This place is TERRIBLE! I was told to sign in to sell my stuff and that I would get a text when ready. I went back over 2 hours later when I received said text and was rudely told I'd have to wait. 40 minutes later I was told there was still someone ahead of me and "I have no idea why that text was sent to you." I came in a few days ago and was utterly disappointed. The only redeeming point of this store was a sales associate by the name of Valerie who helped me at the fitting room. The wait to sell was over 140 minutes, on a weekday afternoon, and the two buyers were just chatting amongst themselves, seemingly in no rush. Marissa and Betty barely looked at the clothes they were going through, however, that did not make them go fast. Instead they just talked between each article of clothing and lingered between each buy. It was as if they did not want to take another buy. I had brand new Kate Spade bags, Madewell sweaters bought within the last two years with no pilling or waist band, and doc martens and timberlands with minimal wear. They treated them all as if they were garbage, with Marissa being exceptionally rude throughout the process. Her and Betty continued to talk throughout the buy about very inappropriate sexual things; I would not want children around them. I was ignored throughout and then they did not buy a single thing. I took my items to the Shattuck store, where they bought all but one piece and Lici was a charmer. Never again going to the location on college. Shame on you betty and marissa. read more

I made an account just to write this. I came here on a Thursday afternoon to sell. I was told the wait would be an hour. The wait was actually 2 or 3 hours. Our stuff was in excellent condition and they didn't take a thing because it was from either Forever 21, H&M, Victoria Secret Pink (Shirts), Abercrombie, or Target which were stuff we thought would be able to sell since they were popular brand names. A few of our clothes belonged to the categories they were asking for like plaid shirts but they wouldn't take them because it was from one of those brands. If only we were warned ahead of time what brands sell and do not sell we would've just brought it to Good Will. What a waste of time. I suggest to anyone who wants to try their luck to just drop it off and get it 24 hours later. It's not worth the wait at all. I just lost a lot of respect for this place. They should make clear what and what would not sell including brand names. read more

I wont be back to this location. The staff has completely changed from the sweet, chipper, fun staff to these pretentious, stuck up people that don't greet you and pretty much insult you while going through the clothes they don't accept! My last visit selling I already had a card with $20 that the cash out clerk confirmed but said she could add my current $30 from sales to the card. Im not sure what she did but she said she loaded it incorrectly so it would show the previous $20 via gift card and the $30 "the other way". Went there yesterday to purchase a skirt and only the $20 showed. I was trying to explain to the sales clerk about the other $30 and showed her the print outs for both and she rudely said I don't know what you're talking about, its not on here. So great..the $30 is MIA and thats the second time this has happened at this location. I had some sales a couple months ago, check out clerk loaded it onto a card that I tried to use at another Crossroads in SF...didn't work and there was about $25 on that card, even had the print out and still didn't work! So...if you're selling and they load a card for you..ask them to test it before leaving the store because apparently they're not doing it correctly and I just lost $50 from sales in the past few months all due to cards not being loaded correctly. Crossroads is bullshit. Do not sell your clothes to them or leave 24 hours. They will rip you off!!!!! I went in to the crossroads store yesterday around 7:15. They closed in an hour and I had every intention of selling my clothes. The woman at the front told me that the wait was an hour. And the store closed on an hour so the best option would be to leave over 24 hours and come back to pick up the store credit. So I signed the slip they give you and checked the donate clothes we do not buy box. I was under the impression that they would buy about half of my clothes then donate the rest which I am fine with. Today came and I went into the store to pick up the store credit I would get. I gave one of the girls my slip and she checked the computer and told me that they did not buy any clothes at all and since I checked the donate box that meant that they immediately donated my clothes and gave me nothing. I believe that they were dishonest with me and probably didn't take the time to look through ny clothes and just kept it all for then selves. I'm pretty sure if I return next week I will find ny clothes being sold inside. I was very unhappy with the service I received. And I will not be returning . I don't like that they took advantage of me. When I asked the woman why they didn't buy any of my clothes. She told me that it was because it wasn't in season or they were not buying many things at this time or ny clothes wasn't the brands they were looking for. The clothes I brought in were mostly shorts and Hollister Jeans I spent at least $50+ on. And the shorts were hardly worn. I just can't bring my self to believe that they really didn't find anything that they didn't want. I believe I was taken advantage of and reading the other review. Slight anxiety attack walking in here, what with all the negative reviews about rude service. First time selling wares and after skimming the reviews... I HAD A PLAN. Casual pieces (e.g. Gap, Kenneth Cole, Old Navy) ---] Crossroads Designer stuff (e.g. cashmere, BCBG) ---] Pretty Penny Pleasantly greeted. Told the girl this was my first time selling and she kindly explained the process and what they're currently looking to buy. Leave your bags, they tag what they want (you get 30% of their price if you want cash and 50% if you want store credit), shop around, she calls your name, show your id, decide on cash or store credit and then you're off. By the time I finished browsing the store, she called my name. 15 PIECES = $90 After browsing, it's obvious they don't carry high-end labels, so please refrain from trash talk when they reject your Rachel Pally. If you want to buy clothes here at a good price, they can only offer low trade prices. Store has electric bills and rent to pay too! It is what it --used clothes resold at a cheap price. There is no "hit or miss" rule with this store. If I walk in, I'm leaving with something new and fabulous. Guaranteed. And I'm not talking about funky 'this has potential' sort of items you would find at thrift stores. Oh no, they carry "only the most current trends", as they say, which makes shopping here a cinch, but selling here pretty dismal (unless you have all practically-new, in-season, well-laundered garb, prepare for rejection). Work clothes, party clothes, accessories, jewelry, shoes. Bohemian, minimalist, preppy, gothic...they've got it all. Prices are not ridiculously low, but at least half of what you'd pay retail. The store is organized by color, which I love. Dressing rooms are spacious and abundant, though the check-out line gets backed-up on weekends. But hey, you've got an armful of your new favorite clothes, so you can handle the wait. When it's all said and done, celebrate your shrewd stylishness across the street at Toast Wine Lounge (where, perhaps your boyfriend escaped to hours ago), and drink to your ever-crowded closet! read more

#1 The line to sell things here is ridiculous. It can frequently take hours on a weekend. And you never know what they'll take because each person is different and likes different things. It's frustrating to waste hours of your life if they are only going to take 1 item. Last time I brought in some (barely worn) designer work clothes and they did not take a single thing because my stuff was "too nice". So the people who shop at crossroads don't work? Good to know. The weirdest thing was as I was looking around the store they had some items that made me think, "really? They took that?!". I have no idea how they decide but it needs some consistency training asap. #2 The people who work here are unprofessional and have serious attitude. One star for the complete lack of basic customer service and selection of so-so clothing (there are some hidden gems). You would think they were selling Dior by the sneering look on the salesperson face as she sorted through the consignment offerings (not just mine either!). And the yelling and inability to keep track of who had checked in on the "selling" waiting list. Apparently everyone has requested them to be sorted by size but management hasn't changed this. Goodwill sorts this way and that's what makes shopping there a pain in the but. Let's just say this is probably the last time I will walk into A crossroads to buy or sell. I have been going to cross roads for almost 2 years to sell and the girls here use to be nice and remember people. Now going into crossroads I never no what I'm going to get. Last time I got a girl who took forever to look through my clothes and had no people skills what so ever. She could not have a conversation and kept having to go to the cash wrap and help others. It took over an hour for her to look through my bag. After that experience I gave crossroads the benefit of the doubt to never go back and get her to look through my clothes. This time I got a new girl. However she was even worse. She started to look through my stuff and she looked at my stuff different then anyone else. She wouldn't even look at the product but just the name brand. I understand that some of my clothes were more summer than fall, but give the clothes a chance. I had Lucy Activewear brand new products and she proceeded to tell me they only take LULU LEMON ACTIVEWEAR. Which means they support see through pants. This very much offended me and these were the only words she said throughout the whole 40 minutes it took her to look through my clothes. After her rude remarks she has ruined anything fun about going to crossroads. At the end I got my cash and left. I am not the only ones who have had such a terrible experience this person or their service. A once loved place has been ruined by terrible customer service. read more

Huge giant fan of this Crossroads!! I've been going the College Ave location for at least 8 years. I am so happy that they moved to their larger location! the old one felt like a tease...after you're done browsing that wall of tops, it just ends! I feel that my fashion sense has gotten better thanks to this store...I have to think about if I am able to re-sell what I am about to buy at a store. I have sold here few times already. Make sure your clothes are clean, shirts buttoned up, and zippers zipped! Also look on their website to see what they are accepting currently. It'll help you clean out your closet efficiently, and know what you should save for other months. I overheard one of the employees talking to a customer, telling her that clothes around small-medium sell better than larger clothes. Everyone who works there is really friendly, I've never had a problem with any of the employees. I suppose that they could come off as snobby, but I dont really notice it. They are way nicer than many stores I've been to in Oakland/Berkeley. I drop by anytime I am in the neighborhood. I usually always find something, mostly things that I have been wanting full-price from other stores, but are now here for half the price! I do love a good salvation army dig, but its nice to have a store like Crossroads where they have done all the digging for you. It costs a bit more than a general thrift store but I know that I am getting something that I will probably never be able to find at a thrift store, in that condition/size/color. I've been to their other locations in Berkeley, some SF ones, but i still come back to this one. Its not young like the Berkeley location, or filled with weird designer clothes like the SF ones. Rude service. Worse place to go. The employees that work there are horrible people. I tried to sell my items (mostly from Bebe, bebe sport and Guess). After I politely declined that $7 dollar offer for my $70 blouse with the tag still on it, she rudely rolled her eyes and stuffed my bag with my clothes. I turned and she had the nerve to tell her co-worker " she has such bad style". hahahaha.... I think it's hiliarious. THE WORST customer service ever. I asked for a price fix on my $27.50 sweater to $20 because the exact same sweater (different size) was on display for $20, and they wouldn't do it. Instead, I got a bunch of excuses, ending with "the buyer paid the seller too much for your sweater, so we had to price yours higher. We'll reprice the display sweater and talk with the buyer". How exactly does that help me, the customer standing in front of you trying to buy a sweater? As anyone in customer service would tell you, the correct move would have been to give me the lower advertised price. Shame on you, Crossroads. read more

It's rare I find anything here, so I was pretty excited to get a really cute blazer last time I was there. Brought it home, and it smelled of cat pee. If you know cat pee you know its a super toxic potent chemical that never ever comes out. Total bummer. I smell check at thrift stores, and give a general B.O. whiff at resale places, but I kind of expect Crossroads to pre-screen for cat pee. I guess I'm naive. So please smell before your sell; smell before you buy. and double smell before you wear it out, or you'll be like me that time my cat peed in my shoes and I wore them all day, not knowing it was me, and blaming my date for being stinky. I live close by and have been coming here for the last year. I've only had one or two staff members actually be pleasant to me, the rest seemed to be rude and annoyed that I was interrupting their day to ask a question. Doesn't quite make the customer want to come back when you don't even feel wanted in the first place. Today I came with two large bags of clothes, some never worn. Not only did it take a quick 5 min to scan my bags (did you see everything??) but no items were taken for the reason of "the items were worn out". I was browsing the store to find stains on Outdoor voices leggings, but my once worn summer top from an Australian boutique didn't make the cut? Sadly a disappointing experience. Possibly one of my favorite crossroads besides the one in Santa Monica. I love the fact that I am able to buy brand new clothing at such a discounted rate. Most things they purchase still have tags on them! Whoever is the buyer is doing a great job! They shop for all types of styles and the pieces can really be worn by anyone! I've seen such a diverse amount of women shop here. From old granola looking chicks, to really trendy hipsters. Oh. Then there's me, the average girl searching for some cute work clothes. lol! I've never heard of the idea of a chain of boutique thrift stores! Hahah! The idea is kind of silly to me--why pay retail for junk you can get at a garage sale for a few bucks?? WELL, I was wrong about Crossroads Trading! Obviously, as a guy, the selection wasn't as wide or varied for me as the womens' (but it's like that in every store that sells to both men and women---men are considered fashionable if we just wear, like, ONE accessory, so we don't need as much I guess, hahaha!). But, the selection is definitely a matter of quality over quantity. Because of the nature of the store, you don't always find something that you want. That's fine, because it's really fun to root through their stuff, and it's like they did a first go-round at three thrift stores, and pulled a selection that's feasible to wear as "fashion" or just wear at all, and easier to navigate than a St. Vincent dePaul's! QUALITY: Everything is priced very fairly, and in excellent condition--if it's damaged, there will be an obscene discount (which recently prompted me to buy a stained cotton striped jacket---I'm going to just muck up the rest of it the next time I do a painting, and make it blend in, hahah!) PRICE: Mens' Calvin Klein leather slip on dress shoes....QUALITY-- in good condition, for 10 BUCKS!! Size 13, too! In higher-end retail you sometimes pay extra for that! Blazers less than $30, and a decent selection of sizes for being a piecemeal collection! Womens' jewelry is a steal. Purses, not so much--you're better to get your ass to Chinatown! :P But, generally, the womens' selection is crazy-cheap and even more brand-ish, at a bargain. THEIR NICHE: They haven't replaced the thrift store in that you wont be able to go in and get a $2 pair of jeans, $2.50 coffee table and an old Mama's and the Papa's record for 75 cents. Still, if you shop somewhere like Old Navy or Target for clothes, save yourself the bank of paying retail for single-stitched clothing that will last you 4 months, and get something that's more unique, will (and HAS) last(ed) longer, and will likely STILL be a few dollars less expensive! STAFF: Hipstery-staff. Just wear sunglasses and ignore them, they aren't bad people :) Or chat it up with them about your giant floral hair barrette, skinny jeans and/or mens' halter-top! :P GEMS: Dig, and you'll find some sick fashion items. Dig even HARDER and you'll find some quality designers! I bet you could find, like, a Ferragamo scarf or something for really cheap if you went every day for 2 weeks. Sounds crazy, but I bet some of you out there WOULD! SELL: Oh, and you can sell them your clothes!!! So, go in with an armful of stuff, and come out with 2 new pieces! I mean, honestly, it's kind of a better thing to donate to a thrift store (Goodwill over Salvation Army, if you aren't homophobic!), because then, someone who is really hard-up will get your clothes for a dollar instead of 10, but if YOU are hard-up, then come here with all your garb and donate!!!!! They're slightly selective, of course. Anyway, it seems like this store and stores like it are more commonplace here. I'm used to either vintage, low-end thrift, or retail. (HAHAHA, "low end thrift" --sorry, I'm still getting over the idea that there are high-end thrift stores like this!) This whole bubble of clothes buying is new-ish and awesome to me, and if you haven't already gone, then GO!!! There is a good chance they can do something for you that vintage, low-end thrift or retail cannot----with price, quality, and style! read more

When I pay a visit to Crossroads, 4/5 times, I leave the store with something in toe. I've also sold a bunch of my old clothes here. The way I see it: If I can downsize my closet by selling 7 or 8 articles, and leave the store with 3 new (to me) pieces, without having to open my wallet, then I'm fully satisfied. The style of clothing here is pretty current and the labels tend to come from mall stores, with the occasional designer label thrown in (though the designer clothing is usually hanging on the wall). If eclectic and vintage are more your taste, I suggest Buffalo Exchange on Telegraph. If you plan on selling clothes here, keep in mind that, yes, they are somewhat selective (more so than at their Shattuck location). If you don't like to face rejection (it makes me a bit uncomfortable, too), just tell the employee who's "buying" your clothes that you're going to browse around while she sorts through your stuff. Terrible customer service!!!!! It takes at least an hour to get through the line to pay. I think this is because they hire young people who don't give two recycled $#!+s about other people's time. If you want to chat to some "fashionable" young people about god knows what "What is Obama's last name any ways?" "you care about animals right? I mean we all do" then by all means shop here. Every time I have attempted to purchase something I always spend more time waiting in line then I do picking out clothes and trying them on. and the best part about it... they are fully staffed!!!!! The last time I wrote about this store, it was nestled in a cramped hole-in-the-wall. Not anymore; Crossroads has moved since, a couple blocks north, to a much larger, brighter location. It's only slightly smaller than the Berkeley location. Gone are the embarrassing moments of elbowing fellow shoppers as you pick out that cute miniskirt, or getting a cramp from pushing through overstuffed racks. The staff finally brought out a good majority of their inventory, got more people working in the store, and, with large windows, display their wares and entice the thrifty shopper. I stopped by this new location a few times, but only today did I try selling some of my old garments. Here's a note to prospective sellers: make sure your stuff is actually fashionable, in-season, and smaller than L. Their criteria for sellable clothing is pretty strict. The lady who helped me today said my old sandals may have better luck further into the summer season, and sadly had to reject all my clothing items. Guess I better shape up my fashion sense. The clothing selection is decent. It's definitely tuned towards the latest fashion trends, so people who prefer something more toned-down may have trouble. Still, I was able to walk out with some light summer fare, and I can't complain about the service. The staff is very helpful and nice; kudos to that. The items are all in good shape too. This is your chance to claim your favorite brands at a fraction of retail price, and smile when your friends ask you where you got those sweet shiny boots. The vibe has changed. It's worse. I don't come here often because it's out of the way, yet they still know me as I have been shopping crossroads for over 20 years. 20 YEARS. Found an amazing DVF wrap dress, priced accordingly. Tried it on to discover that the hem was coming undone. Asked them if they could mark it down. "We don't do discounts anymore." Huh? Fine. I know how to fix it but not the point. Then I go to pay and they have a conniption because my trade credit and return credit are on the same card. "Somebody must have made a mistake." Nope, I said. My favorite place to shop! The prices keep getting better & better. The selection most of the time is a hit; I rarely leave empty-handed. They are specific with contemporary styles and brands as they should be. This store in particular is always full & busy! So don't be surprised with their need to be selective. After living in LA for 4 years and stopping in Crossroads in Santa Monica at least once a week to excitedly try on designer shoes and dresses and jeans and jackets (oh the memories!), and where I once found some Yves Saint Laurent heels for under $40, I was more than anxious to visit the local Crossroads once I moved back to the East Bay. I've sold here about 3 times now. The only thing that they seem interested in are my practically unworn jeans (most of which happened to come from the Santa Monica location). Everything else they picked over, turning their noses up at my items. Which is fine, because I understand that there's a process- things they deem sellable and not. However, one chick in particular tends to not even say "hello" to me, sifts through my stuff, and sends me on my way...without a single word! If you're going to sell, I say go to Buffalo Exchange in Berkeley on Telegraph. They're waaaayyy more friendly, more open to different types of clothing, a bigger store, and if they don't buy your clothes/shoes they actually explain WHY, instead of bundling them up in a pile and pushing it toward you like it's a pile of dirty rags (which my clothes certainly are not). Also BE has bought twice as many clothes from me as the College Ave. Crossroads, and I've alternated going to one or the other first giving them priority pickings. At this Crossroads in particular, it seems like the only people who buy/sell/trade here are stay-at-home "fashionable" moms, and young adults who shop at Urban Outfitters...not really the stuff I'm into, so I guess I'll just limit my Crossroads shopping trips to when I'm back in LA. read more

Great location. Free parking available at Nestle next door. Friendly staff, the managers especially are awesome, usually doing the buying down the end. For Selling You have options 1. You can trade or sell. You get more if you trade ( meaning they give you a gift certificate for cross roads rather than cash) 2. Drop off or wait ( TRUST ME, you are gonna want to drop off and go back a few days later) 3. You can ask for whatever they don't buy back or you can have them donate it for you. If you go with the donate option leave your stuff in a bag you don't mind losing not one you want back cause it's getting donated too!! Buying... Crossroads doing lots of buying means every few days there is something new to find. I love getting jeans and shoes here! They are in great condition. The cloths are sorted by color and gender not size so it's a good and bad thing. Bad because you have a lot more hunting to do. Good because with all the sorted brands you could be a small or a large depending. Happy hunting! P.S. I also love the donate coin you are given for bringing your own bag. Similar to the Whole Foods ideas they usually have 2 charities ( often local ) you can donate to. So not only is it not an extra 10cents you get to give back!! read more

1) Great choices - I salute the buyers. I feel they've raided my own mind and picked the pieces that I'd have in my ideal wardrobe. I usually walk out feeling snazzy and proud of my thrift, though a little guilty too. Heck, when a place is relatively inexpensive, the compensatory over-buying usually commences. 2) I'm not an easily intimidated person, but the staff can make a gal walk out, Charlie-Brown style, head down and shuffling her feet. Example: Myself: So, what do you think about all black and [pointy] brown boots? (mind you, I've seen it rocked well before, usually on twig-like figures with gnarly hair) Hipper-than-thou employee: "ugewechh," followed by an old junior-high "UM, No." (Actually, it's difficult to replicate the disgusted, guttural sound that emanated from the depths of her ruffly v-neck top, but paired with an eye-roll, I was outta there). 3) I'd caution you to look around before you SELL any pieces here. Despite the sometimes off-putting manner of the staff, I still dig the place. Anyway, clothes are really just a means to keep your ass from getting frostbitten and the feds from stamping a censor tag on your butt. Let's not take it all too seriously, yeah? read more

Most of my experience here is as a seller--with slight hoarding tendencies, it helps me to purge a few times a year. They are definitely particular, so I've had the most luck with anything designer (including gently used Lululemon...who knew). If you're looking to make a few bucks --and I do mean few--while cleaning out your closet, just be prepared to wait a bit, unless you're coming in really early in the middle of the week. They have the selling process pretty streamlined; unfortunately, I would say unless they have enough staff to cover the register and the buying counter, you're in for at least a 30-45 minute wait. There is the option of dropping off clothing; they'll have a sell/no sell answer for you in 4 days (it used to be 24 hours, but must've recently changed). I do really appreciate that they explain their buying policies and trends ("X doesn't seem to sell well here") and always offer other places to sell or consign clothing (e.g. Rockridge Rags) if they pass on an item. As for shopping here? Strangely, I don't have the patience for it. I'm thinking of moving into the swapping-with-girlfriends arena; the seller's cash cut is becoming less and less worth the wait. If you tend to add to/subtract from your closet more often, you might like it for getting store credit and an option for purchasing otherwise really expensive designer stuff. read more

Love this place. I've never tried to sell anything here because in general, my clothes are not trendy enough. I love to shop here though. Last time I was in, I got what looked like a brand new pair of black low-top Chuck Taylors, and a tank top for $30 total. My friends in Minnesota think $15 is still expensive for a tank top, but I was happy with it. It's like a lacy going-out-type tank, not just a basic one. Look at me, defending my purchase. Anyway, they have a ton of shoes and good selection. If you like secondhand/vintage stores, definitely check this one out. read more

Have sold to this location a couple of times when seasons change. I have got to get rid of some of clothes and shoes. Pros: The staff are friendly and have conversation while they look through your items. They sell items well priced giving you 35% of payout or 50% for store credit. Nice selection of clothes, bags, and shoes. Cons: The wait for selling can sometimes be a lengthy one. Most of the times it's been worth it for me. That's why I dropped 1 star. Hate to leave a review like this because I was a buyer for 3 years and completely understand the stresses that are put on people in retail however the way I was treated was plain disrespectful. I was told at 6:55 by a floor supervisor that the buying line was closed even though I'm fully aware of the policy "we buy until we are closed". When I asked why that was the case they told me that due to special circumstances she was allowed to close the buy line. I have empathy for that situation bc I understand what it's like the be the only buyer on the floor with 10+ plus people in line but even in those situations I was never given the opportunity to stop buying. There are other solutions like bagging your buys or leaving a bin. The attitude and overall demeanor that I received from this employee was extremely rude. A drop off was never offered to me as an option until I asked for one. They answered that they weren't doing drop offs and only until after I asked about that policy she agreed. They offered to take my items and I asked if there was paperwork I needed to fill out. I was told "there is no paperwork" and I responded "I don't want to just hand over my personal items" which caused the employee to have a emotional reaction and told me I needed to leave. I believe this employee took personal offense to what I said which is unfortunate bc it has nothing to do with me leaving my personal items with her but in general without having any paperwork or contract. I take public transportation and even tho this location is only a couple blocks away from the Bart station it is still a huge inconvenience. Luckily I was able to call the Shattuck store and they ensured me I would be able to sell to them up until closing. Writing this review while waiting for the next train towards Shattuck (that of course has been delayed which is just my luck!) *update definitely didn't make it in time and wasted 2hrs in total of my evening read more

crossroads doesn't have much inventory in men's pants and shirts. what i saw was reasonably priced in the ten's. just normal sizes were visible upon perusal. racks are cramped together, not much aisle spot. may check back when time is more abundant. read more

I have always been a Crossroads fan and avid shopper at many different Crossroads. This location seems to buy the same as others, they are pretty consistent on what they are looking for and will explain why they didn't buy something. Prepare to wait in line to sell, especially if you come in right when they open. I like to shop while selling so that is no issue for me. This store is very well organized and the people that have helped me are always friendly. My biggest complaint is that every time I have been in I have had a hard time finding small sizes in tops at this location. Not sure why, but it seems like most of the tops are large or xl. Other than that this is a convenient location with a small parking lot in the back! +1 star for that, just watch the time limit. read more

Ugh. I hate stores like this. They always seem to cater to the hipster types, rather than the fashionable people they claim to be serving. Add to that the fact I am a normal sized woman of 5'10" and they neither carry nor take stuff to fit us girls who are taller and believe in eating, god forbid they realize tall women should want cute clothing too. They only reason why I gave them two stars is for the staff. While pretentious when it comes to the clothes they buy, they are actually nice and gave me a few suggestions on where to take my stuff. read more

I don't really come here that often but whenever I do I always find stuff that I like and end up leaving with them. My last trip was just last week. The store itself is clean and neatly organized. They are mostly arranged by color/size, which I think makes it easy for shopping purposes (at least it is for me). They definitely have more selections for women. Men's is limited really. I really came in hoping to find a vintage coat (in the Victorian/Steampunk era) for my husband but no luck. Maybe I am in the wrong place but I thought for sure they would have something. Instead I found stuff for me...so still happy with that...:-) I ended up leaving with a really pretty polka dot dress from Maple, which is an Anthropologie brand for a great deal. As you all know or may not know, Anthropologie is not exactly the cheapest store around. Love their stuff though! And I also scored a super comfy (almost new) black loafers from Clarks...great deal, too! When I needed help one of the staff members helped me willingly. She was friendly and very accommodating. The new Crossroads on College Ave is large, bright, mellow, and absolutely amazing. Reasonable prices, super helpful and friendly employees, and a gigantic, I mean seriously eyePOPPIN jawDROPPIN selection of cute dresses, shirts, and shoes. This is nothing like the old store down the street. Trust me, I have been a huge fan of Crossroads for years and no store comes close to this one. I love the concept of cute recycled clothing for a fraction of the cost. I would definitely classify this place as a high end thrift store that allows one to piece together ridiculously cute outfits. All the clothes and shoes are in great condition and practically brand new. You can find $250+ designer jeans for $45. Cute Marc Jacobs jackets hang on the wall, available for trying on. Waiting in line, I stood behind this chick who ended up buying 40 something pairs of shoes, no joke. My only gripe about this store is that like other Crossroads, it closes at 7pm on the weekdays. And I thought that Spring forward was meant to encourage consumer spending. Give folks more daylight hours and out come the wallets. It sure would have worked on me! read more

Want to know just how much I love this store? A LOT. This is the 5th location I've ever been to (Seattle and SF) and it's amaaaazing. For the 2 that are close to my home, this one is awesome (compared to the one on Shattuck). This location is a good size, great selection of clothes, shoes, and accessories, good pricing, lots of goodies even on the half-off rack, and they bought a bunch of stuff from me! Sweet. The staff was ALL super friendly from the buyer, to cashier, to dressing room lady. Very welcoming store and I will most definitely be back! ps- there is a parking lot in the back if you need to drive. :) read more

I am a longtime Crossroads shopper... and will continue to shop at Crossroads for years to come. I can get a pair of Joe's jeans for $29. A J Crew dress for $20. And I can get a Marc Jacobs purse for under $100. Umm.. yes, please. WHY would ANYONE shop full-price retail when you can shop at Crossroads? I mean, yeah- you have to hunt a little... but there are treasures to be found!!! And when you're sick of the clothes- just turn around and sell them right back. Duh. read more
