Not only am I stronger than I was as a division 1 college athlete 20 years ago, but I can do things I would never had tried or thought of trying. Because crossfit is a community that moves, I have never felt embarrassed or out of place. I started crossfit because I was bored at a regular gym and needed a fresh approach to my fittness. Everything is fresh and creative here. I knew a couple in their 70's who tried crossfit after years of doing triathlons and they said they recovered quicker and had better times. So crossfit is worth a try for any athlete. I can't say enough about this gym. The coaches are excellent and patient. They focus on doing the movements correctly instead of quickly. The program is challenging no matter what your fittness level. You will get fit. I have a toddler who loves to come and play with friends. The members are friendly and encouraging. It's a great place to try it out or perfect your fittness.

As a long time member, Fitness 500 periodically has staffing issues when the employee that opens up…read morethe gym at 5:00 am or 6:00 am (weekend) does not show up. This leaves a dozen+ members waiting in the parking lot guessing when the doors will open or if they should go home. And honestly, things happen it's about how a business handles them that tells the story. That is where this review starts... For the 2nd time this month the person opening the gym no showed. Instead of Fitness 500 using this as an opportunity to go above and beyond or wow members they instead get defensive, testy, and full of excuses. The manager, 'L' may be a fine personal trainer but needs to spend more time learning how to speak to the public when such situations arise (this coming from a career executive who cringes when I read 'L's' emails other members share with me). Heaven forbid Fitness 500 would credit dedicated early morning members, but a simple stand at the door the next morning and proactively apologize would go a long way. Send an email, facebook post, or do something PROACTIVELY to acknowledge the frustration instead of waiting on members to contact you upset. Imagine if you wrote an email to Fitness 500 with your frustration and the next time you came in they said grab a drink from the cooler 'on us' for your trouble. THAT is customer service. THAT is wowing your customers, THAT is something memorable that members share with other members instead of people pissed off talking trash to one another about how poor Fitness 500 customer service is. And lastly.. when the owner gets involved, STOP yelling at members. Multiple members have shared this. We WANT Fitness 500 to be successful. WE WANT to have a fun gym community. Fitness 500 has every opportunity to come out shining in a unfortunate situation that seems to be reoccurring. But fails to do so each time and instead puts down members encouraging them to cancel. I didn't even mind that. So it's something to learn no big whoop. But the problem was his daughter an employee told me I would not be charged and still...I wasn't upset about this....but...after awhile of just being yelled at bc Rocky just yells at people I told him I was going by what his employee told me but whatever how do we move forward? I just wanted to get to the other side where I was even clear about what was happening next. I just got yelled at. when he used the f word (for no reason I'm trying to get along and diffuse, not fight) I just started thinking, "you run a business bro. this is how you treat your customers? brow beat them and try to make them feel bad for listening to your employees?" customer service was like from the 70s. no sense. no respect. after being yelled at enough I told him to cancel my membership I don't want to freeze. now I'm wondering if I'll be getting the refund check he's supposed to supply next week. seems like the type of place that will try to screw me over on that too. don't go here.

I have been to huge classes where you feel like you'll never bump into anyone or run out of particular pieces of equipment which is awesome. The programming is great and the coaches are friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Ross gets you set-up and is incredibly knowledgable. He helps modify exercises and address any injuries. Originally, we came to him via my 12 year-olds hockey instructor to help rehab after knee surgery and get ready for the season. Then, my whole family of 6 decided to workout together and it is a highlight of our summer. We range in age from 6 to 40+ and it's appropriate & fun for all of us. My boys get their pre-season sports and agility training.
