My 5 / 6 year old, despite being fairly athletic, wasn't able to do at least half of them due to the need to stretch far, be taller, etc. If you go on a super slow open gym time, there's usually plenty of employees working who are willing to help... but I did find that some of them really have no idea how to interact with smaller kids. (one was using phrases like "Gravitational pull" and "momentum" when trying to explain things to a 4 year old... ehhhhhhhh) Also, CAN WE PLEASE GET A CHANGING TABLE HERE? For heaven's sakes, it's the middle of winter and no one wants to change a poopy diaper on the floor of a bathroom. It's a KIDS' GYM. That means parents are bringing their families here --- please be 100% family friendly and put a couple changing tables in the bathrooms. Please please please. I wouldn't pay full price, but with a Groupon it's a nice day out of the house when you're stuck inside during winter. Oh, also, BRING YOUR OWN POWDER. Because sweaty little kid hands + hanging obstacles = blisters and ripped open palms. Take my word on it.

This gym is by far one of the best commercial gyms that I have been to. The gym itself is huge, with multiples of every machine so I haven't had to wait for equipment at all, even when I came in the evening. It's clean, not too crowded, and has an amazing amount of dumbbells so you aren't scouring the gym for a certain weight. I've also yet to see any broken or neglected equipment!! They keep the TRX/Yoga room locked for classes, but I talked to the manager on duty about using the room to practice my routine for my upcoming bodybuilding competition & she had no problem letting me use the mirrors in the room as long as I didn't touch any of the already sanitized equipment. The staff here is super friendly, I can't recommend this gym enough. 10/10 service & equipment!!

I love that they have lockers with locks in the main workout area (you do need to bring your own lock for the locker room), although currently many of the lockers are broken so I hope they repair them soon. I've taken quite a few good classes here although the classes do tend to get crowded so you really have to show up early to make sure you have a spot. We also enjoy swimming both in the lap pool and with our son in the zero depth pool. The one frustration I have had is with the adventure room. This is a great indoor playground which my toddler son loves. However, unlike the rest of the facilities, it is covered in dust. I worry that if they aren't maintaining this area, not only is it covered in germs from the children, but they may not be regularly inspecting the safety of the structure. Overall, it seems like a safe playspace but anytime you have kids climbing at such high heights, a piece of broken equipment could become a serious danger. I always watch my son closely and check out the equipment myself while he's playing. The other problem with this area is that although there is an app with schedules, it is frequently incorrect when it comes to the adventure room. The open hours for children under five are very limited and as you can imagine, it is very difficult to get a toddler out of the house, bring him to his favorite place only to have to tell him that it is unexpectedly closed. I have brought up this issue to the staff multiple times, but it still has not been addressed. In general, I would say the Y is worth it, especially if you were planning on utilizing all of the facilities

Not much of a difference but I had to make them fix it and I'm not even sure how that happened as their plans are $20, $30 & $40 a month. Trying to cancel your membership? A fkn nightmare. I spoke to the front desk in April 2026 and they told me my membership expired on 5/27/26 (12 mo contract was up) and would not renew. They gave me an email and number for cancellations and told me to just email to confirm it ended 5/27. I email early May and they said they have a 30 day cancellation policy and I will now be charged an extra month which directly contradicts what the front desk employees told me. To make matters worse, I see a $50 charge on my account, separate from the $30 monthly fee. I assume it was a cancellation fee but there was no mention of any cancellation fee being charged and there shouldn't be one since my contract was up. They do not care about you and only care about getting as much money out of you as possible. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

I signed up for a gym membership with Catalyst in December 2024. In March of 2025, I began having…read morehealth issues as I had a knee injury and would now be unable to go to the gym. I contacted the Catalyst location I had regularly gone to, on Broadway St., in April 2025 and told the gentleman at the front desk that I had torn my meniscus and would be unable to attend the gym. I requested to cancel my membership and was told since it was due to an injury, it would be notated in my account and I would have no future charges. However, they still charged my card again. I called again and explained my injury and that I could not walk or drive. Now, in July Catalyst is saying I have a past due balance, there are no notes on my account and that my membership was never canceled. I emailed Michelle Mesel, who the front desk member of the club my contract was assigned to, said needed to be sent the proof of injury to cancel. I included a doctor's note describing the extent of the injury and why I could not go to the gym, my contract stating I can cancel due to injury, and the actual MRI reports of the tear. Michelle said that my membership still could not be canceled, even with the proof and that there was a past due balance from April-July because the original report of my injury was never notated in their system.

It is the second crossfit place…read moreI have tried and it is unique because it is a blend of crossfit and movnat (think natural movement) . This seems to mean we crawl a lot (that is way harder than it sounds). Crossfit generally is a fun way to work out because they are group classes focusing on full body movements that really challenge you, but there tends to be a great camaraderie. Rob, the owner, seems to teach 90-95% of the classes and he has a nice welcoming attitude and does not push hard on trying to sell you products and classes (if you like, you sign up ... he doesn't seem to really lobby people... they just like it or not ... most seem to like it). It's $150/month for unlimited classes so it costs more than joining a gym but you get something a lot better than a gym. If sign up as a couple the second person is 1/2 off. My only gripe is the class times. My kids are in school/daycare from 8am to 6pm, but there is only one class during that window. Schedule seems to work well for others though (I still can't get over how big that 5am class is!) Classes last an hour and happen at 5am, 6am, 9:30am, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm. When trying to find this place, look for the sign on Main street. It is behind the Apple Wood Cafe next to the Leon Beauty School (that Leon place keeps moving around though so maybe not the best landmark)
