The gym is clean and has all the equipment and amenities anybody needs for fitness. A part of the subscription came along with a free session with a personal trainer. I signed up with Colin for a session to see what it was all about. He initially broke down fitness to 3 simple things and set my fitness goals with me. He knew exactly what he was talking about and made fitness/exercising seem like a fool proof system. We then hit the weights and started exercising! It was FUN and EXCITING! But it's time to get it off my chest. On October 26, 2024, my husband and I visited with our three younger children, then ages 7, 2, and an infant. We had been paying LA Fitness members for about 18 months and specifically paid for Kids Klub access. Because of concerning things we had personally witnessed in LA Fitness Kids Klub areas, we were not comfortable leaving our toddler and infant unattended. Our routine was for one parent to stay with the kids while the other exercised, and then switch. We had done this repeatedly at both Tinley Park and New Lenox without an issue. That day, I was exercising upstairs while my husband stayed in Kids Klub with OUR THREE CHILDREN. About 20 minutes later, he called to tell me they had been kicked out. According to my husband, an employee/security staff member approached him because he apparently looked "suspicious" sitting in the children's area and asked whether he was working out. My husband explained that he was a member and was watching his own children while his wife exercised upstairs. Instead of simply explaining that parents supposedly weren't permitted to remain in Kids Klub--a policy that had NEVER been communicated or enforced with us previously--the employee aggressively told my husband to leave and followed him beyond the entry gate. Our children's jackets and diaper bag were still inside, and my husband wasn't even allowed back in to retrieve them. Our 7-year-old had to collect our belongings. When my husband called me, I could hear our son crying because he didn't understand why his dad and siblings had suddenly been forced to leave. I immediately went downstairs. Staff repeatedly told me parents weren't allowed to stay in Kids Klub. If that was the policy, there were a hundred professional ways to communicate it. Instead, my husband was treated as though there was something suspicious or inappropriate about a grown man sitting in a children's area--even after explaining that THE CHILDREN WERE HIS. The implication was insulting and humiliating. A father caring for his infant, toddler, and 7-year-old while his wife exercises should not be cause for suspicion. There did not appear to be an experienced manager present to de-escalate the situation, so I began recording my interaction with staff. Their response was to call the police. I willingly waited outside, and the responding officer was professional and simply asked me to leave so tensions wouldn't escalate. I called the following week hoping management would recognize how badly this had been handled. Instead, I received no meaningful acknowledgment or resolution and was simply told our family was no longer welcome at the New Lenox location. As though we would ever consider returning. I even spoke with attorneys about the discriminatory treatment but ultimately decided that, as a mother of four and a business owner, I wasn't going to spend my limited time pursuing litigation over an LA Fitness incident. If you have young children, I would think very carefully before relying on Kids Klub at this location. Based on things we personally witnessed, we weren't comfortable leaving our youngest children unattended. Yet staying with them resulted in their father being treated as "suspicious" and escorted out. There is some irony to the ending. My husband subsequently joined F3 in Frankfort, works out for free, and is in fantastic shape. I joined SPENGA and am in better shape than I ever was at LA Fitness. We are both happier and healthier elsewhere. As a business owner, I know poorly trained employees don't just create terrible customer experiences--they cost businesses customers, revenue, and reputation. LA Fitness permanently lost our family as customers that day. I have video of the interaction and would love to provide it to LA Fitness management if they are interested. This area is likely a hidden gem for people that want to use dumbbells from 5 to 20 lbs and not be in the free weight area that can be a little crowded with the "serious" lifters that people newer to a gym setting might find intimidating. Which they shouldn't, because despite the occasional intense looks most people are friendly and I bet would be willing to help a new person out. There are a lot of young people, like high school age, which can be annoying only in the sense that they sit on a piece of equipment and play on their phones for minutes at a time - often until you just politely ask them if you can work in. The gym has massage beds and a good selection of cardio equipment that users are pretty good about keeping clean and the staff get repaired in a timely fashion when maintenance inevitably is needed. Overall, the staff are very kind and friendly and although typically not sitting at the front desk they glance over now and then to see if anyone is there waiting for assistance or you can find them easily. They have helped me get the app to work for my check ins several times. The reason it's not 4 star is I could drive 1/2 mile east and go to LA Fitness which has a pool and basketball court. Which I often do.

I really like Reclaim because it has one of the best functional strength sections I've ever used in a gym. I love the idea that this place is open 24/7, not that I can stay up past like 10:00 anymore LOL. The gym is clean and seems to have a minimal amount of douchebags working out here. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great workout with tons of good options. They just added an infrared sauna and I heard they're getting red light therapy beds, so that'll be fun to try too.
