I love taking my dogs here! We started with training for our lab with Am. She was fantastic! My husband and I decided to try the "daycare" to see how the dogs liked it, he didn't think they needed and I think they do. When I picked them up the first day the staff was talking about how much they enjoyed and loved our dogs. I feel like everyone here for the most part knows who your dog is and actually care about them. I have referred multiple friends and I hope they go in for a visit and fall in love like we did. GROOMING REVIEW! I am so happy that I took my exotic short haired persian to crossroads. They took very good care of him and gave him a shave. I was a little scared to take my cat to any groomer but Rachel made me feel more at ease. They kept in touch with me on how my cat was doing and that made me very happy. I am so so happy with this place..I am always so nervous taking my dogs to the groomers..sometimes I just don't feel like people will treat them good..but let me say I was so at ease with dropping my Zuko off here..this was his 2nd time getting groomed (the first time we took him somewhere else)..I didn't want to go back there..so I researched and this place is actually like 7 mins from my house..when we picked my baby up, the groomer lady gave me some information about fleas and what can happen..I was very appreciative of that..it made me feel like they really care..on top of she was saying that he was great while being groomed..that made me feel like a proud momma! This is our new groomers. I had to leave my 3 year old German Shepherd over a long weekend and I'm so lucky that I found Crossroads! My dog is extremely attached to us and I'm sure she missed us but when I picked her I was confident that the staff did everything they could to make her comfortable. When I dropped her off the gentleman that helped me knew exactly how to handle her and wasn't intimidated by her. I will definitely be bringing her around more for socializing training and to help her adjust easier for the next time we need to leave her overnight. I have been taking my dog, Bruno, to Crossroads day care periodically for about 6 months now and I am so happy that I found them! By the third time I brought Bruno to the facility, he started tugging at his leash as we entered the building, eager to join his friends in the back. As far as I'm concerned, that was the strongest sign of support a dog-owner could hope for. Every time I bring Bruno to day care, I can expect a happy, exhausted pup a the end of the day. Every staff member I've interacted with has been very friendly and helpful. If you're bringing your dog to Crossroads for the first time, you will need to make arrangements to have a personality evaluation for your dog to see whether your dog can be with the social group or will need private accommodations. As for the grooming services, we have only used them twice but have been very happy with the results both times. It was super convenient to be able to drop him off and pick him up on my own schedule. tl;dr version: Crossroads Pet Resort runs a great service with a very friendly and competent staff - your pets will be in great hands! read more

Dropped off our pup for the social test, grooming,'over night stay and day care. We are pretty happy with how she was cared for. The socialization test was really short for the 25 dollar fee. Wished we could have toured more of the place but only employees were allowed behind the gates. But of what we did see and how she was happy and tired after day care we are pleased! read more

Was contacted by the owner right away to see what she could do about the problems we had. She was very nice and wanted to know exactly what happen so she could speak to the employee(s) involved. She also offered us a free night stay for our dog, but since then we have found a place the is a better fit for our dog. HORRIBLE- This review is for grooming. They did a horrible job. I specifically told the girl how short to cut my dogs hair and she ignored my instructions. She cut her hair so short my dog is almost bald. And to top it all of there were a couple random long hairs on her face. I could've done a better job myself. Do Not take your dogs here. This place has seriously declined. I have been a customer for over 10 years and tonight my dog was given to someone else. As I patiently waited for them to bring my dog to the front it was discovered that he was missing. Ok some dogs look similar but I have an 80 lbs male yellow lab and he was confused for a 50 lb female lab. The dogs here are kept without their collars for identification and supposedly the kennels have their names. Well my 2 dogs were kept together (1st issue-they should go home together) and (2nd issue Acheron and Phoenix are not even close). This could Have been a very dangerous situation if you have a dog with allergies or that takes medication. Thankfully that was not an issue. The biggest issue is that this is not an isolated happening. I have been given a dog that was not mine but immediately sent them back to get my dog. The carelessness is overwhelming. You have lost a good customer. My dogs are my babies and no one messes with my babies. As far as I'm concerned you should be shut down. I'm very pissed read more

We were suppose to board our two dogs here this weekend, (Made the reservation a month ago) we get there this morning to drop them off on the time we had scheduled and no one was there. We weren't the only ones waiting. We kept calling and no one answered. We had a feeling this would happen when we saw they were closed at that time but thought since it was already reserved for that day and time we would be ok. This was our second time for boarding here and this time we never got a email confirming our appointment with the dates only two phone calls for vet record updates and an email saying they got the updated record and will see us in a few weeks. We almost missed our trip if it wasn't for petsmart taking them in last minute. ! read more

This review is from a little while ago but I had a friend who was going to try this place for dog training but after she heard of my experience she was taken aback so I thought I should write a post to warn others. I bought my dog in for a consultation with the head trainer Dan and he assured me he could change some my dogs behaviors with one session and that he had 3 of the same type of dog of his own. So, I made a training appointment where I brought my whole family so that we would all be on the same page with the training. First, my appointment was set at a time when the office was close. We waited 45 minutes outside waiting for them to open. Second, when we were let in the staff paid absolutely no attention to us. I asked if we needed to check in and they said no. Third, Dan showed up 45 minutes after we were let in. No apologies or anything. His training was horrible. My dog has aggressive behavior (which he had at the consultation) so Dan kept giving him treats, I mean a lot of treats. But my dog didnt calm down. So, after a while Dan started making excuses and blaming the dog breed for everything. His energy changed and he then told us to read a book and buy all this extra stuff. He said I could bring him back another time but at $300 a pop, I think not. I need more professionalism and I need someone who is not going to make promises they cant deliver on just to get my money. So after $500 for absolutely nothing but some stuff I didn't need my advice is to think long and hard before choosing this place for training. read more

I used to bring my dog to this location for daycare, but noticed he would come home very hyper from being locked up in a cage most of the day. They do "Rotate play times" between being locked up and able to play outside of the cage, but who knows how much that entails. Another setback is they dont have a live camera to check in on the puppy to see how he's doing. Now that I've been bringing my pup to another day care center, he's tired when he comes home and we can check in on him anytime. read more

Our 6 years old Newfoundland stayed 10 days for the second time in 4 years at CrossRoad Resort and she just loved it. From the front desk to the the back yard, every personnel member was welcoming, very attentive and definitely dog lovers. I don't usually take the time to write a review but i felt it was important. My fiance' brought our dog to Crossroads for the first time. My first concern was it seemd very inexpensive, not that I mind paying less but it was less than what we were used to. After my fiance' saw the place we understand why. When she called to check on her the girl started talking about some other dog. She said isn't yours the retriever? No lady she was not the retriever. My dog for whatever reason did not like it there. They sad she was growling and showing her teeth. I was shocked because our dog goes to 2 different doggy day cares, the dog park a minimum of 2 days a week and has been boarded over night with other dogs. I'm not saying this is a bad place, im sure its not. My evalutation is this is a place that works by volume, thats why they charge less. The one-on-one care that we expect was not found on our experience. The great customer service was not there either. There assesment just made no sense and I am not one of those owners that is dillisonal about there pet. There is a simple saying i think works here, you get what you pay for!!! read more

Our experience with Crossroads has been phenomenal. Our dog has been coming here since she was a little puppy, and we have been absolutely thrilled with her training, with the level of care, with the activities and playtime she gets, as well as the dedicated staff. Whether we bring her in for a "playdate" as daycare, or we board her when we have to go away, we know she is in exceptionally good hands. There has been only one "oops" during our two years with Crossroads--wrong dog brought out, and it was dark, so we didn't notice till we got in the car--but the staff immediately called me and my husband returned to exchange dogs (it was dark and the dogs are very similar in appearance). No harm, no foul, and staff called to follow up several times. Their observations and communication about how she behaves, how she responds, how she interacts, are very valuable, and demonstrate the level of care that our beloved pet is getting. Our lab mix, Forest, had reportedly been found in a dumpster with his litter mates. Scars and fear of other dogs suggested that he had been attacked. We adopted him at 4 months. He was so aggressive, we could not allow him to interact with any other dogs. Our vet recommended Crossroads. Forest attended "Boot Camp". He learned to interact with other dogs, and his humans are learning the best ways to interact with him. At 8 months old, Forest now plays well with other dogs. Yesterday, a dog at the dog park became aggressive towards him. Forest just walked away and began playing with someone else. If you need help with your dog, this is the place. read more

I love Crossroads! They take such good care of my two dogs, Bella and CoCo. Bella has an anxiety disorder and they are always so kind about it and let her hang out with her little sister, CoCo and the little dogs, because she feels more safe and relaxed. Daycare and boarding. We take our furry baby several times a week for daycare and had left him at Crossroads for boarding a couple of times. Everybody is very nice and friendly. The place is clean. You even get a report card when boarding. The best part is that the dog loves it. He starts crying of excitement a couple of blocks away!!! When we get there, he greats everybody with a waving tail :) Just from that we have peace of mind. read more

No one at Crossroads ever called to check on Taco after I advised them he was sick. We were never advised what he was fed which may have helped us deal with his illness. I am living with the guilt of boarding this sweet, little boy since it ultimately killed him. read more

This place is great! I just boarded my rat terrier here over the holiday weekend and they took great care of him. He's got a very bad case of separation anxiety, so boarding is always stressful for us both. He was in the executive suite because it's supposed to be more like home and the attendant made sure to tell me that he did well and slept through the nights while he was there. Our dog has been going to Crossroads daycare for several months now. He loves it. The staff is very nice and professional, and you can tell they really care about your dog's well-being. This is the third time we have taken our German Shepard for boarding when we travel out of town. She is a large spoiled baby with separation anxiety. She is anxious and shy around other dogs. She has lived with our 15 year old Corgie mix her entire life. I was very concerned about her playtime, because she doesn't know a lot of dogs. They identified she does well with other calm dogs and was playing well in her group. (Yes I had to call and check up on her) She is also a bit claustrophobic so we have issues putting her in the first little dog suite they put her in to acclimate. I mean issues, and they have always been patient and helpful. They have groomed her twice the first time beautifully. This time she was still a bit wet, but I was a little early picking her up because the family missed her. I would recommend this place to anyone I know. Especially because we had such an issue finding boarding for a large breed. Great job Crossroads. We will be back, and thank you. read more

Can't say I am impressed. I made an appointment to visit and tour the facility and have my dog 'tested' to see how he does with other dogs so they would supposedly know how better to care for him. My appointment was for 2pm and when I arrived there was no one there. I waited for 15minutes, calling the phone number several times during the wait to no avail. A very disreputable looking person asked if she could help me - she said she worked there?? - and when I told her I had a 2 o'clock appointment she said 'the girls' must have gone out to get something to eat. Now, I know people need to take a lunch break but I was given the impression that the animals were cared for and supervised 24/7. At least the ones in the 'executive suit' which is where I planned to have my dog boarded. But no one was there! So. The facility was not well maintained, my appointment was not kept and no one has called in answer to my phone calls to apologize or explain. Needless to say I am not recommending this facility. read more

My puppy, Lulu, needed to be housebroken and learn basic commands. She defied the basic premise of crate training -- and eliminated in her crate. I was not knowledgeable or skilled to train her and was lucky enough to learn about Croassroads boarding/training services. They only use positive reinforcement techniques and love my puppy nearly as much as I do. It was clear that Lulu was very well cared for, happy, well socialized, TRAINED in all the commands and HOUSEBROKEN! Our home is now calm, clean and we fully enjoy a well trained happy puppy. My 2 dogs have been in doggie daycare at Crossroads for about 2 months now. I am unsettled and quite upset about where my dogs actually are once they leave the front reception area. They have areas in the back which is where my dogs always come back from when I pick them up that nobody is allowed to see. That makes me pretty upset as well as other dog owners that have had the same concern. I mentioned this several times to front desk person as well as manager and was litterally blown off. The last time my dogs were there for doggie daycare and I called to check on them as I usually do the lady slipped and told me that they have been in a run by themselves which at the time I called was about 3 & 1/2 hours. I immediately expressed my concern and demanded that they be in a play group and basically I was told the same line ....it was blown off again..... That is it . I cancelled my prior appointments scheduled went immediately over to pick my dogs up and I had to pay to get them out.... It has taken me about 2 weeks to write this review for I felt like I needed to calm down first and not be angry while I write this I have spent quite a bit of money to Crossroads Pet Resort and I am not a happy camper My dogs nor anybody else's dogs should not be in an area where I cannot see or an not allowed to see ever. I don't know how many times that my pups were in a run by themselves for several hours. BIG BUMMER.... Very dissapounted read more

I have show dogs and I have a lot invested in my dogs and i don't trust just any body with my dogs.They are all intact and most places won't let them come to day care or board with other dogs.They are more then welcome at crossroads.They have been going to crossroads for over seven years. The staff treats them like there own dogs.My dogs are a deep chested breed that are susceptible to bloat and I give them specific feeding directions including that they are to be fed at a certain time and they are to eat and drink elevated.They don't mind and follow my directions completely. My dogs can't wait to get in the door where the staff meets them with hugs, kisses and a cookie.I have taken a couple of the training classes and the trainers are well educated and fun to work with. They make it fun for the dog and owners. read more

I have been so impressed with Crossroads and especially with Dan Tambourine's training and his staff. When I met my sweetheart he brought a 7 year old dog into my life. A wonderful dog but he had a big problem. He was VERY dog-aggressive. We couldn't trust him on walks and we never felt relaxed. We didn't think there was any hope for him but a two weeks stay at Crossroads and a couple of subsequent private training for us, and we had a dog who was no longer aggressive. When we picked him up we got to see him run and play around other dogs at the resort and it was so exciting. With our new knowledge we solidified the training (which took about 6 months) then for the next 10 years we had a happy calm and wonderful dog who loved all people and animals. He could even go off leash and we had no qualms about it. I am going to get another dog in the future and I will go to Dan right away! I have sent others and everyone has great things to say about the care and compassion and excellent work they do at Crossroads. read more

We had moved to long beach in 2007 and were look for a place we could board our dog when we were away. I came across crossroads online and went to visit them with our lab, Pelo. From the first visit until this past January, we trusted pelo with the crossroads crew and we could not have been happier or appreciated more the attention he got and the genuine care and compassion that they had for him. Whenever we brought pelo in, every person there knew his name and he was also extremely comfortable. They would give us report cards after each boarding and let us know if they had any concerns. We always got a call from Sarah after the visit just checking in and making sure that pelo was doing alright, and that was even after several years of us using them. Sadly, we had to Put pelo down this past January..and the crossroads team sent us the kindest card with all of their condolences. I can't say enough about crossroads and how wonderful they are. When we are ready to own dogs again, we would absolutely be trusting our pets with crossroads. read more
