CAT DAYCARE ONLY REVIEW! I needed a place for my kitty to stay while my apartment underwent maintenance inspection. This was my last resort since it was so last minute and most of my friends weren't able to take her in. Anywho. I called the day before to get their basic info. In total it was $15 for any hours of day care. The place itself from the outside is a little offsetting since I didn't know what to expect. "Resort" to me doesn't entail two houses conjoined. I brought my cats dry food and her paperwork as advised by the lady over the phone. The two girls that helped me were ok. I checked in and one hopped on the radio for a cat transport. Little did I know that meant my cat going to be walked to the other house. I had to ask if they ever get cats for day care and she said "No. Rarely. " which is fine. I just would have liked a better interaction since I mentioned that this was my first time and I was worried. She just chuckled. Picking my cat up was heartbreaking since I had to go get her from the house she was in. She was too scared of the guy that was supposed to transport my cat back to the office. I walked over to where the grooming location is (no lights were on except for the back room) and in the back room I could hear another cat meowing its head off. My cat was in the corner just wide eyed. The website made me feel like my cat would be taken care of fully. I guess I misunderstood their nice wording. She was housed in the equivalent of what petsmart offers for cats available for adoption, but much less luxurious. No blanket, no toy, nothing. None of those necessities were provided. This whole situation was a rare case and this just reassured me that pet daycares are much better for dogs since they get interacted with and are naturally more playful. For cats: eh, not so much. For dogs: heaven because even the front desk people are more dog people. read more

I started taking my puppy there since he was about 3 months old. He loves it there, the people love it there and I love it there. He goes there once a week to break the routine and every time I come to pick him up, he is totally exhausted. He is the kind of dog that when I take him to the dog park or the dog beach, he can keep on playing. I seriously do not think he knows what tired is. On the way home from the doggy day care, he sleeps in the car and as soon as we walk into our home, he heads over to his bed and is completely knocked out only to be awaken by the sound of his food touching his bowl and once he is done, off to bed he goes again. The people here are friendly. It shows that they really love dogs. I love picking up my dog when he is playing in the play area in the middle. I wish they had more sessions like that when I come pick him up. I strongly recommend this place to all dog owners. It keeps the dog occupied rather than just waiting for you at home. If you can afford it, take him every day to the day care. He or she will adore you even more for it! ;) read more

I brought my two little buddies(85 lb. labs) here and it was probably the best decision I made. My g/f referred to it as "just like daycare". The whole environment is that of someones home converted to a pet care facility. It was the first time I've ever boarded my boys, so hopefully they didn't do a dis service to other boarding facilities because they've set the bar rather high in my opinion. They use the same food I give my boys at home. They offer bathing services as well which I took advantage of. Best of all, they're minutes from Disneyland. I made visit's everyday and the boys took well to the workers at Crossroads. Maybe a bit too well. They were like 2 unexpectedly well behaved kids. I brought along a trunk full of gear in order to care for the boys during the weekend but didn't need to open it once. They made my vacation SOOOOO much easier and care free. I recently had both my dogs in boarding for two nights. Once again Crossroads was absolutely wonderful!!! Drop off was super easy. I love all the add on's they have...everything from giving them a bully stick to a walk around the neighborhood to a bedtime story. Since it was their first time in boarding I did the executive suite & added on a bully stick for each of them. They had grain-free food upon request (which is perfect b/c one of my dogs needs to be on a grain-free diet). I received an email update the next morning letting me know both slept through the night like puppies and were doing well. The email really helped me feel at ease. Pick-up was super easy as well. As I was paying another employee was getting my dogs & my dog's meds and bringing them up to the office. So as soon as I was signing the receipt, my dogs were right next to me ready to go. The report card they give you is adorable and I loved that they called a few days later to check up on my dogs. My dogs love it here & love the employees so much! read more

We left our JackChi, Frankie, at Crossroads for 2 days while we went out of town. We were a little weary of leaving him anywhere really, since he hadn't really socialized with any other dogs except my mom's Pomeranian who's 9 years old (Frankie is 5 months old). It was also hard finding a place who would board him intact, but Crossroads did! We got the socialization package, which allowed Frankie to play with the other dogs, and also had him get a bath. When we got back, Frankie was cool, calm, collected and clean. Frankie is a very active/busy dog so for him to have been worn out enough to just sleep is amazing. I don't know what they did but he'll definitely be going back. They also feed the dogs Natural Balance, which is the food we feed him, so the transition was easy. They gave him a little doggy report card saying how he was, and I'm surprised he was so good. He'll be going back for training and day care! read more

We have been taking our Siberian Husky, Rza, here for some months now. She LOVES it here! Right when we walk into the door she is greeted by name and the staff is very quick to take her to see her friends. They are good with her and the other dogs as well; they seem experienced. My dog has improved so much socially and we are seriously considering enrolling her in agility classes and more training. I just wish we lived closer (takes us about 20 min to get there). We have tried other facilities like, pet smart (because of the better hours and weekend hours), but they don't provide the running space and attention that Crossroads gives. Price: fair. They fall in the middle price range. Cleanliness: good. Customer service: good Hours: I wished the weekend hours were better. I love this place!!!! I have brought my dog, Marley who passed away in July 2018 here for almost 10 years. My new pup, Layla loves going to daycare-She can't stop wagging her tail when she is taken to play with her furry friends! Layla loves being boarded there as there is someone that is there 24/7 so I am at ease that my puppy is being monitored. I trust Crossroads over any person to watch Layla! My cat Boots stayed here for 4 days last month. Although I don't necessarily 'love' the area where they keep the cats, it is away from the dog area and the cat condos are a nice size depending on which one you get. I was obviously worried about leaving my cat anywhere but from the moment I called and after I went and toured the area where boots would be staying, the staff there made me feel good about leaving my cat there. I got the feeling they cared about any animal staying there. I asked if I could bring my cats toys, blanket, food,litter.etc so that my cat could feel a bit more at home and have some familiar smells and they said yes absolutely. To me that was really important! : ) They followed her feeding schedule, cleaned litter, gave her play time (if she was in the mood for it Lol) and checked up on her throughout day. I called second day to check on her and they told me she was doing good but was a bit shy. Lol Anyway after I picked her up and brought her home she was back to her normal self in no time. I have taken my dog here a few times and I am on the border. Positives: Friendly staff, clean and welcoming front office, flexibility I did not love their setup. When I toured the facility before leaving my dog there was certain sections I was not allowed to see. This did not make me feel at ease. The prices are on the higher side which I wouldn't mind paying if I felt it was justified. I will continue to bring my pet here but they are my second choice. read more

I've boarded my dog here a few times and he seems quite happy every time I pick him up. We live in the neighborhood and walk by Crossroads, daily. Every time, he goes into the parking area and looks around, like he wants to be there. Just last weekend, I had a family emergency come up and even though they were full, Crossroads was able to find a spot for my weimaraner. Just a testament to the great customer service. This is my first review ever on yelp so i hope it stays. Took my 5 mo old Chocolate Lab to Crossroads for training. She was out of control biting and attacking. Our arms and hands were bloody and scratched up. Also she would NOT walk on a leash, she would just flop on the sidewalk and not move. So we figured we would send her away for 2 weeks for training. It was get her trained or find her a new home. We were nervous to go pick her up when the 2 weeks were up, not knowing if the training worked or not. OMG she was a completely different dog!!! No random biting attacks! Super sweet and well behaved. She even walks on the leash and we have fun with her now!! She even likes to cuddle now, and she never did that before training. We are so thankful for Crossroads!!! It was definitely worth the money!!! Call them! read more

I am so glad I took some great advise and signed my 16 week old puppy up at Crossroads for obedience training. The staff at Crossroads are truly some of the nicest people you could ever meet. They go over and above what normal expectations would be to assist with whatever is asked of them. They know all the dogs by name as well as the owners names, and they treat the dogs like you would expect your children to be treated. I take my Annie a few days a week now just to spend the day playing with the other dogs....she loves it here, runs in and never looks back at me. 2nd time coming here. We fill out an online reservation form to drop off our two dogs Sunday - Tuesday. They called to confirm and to make sure we send out updates vaccination records and said they'll see us soon. I show up at the time I stated I'd drop them off on Sunday and sure enough no one is there. I understand they're closed Sunday's but shouldn't the workers have common sense to say "hey we saw you reserved to drop off Sunday BUT we are closed". ? And to top it off we weren't the only ones there. Pretty sad as we had made this reservation a month ago and almost missed our trip because of them. Don't take your pets here!!! I boarded my cat here on two occasions. The stays were super close together (10 days, 4 day break, and 5 days) or I would have taken her to another place for the second stay. 1) When dropping her off, we asked for a tour of the facility. The cat area was also the grooming area and it was extremely messy, the cats were in a closet like room, but it seemed like it was cool and slightly air conditioned. My cat stayed on the bottom in 3 of the cages away from the sunlight. I had requested sunlight, but they did not tell me that some of the cages did not have a view. They did say that other cats were leaving and they would increase her space after a few days. 2) Upon pick-up the first time, we noticed that she had rubbed a piece of her nose skin off. I took her to the vet that same day for shots. The vet looked at it and said that cats do this when they're trying to get out of the cage. I have boarded her at other facilities for longer and this has NEVER happened. She was played with enough at other facilities. I don't think they played with her, even though I paid extra for them to take her out at least once a day. :-( 3) Checking out was fine until I got to see the receipt. They have you pay first and then you can look at the receipt. I was charged a daycare boarding fee plus the 4 nights. The daycare fee was the same as an overnight fee! And, they had already charged my credit card, but the girl doing check-in and check-out was not able to waive my fees or ask anyone about it. She told me I had to call the next day to find out about the fees myself. She didn't know. What? Really? When I had initially called, they had said $12 for daycare fee, but that wasn't even correct! I called the next day and left a message for someone to call me. Nobody called me back. I called 2 times before I talked to someone who could fix this for me! 4) Lost cat bed: On check-out, we had forgotten to ask for our cat's bed. We were almost home and I realized it was missing. I called the next day, but was told they couldn't look for it right away because they don't have keys to the cat area. Ummm, okay- that's fine. I described it and they said they'd look and call me back when they found it. We called a second time 4 hours later. Described item again, and they said they'd look for it and call us back. It has been two days since I checked my cat out. Day 3 after checkout, I finally call again--around noon, because they have not called me back. I finally ask to speak to a manager and the girl asks me what it's about and I explain everything, tell her I'm upset, that it's been 3 days, and I've received no return phone calls from them. I let them know I'm writing a YELP review since she wasn't sure a manager could speak to me. Guess what? 15 minutes later they find the cat bed and returned my call. Overall, everyone was polite. Cat care was subpar, and we were overcharged but client must make the effort to get money returned. Customer service- while they were polite, there is no follow-through and the staff was not able to answer my billing questions or locate my items without me calling a total of 4 additional times! One star because I can't give them zero stars. I will NOT return here. UPDATE: They told me they would credit my account, but my husband had to go in to pick up the cat bed and inform them that they had not credited our account. Very unprofessional!! read more

I'm so happy with the Daycare and Training program that Crossroads Pet Resort has. I have a large German Shepard Dog that's basically very attached to just family members - she's not really friendly with other people. She's come a long way since she's started her training. She's been working with Dan, who's been introducing her to lots of different people at Crossroads. Dan really knows animal psychology, he gave me papers to read so I would understand how to introduce my dog to other people and how to get you her to accept or be more comfortable around people. He spent a lot of time explaining how to do everything. I really believe he can train anyone's pet whatever the species. I'm super happy with "Crossroads" the staff is also very professional and attentive to you needs. Front office personnel also very helpful, friendly and professional. If you have any pet issues you should try them, especially if you have a large, Intimidating GSD (or any pet with difficult issues) it's very important that they get the right training/trainer. I wanted to add to my first review on Crossroads Pet Resort. Very soon after I posted my review the general manager contacted me. She was very perfessional and wanted to make sure she followed up with me to resolve the issues that I was unhappy with. How awesome is that! I didn't expect anyone to contact me. So it really showed me that they care about customers. The groomer, as you can see from other posts, usually gets very good reviews. The customer service far makes up for any issues I had. Because of this I will definitely consider bringing him back. And my cat is doing just fine. read more

Find another dog trainer! If possible I would have given negative stars. I spent well over $1,000 to have my two rescue puppies trained for a week. (Actually, it was five days because no training is done on the weekend. Something I had not been told.) They came home barely knowing their names, and crate trained (according to them but terrified of the crates at home.) My #1 priority was leash walking. I was told they couldn't do that because the dogs had "only been there a week". I was given some printed materials that was very difficult to understand and a handwritten evaluation from the owner in absolutely terrible handwriting - impossible to read. . It was recommended I purchase two books totalling $20. Why? Shouldn't they have been taught for all that money? I found the owner and many of the staff quite rude. And to top it all off one came home with kennel cough costing me another $400. Stay away! read more

If I could leave Dan and his team 100 stars, I would. We brought in our large dog who was becoming aggressive for board and train, and he's like a new dog. He still has all the best parts of his personality and is just a new and improved version of himself. We will bring any and all future dogs to Dan for training and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for training. Plus, he helped train us too (not just the dog)! You can feel everyone is a dog lover that works here and they care. Some of the employees bring their own dogs here. Our dog Duke is like our child and he's kind of picky but when we get here he pulls me to the door and doesn't look back so that's my proof That he loves it!! We are from Oregon and found your company on the internet. I called and inquired about boarding our 2 toy poodles while we would be in the area for 3 days. I am so happy that we chose Crossroads Pet Resort. We were met by your courteous staff and they made "Gracie' & "Tinker" feel very welcome. We were impressed that you conducted a social test upon arrival. We checked on them a couple of times each day and they had a ball playing with other dogs and got along very well with them. When we picked them up , they were so happy and well cared for and very nicely groomed and bathed. So this is my first Yelp review ever, I've been going to Crossroads for training, daycare, grooming, and boarding since June 2010. My dog is a very "special" dog - she is shy, sensitive, and sometimes fearful. She's a big GSD so sometimes she scares ppl. EVERYONE at crossroads took the time to meet her, feed her treats, and make friends with her. She has so much fun there she gets excited to go there on the freeway. Details: Training - we did private lessons with Dan, the owner and what a difference it made! My dog is a completely different dog now compared to when we started our training. My dog used to bark and be reactive to other dogs. We couldn't walk her when other dogs were around or go to parks. She was crazy at home. Now shes super well behaved and we even started going to dog parks! This is all thanks to Dan and the trainers at Crossroads :) Daycare - I try to take my dog every Friday to daycare at Crossroads, she loves it. She comes home a tired, happy dog. They even work with her and help her with her ppl issues by having her meet new people while she's there. They will even do training at the daycare. Grooming - when my dog gets groomed at Crossroads she comes home super clean and neat. And you cannot beat their prices! They will groom your dog while they are at daycare or being boarded. Boarding - I used to take my dog to petsmart's pet hotel, now that I have found crossroads we will be boarding only with them. They are cheaper and you get more. They have tons of options for extras like bed time stories and treats for your dog and lots of fun activities for them while you are away. I can go away and not worry about my dog being bored and missing me. Overall I love that the ppl at Crossroads know who you are and remember everything about your dog. They know my dog has bad hips and won't let her play with any crazy dogs that might hurt her. They remember she is shy and take the time to make her feel comfortable. My bordier collie mix had issues with shyness and separation anxiety. She had one episode of fear biting, so I knew I needed to nip it in the bud. I'm glad I found Crossroads. The staff is very professional and helpful. We first had an intial consultation with Dan Tambourine, the owner and head trainer, which costs $75. Dan has 30 years experience with aggressive and fearful dogs. He is more of an animal behaviorist, rather than just a trainer. I enrolled my dog in the "Board and Train" for 2 weeks while I went on vacation. Included are followup individual trainer sessions, which were very helpful. I was somewhat skeptical whether I would see any changes in my dog after only 2 weeks of training. I actually do see significant improvement in confidence in my dog, although I will need to continue to work with her. I also want to mention that the trainer who worked most with my dog is Deana, who is super. From discussions with her, I can tell that she did spend an extensive amount of time with my dog to be able to make certain observations. Crossroads offers a variety of boarding and training packages. They even have doggie daycare. I'll be using them in the future, perhaps for daycare and maybe for training refresher. The price of training varies, depending on your dog's issues, the most expensive being for aggressive dogs. Behavior training is not inexpensive, no matter where you go. read more

Our Swiss Mountain Dog is 8 months old, and we have completed both Puppy Kindergarten and Dog Obedience classes with Dan Tambourine (owner). Crossroads staff uses positive reinforcement to encourage appropriate behavior. They also take the approach of training the "human" as much as training the dog. Dan is clearly very passionate about dogs and he brings decades of experience and thorough understanding of k-9 behavior. Classes are kept small and very productive - not a wasted minute! After every class we leave with a ton new ideas to try with our dog and so far each one has been extremely helpful. In addition to obedience classes, we also use the doggy daycare service about 2x/month and have boarded her overnight once for 4 nights. Again, all staff I have encountered are courteous, professional, and clearly have a love for animals. They treat our dog as if she is a friend coming over to play! I made a special request that one of the male staff spend extra time playing with my shy puppy, and he took initiative to have ALL male staff spend time playing with her.
