I joined CFTO in July 2025 after my previous box closed, and from the start I was openly welcomed. I tried one class and instantly signed up. There was zero deliberation in that decision. This gym is community-driven. Every coach there is insanely knowledgeable and very passionate - you can truly tell they love what they do and care about helping members surpass their goals. Even in a group class setting, they still take the time to work with each individual. No matter where you're at, everyone is supportive and encouraging. The positive energy radiates through this place unlike anything I've experienced. The programming is both fun and challenging, and there are thoughtful scaling options for every workout. So everyone can safely train while being challenged. The gym itself is exceptionally maintained which directly reflects the pride the coaches and owners take in the box. CFTO also offers 1-on-1 training tailored to what you want to work on. I have had the greatest opportunity to work with Jeremy over the past few months on Olympic lifting, and those sessions have become my favorite part of the week. I've been working out at CFTO more than a year now and cannot say enough about how great it is. When I was new I was scared and the trainers were great...they helped me scale down my workouts at first, taught me correct form so I didn't hurt my back or anything else, and we're always welcoming (knew my name, said hi, etc). The CrossFit Community is amazing and the community, support and friendship at CFTO is unlike any gym I've ever experienced. We work out hard, we have fun, we welcome and encourage everyone! Did a drop in here while up that way for a wedding. Was very last minute which as a gym owner I know can be a bit of a hassle for coaches. However our group of 5 rocked up we were greeted by the owner and the coach. Super friendly off the bat and very accommodating. I've been doing g CrossFit for almost 10 years. Have been to boxes in Aus, Bali and the US so I've experienced a lot of different places. This box is definitely one of my top boxes. They've truly kept what CrossFit was originally intended to be. I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I stepped into this Crossfit gym in May of 2021, but it has been one of the best decisions of my adult life. As a father of two young boys, I was looking for routines that would help me to keep up with them and to maintain an overall healthy physique. One year later and my family and I have decided to relocate out of state to be closer to family. I was sad to say "See you soon" this afternoon, but it is my honor to write this glowing review of a masterclass facility. I truly feel blessed to have been a part of a family who cheered me on and modelled the incredible power of teamwork. The coaching staff in Jeremy, Sharr, Orlando, JP, Jimmy, Ray, and Chase are exceptional athletes and even better trainers. I always felt welcomed to show up, do some hard work, and to learn the movements alongside of my fellow athletes without judgement or fear. There is a special camaraderie here that makes you want to come back again & again even after you feel broken from a hard WOD (workout of the day). It's the people in this great gym. The available personal training sessions, massage therapy, and healthy supplements for sale are great resources, but it's the smiles & results that kept me coming back 4 to 5 times a week. The new Crossfit gym in Mason, OH will be great too, I'm sure, but Crossfit TO is irreplaceable in my mind. It's no secret that I have a healthy addiction to working out. I've tried everything at least four times and there are very few things that I will keep my interest to continue doing it. CrossFit Thousand Oaks was a bit intimidating for me to try out. At my college the only people that I knew that did CrossFit was our nationally acclaimed rugby team. I remember their shirts had the CrossFit logo with a clown lifting weights and puking at the same time. Really not my idea of a good time. For date night I decided that we into the T.O. location for their complimentary introductory class. Dan was very informative and welcoming. I felt comfortable from the get go. After that night I decided to try it out for 2 weeks and I have surprised myself with how strong I've become. I never saw myself doing pull ups or working with a lifting bar (with actual weights on it!). Somehow, the coaches there motivate you without yelling. They correct you to make sure you don't strain yourself and they really take the time to sit and talk about your fitness goals. One of their mottos is that they do not want anyone there that doesn't want to be there. As someone that took almost 1 year of not going to her previous gym before I had the courage to "dump" them, I appreciated that. Adding on, all the other clients are friendly and supportive during workouts. They have a nice variety of times offered and a nice clean facility with ample parking. I can't believe I'm going to write this, but I LOVE GETTING EXERCISE...HERE that is. Wow, it's only taken like a million years for me to get on track, but Crossfit T.O. is where I've landed and thank God and the good research of my friend, KIM D. In the last year we were searching and searching for the right fit of exercise for ourselves and a typical gym was NOT the answer. And Crossfit - the BOX as it's lovingly known is actually so outside of the box but just great. What makes it great? The owners, the people who attend and of course the workouts. I've met one of the co-owners, Dan and he's knowledgeable, patient and helpful. He also as of the last couple of months, teaches the 6 am class on MWF. And on Tu/Th a woman teaches the 6 am class - I can't believe I'm forgetting her name at the moment but she is AWESOME - super, super, super helpful and very encouraging. You get a book to track your progress. There are no mirrors. There is no typical gym equipment and your workout changes EVERY DAY. It doesn't feel competitive, but more like a team and the people that show up are different shapes, sizes and ages. I've got a long ways to go in terms of being "fit" but I feel good and am on my way to being a healthier me. Anyone that belongs to a gym, should think twice about their membership and considering joining this place. Only drawback? Cost is pretty steep but it's almost like having a personal trainer - which is worth it. Random cool things...you can "break up" with them anytime - all it takes is sending in a postcard. Month to month - no crazy weird long term weird contracts. They hold different FUN things to do and ask if you want to join - e.g. Hike to Mount Baldy, carpool to Disneyland, trip to Mammoth and more. read more

I had the opportunity to visit CFTO with my Wednesday evening Fleet Feet running crew! I had tried crossfit one time before at a different "box" and wasn't sold on it. This particular workout was geared towards us "runners" and the coaches were extremely helpful and motivational. We felt welcomed, unlike the experience I had at the other crossfit class. The great thing about starting out at CFTO is that there is no worry that you might not like it because they let you try it out first for 2 weeks! That alone is amazing...no other CrossFit "boxes" in the area offer that. They only offer a introductory session and then you are in or not (I checked them all out in this area). I also feel more at home at CFTO that the other boxes I looked at. At CFTO there is absolutely no pressure to join them after the first two weeks (amazing). They tell you straight out that this might not be for you and if it isn't that is fine...no hassles. I was a bit intimidated and scared the first day but from what I hear that is normal. I am just ending my 2 free weeks and couldn't be happier...the workouts, the place, the people...everything is great! I will start my month to month membership on Monday =). That is the only downside...the cost is steep. However, with that in mind let me tell you why I feel it is worth it...1) in just two weeks I already see and feel a difference in myself (I previously had been working out at the gym with weights and cardio) 2) it is like having a personal trainer with you during each workout (correcting your form, giving encouragement, modifying the workout if needed etc) 3) you have a new workout each day so it never gets boring...ever! 4) you do excercises that you would never imagine doing on your own and 5) it kicks your a#*! The people I have met have all been wonderful. The trainers and the other crossfitters working out with you always offer up words of encouragement to everyone during the workouts of the day (WOD)...and believe me there are many times you will need that little kick from hearing "you got it" "come on" "you have this" because you are so exhausted and don't feel like you can finish. I have had Dan and Heidi for my classes (9:30 or noon) and they are both great trainers to have. They make sure that no matter how tired you are getting that your form is right so that you don't get injured. I am so excited to become a member at CFTO! The workouts push you...HARD...all most to the brink...but there is no quitting! I don't think I have ever sweat so much working out in my life! My work brought me to Thousand Oaks for part of the week consistently, and I was looking for a box to go to during my travel. I looked at a couple boxes in the area and was happy to find CF Thousand Oaks. I told Jeremy my situation, and that it would most likely be temporary, and he still welcomed me as if I would be a permanent long-term member. The community was great as well. I instantly connected with the coaches and the other members, and felt like this was my home gym despite only going about 6-10 days a month. What strikes me the most about this box is the ability to cater and work with all experience levels. I've been doing Crossfit for 4+ years, and the coaching/programming was always scaled to my ability level. I hit major PRs and improved my gymnastic skills drastically. Programming was challenging and followed a logical pattern. Jeremy and the rest of the coaches get a very fast read on their members and skill level, but more importantly, they know WHEN to coach. They are as involved as they need to be, and it's one of the reasons they have a strong membership base. They are one of the few boxes that I've been to that can cater to an athlete starting Day 1 and to athletes with years of athletic background without having either athlete feel neglected. I was at Crossfit Thousand Oaks for 10 months until my work situation took me away from Thousand Oaks. I knew that the change was inevitable, but going to Crossfit Thousand Oaks is what I miss most. The best part about this gym is the people. The community is absolutely amazing, and you really start to know everyone personally and love them. As a 56 year old female I appreciate the owners' approach at this Box. His goal is to safely improve your fitness level and he provides a fitness log to help you track your progress. He is dedicated to making certain his clients don't get hurt and don't give up while they are moving up the fitness ladder. Many of the Crossfit workouts involve techniques most people have never seen let alone attempted to perform. Dan and all the teachers he employs take the time to patiently explain and demonstrate proper technique. They are constantly watching you and making sure you are doing the workout safely. It can be tempting, since most Crossfit workouts are time based, to just try to do things as quickly as possible and finish FIRST! Many Crossfit Boxes are not as careful to stress the importance of proper form and as a consequence of that mentality many Crossfitters get hurt. Not so at CFTO. At CFTO you are encouraged to push yourself to the next level not to try to compete, until you are capable of doing so, with people half your age and/or twice your fitness level. They are careful to scale the workouts to each individual. After a year at CFTO I can regularly out perform women and men half my age and I have never had an injury caused by a Crossfit workout. When I began I couldn't do one regulation pushup.... now I can deadlift 245# and string together 20 regulation pushups. If you are considering Crossfit do yourself a favor and head on over to CFTO and join our family. You will find the owners to be men of integrity who are building a community of like minded friends.
