Chicken Salad Club Sandwich (half eaten) & Macaroni Salad. I always forget to take a photo first!
    Matt P.

I've been here for breakfast many times but finally decided to give their lunch a try. I was very pleased. I opted for the chicken salad club with a side of macaroni salad-- everything was nice & fresh, including the lettuce & tomato in the sandwich. It was clear the salads were homemade (and not too mayo-y, which I hate!). Very tasty! Service was excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the shabby diner ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The walls could probably use a good washing & perhaps a new coat of paint, but it's places like these that are the heart of Asbury Park.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] More of this, less of the polished, Instagram-ready establishments.

I met my daughters and their friends here Sunday morning for breakfast. We were seated in the patio out back. It was a delightful spot! There were 10 of us altogether. The staff was delightful. The menu selection was awesome- there was even a separate menu for benedicts (which I love). I had a Benedict with spinach and avocado, hash browns and a fruit salad. Delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal. My husband commented on the generous portion size. This is a gem and I recommend looking it up. My phone died so no pictures of the food.

No frills and no complaints. Kind of away from it all if you're hanging near the beach in Asbury. Which was fine for us because we were leaving and stopped on our way to the parkway. Nothing spectacular about any of the food. Certainly worth the prices tho. My wife did fall in love with the teapots so now we have four similar ones coming from Amazon...lol. The pancakes were tasty, just wish it wasn't package syrup. Typical everyday spot with simple and the basic menu items. I wouldn't dismiss it, but I'm not rushing back.

I always stop here before going to the beach. They have a good menu of your classic diner faves, and serve you quick and fast. Definitely a place to check out !

I've driven past this place so many times in the last five years or so and never tried it. Went in around 11:30 in the morning and found it almost packed, had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table for two. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros (+chorizo) and the weekend special grilled cheese. Amazing, delicious food. The chorizo was one of the best I've ever had, anywhere. The rancheros sauce (got it extra on the side later) complimented the beans and eggs perfectly, again something I've never had in a lot of American establishments. The grilled cheese had onions in it which lended it a sweet taste that went well with the saltiness of the cheese. Great service, prices and portions. Definitely going to try this place again.

I had breakfast here around 10:00am on Saturday morning. There are 2 tables outside and both were open so we decided to eat here with the dog. We split the Chicken and Waffles and Jersey Benedict. The Chicken and Waffles were very good, good waffle and nice crispy chicken tenders on top with a little powdered sugar. The Jersey Benedict had pork roll and a slice of American cheese along with the usuals. It was really good, the hollandaise was tasty and the slice of American really added a lot to it. Unfortunately the poached egg was overcooked and not runny, that would have probably made this a 5 star review. Our server was great, she even brought out a water bowl for the dog. There is no atmosphere outside, it's in an OK at best part of town, but the food is great.

The Speakeatery made for a great backup. You order at the counter, and the service is decent. The space is long and narrow with some stool seating up front and more table and chair seating towards the back. The grill and kitchen are situated in the middle of the restaurant. The place only has indoor seating, which fits the speakeasy vibe nicely. Overall, I'd recommend The Speakeatery for breakfast or lunch when you're visiting Asbury Park for the day.

She recommended Cardinal Provisions, which had a great menu, so onward we went. It was perhaps major hubris on my end to show up at 11am and not expect a 1.5 hour wait. Well, we put our names down and took a walk to the Boardwalk. We ended up heading back a little before the 1.5 hour mark because the website where I was tracking our progress on the waitlist stopped working. We were seated at an outside table, but it was way too sunny, so I asked to be moved. They were able to accommodate us within 10-15 minutes. My mom and I opted to split two dishes, because neither of us could decide on what to order. We had the Cacio e Pepe Scrambled Eggs with breakfast sausage and garlic toast, and the Blueberry Skillet Cake with blueberry salted honey butter. First of all, our waiter did warn us that the skillet cake was huge, but we still wanted it anyways. It was, indeed, huge. But so good. Like a fluffy cake. The Cacio e Pepe eggs were phenomenal and I need to figure out how to make these at home. Service was attentive without being overbearing and we were never rushed. I think coming after 1pm is definitely the best time, since there were significantly less people waiting.

We were seated right away on a Thursday afternoon on their front sidewalk patio. I ended up ordering the Green Machine bowl (normally vegan and gluten free) but added grilled chicken to it. It was delicious! A combo of roasted broccoli, warm lentils, parsley pesto, avocado, and marinated kale. Everything was cooked perfectly, and while this is basically something I make on rotation at home, I loved the pesto sauce and will definitely be trying to replicate that on my own. Perfect lunch that left my full and not even a little sluggish. They do have a few drinks on the menu like kombucha, cold brew, and sodas, but if you are looking for anything more than that in the coffee arena, you'll need to pop by a neighboring cafe afterwards. Service was friendly but not too fast. It was a busy day and we were in no rush, so we didn't mind. All in all, a great place for a delicious brunch.

We also ordered a pizza with cup and char pepperoni and chopped up mozz sticks on it where the crust was chicken vodka parm sliders. WHAT?!?! crazy. And maybe we added some wings. The wings themselves were cooked really well and had great juiciness and flavor. If I got these 2 apps I would have left perfectly happy. The pizzas were wild. I will admit in hindsight the mozz sticks on the vodka parm pizza were maybe a bit overkill on the cheesiness. Without them it may have been even better, but the cutlets were thin and cooked perfectly and the flavor was great. Both pizzas were a little doughier than I typically prefer but they had nice char and crispiness underneath. The meatball garlic knots were awesome. Meatballs had great flavor and texture.
