Overall good gym. Clean, plenty of equipment, and nice amenities. However, the cell phone usage is extreme and out-of-control. Many members just sit on the machines/benches and spend more time on the phone than using the equipment. Cell phone use must be banned in this gym, for sure. read more

I'm happy to report that Vim & Vigor continues to be my 'go to' for fitness and training here is Carson City. I've been working out at V&V for 8 months now and I continue to make gains in strength and ability. Offering a wide variety of equipment - both free weights and machines - since joining last fall, the gym has added new pieces and keeps existing machines in good repair. The gym is super clean, offers a friendly environment and the staff pleasant and helpful. Two Sunday's in a row you go to the gym and no one shows up to have the gym opened up. A-lot of people who want to work out end up leaving!!

I've been a member since it opened and I work out 5 days a week regardless of the weather. Lately I've noticed gym equipment not getting repaired in a timely manner and the bathroom is discussing. Great gym but cell phone use in the weight machine area needs to be banned. Several people tying up machines while looking at their phone. It's not a chair. The local manager will not deal with this. Apparently corporate does not have a customer service. read more

Might be moving to Carson City which is why I went here. For true gym rats, this is the only viable place in town. 6-8 squat areas, no dedicated deadlift platform but ample space. 1 hexbar for shrugs/deadlift in addition to straight bars. Dumbbells only up to 110 and no decline barbell bench but they did have numerous utility bench's that can incline/decline. Didn't try to use chalk and didn't see anyone else using, but I saw no sign prohibiting it. Just about everything else most lifters will need. No towel service and 2 showers, which may be adequate for this size of place. Have to bring your own lock for the lockers. Locker room was clean. I've been a member since the gym opened...used to be super clean and well maintained...not any more....past 2 weeks the cleaning lady has been on vacation and the gym and (men's) bathroom is filthy....I can't understand why management decided that the gym did not need to be cleaned simply because cleaning staff is on vacation...it's gross, dirty and sad to see this great gym go downhill.. If you are thinking of joining, be sure to notice the lights that are burned out in the bathroom, the sticky dirty floors in the gym, the mirrors with huge streaks in them.... read more

Been a member for a few years now, but it's just not practical to workout here anymore. Way too crowded, and only one of each machine. Seems like the place has become overrun with high school kids who just hang around blocking weights and machines without using them. I have tried going in at different times, but it still requires too much waiting to get through a workout. I used to really like this gym, but now I'm pretty disappointed with it. The tanning and red light booths both usually have missing or burned out bulbs, and a long line to use them. read more

I attended this gym as a guest on two occasions and it was great. Had excellent weight workout area. I used the treadmill, which they had plenty of, and it was great. The staff were great and welcoming. Overall a great experience. read more

Horrific customer service. I moved to Vermont in December and called to cancel my $14.99 per month membership. I received an additional charge in January, and called. They said to send an email canceling my membership, and that they would reverse the charges. I did this. I received another email requesting additional months charge and late fees. I called and the agent said that they would cancel the charges and close the account. I now have received another email, notice that they don't state that I called V&V in December. They agree that I did send them the email back in Jan 22nd. But not that the agent I spoke with agreed to cancel the other charges, as I had called V&V in December, but was not asked to send an email. The email in January they agree I sent. So this would be two months at $14.99, if they do not honor the other agent's statement that she reversed the charges and closed the account. Now the charges are $86.37, how is that? This company is very corrupt and you should NOT join! Buyer be ware! A well equipped gym in the southern part of Carson City, Vim has the machine assortment for your workout. There is a calisthenics area, large free weight area, multiple squat racks and plenty of cardio machines. read more

This is a terrible gym. Way too many kids standing over machines, blocking their use, taking selfies and chatting with their friends instead of working out. Dont even try to go work out after work, the place is packed. There is a male trainer that works there that loves to try his intimidating stare down on other male patrons. He's ridiculous. Also, the customer service is horrific. Make sure you really understand the contract you get yourself into. I got an "introductory" promotional account and they immediately started charging me all kinds of "fees", so my $5 a month account went to $80 in two months. I tried to cancel and they want another $50 to do that! On a $5 promotional account. They are predators! read more

Vim & Vigor is a clean gym with lots of strength training and cardio equipment to choose from. It even has a turf area in the middle of the gym where you can foam roll and stretch. Decided to try a new gym with my daughter. I like that this gym is not crowded and the staff are very friendly.

David, the club manager made me feel right at home as soon as I walked in. Him and his staff were respectful, professional, and eager to help me get checked in. I am completely satisfied with all of the employees and trainers. I have been to many gyms in my life and Vim + Vigor already is one of the top on my list. It was clean, organized and well kept. The weights and equipment are nice and situated well. The lighting and atmosphere, although it may not be important to all, is very nice and flattering. With high ceilings and a fresh, updated look, the gym is a place I can see myself working out in in the future. read more

This is the only gym for me when I'm visiting in Carson area. Equipment clean and functional, no "scheduled for maintenance signs" here. Huge selections to satisfy any workout you choose. Staff always friendly. Today I was greeted by Casey and bought my 1 week pass. I am a guy more interested in quality of service and quality of the product than the price. I switched to this gym in august because it was newer at the time the led lights and new equipment caught my eye and so did the pricing! Enrollment was very easy and everything seemed to be flowing nicely i did have to drive about 25 minutes to get there but at the time it was worth it until about a month ago, for months i had been bringing in guests with me that's the only reason i payed for the 25$ package and one day when asking for help checking my guest in the manager told me that i couldn't and that i could only bring guests in on the weekend. I have about 5 coworkers who also have a membership there and they said that they were also unaware of this rule, wich makes me think we were purposefully not told to attract more customers. which ofcourse upset me because it felt like a scam the next time i brought a guest in i checked in and my guest followed me only to look behind us and see an employee chase after us ! he told me (very loudly) my guest had to sign in aswell and completely embarrassed her infront of all the people in that gym. he walked us all the way back to the front and i explained she had the 3 day free guest pass and he had to ask for help because he didn't know how to check her in. this experience was completely horrible and it led me to cancel my membership. this gym was relatively always clean except that they don't enforce cleaning gym equipment after use and no one does so i remember cleaning a machine and the wipe coming out almost brown. very unpleasant experience. read more

Great gym, equipment, and staff. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the women's sinks in the locker room. The corners of the sinks are filled with mold and the hardware on the sinks are filthy. Also, the water fountains are gross and probably filled with bacteria. I have been a member for 7 months and this continues to be an issue. read more

The whole atmosphere of the place when you walk in is just crazy cool. Everyone is super nice and it doesn't feel crammed like fitness for 10. The associate Hannon was super friendly and very knowledgeable not only on the memberships and prices but also overall fitness.
