I felt confident I was in good hands. After missing my bike for a few days, I realized I had no receipt or proof that I had handed over my bike. I remembered something about an email receipt but couldn't find one, so I called. Got their automated phone reply that they would call me. No call. Still missing my bike desperately and worrying about no receipt I called again. Same automated reply that they would call me. On day 10, the estimated finish date, I went down to the shop and parked in the loading dock area and tried to get in. Couldn't so I called, surprisingly they answered, and served up a little attitude about a front door. Whatever! A shorter gentleman let me in and said he hadn't called me back yet, as they are closed on Mondays, it was Tuesday, and the earlier call was not returned either. He let me know the parts just came in and it would probably be done that day. No call. I got an automated text that my bike was ready for pick up...after they had closed for the day. I picked up the following day. Same shorter guy with attitude but I did see the nicer original guy. He apparently doesn't have an issue with people coming and going out the loading dock area and allowed me to take my bike that way, unfortunately I wasn't parked back there, due to attitude guy from day before. The guy with polka dot socks is super nice too. Overall a good experience, and my bike has never been so clean... one star reduction for attitude and no call backs.

They have a store with food/drinks, towels etc.. but they tell you in advance that you can pick it up elsewhere. They helped us carry our bags over to the perfectly clean and well maintained boat complete with our own captain who was incredible!!!!! Ask for Steve-O!!!! I do believe no matter who you get as a captain that you will have an amazing experience as we did. Steve-O was friendly and great with our 4 1/2 year-old. He provided just the right amount of history and information as we rode along and also took us to less touristy places that were also beautiful and so worth seeing. We cannot wait to come back and see Lake Tahoe boat rides next summer, and we will definitely be asking for Steve-O.

Morning walks around the golf paths when the course is closed. 2. Attending special events at the Supper Club building. 3. Enjoying an occasional afternoon/early evening nosh and libation at the "19th hole" 4. Before golf course management switched to paid staff, I was a volunteer here. Most of that work was positioning and cleaning golf carts, including an occasional tip. There was also trash pickup, supplying balls to the driving range, and managing tee times at Hole #1. Oddly enough, Gayle and I don't play golf, despite the urgings of friends and family who do here. As a first step, lessons might be in our future.

The best part of the experience is that there was a beverage cart on a Thursday...to distract me from the course conditions.

Okay, so let's get this out of the way--I'm not your typical reviewer. I could probably count the number of reviews I've written on one hand... without even taking off my shoes! So, CrossFit--yeah, we've all heard about it. Maybe you've already formed some opinions (like I did). So when my wife asked me to join her at CrossFit Ampersand, I was a little more than skeptical. I mean, I'm a former athlete, Marine, and currently an active coach. What could CrossFit possibly teach me? And with my crazy busy schedule running my own practices and work, I had no idea how I'd even find the time to squeeze this in. Also, let's be real--since hitting 40, I've packed on a few (okay, a lot) of extra pounds around the middle. Tried a few fad diets with zero luck. So, when I walked into Ampersand, I was fully expecting yet another disappointment. But then... boom! I'm met with two awesome trainers who clearly had done their homework (they knew my rep, obviously ). They walked me through the form, technique, and all that good stuff--honestly, as a coach, I really appreciated their attention to detail. The positive feedback and the correction to improve my form? Yeah, I was into it. After completing the OnRamp program (fancy intro stuff to make sure you don't break yourself on day one), I actually felt confident. They even helped me figure out how to fit classes into my insane schedule. Now, let me paint a picture of my mindset before that first real class: Will I fit in? Is this gonna be too hard? What if my old injuries flare up? Oh, and let's not forget, "I'm overweight and out of shape, I'll last a month tops, then peace out." Well, guess what? Six months later... I'm STILL here! So, what's the deal? Why Ampersand? One word: the people! From day one, I felt welcomed--no judgment, no shame. They meet you where you are, and they help you get to where you want to be. No, you won't be crushing the RX workout on day one (I sure wasn't), but the scaling options make sure you're still getting a killer workout at your level. And the community? Everyone's been where I was, and their stories, their encouragement--that's what keeps me walking through those doors day after day. So yeah, I'm still here, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. read more

This place is amazing. They provide you with the best tools to succeed. I started not knowing anything about CrossFit. And very afraid to start. I felt so welcomed right away. The education they provided me before starting classes left me feeling totally comfortable. The environment is so supportive all of the coaches look out for you and make sure that you feel comfortable in the movements and at the day I seriously was so impressed. I love the place. I loved the fellow gym members and I loved all of the coaches.. the owners are so kind and motivating . Great CrossFit gym. Convenient location in the heart of Gardnerville. Several class times to fit into my busy schedule so I can make class when I'm able. Very clean facility, nice equipment, and good space for each member to workout in. The coaches are professional and very friendly. The other members are welcoming and friendly as well. I have been attending this gym for about 6 months. Harmony and Jeff are fantastic coaches.... They take the time to make sure you are lifting and performing all the movements correctly. All the people here are friendly and very supportive no matter what your fitness level. The coaches are great and will teach you good form and will design "scaled" workouts for your fitness level. You will find that in a group setting, you will push yourself a little more and obtain a better fitness level at a quicker pace than if you just relied on yourself to workout. Each workout ("WOD") is different every time you go so there is no daily boring routine. I was amazed how my cardio fitness level improved and the amount of weight I could lift improved quickly. They tailor their workouts for the individuals either in a class or solo. The personal training is really great. It teaches you how to properly stretch and the proper way to lift weights. I have poor hearing and wear hearing aids, except when I go inside the Parkway. Even without my hearing aids the music is too loud. I have complained to the staff and they ignore the request to turn it down.
