The people here are super sweet. They are more likely to except your clothes here too! They won't take forever 21 or h&m... Trust, I'd know. I have been working here since January and its the best job I've ever had! Everyone here is very accepting of other peoples fashion styles and different personality traits. I love all the customer I talk to the environment on melrose is welcoming and everyone is friendly. My favorite thing about working here is that I always find the best clothing pieces at the most random moments and I can actually afford designer brands. Kerri is super stylish and sweet and is always flexible with my schedule and is always making sure I'm doing ok. Brittany is the smartest and sweetest person I've ever met in my entire life and she has the cutest Instagram haha. Marion is so nice and always takes the time to talk to me about life and figuring out the problem at work. Peli is so nice and is good at being a leader and she does her job well as well as fun to hang out with outside of work. Paola is very mature and she is an amazing manager and has a great style and is not afraid to be stern but always makes sure the customer is happy. Cynthia is one of the bestest friends iv ever had and it's cool that she is my boss but we always get along and get our job done together in the best way possible. She has an amazing energy and always talks to the customer in the best way. I admire her for that and the fact we both get excited when something cool comes in the store. basically what im saying is that crossroads is an amazing work environment and we all become a family in or out of the store. So this experience is based off shopping here....not selling here This is a MIXmatch, odds/Ends kind of Thrift/Resale shop. H&M positioned right next to Burberry. Which made it kind of fun in a thrill-seeking kind of way. I saw a lot of possibility (but not in my size) BUT, I'll surely be back for a repeat browse. Crossroads is a gem- a little rough around the edges, but beautiful if you spiff it up! I love the quality and quantity of fun ready to wear styles. The customer service is always hit or miss when I go- or even hit and miss- some attendants are truly in love with their jobs, or see this as a platform for their true passions, while others are there just to earn some money so they can go home. I've shopped here twice, and gone home incredibly happy with the selections I've found. I've not sold here, so I don't have an opinion on that- however, I do recommend this place to shop whenever you're looking for a good find, or on a budget, or want current styles for less than a department store price. A solid thrift store that actually means the word "thrift" when it says it. When stocking up for the upcoming season, Crossroads is always my first stop, and oftentimes satisfies all my needs. Don't get me wrong, I have done my fair share of Goodwill shopping. But Crossroads takes advantage of the fact that rich people go through a new wardrobe every few months, and so this thrift store actually has great clothes I will wear everyday. I've even bought sneakers here! I finally went after my roomate picked up 2 pairs of Diesel jeans for $40 each that were actually great looking, but of course he's a guy and so stands a much higher chance of actually finding fashionable Diesel jeans at a thrift store. But that's okay, there are plenty of other items here for me that divert my attention! read more

One of my fave stores on Melrose.. I've found some good bargains for designer wear at the place.. However, the prices they buy the clothes back could be outrageous at times (my designer jeans tht I bought at $120 was sold to them for $30).. they normally don't tell you how much your items sell for while they're picking it out, they only tell you how much everythg was worth at the end, so if you want to make sure to know the prices they're buying it for you would have to tell them ahead. read more

Love it! This is what I wanted my local Goodwill to be (apparently I have high expectations.) Crossroads Trading Company on Melrose is a big, well organized store selling both used & unworn (tags still on) merchandise. Everything is separated by color & dresses, skirts, jeans, etc are on their own racks. The clothing was all in very good condition (especially since I had just left a store with brand new clothes that looked like they had been run through a cheap laundromat a few times) and I could have spent a ton here (& walked out with about 3 tons of pretty new things!) Most of the store is priced pretty inexpensively, makes me want to take the drive whenever I am shopping for new clothes. The place is big & you need to be patient if you are not on a mission for one specific type of item. I like that it's brightly lit & you can actually see what you're looking at, and what condition it is in. I will definitely be back (soon!) read more

I love shopping here because they always have steals and basics that you can find. As with all vintage/second-hand shopping, you really need to DIG and try things on. I found a Topshop/Kate Moss dress that was so cute and 1960's inspired, but when I put it on, it made me look like a rectangle. Totally unflattering for people with boobs and short torsos. BUT I also found a cute navy dress wrap, a lot of AA clothes (don't even bother shopping at American Apparel ...), shorts and other wear. The shoes here are really cute too. Overall, the clothes here are a bit more stylish than the ones on Santa Monica Blvd - but if you're a true shopper, you'd hit up both Crossroads anyway. Beware: A lot of clothes end up being dry-clean/handwash/hang dry only. :/ So even if you're paying $5 for it, if you don't frequent the dry cleaner or just like to throw things in the machine (like me)... think about it. read more

Ok. This place is great. They hand pick great clothes. I've gotten some amazing items from here. It's worth picking through. Lots of men's jeans. Lots of great men's shoes. And a pretty good collection of tshirts and dress shirts. I got a pair of Earnest Sewn jeans ($200 new) for $30. And a Vince dress shirt ($180 new) for $20. There aren't many bags for guys here. This is a great place to buy and sell clothing! Parking in this area is difficult if you come at the wrong time, but if you know how LA traffic works, then just go when it isn't busy. I have been selling clothes here for the past year and a half, and I have probably made somewhere around $200-$250. That's been in maybe 6 trips with just a couple of bags each time. Go to their website to see what they are looking for, and that will greatly increase your chance of them wanting your clothing. I've bought a few times from here, as well. They always have great items, and they are usually MUCH cheaper than Wasteland, but still as good of quality. There are some higher end brand items that they hang up on the wall, too. I've found great shirts, jackets, shoes, and bags here for amazing prices. The workers here are ALL amazing. I've interacted with most of them, I think. You can have great conversations with them while they are checking your clothes, or while they are ringing you up. I always suggest to my friends that they come here first before going to other second hand stores. This one has become my favorite go-to spot. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but I was very disappointed with my experience at the Melrose location. I brought in 5 big bags of clothing to sell, including Free People, Brandy, Urban, etc. and they didn't take a SINGLE THING. I had a brand new Urban Outfitters sweatshirt with the tags still attached that they didn't even take. I honestly wonder how closely they even looked, since they finished "looking" through all 5 bags of clothes in under 10 minutes. I then was lectured about how they don't accept fast-fashion brands, but when I was browsing the store earlier I saw a ROMWE shirt? Doesn't add up. Needless to say I won't be returning. Save yourself some time and exasperation and sell elsewhere. read more

Terrible store & policy. I literally got 2 pairs of jeans Tuesday and couldn't try them on due to Covid which is understandable but apparently they have a Tag AND receipt policy they need BOTH for returns which they don't tell you so my total was $54 I was forced to sell them back for $13 losing a whole $41. The workers and policy are absolutely disgusting couldn't even accomodate a one time instance. First and LAST time shopping there. read more

This one reminded me of the crossroads in SF w/out the stink. I saw a lot of cute items here including their huge variety of shoes. It seemed a lot of Japanese tourists frequent this place. So I took my happy behind over to Crossroads (see Wasteland review) and sold a few more things. I decided to exchange rather than just get cash. This store truly baffles me. Truly. About a year ago, I bought a pair of Joe's Jeans, 2 pairs of Seven's, and a pair of Levi's for under $100 (and some other stuff). Um, hi, how amazing! They have really great prices on brand name apparel (the $45 Marc Jacobs shoes, the $25 Max Azaria skirt, the $45 Paul & Joe dress,...). But they kill me with the random crap. No, I will not pay $13 for a crappy Forever 21 top that is 3 years old and probably cost $14.99 new! Paint me purple and call me crazy! I found a Diesel dress for $45 but an Arden B. sequin makeup bag for $12?! I don't know the method to their madness, but I wish it would stop. They can have some killer items but there is also a ton of underwhelming merchandise. read more

From the markets in Paris to the center of cornfields in Indiana, I have found some of the most unique millinery, dresses, suits, ball gowns and vintage wear! I was very happy with my purchases in Crossroads today. The goods are easy to sort and find, well organized and a treasure trove of current trends. I've never tried to sell anything here, so this review is only from my experience shopping in the men's section. Good selection of decent brands. All pretty contemporary, decent to excellent quality. Usually a nice selection of denim. Prices are very fair. People are nice, if a tad aloof (and/or stoned). Selection is more on the casual side. I've found something good each time I've been here. It's a resale store, so it might take some digging to find the good stuff. This store is an easy way to kill an hour if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I came in here after fall cleaning my closet. The experience really depends on which "buyer" you get. You can come in one day and have everything rejected and come back another with the same stuff and make a couple hundred $. Just beware to read all of the parking signs carefully. So I've been here twice before... The first time was a couple months back and I didn't really find much... but then the other day I came back and walked out with a pair of brand new AG denim shorts with the price tag (of $165!) still on for 20 bucks, another pair of genetic denim jeans perfectly my size, and a pair of almost-new michael kors loafer wedges for $25. CHA-CHING!!! I'm a petite girl (size 24 or 0) and I was extremely happy with their denim selection. they had a a whole row full of my size!!! the shoes were a lucky find, most of their shoe sizes were bigger than 5.5. Honestly, i think everybody's opinion is bound to be different here because items come and go pretty quickly in consignment stores like these. I always find something here. Unlike most other stores on Melrose, this place is actually cheap. Instead of jacking up prices on what is essentially "used" clothing (sure, some of the things are legitimately vintage but most are not), here you will find some great deals. Lots of couture stuff. I go to all the crossroads locations regularly and this one is by far the worst. The staff I dealt with today were rude and incompetent. It took 15 mins to process a routine return (which would have been an exchange if it weren't such an inconvenience for them). I witnessed the manager speaking very condescendingly to another customer prior to being extremely disrespectful to me. She seemed very unqualified and unhappy to be there. They rarely have anything worthwhile anyway. I will keep my business with all the other locations and stay away from this one. Very disappointing! read more

I kind of feel bad giving them two stars but three would be to many. So I arrived at 7:30 to sell 15 items. I have worked in the restaurant industry which is very similar to retail. The staff seemed annoyed that I was selling clothes. They even locked the front doors and put the closed sign up at 7:45. I got to hear all the pertinent information regarding who called off sick to work, what needs to be done for the next day, ect.... waited 20 minutes for someone to help me. I understand what goes on in the retail world so I understand. However that is not my problem nor do I feel I need to hear it. I will not go back to this location again to sell my clothes. read more

Would give 1 star but the staff was friendly and polite, despite undervaluing the product I was selling. Can't find the location I went to on yelp, so I'm just posting on this one. Went in today to sell some of my excess shoes. 2 pairs were not worn and the other 2 were barely worn. Ended up selling 4 pairs, because I waited too long for them to sort through for me to leave without a sale. Amongst them, 2 were $165 original price (Coach, Alvin Klein), one was $170 (Kenneth Cole New York) and the last was $120 (also Kenneth Cole New York). Nothing spectacular in terms of being designer or not, but the gross value was $620. I received approximately $32. That's $8 a shoe, which is ridiculous. I received less than 5% of their initial value despite bringing in shoes that were in great condition, especially considering that buyer I was working with loved one of the pairs I brought in. I went to a consignment store closer to where I lived later, where I sold a different pair of shoes (one they didn't take here) and got $14 easily. Anyways, save your time and cut the middleman, just download poshmark and sell your items there, that's what I'm doing now, because it's too much of a hassle to deal with this every time I want to sell something. read more

Yet again I scored and purchased 2 items, the variety at this Crossroads is by far the best and I have no bad comments about the customer service experience I had. As a seller, I wouldn't waste my time unless you want to pretty much give your good stuff away for free. They pay absolutely nothing. Whenever I'm in the area I like to stop (if I can find a parking spot) at Crossroads and check out what bargains I can find for the season. They always have new merchandise because they are buying clothes from people everyday. I have found some great designer jeans here that look barely worn for a fraction of the price if I were buying brand new. I like that they have men's and women's clothing and that they have fitting rooms to try before you buy. This is not a retail store so don't expect salespeople to be there to help you find a size or a different item. Most items are one offs since they are used items. I like to browse through the racks and maybe find that one designer piece that works into my wardrobe without having to spend tons of cash. Plus, I firmly believe in reduce, reuse and recycle. read more

Review for selling clothes here only: I had a huge surplus of good quality items that I wanted to move to make way for a new wardrobe. My items were clean, basic and ready for the floor. Or so I thought. It seems to me that the best way to make this work is to forgo getting paid and use their store credit instead. The value of your items is higher if you use a store credit compared to getting the cash. One thing you will need here is patience and quite a bit of it. I sallied in on a weekday evening with my bags in tow. Mostly basics such as shirts, light sweaters and jeans. Even some designer items, as well. I signed in to get in queue to have my items evaluated. Several folks in front of me were unloading industrial-sized suitcases of clothing. I observed that even after sorting through huge quantities of stuff, only a handful of items were getting bought by the store. My turn comes. A young woman rapidly sorted through my items. She was nice enough but I felt rushed and she didn't really explain what she was looking for. I soon realized she was making one big pile - a "NO" pile. In 4 large bags, the only thing they ended up buying from me was an American Apparel t-shirt for under $3 bucks...$5 if I wanted a store credit. I asked why my pairs of designer brand jeans had the like been turned away. The answer was that things were hemmed for someone too short and a lot of my clothing was "too junior looking." I am short. Unreasonably so, in my opinion. These folks weren't looking for anything hemmed to someone my height. i decided to forgo the shopping and got in line to wait 10 minutes for my pittance. As I shoved the last of my rejected clothing into their bags, I realized a few things about what they seem to accept: 1) Items that are clean (this is a no-brainer). They have trained eyes to look for stains, tears and holes. Don't waste yours or anyone else's time trying to move your ratty old gym t-shirts with the holes and the sweat stains. 2) Items that are in-season, on-trend and not "unusually" sized. It seems they have a pretty narrow window for what they will accept and in turn, what ends up on the floor. My suggestion is that if you are very short (as I am), very tall or plus size, your purchase choices will be limited here. Don't try sneaking those sweaters (no matter how "light" you may think they are) in to be purchased in spring time. Not happening. Also, keep your disco mirrored platforms shoes from 1976 home. 3) Designer items are especially welcome here - provided of course they meet the above-mentioned criteria. Because of it's location in Hollywood and the clientele to which it seems to cater, your designer duds could find a home here but I wouldn't anticipate that you will receive what you expect to for them. All in all, I decided it was ultimately far better to take my items to the Out of the Closet thrift store where I could get a tax write-off and hopefully do some good. Bottom line: Unless you have some very extraordinary items you're willing to part with for less than you'd like and unless you're willing to keep that hard-won money in the store by using their in-store credit, I'd say skip it and try another recycled clothing store. Better yet, be a doll and donate your clothes to folks who could really use them :) read more

The Crossroads in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Boulevard accepted my clothing for resale whereas the Crossroads on Melrose did not, and although I am not necessarily complaining about that, because the determination is based upon the findings of each individual attendant. I can not state more clearly that the attendants at the Melrose location were not only incredibly snotty, they were condescending and entirely unfriendly. It was my first time at Crossroads, and I had stated that, and I might have seemed rather naive, but their attitudes and lack of patience really left me feeling sour and dejected. These girls need not only a lesson in dressing themselves, but a lesson in common courtesy. The only reason I'd go back would be to tell them all of this to their faces. read more

Selling at Crossroads is kind of the worst experience. Tried to re-sell several pairs of shoes that I had brought from them a few months earlier, never wore, but couldn't return because it was past their return policy date. The male buyer immediately dismissed the shoes and said they weren't in style. AYFKM? A) I had literally just bought them from that exact location B) they are classic shoes that are always in style. Save yourself the time, hassle and holier than thou buyer attitude there and sell your clothes elsewhere. If it weren't for the fact that that I hate spending full retail prices in clothes, not only would I never sell at Crossroads again, but I'd also never shop their again either. read more
