American cuisine + amazing cocktail list + huge bar area. We grabbed some drinks and light fair here after a day at the beach. This place is open from brunch to late night w/bar menu served btw meal times. We sat at the bar and each ordered a cocktail. Huge bar area with tons of seating on one side of the restaurant w/the other side full of tables and a large-ish patio for outdoor seating. I found the environment to be casual but hip so the standard gastropub look. The place exclusively uses American-made products from all the liquors to garnishes to flavors. The season cocktail menu changes often but currently featured a watermelon cocktail that was light and refreshing and served in a tiki cup! The bartenders were really attentive and recommended drinks when I wasn't sure and they didn't steer us wrong. Service was really quick and attentive! We split two starters: tuna tartar ($12) and shrimp mac n cheese ($15). Loved the tuna as it was incredibly fresh and savory. It was a nice sized portion too. The mac n cheese was good but not great. I felt like there wasn't enough shrimp and wasn't overly cheesy either though did have a nice crunch on top. Overall though - I really like the environment, cocktails, and food and will be back to try dinner soon. read more
