Hard for me to write this review because I want this place to stay a secret and love that it's not…read moreso busy. But because I also love Jennifer and Tony and think they're doing a great job running this place, I'm leaving this honest review . Best gym for lifting heavy in 5 cities area. Especially if you want someplace that feels safe, where the people are friendly, courteous, and I never have to wait to use equipment. They have 2 squat rack platforms, a smith machine, large dual cable pulley system, lots of dumbbells (go up to 100lbs) benches, boxes, not a lot of cardio equipment (boo cardio anyways...) 1 rower, 1 elliptical, 1 treadmill, and a large punching bag. They also have a few weight machines like lying leg curl, leg extension, leg press, hip thrust, and a chest press machine. (Would love a hack squat machine or hip abduction machine... ) Plenty of space for stretching or doing walking lunges. And a few personal trainers that you could get 1 on 1 sessions from if you're interested in that. love it here because there are a bunch of women that life heavy so it feels welcoming for women as well. In the evening there are a bunch of high schoolers and college kids that train here, and sometimes play death metal too loud (, I use noise canceling headphones) but it's rarely crowded The price is really reasonable too. Hope you (don't) join .

So this is a pretty embarrassing review for me, but it's absolutely necessary in order to praise…read moreCYB studios. I came in this morning to inquire about classes and becoming a member. I was greeted by an amazing staff, Jose and fitness instructor Corlese. I immediately felt right at home and signed up for a membership. There was a spin class starting and open seats available so I decided To give it a try. Anne Marie had all my favorite jams playing and let's just say in my competitive nature, I pushed myself a little too hard. I felt faint toward the end of class and yelled for Anne Marie to help me off my bike(lol).I had 4 staff members that helped me breathe and come to, providing me with Gatorade and candy to get my blood sugar up. Side note: I didn't eat or wear proper attire. Also add in that I haven't worked out in over two years(hehe). Y'all.. this was MORTIFYING but the treatment I received from everyone at CYB made it that less humiliating. They were kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and encouraging. I'm definitely coming back and I'll wear my name proudly as "the girl who almost passed out in spin class". LOL!!

CYB is the most amazing studio in Arroyo Grande, it's quaint but they really do offer so much. I really loved taking spin with Chelsea and recently have been obsessed with their hot yoga classes!! I love taking Balance with Claire and I especially love flow with SKYLER!! Highly highly recommend you give them a try, it will change you life for the better!

I was a member here for a month while visiting family for the holidays and it was just an okay…read moreexperience. The positives: - the owner is very nice and accommodating for my unusual request of just a single month membership to keep up my fitness and boxing practice while visiting for a month. - some of the trainers were amazing (others not at all (more on that later). - I do enjoy the no set class times so you can just go whenever you're done with work or need to get to the gym "now" because your motivation may not last. - They seemed to do quite a bit of member events and socials outside of the gym (unsure if that's because it was the holiday season or if this typical year round). - When I had a trainer I liked, it was a pretty good workout and can see why some people enjoy 9Round. The negatives: - the trainer makes ALL the difference. I honestly wish I had explored more of who the other trainers would be during the week vs during the weekends. I started adjusting my work schedule to avoid trainers I didn't like... - If you don't like super loud music in a tiny space, this isn't for you. I'd leave with a headache most days because it was just too much. - This isn't a gym for people who need physical accommodations. Some trainers were better than others, but they definitely didn't enjoy the fact I didn't feel comfortable kicking given surgical metal in my ankle and so it hurt like a MoFo to do any of those moves. You also ALWAYS start in Round One with jump rope... that was brutal. - The class times are really bizarre. They're open in the morning for a bit, close for an hour, and then open again for 90 minutes and then are closed all the way until after work hours. It's weird they don't have a lunch time option given how quick and efficient the workout is. I wish I would have realized that before signing up. - They make you switch your stance all the time (fighter stance to non-dominate stance) and even within the same combo. While I get what they're trying to do (even out the effort on both sides), this lead to me pulling muscles because my form was so off when trying to be SouthPaw vs just staying in my fighter stance. Not to mention it's super confusing to think about it when you're already taxing your system with a hard workout. All in all, I see what people enjoy 9Round and are very loyal to it, but it just wasn't for me. I want more of a mix of weight lifting and cardio and this gym just doesn't offer that type of workout.

This is such a rad place to go to get your butt. The concept is really brilliant and I can't…read morerecommendit enough. It's a full body workout that takes 30 minutes. There's no class times so you can pop in literally whenever. There are 9 two minute rounds of various cardio kickboxing and strength exercises and theres always a trainer available to help you with your form and make sure you are pushing yourself to the limit! All of this while monitoring your heart rate to make sure you are doing so safely! Stephanie the owner is so sweet and has really put together a killer crew.
