If a movement is done incorrectly they'll coach you on the correct way to do the workout. Everyone is super humble and love to be healthy and fit. Such a friendly and approachable CrossFit gym for a newbie like myself! I completed the intro to CrossFit program with Lohgan and she was patient, kind, and so great at coaching. I have tried CrossFit in the past but the environment was not conducive to learning so I was pretty sheepish when deciding to try it again. I couldn't be happier with this gym. I first started at Crossfit Bangarang about 4 months ago. The trainers, atmosphere, coaching and equipment are amazing. I used to train at a few other local spots and have done drop-ins all over the country, that being said, this gym is by far my favorite! Clean, good equipment that is always being updated and the passion in the trainers is what sells it for me. I first started going to Bangarang because my old box in Reno was too far to drive after I moved. I was going to a global gym for about 9 months and thought it was time to get back in to Crossfit. I got lost as I walked in the front door, this place is gigantic. Came here for the Crossfit box crawl and had a great time. The facilities have a very high ceilings, atmosphere is bright and reasonably clean and the staff seems pretty friendly. They have a good assortment of equipment, weight, rigs and floor surfaces for different training. Programming for the workout was tough but good and we had a great time! read more

We moved here from Colorado over the summer and were looking for a new Crossfit gym. Iain and Laura, the owners, were super accommodating when we were here visiting before we moved and let us check it out as well as when we finally moved they gave us a trial to make sure we would be happy. I can say we are thrilled to be a part of the Bangarang family and our whole family joined, kids included! The coaches are knowledgeable and friendly and always willing to work with you. The athletes are awesome and welcoming. Some past gyms we've been to have been very cliquey and I wouldn't look forward to going. I don't get this feeling ever when I walk into the gym here. The equipment is nice and they are always adding more. I really enjoy the programming, it is a good mix of lifting and high intensity workouts throughout the week. read more

This is a great facility which has grown from strength to strength over the past 4 - 5 years. The space has expended significantly over that time. It is located in a much larger gym which provides access to a lot of space when the weather is not cooperating. Beyond the normal bars and bumpers CrossFit Bangarang has a lot of non-standard equipment - Yoke, Assault Bikes, Logs, Atlas Stones, Hammers, etc. - which provide for a lot of great variance in the workouts. The rig is huge and the overall space supports a class of 20+ with ease. The community which has formed is fantastic and the atmosphere differentiates this location from a lot of other CrossFit gyms I have visited. It is not uncommon to see new members from other CrossFit locations. The trainers are great, but the more experienced members will also step in and provide guidance and support in areas where they have expertise. It also does not hurt to have regional athletes setting the pace and providing motivation! Prices are super competitive for the area - especially given the excellent quality and facility. The gym is super friendly and very open to visiting crossfitters. A great place to drop-in - and they use Wodify. There is no issue with parking and there is also a drop off space for kids (as well as CrossFit for Kids every Saturday morning). read more

Crossfit Bangarang​ is a fantastic CrossFit​ gym here in Reno. The facility itself is constantly improving and growing but as it stands today, this gym is incredibly nice and has all that you would want or expect from a CrossFit gym and a bit extra. The things that make a great CrossFit gym, however, are not the bits and bobs as far as equipment goes but it is the trainers and the community and that is what really sets Bangarang apart. The coaches are all fantastic, from gym owners Ian and Laura all the way through the rest of the coaches. They are all incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating while holding you accountable and making sure you are putting forth the best effort to get the best results. The community is equally as incredible. I attend a handful of classes throughout the week at various times to fit with my crazy schedule but every class has an amazing, supportive group of people that push you, no matter what your level. There are some things I am better at than others but when I am struggling, there is always someone a) making sure my form is correct so I don't hurt myself and b) giving me advice or encouragement to help me get through the tough workout. This is an amazing CrossFit gym that I am thankful to have become a part of. No matter your level, you will do amazing things here and you will find people to push you and support you on your fitness journey. If you are coming into town and just need a great gym to get a workout at, this place is awesome but for those of you who live here, I couldn't recommend​ this place more highly. read more

Ian Dykins is an absolute master at getting you fit. I have tried many other trainers and none compare to Ian. He never does the same exercise for each training session. He is super friendly and caring, but tough and pushes you to excel. Through Ian, I was able to lose 30lbs and at 46 years old was in the best shape of my life. Starting in December of 2016, I did quite a bit of traveling eating great foods and beer! I also incurred a couple of injuries (not through exercising) and had to take time off since January from exercising, and gained back the weight. Just went back in to see Ian again and as always very welcoming and understood my goal of needing to drop the 30lbs., and also have a goal of completing a Spartan sprint race in November of 2017. The gym is awesome and all the small group trainings are very welcoming and everyone encourages each other. Tough workouts, but well worth the gains. The best part, I can get bored easily, but because he changes up the workouts so much, it makes me keeping coming back! read more

CrossFit Bangarang is fun. The gym is clean. The trainers are welcoming, friendly and focused on technique, safety and results. As a 55 year old man who gets bored easily, CrossFit keeps the workouts interesting, intense and after a few weeks, I can already feel results. It will take a while to get where I want, but this is a kick ass workout environment. The class participants and trainers encourage you to push yourself further than you would if you worked out alone. A little extra push can go a long way. After years as a gym rat, it can be challenging to find new ways to exercise and seeking alternatives to workout ruts. It is refreshing how this gang consistently introduces new exercises and intensity. Additionally, it doesn't hurt that others in your class add an element of competition. Take it at your own pace.
