I finally had the absolute pleasure of visiting Crossroads recently. What an outstanding place. Super awesome, cool and friendly owner/staff. Inviting comfy space. So far, I have only tried the one latte, the jasmine peach latte, which had peach puree, house made jasmine syrup, house made white tea cold foam and dried peaches. It was probably the best latte I have ever had. While their specialty drinks are only available small & medium, their sizes are 16 oz, 20 oz, 24 oz, so the small is actually the equivalent of some shops' large. I have only heard good things about their baked goods/pastries and they both looked and sounded amazing. I can't wait to try one hopefully very soon! Overall it was as close to a perfect experience as you get. Must try for sure. Immediate top spot for me. read more

Recently obsessed with this local coffee joint. Been spending the week in North Haven checking out some spots. Super cozy place, eco friendly with some of the best coffee/matcha. Friendly service at the counter, few tables inside to lounge at. My wife and I frequent the Last Drop in Monroe and this is ultra comparable. Very good pricing and kudos to them for using and making homemade syrups! I am a matcha guy so I get an iced matcha latte with vanilla cream cold brew. My wife has had the special Cherry Cold Brew which sells out quick and some lattes with cinnamon brown sugar, fantastic. I vow to get there early enough one of these days to try their blueberry muffins, always sells out quick. They have a host of other pastries as well, you are missing out if you don't try this place. read more

It was good but it would have been nice if they had more options. Seating was limited. Visited for the first time for their 4th anniversary celebration! They crafted a special menu consisting of their fan favorite lattes. I tried the maple cinnamon bun latte which was deliciously sweet still with a nice espresso flavor. The interior is pretty small with just a small bench and 3-4 tables but it's cozy and decorated with real plants. Despite the line being out the door, the staff was efficient and friendly. read more

Crossroads Coffee in North Haven is one of those rare gems that reminds you what community-driven business really looks like. The owner is absolutely incredible -- talented, dedicated, and genuinely one of the most hardworking people in this industry. She opened her café during COVID at a young age and built it from the ground up through pure passion, grit, and love for her community. That alone deserves recognition. The selection is always thoughtful and creative, and the specials are phenomenal. She makes all her syrups by hand and sources gluten-free items in-house, which takes so much time and intention but shows how deeply she cares about quality and inclusivity. You can taste the effort in every single drink. Crossroads is a place built on heart, and the coffee community is extremely proud of her. She does not get enough credit for everything she's accomplished and everything she continues to pour into her space. First and foremost...hard work, creativity and dedication are not only noticeable but front and center at this coffee shop. Actually, it's more than a coffee shop, it's like the Cheers of coffee shops where everybody knows your name and knows what you like to drink or eat. It's the kinda place where you walk in at 7AM with a case of heavy brain fog and the owner says "I gotcha, buddy" and just makes you the drink you couldn't muster up the words to say. The tremendous amount of community that the owner and her crew have built in the "short" amount of time they've been open is also evident so much so that when they're closed for a much needed break there's a noticeable emptiness in that plaza. The space is vibrant with creativity that is extends beyond their monthly/seasonal drink specials but the freshly baked goods that are made each and every day. Black sesame and white chocolate scones?? Who would've thunk that would work and damn it, does it ever work that I base my weekends around their scone offerings for the day. Maybe the selection is small to some but there are plenty of options for anyone and the selection is fresh daily. I'm a sweet guy but my wife LOVES the savory croissant creations each weekend. Coffee drinks are all done with care and an actual knowledge of the craft for what, for example, a cortado actually is and not what $buck$ has brainwashed their consumers into thinking it is. Best smoothies around, when available. Monthly/seasonal events that continues to foster community and shine a light on other small local artisan businesses. Watch their social media for new items, events, collaborations with other area coffee shops, bakeries, concerts coming to town!! I have seen so much about crossroads online and took a quick visit on a Sunday afternoon! crossroads had a cute, earthy atmosphere with some tables and chairs to hang out or even work. I have heard rave reviews about Crossroads from several friends, so when I was in the area recently, I knew I needed to make a pit stop there. I have to admit I almost passed by it (so be sure to be on the lookout for it when your GPS tells you you are close) and am so glad I have good brakes :) What Crossroads might lack some of the bells and whistles other small CT coffee shops thrive on - they make up for it in spades in their coffee and espresso drinks. There's something about house-made syrups and an attention to detail that can make a good drink next level AND Crossroads has that down to a science. I had a disappointing experience with how a syrup release was handled. When the gift packs were first advertised, I asked in person whether it was possible to preorder or reserve a pack and told no, that it was first come, first served. The night before release, the shop posted on social media about picking up syrup reservations the next day, information that directly contradicted what I had been told. I went as early as I could the next morning, but the flavors I wanted were already sold out. Had I been told reservations were an option, I would have placed one of course. I contacted the owner to explain the situation. Rather than acknowledging the miscommunication, her response focused on how busy she is and that not everyone can be pleased. I completely understand the realities of running a small business, but that doesn't change the fact that I relied on incorrect information. The syrups were ok, but clearer communication and a more customer-focused response would have made a big difference. read more

What an incredibly disappointing experience at Crossroads in North Haven. My friend and I -- two moms just trying to get out of the house for a simple cup of coffee with our calm, well-behaved babies -- were met with nothing but dirty looks and judgment. The barista behind the counter couldn't have made us feel more unwelcome if they tried. We were stared down the entire time, as if having babies in a coffee shop was some kind of offense. It's honestly sad that a place that markets itself as "community-friendly" can make paying customers feel so uncomfortable. If you're looking for a warm, inviting spot to enjoy a coffee, this isn't it. Not to mention their coffee is extremely overpriced. $8 for a small latte. read more

Crossroads might very be my top favorite local coffee shop. Serving some of the best coffee, unique specialty drinks, baked goods, smoothies, lunch and wicked fun events. From rich black coffee to tasty matcha teas, Crossroads is always experimenting with coffee flavors like miso or smoked juniper. I try to go to try their special monthly flavors every month because they are truly new coffee/tea adventures (see photos for drinks from this year) They have homemade coffee syrups that are sometimes bottled up for you to take home--my favorite is lavender! The baked goods in the goodies case are all homemade or from another local businesses like Kouign's. The scones are my goodie of choice, the Blueberry Basil being my favorite. I never leave without a baked good--typically I bring home a few. There are gluten-free, dairy free and vegan options, plus everything is marked. This is very help since I have a few food allergies and if I have any questions, the owner and staffed are so kind to find out for me. This is a coffee shop that you can wind down or become your new remote office. The atmosphere is soothing, quiet and calm. It's also decorated with mirrors, mix of materials (wood, metals) and plants everywhere. I vibe with this place so much. I love introducing this Crossroads to my family and friends. There is always something to love and it's exciting to see new coffee innovations. As an Instagram Food Blogger (@pastathedogctjp) who also regularly writes and reads CT Yelp reviews, I digest a lot of food and drink content on a weekly basis. One or more people I follow (can't remember who for sure) posted about Crossroads and I made a mental bookmark. So as I was driving along Route 15 and needed a coffee place in the general area, one might say, "I went down to the Crossroads." Thank you! Good night! I'm hearing that I can't end a Yelp review in this manner. I'll proceed. Crossroads is in the middle of a nondescript plaza, but walk inside, and it is certainly "descript". You are among plants, baked goods, multiple large menus, wood and bricks, and the person who helped me was wearing an AC/DC t-shirt. TNT indeed. Crossroads serves coffee, smoothies, salads, bowls, wraps, breakfast, etc. My new thing is, when I first try a coffee place, I order a cold black coffee (my normal order) and a more elaborate Iced coffee beverage, so my review has broader context. I ordered a Black Cold Brew. It was good, not great. Something happened on my way to ordering that second coffee . . . White Grape Slushy. I am a sucker for an icy, sweet and sour beverage. And wow! White Grape slushy hit all the right notes. I'm not sure if it's always available since it was highlighted on a board on the Counter, but I'll be stopping in to get one. The cutest coffee shop you wouldn't expect! An eco friendly spot- it's nice to see small businesses actually committed to making changes that benefit the people and the planet! I'm usually an almond milk girly, but had no idea the environmental impact compared to oat was so large! I'm glad to see a business take matters into their own hands, because I wouldn't have made the switch without them! The coffee itself is phenomenal and the syrups and baked goods are made in house (a rarity these days!). I've seen quite a few gf and vegan options! To start with the good - the coffee was great! So much so, that I got a second before leaving. I tried one of the seasonal specialty drinks and flavors all blended very nicely. Really enjoyed how original they were compared to the usual gingerbread or sugar cookie flavors you see. My food was okay. I only tried a pesto egg wrap and it was all fresh and warm. It was very simple, not particularly out of this world delicious just a decent egg wrap. The reason for such low stars is for the terrible service received by the young lady working. She could not look more bothered (though I did notice her engaging much more with other guests who seemed like they might be regulars), but upon my arrival with my son, we didn't get so much as half a grin from her. When I ordered my drink I simply asked if she could make it with less milk than a typical latte because I just don't like a lot of milk. After some back and forth, her response was along the lines of "I'll try to do that" .....all I asked for was less milk; I still don't understand why there was pushback for that request....just pour less milk. Anywho, I chalked it up as she was probably having a bad day. I really enjoyed my coffee, so before leaving I ordered another. While she was making it, my 3 year old son that was with me accidentally spilled his drink. I apologized and asked her for a towel to clean it up and she very flustered slid my (barely finished) drink across the counter, came around and looked like if she's never seen a spill before. My son said "sorry" to her and she couldn't even acknowledge a little boy's accidental spill. She completely ignored his (and my) apology. I have been in the service industry as waitstaff and management for 15 years of my adult life and I have never not offered a refill for a spilled drink. Much less, a child's spilled drink. All in all, the whole experience left a poor taste in my mouth. With so many wonderful craft coffee shops opening up, if we're spending no less than $5 for coffee, it can at the very least come with hospitable service. I would return for the specialty coffees, but would walk right out if I saw her behind the counter again. read more

This was my first time at Crossroads and I'm excited my friend introduced me to this super cute coffee spot. The ambience was what sold me and I would have sat there hours just taking it all in. We only ended up grabbing hot chocolate (with oat milk) and a smoothie. I'm not a fan of oat milk so I didn't fancy the hot chocolate that much. Adorable little coffee shop that fills a void in the area I live in. I stopped by opening weekend to check it out. I am not a coffee drinker, but they serve tea, iced tea and hot chocolate as well so there is something for everyone. I arrived around 11 am, in the hopes of taking home some baked goods for my family to sample. Unfortunately the display case had limited product remaining , which I'm taking as a good sign that people were coming in. I am sure that they are still trying to figure out how much to produce and that will come with time. I ended up purchasing a brownie and a almond coconut biscotti. I will tell you that the brownie that I purchased was amazing! Very rich and certainly large enough to share. I am also eager to try their unique flavored cupcakes soon. Absolutely wonderful. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the atmosphere and interior are cozy and hospitable. Love the plants and the specialty drinks. Met a colleague there and they were helpful and when we were trying to connect her to the WiFi, the barista jumped up to turn the card around so that she could see to ensure she got the right password in. Will absolutely go again and recommend to others. I had the Magician, a blend of coconut milk, matcha, golden milk, and butterfly pea flower. Delightful. I think the person I met had the moon with a beautifully done sparkly crescent moon decoration. I saved about a quarter of mine and added it to my coffee the next morning. Delicious! read more

Cozy atmosphere, yummy treats, and extremely kind staff!! As someone who loves small coffee shops, I knew I had to stop by this cute new place! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the super nice owner, Montana. (To me, meeting the people behind the scenes is the best part of local coffee shops!) The space is super cute and cozy and was the perfect place for me to get some work done for an hour or so. I got an iced latte and noticed they had a variety of non-dairy milk options. All of their treats looked delicious, as well. They have a great variety of vegan and gluten-free options - really, there's something for everyone! Fun new business in North Haven just starting out. We love to support local. They have a garden out back and it shows because their products are fresh and natural. The vibe is mellow despite the heavy metal music playing softly in the background. We opted for a chai latte, mermaid latte, honey chicken wrap, turkey wrap and we split the lemon mint vegan donut. The wraps come with a side of veggie chips or cape cod potato chips. Everything was pretty good. My turkey wrap was a little soggy but tasted great. The honey chicken my husband got was really good. The drinks were excellent. They seem to have a sustainable focus which I love ( encourage recycling, paper straws). I believe I read the owner decided to open up the shop after losing her job in the pandemic. Love that she followed her dreams and made a rough situation into a positive. What a great shop! We live just down the street, so we'll be coming here a lot. We had iced lattes and hot chocolate today, along with some hazelnut biscotti, strawberry matcha donuts, and vegan breakfast bars. Pastries were excellent! Biscotti was a good size and great texture. Donuts weren't too sweet and we're great afternoon pickup. Drinks were well made and delicious -- clearly buying good quality beans. We lived in the pacific northwest before CT, so we can be pretty picky about coffee. Right now they only have oatmilk for non-dairy options w their coffees. We went at a little after 2pm the first time we popped by and it was closed. I only wished they were open until 3 pm to take care of afternoon caffeine fixes, but what are you gonna do. Lol.
