I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Andrea Kaiser, the ophthalmologist at Rose Hill Ophthalmology, whose professionalism and expertise quite literally saved my life over eight years ago. During a routine examination, Dr. Kaiser noticed an anomaly on the retina of my left eye. Recognizing the seriousness of what she observed, she immediately referred me to a specialist in retinal conditions. That referral led me to an advanced specialist who confirmed that the anomaly was, in fact, a melanoma -- a type of cancer. I was then referred to a surgeon in New York City who specializes in treating retinal cancer. The treatment involved a cutting-edge procedure in which a radioactive disc was placed on my eye. Fortunately, because of Dr. Kaiser's timely detection and insistence that I seek further evaluation, the cancer had not metastasized to other parts of my body. Her vigilance and dedication made it possible to treat the condition before it became life-threatening. I am profoundly grateful for Dr. Kaiser's diligence, care, and commitment to her patients.Quite simply, her expertise and quick action saved my life. I'm so happy to have found this place! Dr. Kaiser is so kind and funny; she made getting an eye exam a breeze. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helped me understand what my insurance covered. The store has a great selection of glasses at varying price points so there is something for everyone. The best part is Dr. Kaiser's adorable dog, Stella, that she brings to work with her everyday. I will definitely be returning for my yearly eye exams! read more

ZERO STARS!!! Worst experience of my life. If you want a proper eye exam and to be seen by a doctor with a consistent bedside manner, DO NOT see Dr. Andrea Kaiser... unless you are willing to fork over money with a smile, and not question anything. For three years, Dr. Kaiser provided me with a prescription that left me unable to see clearly. Initially, Dr, Kaiser seemed to want to help but gave me a hard time when I questioned it more than once. I almost failed my DMV eye test which prompted me to seek another provider. I knew something was wrong! I had to stop driving at night years ago. Even with the "driving glasses" Dr. Kaiser prescribed, I couldn't see properly. Dr. Kaiser stopped addressing me and had the desk girls answer my questions even though I told them Dr. Kaiser should come out of the back of the establishment to speak with me. I was made to feel like a nuisance. My new eye doctor performed a THOROUGH examination with state-of-the-art equipment. He LISTENED to me. HE CARED. I spent an hour with him. Dr. Kaiser's exam was always a fraction of an hour. My new prescription is SO FAR OFF from what I was given at Mount Pleasant Vision Center and I can see! When looking for a provider, ask if they have an autorefractor along with an auto lensometer. If the provider does not use these, RUN. This equipment was not used on me at Mount Pleasant Vision Center. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, YOUR TIME OR PUT YOUR EYESIGHT IN THE HANDS OF DR. ANDREA KAISER. read more

Stay away!! I had an eye exam in may and didn't pick up my contact lenses until September. The staff continued to mess up the order over 4 different times. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes. Instead they blame it on "back order." There is no communication on their end. Time for a reality check for the whole staff. Title: A Frustrating Experience at Mount Pleasant Vision Center run by Dr. Andrea Kaiser, OD I recently visited Mount Pleasant Vision Center to obtain my first prescription. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Let me walk you through the details: The Speedy Test: * The testing seemed to be a rushed approach which made me uneasy, especially for my first eye checkup. * I decided to order a set of Oakley eyeglasses with non-glare transitional lenses. To ensure they would be polarized, I called back and asked. The response was vague: "Yes, they are non-glare." I explained that non-glare and polarization are not the same. Unfortunately, it seemed neither the person I spoke to nor the person she checked with understood the difference. Picking Up the Glasses: When my glasses were ready, I went to pick them up. Using my polarized Maui Jim sunglasses, I quickly realized that my new glasses were not polarized. Despite my reservations, I decided to keep them. Double Vision and Regret: At home, I noticed double vision in one eye while looking at a large monitor with a white line. Reflecting on the rushed eye test, I realized I should have slowed down the process during my appointment. Revisiting the Office: I scheduled another visit to address the issue. The doctor was less pleasant this time and readjusted my prescription. I also shared my experience with her staff's lack of knowledge about polarized lenses. She assured me her staff knew what a polarized lens was and how to test for it. And jokingly added, "If they didn't, she would have to fire them". The Polarization Dilemma: Being my prescription needed to be redone, I asked if my glasses could be made polarized. The doctor promised to check with a lens company and get back to me. Days passed, and I didn't receive a callback. I followed up and was told they could indeed make them polarized--for an extra $150. I thought it was expensive but to her to move forward with the order. Testing the Glasses Again: When notified that the glasses were ready, I returned to the office. Using my Maui Jim sunglasses, I tested them once more. The receptionist insisted they were polarized, but I disagreed. She again said that they were and I told her they were not and I could prove it. She walked away, seemingly uninterested in my proof. The Technician's Verdict: Ten minutes later, a technician informed me they could refund my money. In a well-run office, the technician would have checked the glasses properly. With simple science, there are two straightforward ways to confirm polarization: 1. Maui Jim Display: Look at an image in their display using polarized lenses--you'll see a colorful bird. 2. Lens Test: Hold two polarized lenses in front of each other; turning one will darken the image. Lack of Accountability: Instead of apologizing and addressing the mistake, the staff claimed the glasses were polarized and didn't even care to have me show them. The purposefully did not want me to prove it to them. I wondered if they would have charged me $150 if I hadn't known better. Final Thoughts: Mount Pleasant Vision Center lacks high standards for both the doctor and her staff. Education and willingness to learn seem absent, leaving patients frustrated. Follow-up: Two days later I received a call from the office manager, she informed me that the polarization only happens when the lens transitions to dark. Indoors they would not polarize, only outside i.e. on a sunny day. This could have all been avoided if someone in the office simply explained that to me when I went to pick them up. read more

The worst place for quality eye care. Was rushed through the exam by Andrea, she missed an issue I was complaining about. Supposedly she dilated my eyes but didn't give time for it to take effect before examining me. The dog & their lunch meal ranks higher than customers. Staff is inept and rude and the girl with the shrill voice is condescending and dismissive. They don't listen to concerns, they don't custom fit. They rush through every part of the process and basically waste your money. AVOID! read more

If you want any honesty, stay away from this place. They hand out rebate vouchers which help drive your decision to purchase and then when the voucher doesn't work, they say to contact the company directly - "they can't do anything". Worst customer experience I have ever experienced. Not too many places that end with "nothing we can do". They aren't in the business of caring, just ripping you off. Stay away. read more

Dr Kaiser is the BEST! She takes the time to explain everything, and talks to you like a *normal person*... not condescending, like SO many other doctors. Prices are very affordable, and they help you work with insurance to get as much covered as possible. Steve and the rest of the staff are always nice, and very patient when you're picking out frames! Worth traveling from other towns to pay them a visit. As long as Dr K is in business, I'll only go see her for my glasses. read more

Horrible place with terrible care. Staff will waste your time, don't know what they are doing- Dr.Kaiser will do a quick exam, in and out. You will not be able to reach her via phone. Her patient/ doctor rapport stops after exam. She does not care about her patients truly, this is purely routine for her. SAD! read more

Dr. Kaiser and her team were fantastic. So friendly and helpful from the eye exam to picking out glasses. Dr. Kaiser was great and incredibly patient with my kids (who probably tried on every pair of glasses). She answered every question and never made us feel rushed. Despite having done business with this establishment for many years my last experience was awful. I would be interested in knowing if any other people have had a bad experience with them in the past year or so. Despite having 3 tries at making my glasses I still do not have a pair that gives me good vision. To top it off, last time they changed the lens they tried to charge me again and I am still not seeing properly! I have been wearing glasses since I was about 6 years old and have never had an experience like this before (I am now 81). Anyone else dissatisfied? read more

I decided to go to this vendor because my boss recommended it to me. Now I gave three stars for the variety of frames that this vendor does carry and very accommodating manner but trying to see thru my new reading glasses was horrible! Besides leaving me with a constant headache (right eye lens was very blurry & both lens could not read arm left-length distance...needed to stand or lean forward to read anything from the computer) but right lens were cut noticeably different. I took new glasses back along w/my old pair to change prescription to old pair. Guess will try another location... read more
