Have been going to this gym for over a year, so this review is long overdue…read more Headstrong combines everything you love about SLO and gym culture. Like most of SLO, everyone is incredibly friendly - from the staff to the coaches that will go out of their way to introduce themselves and always say hi when they see you in the gym. They have developed a community that only comes from continued and deliberate effort. They regularly host events to keep growing this community and you can see its size and strength at the 9am Saturday classes. This gym nailed the warehouse aesthetic while also keeping weight-lifters in mind. I have never had an issue finding a squat rack, which I can't say about any other gym I have been to. The free weights/dumbbells go in to the high 100s, where most gyms cap at 95/100lbs. In the warmer weather the outdoor turf-lined area is one of my favorite perks that I've also never had in other gyms. This place is a gym that's designed by people who actually use the gym and make it a point to continue making improvements for its members. If you need a gym that's more than just a place to work out, check out Headstrong.

I was in SLO taking care of my mom, and had found Inferno on Instagram beforehand. So impressed with how badass the owner was I realized HAD to get my a** there! Definitely wasn't disappointed! What a great box, and boy what a blessing to be able to workout while away from home in my favorite place. Inferno is amazing, it's literally around the corner from the airport and the energy of the place is uber cool. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, motivating, encouraging and good hearted. The workouts are excellent, the music is awesome and the fellowship with everyone there is truly heartwarming. If you live near this place, stop scrolling the phone, get off the couch and drive down to Inferno and watch your body, mind and life change for the better. Are you mentally struggling? CrossFit is more than just fitness--it's cognitive behavior therapy--in which one is able to adopt healthier life perspectives after an hour of hard earned sweat...and the benefits are longer lasting. You start where you're at and the sky is the limit. So glad I found this gem while I was there. I can't wait to come back! Thank you so much for letting me join in.

I originally transferred my disability insurance membership from this location to Kennedy club…read morefitness, but later returned because I had been banned from Kennedy Club Fitness in Paso Robles & the new curl fitness in arroyo grande. My main reason for transferring was the need for amenities that accommodate my physical disability and disabling health conditions. The staff here are always outstanding, welcoming, and helpful, which I truly appreciate. That said, the facility could benefit from swimming pools, hot tubs, infrared saunas, and better compression chairs to better serve members with physical disabilities. With those improvements, this would be an even more supportive and accommodating fitness environment.

This location has completely lost my trust. There was a…read moredisturbing incident where a man was arrested after recording nude women in the tanning rooms. After something that serious, you would expect management to take security and staffing seriously. Instead, they still seem to have only one employee working during the early morning hours (around 5:00-7:00 a.m.), which makes the gym feel inadequately supervised. What is equally frustrating is the lack of communication with members. Rather than addressing safety concerns head-on or explaining what changes were made to prevent something like this from happening again, management seems to have simply moved on. Then came the remodel. They removed several pieces of popular equipment, squeezed the remaining equipment closer together so parts of the gym now feel cramped and claustrophobic, while leaving large areas of empty, underutilized floor space. It somehow feels both crowded and empty at the same time. This used to be a gym I enjoyed, but between the apparent understaffing, the lack of transparency after a serious safety incident, and a remodel that made the layout significantly worse, I can no longer recommend this location. Members deserve to know that their safety is being taken seriously not just a fresh coat of paint and a new floor plan. I guess that's what you get with a gym owned by a franchise group (Flynn Group) that owns 140 plus PFs in 7 states. Corporate cowards concerned with profits only.

My first two "try before you buy" sessions last year were really fantastic. I knew Gymnazo was a…read morehigh quality facility, but I didn't really have much of an idea of what to expect my first time (except the obvious bits: exercise in a group setting with a trainer). I was totally operating on my wife's descriptions of her experiences. Walking in the door that first time, I felt immediately welcomed by the staff, not only with their smiles, positivity, and enthusiasm, but also by the fact that they knew my name before I even had the chance to introduce myself. That, quite honestly, blew me away. And the first session? It was fantastic. To be honest though, I wasn't sure it's what I really wanted to do (over, or even as a supplement to my personal workout routine). But I decided I would definitely do the second session. My experience was exactly the same. After both sessions, I walked out feeling I had been given a great experience: a workout totally appropriate to my level of fitness (challenging but not overly so), the coaches consistently motivated, encouraged, and praised the work every participant was doing, and they never stopped paying attention to each person's posture, technique, and form. Both sessions ended up being something I had never experienced before, at any workout facility, anywhere. Gymnazo is truly a one-of-a-kind facility, operated by the most professional, well-informed, positive folks I've come across in the exercise industry. Yes, exercise professionals often present as positive and enthusiastic and passionate. And yes, they want to you to exercise well and reap the benefits. But the coaches and staff at Gymnazo are a totally different caliber of exercise professional. Their interest and passion for the health and well-being of clients, their obvious attention to everything (from the big picture to the little details), and their commitment to professional development through continuing education, makes them truly stand out. And then there's the way they create community. It's a truly special place. For all those reasons, I decided to join. Sure, I love the fact that I can schedule a workout type and level that fits in with how I'm feeling on a given day, show up, be greeted by name, and be given clear and continued instruction, guidance, encouragement on each exercise. But what I really love is the fact that all that is accompanied by the qualities of the staff I noted earlier. They clearly want and know how to help me reach my fitness goals. You leave after each workout in so many ways better than when you walked in. I can tell that that will never change. Gymnazo is worth your time and effort.

I was greeted by an amazing staff, Jose and fitness instructor Corlese. I immediately felt right at home and signed up for a membership. You also admit in your response that I was told to go ahead and work out before everything was finalized, which contributed to the confusion. Instead of acknowledging that there was a misunderstanding, you've chosen to publicly call us liars and question our intentions.
