Eye doctor is great. I will not be going back though because when I walked in there was a woman behind the desk on the phone gabbing away on a personal phone call. No greeting, no acknowledgment of my presence. I stood right at the desk, she looked up and went right back to her phone call. After 15 minutes someone came out and asked if they could help me. I enjoyed the initial visit w/ the lady who helped me select a pair of Rx eye-glasses (covered from my insurance, MVP). She was accomodating & friendly. Quick service, affordable co-pay. However when I returned to pick up my glasses, she wasn't there & the one who collected payment wasn't as nice. She gave the impression she didn't want to be there. She wrote the receipt & handed it to me (just going through the motions), & I had to ask for a case .. she must've forgotten. I'd only go back when the original customer service lady is working. I absolutely cannot recommend this office enough. I recently (and stupidly) lost my glasses to the bottom of a lake and the next day called them to see about a replacement. They not only still had my exact order on file, but they were able to order, put together and ship my glasses to me within 5 days of me calling. They have been a life saver. Thank you!! read more

Worst experience ever. The Drs. seems good. I ordered new glasses, sun glasses and new lenses for my old glasses. The first pair of my new glasses didn't seem right. Things look blurry, not clear. They remade them, again after a few days they just didn't seem right. They rechecked my text, said all was ok had glasses remade. They were better but still seemed off. Same with sun glasses they seemed off but there worked. Never went back for new lenses in old glasses....fast forward went back to old Dr (I moved away area but went back to just see him) and I find out the prescription was wrong, and the eye measurement was wrong. From my personal experience I would not recommend. read more

It turns out the impersonal service I received on my previous visit was secondary to the doctor I saw, Dr. Weinberger. On my second trip, I saw Dr. Gagliotti, and he was nothing short of excellent. He took the time to explain a number of concepts to me, most of which I was familiar with but some that I was not, and was patient and thorough during the appointment. Very personable. Most IMPORTANTLY however, was that the glasses made work, and work well. I wish there was a larger selection of frames covered by insurance, but that obviously has nothing to do with Cross River Eye Care. Nice place. read more

I first visited Cross River Eye Care about a week ago when I came in a few minutes before closing on a Friday, to see if they could possibly adjust eyewear that I had NOT purchased from them. The woman who greeted me was super helpful and courteous, and she quickly alleviated the headache I'd been getting from tight frames. I then booked an appointment for three days later for a (much overdue) annual exam with Dr. David Weinberger, OD, whom I had never met. They were nothing but accommodating and had very reasonable rates for a client with no vision insurance. I was told the cost for everything up-front and it was accurate. Dr. Weinberger was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He took the time to thoroughly discuss everything with me, and I am never short on follow-up questions for medical professionals. I did not see any other doctor working in the few times I have visited, so I believe the previous reviewer had a bad experience with a FORMER associate. Cross River Eye Care has continued to provide prompt, amiable service, and I am very happy with my new eye care provider! I came here because CREC carries the Silhouette frame collection. They also have an amazing array of many other great frames to choose from. The staff was friendly, professional and oh-so helpful. They had my prescription called in from another optometrist where I had my eye exam done, expedited the insurance forms and called me promptly when the glasses were ready. My new glasses were adjusted and I was fitted better then anywhere else I have ever been. I'm very particular about the way my glasses fit. I was encouraged to wear them for a few days and return if I needed any other adjustments which I did. Happy to say they feel perfect. Highly recommended them! read more

Completely UNprofessional and blatently RUDE is how I would describe Dr. Gagliotti. And that will be the first and last time I refer to him as Dr. Because he sure does not act like one. Nor does he act like a business owner who cares about his patients/customers whatsoever. He is the one in the pic in the middle. I dont know if his business partners know how he treats ppl but maybe they should pay attention. I went to Cross River Eyecare 2 years ago for an eye exam and found gagliotti to be uncaring and unprofessional then. But its the closest place to me, so this year when I needed more contacts I figured I would give them another shot. Maybe I'll get someone else or possibly he was having a bad day. NO gagliotti is just as rude and obnoxious as he was the previous year. I showed up at 12:40 for a 12:30 appointment and apologized to the girl at the desk explaining my car wouldn't start. She says no problem. gagliotti walks out and stands behind her looking over her shoulder never once even looking at me. No hi or how are you. he is looking down at the desk, out the window, at the ceiling and at his watch. The first words he says to me is follow me, then sit down, then any problems with your lenses. Its obviously his first appointment of the day because when he goes to turn on the machine for the exam. The bulb is burnt out and it doesn't work. I sit in silence for at least ten minutes while he tries, unsuccessfully to repair it. Then all he says is you'll have to come back some other time. I explain I'm on my last pair of lenses and need some. His solution is a pair of mismatched lenses that are NOT my prescription. I go home and call 1800contacts and they are ready to send me 1 box for each eye until I can get the exam. All gagliooti has to do is OK it. But he blocks it. For no other reason but because he Can. 1800contacts actually calls me the next day to tell me they have called the office and the machine is fixed. No one from CrossRiver Eyecare bothered to call. Now the Best Part. I call the office to find out why they have not called me, why he blocked 1800contacts, and why he is so uncooperative and unprofessional. I ask the girl if gagliotti treats everybody this way or if he just has a problem with me. Maybe he just has a problem with ppl who dont have eyecare insurance, or maybe he's just a jerk. She apologizes for him like she is used to doing it. I tell her its not her fault. Then she says he just came in. I think he was listening the whole time because he gets on the phone in a rage. I ask him the same questions about his poor attitude and complete lack of courtesy and Now I'm in a yelling match on the phone with the owner/doctor. Very Professional ! He actually has the balls to say "I'd like to see you come down here and say this to my face" Well I mistook this for balls, because when I show up 15 mins later. He is not waiting outside for me like I expected. No he is inside Behind his little counter with not 1 but 2 cops in the store. Not exactly the actions of a man who wants you to come down and say it to his face. In front of the police he is now calm and sweet voiced although condescending and still rude. Probably in an attempt to get me to react in front of cops. But I dont, I take the loose contacts that he gave me, and tell him what a great guy he is. Worst customer service I have ever come across in any situation including restaurants. I have never felt the need to bash a bad rest online. But gagliotti is a terrible doctor/business owner and I suspect a miserable human being. I would never recommend this poorly run business to anyone. I would never give them a dime of my money. I ended up going all the way to Brewster for my eye exam at a very nice place called Raymond Opticians. Great experience, great doctor, very nice ppl Cross River Eyecare is Deplorable ! read more

I've been going to Cross River Eye Care for many years. Dr. Gaglioti is great - I have never felt rushed and I feel like he has my best interests at heart. I have found him to be both thorough and knowledgeable. He takes the time to make full explanations and offer options. He has also been great with both of my kids who wore glasses and now contacts.
