"I was really disappointed with my experience at Croton Vision Center. I waited three weeks for my glasses after bringing in my own frame. At first, I was given one price, but when I arrived to pick them up, they added $100 to the fee. I asked why, and they said it was a calculation error. I never received any call or notification about this change. When I asked to see the calculation, they just crossed out the original amount and wrote in a higher number. The young man assisting me blamed the other staff member, but no one could explain the extra charge. In the end, I had to pay it, but I will not return to this business." Very disappointed Had an emergency septic tank issue. We missed our appointment 1st time in 6 years. We spent thousands of dollars on glasses. I asked for a one time courtesy. They waved my husband's 50.00 no show fee but sent me 50.00 fee.. I was so overwhelmed and confused because we had to find a septic company with short notice. It was a huge expense and now 50.00 on top of the septic company bill. Very upset. read more

I enjoyed working with the eye doctor very much. He's knowledgeable, professional and very kind. The wait time was within 10 minutes of my appointment, and he did the exam fairly quickly. The issue was really withe their staff. I was there a few times picking my frames and I already witnessed at least two customers were not happy with them in two different occasions. I didn't realize those were the red flags. I worked with an older overweight lady and a younger guy who kept saying: no worries. Those are the two staffs I would like to warn you to avoid. The older lady was rude and unprofessional and with a sassy attitude, and the younger guy was not trained to work there. So what happened was, they ordered the wrong color of the frame, and it took one extra week to get the correct one. And when I order the lenses they told me the thin ones will be slightly thicker than the ultra thin ones, which was what I currently have. So I decided to go with the ones I don't need to pay out if my pockets. Little did I know, the lenses are double what I have! And they are super heavy. And when I communicated with their staffs, including their store manager, they really tried to trick me and told me they just seem thicker but not really thicker than the ones I have, because I chose frameless eyeglasses, and they also claimed they are thicker because the frames are larger than the one I have, but they are not. So they really just wanted to fool me and told me lies so I would just accept it. This entire store's staffs are disingenuous read more

Amazing service. The Dr. and staff were friendly and helpful. I got my eye exam , frames and lenses super fast. A few months after I got the glasses my frames broke. We went there yesterday late afternoon, no one waiting. A female older woman approached to ask us what we needed...We proceeded to inform her as a regular customer that a spare pair of glasses seemed to have a very tiny crack that made the lens unsecure in the frame. We asked would they be kind enough to assist us. Without any hesitation, she abruptly said there is absolutely nothing that they could do. She would not even take the time to truly look or care to help. She had a distinct superiority sassy attitude ( as another prior reviewer mentioned) Such staff does not belong to work in a store/dr's office where patient/customer interaction is essential to make you feel welcome, relaxed and not like you are bothering them. We went to another local establishment who were more than happy to look and try to repair the small crack in frame without ANY attitude. 5 minutes later - ALL FIXED! We will ensure that Croton Vision Center loses all current and any new customers due to their horrific front staff!! read more

this was my first time going to Croton vision center. I called for an appointment to get a pair of glasses quick because I was having eye surgery the following Wednesday. they fit me in on Friday, checked my eyes and ordered lenses so I would have them Tuesday at the latest. the called and I picked them up Tuesday morning. Dr. Gaglioti was so nice and friendly and explained that the prescription might not be perfect after surgery and he was right. At least I had something to use to be able to see getting home. We waited weeks for an appointment. Arrived to signs stating that you must wear a mask to enter. Maintain social distance. Only 3 people in store at a time. And yet there is a person working there with no mask. A face shield, which does not protect people near her (or her, when worn alone, for that matter). I politely pointed out to someone that she wasn't wearing a mask, and was told I could speak to the manager. Then I was told that I could schedule on a day when she wasn't working. Yup. Nope. I may contract covid by mistake but I'm not going to get it because someone who will be so close to our faces won't follow THEIR OWN protocols. read more

I didn't have to wait at all for my exam. Saw Dr. McCan and he was friendly, efficient, and very helpful. The selection of frames here is great. I had a really hard time choosing. Absolutely inconsiderate of your time! I made an appointment a week in advance for transitional Ray-Ban glasses which they told me would run $500 to $700. I was OK with it. On the day of the appointment they asked for me to show up 15 minutes before hand which would make it 315 for a 330 appointment. I showed up at 10 after three filled out the paperwork and was asked to wait not one, two, but three people walked in straight back to the doctor as I sat in the waiting room at 3:40 I asked if they forgot about me? At this point I was there for a half an hour. At 3:50 I got up And left why I went to another vision center and was almost seated immediately. They never even called me to ask what happened. Shame on them to be so careless of your time!!! There ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO WILL BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR TIME. GO ELSEWHERE! read more

I had purchased glasses that changed with the sun light. After 2 years, the glasses no longer changed with the sun and got foggy. I was a customer there for over 10 years. When I brought the glasses back wanting replacement lens, I was told that the manufacture only warrants the glasses for a year. In addition, I was told that I should not have left the glasses in the car. I was never told that the heat would ruin the glasses. I believe that the glasses should have been replaced at no cost to me. I did not get any satisfaction and I will not return to Croton Vision Center. read more

The staff was remarkably rude and condescending. At this point (6/2021) mask restrictions and Covid policies are being loosened. The staff treated each person as if they were infected and went as far as making me and my children wait outside in the sweltering heat Because supposedly they had reached their "legal" capacity (just to add, I only saw two people in the showroom). When my child went in for her eye exam (she is turned 11) he spoke directly to her about her treatment and her issues. I appreciate my daughter being included and well informed regarding her vision issues, but as her PARENT I also need to understand her diagnosis, her treatment and how she needs to wear her glasses going forward. I had to stop the doctor, and ask him to include me in this conversation (because he had his back to me as he spoke to my 11-year-old child) so I could have the opportunity to ask questions to learn more about my daughters vision diagnosis. When we went to the front counter to look at the frames covered under our plan, the associate was rude and condescending. When my daughter and I asked her to please readjust the tray she was showing us, she basically rolled her eyes. The angle at which she was displaying the eyewear (mind you it was also behind a safety glass) she looked annoyed - meanwhile neither myself or my daughter could see the tray that she was holding. I have never felt so awkward, and uncomfortable in a medical "professionals" office. In order for my daughter to remove her mask and look at herself in a mirror, she had to go outside and look in a mirror outside. My other daughter moved her mask to the side to take a sip of water from the water bottle and was promptly scolded By the associate. It is June 2021, many people are vaccinated, covid is much better understood and controlled, government is loosening and adjusting Covid rules. This place?!? Made us feel like we were in the midst of quarantine and the epidemic. ABSOLUTE overkill. I also believe that I was judged due to my appearance (I looked pretty haggard after a days work) over the phone the extensive conversation that I had with the associate was very very pleasant. When she realized at the end of our visit that I was the same woman that she spoke with on the phone her attitude changed significantly. It was a horrible experience from start to finish. Spent months - literally months - trying to get the right frame and prescription from them. I had an examination by one of the opticians and got lenses based on his prescription, but whoever ordered them did so with the wrong numbers and they had to be re-done; two other times, the prescription was wrong and had to be re-done after having to get a new prescription from the optician. The people who work here are very nice and some are helpful, but some are either uninformed or just plain chose to give me incorrect information. For example, in discussing what lenses to order, I told the technician that I did not want an anti-reflective coating from a particular manufacturer because I had problems with that coating in the past. So that person told me, more than once, to get the coating from another specific-name company - it turns out that was the same company, just the parent company - same coating that I said I did not want. I ordered a frame in a specific color and even printed out all the information about the frame including the color model number and gave it to them - when the frame arrived I said it was the wrong color yet I was told over and over by a technician that that's the right color. I looked at the model number on the frame and showed them that it was incorrect and had to wait again for the correct frame to be ordered. The optician told me I should get high-index lenses so that's what was ordered, along with a light-darkening treatment; they later called me to tell me that high-index lenses were not available in my prescription with the light-darkening feature -- ok, fine, the helpful person on the phone told me to get polycarbonate and that's what was ordered. No problem there. But I had already paid them for high-index lenses which cost considerably more. No refund was ever offered to me by anyone. After the entire transaction was completed and I had new glasses and paid in full, no refund was mentioned. Only when I saw the explanation of benefits from VSP did I learn that I overpaid. I pointed that out to them and they gave me the appropriate refund. Nice people, bad service. read more

I was very dissatisfied with the service here, mainly from the receptionists and frame specialists. It took awhile to be acknowledged when I stepped up to the desk and I HAD TO ASK if there was any paperwork I needed to fill out before my appointment. The woman helping me choose frames was very opinion-based and did not respect my choices, judging the ones I really liked and saying certain ones looked "grandma" when I actually liked the style. I spent awhile choosing frames and she clearly displayed annoyance and impatience. I ended up choosing frames I wasn't 100% happy with because she was pressuring me with her attitude. I called up and had them cancel my request. At least I got a decent eye exam out of this terrible visit, Dr. McCann was excellent, friendly, and positively quirky. read more

I came here for an eye exam and new glasses. The doctor is super efficient, friendly, and we had great chats; ironically about customer service, being that we both work retail. However, his staff is not a good reflection of his standards. There's maybe two nice women who work there out of the 5 women total. You aren't greeted, you aren't even acknowledged when you walk up to the front desk until you say "excuse me" and make it known that you have an appointment. The glasses provided are also cheap. Not cheap in price, but cheap in quality. I spent $400 (ouch, didn't realize how much they were til they billed me because I'm oblivious-my fault) on glasses that fell off my face at work and broke after 4 days of wear. I've had way cheaper glasses that have never broke before and I've had them for 6+ years. When I calmly spoke to an assistant about it and provided my receipt and tried to explain to her that I'd like New glasses, she told me that there was nothing she could do and that it was MY fault that they fell off my face and broke. She changed the lenses for free but now I'm stuck with a pair of expensive glasses I'm too afraid to wear in fear that they'll just break again. Definitely never purchasing glasses here again, lesson learned. read more
