I've been to this location plenty of times and it has always been a great experience with both buying and selling. I personally would like to shout out Eric and Amy for not only being good workers, but for being amazing people overall. They were both extremely helpful and so much fun to talk to. I went in to buy a 25 dollar sweatshirt with cash. I forgot a sweatshirt at home and riding the train all the way to MacArthur park. I have been here twice in the past couple of years. Both times didn't have any luck in selling my clothes. I have piled up 3 piles of clothes and since I no longer needed them decided to go to Crossroads and try to see if I could make a buck or two. Walked in today and got a nice, warm greeting from the security guard standing by the door. He told me where to go and I approached the desk/table and was greeted by 2 ladies. They made 3 piles of my clothing items and din't say a word, not even a smile. From the look on their faces I wasn't sure if they were going to take my clothes, sell them or not. After sorting my clothes, they all piled in the same bag and gave it back to me saying that "those clothes are not really right for their store", like their clothes WERE better than mine!! Felt disappointed and grabbed my bag and left. Store was in a good, clean condition. Had a dressing room and other CHEAP material/fabric of articles to choose from. Street parking only. This isn't my favorite location but it's the closest to me and I will admit they do have some good finds! A lot of good options for men too actually! It all just depends sometimes I make out with a good amount and others it's just a fun day trip but I do think it's worth a stop by. It's also a lot more affordable than wasteland nearby and you can usually get some lulu stuff here and urban outfitters since those stores are close! read more

I was physically assaulted in this store. I went to this location last weekend to sell some clothes, first time at this location. I was carrying a big bag full of stuff. I went to the front and asked one of the employees if there's anywhere safe I can leave my bag while I shop around and wait for my turn. She didn't even look at me, she just coldly said "the window" and continued to ignore me, which in hindsight should've been my first sign to gtfo of there (side note, if you prefer that people choose the store credit option when selling, make a secure place where we can keep our bags while we shop around, it's common sense. At the Melrose location the security will immediately take your bag and put in a secure location). So I'm carrying my huge bag in both arms like a sack of flour (as are all of the other shoppers) and I attempt to step into the narrow aisle when an older woman looks my way, enraged that I didn't say 'excuse me' as I walked past. She proceeds to get into my personal space, standing behind me with her front fully pressed against my back, and uses the force of her body to shove me into the clothing rack. I immediately went to the front and let them know someone was just aggressive with me in the back of the store, the employees looked concerned and stunned but no one took any action. One kind employee came up to me and said she saw the interaction, that she knows I did nothing wrong and was sorry, which I appreciated. I waited outside for a bit to see if they would approach that woman or remove her from the store, but as far as I know, nothing happened. She just kept shopping. I've since learned that she is a frequent shopper not just at this location, but at others as well. Here's a physical description in case you want to avoid the pusher: mid to late sixties, blondish gray hair, 5'6-5'7, face full of filler and injections, probably named Karen. It's not this store's fault that this happened, but I'm disappointed in how the store handled it. Highly recommend the Melrose location, I've always had a good experience there. read more

I should have listened to the advice in the other reviews! Why, you ask? Because they are RUDE! Just downright condescending and RUDE! At this location. Go to the location on Melrose Ave in Hollywood. You'll have a MUCH BETTER experience. Plus that location is cleaner, has more space, and a better selection. So the story with this location: I went in to do a return because I was given a one time courtesy by another employee at the location where I originally purchased the item. She told me to just let them know when I arrived to make the return... well, when I said her name the first two women at the counter looked at me like I was lying and said "we don't have a (name) that works here". I said, I know, she told me to tell you that she said it's ok for me to do the return at this location. So then the third woman, whom I'm assuming was the manager says I can help you. I go over to her, she asks again. I explain and then she proceeded to look at the bottoms of the USED SHOES that I bought, like I hadn't purchased them used and rubbed her hands across the bottoms looking at me like I had made them look like that. I then had to say, they were like that when I bought them, but the problem is, they're ripped and I didn't see the rip when I purchased them and I'm not paying over $100 for ripped shoes. The receipt was already out. Then she gives me grief for not having the tag on them still. I let her know I had it in the bag but had it off when I got home before discovering the rip. Then she goes into a whole song and dance about only giving me store credit. I told her NO that's not what the person at the original location said. Then, she went on about me being 2 days past the 7 day return policy. I told her again that (name) said it was ok because the location on Ventura was the closest to me. She was so condescending and acting like I had stole these shoes despite having the receipt, the tag, the crossroads canvas bag that I paid for, and my writing the the name, date and time on the back of the receipt after having spoken with (name)... it was THE WORST experience and I finally said FORGET IT I'll drive the additional 30 minutes and go back to the other location. The service at this place is questionable . I took a bag with 4 pairs of good quality boots but they wouldn't take them. Plus I had to carry the bag around the store while I looked around and waited to be called. The lady who took my bag said they were too high and they were only taking items for fall. Seriously? I saw other boots in the store that were much higher than the ones I brought in. And since when don't women wear boots during fall season. Freaking ridiculous excuses. They told me to try back in December, which is just a month away. They act like they're such a high end store. While , they do have some designer popular/trendy brands not all of their merchandise is top-notch. I've seen worn out clothing items and white shoes with a yellow tint or just plain abused. Also, The ill mannered girls at the counter are not too friendly and act like they don't want to be bothered to do their job. The workers in the dressing area are much more helpful and courteous. I'll probably take the advice from other reviews I've read and go to the Melrose location. Or better yet Buffalo exchange. On one positive note, their shoes were organized by size and the place looked clean. This is not enough for me to return to this location or recommend anyone to come shop here. I stopped in here as I was in the neighborhood and really wanted to see if I could find any gems today. I walked in too a busy afternoon, people down every aisle. The racks were so full of clothes themselves that you really couldn't look in them. I did find a few things I liked but I didn't fall in love with anything that I had to try on or even take home with me. I have sold her before as well but they are very picky and selective on what they take in. And like all buy, sell or trade places you'll always get more in trade than you would taking the cash. Also note it's only street parking, no lot to park in so be prepared to lug your clothes down the street if you don't get parking right in front. read more

The good: it's fun to find a good deal and support recycled materials rather than buy new! The bad: lugging bags of great clothing there and getting a parking ticket only to find that they've accepted only two items of your huge amount of clothing.. they're way too picky about items and then you look at the racks and you're like why did they select this item? .. prices have been increasing.. salespeople can be a little snobby although some are super sweet.. it's pretty crammed in there and racks can get pretty messy, hard to look through sometimes. read more

Today I had a very disappointing and unpleasant experience at this store. Yesterday I dropped by as I had items from my closet to swap for a pair of Kate Spade shoes and a Linea Pelle bag I saw there. Kate, the person who buys for the store, went through my things and was interested in my Vagabond shoes, the Oddells green dress and mouliette soeurs sheer dress. She offered around $28 for all 3 items. I decided to come back with other things from my closet the next day so I can trade off my stuff with the same amount for the shoes and bag that I wanted. The next day (today) I met with Valeria, who went through my stuff and rejected everything, including the two dresses (the oddells & moulinette seours) and only accepted to trade the Miss look shirt. I told her that yesterday my items were accepted by Kate but she was adamant and asked the lady near her, who was near Kate yesterday. That lady said she didn't remember anything of yesterday and supported Valeria's rejection of what was accepted by Kate yesterday. Surprised, I told both of them that I wasn't lying about what Kate accepted. The lady who was there near Kate yesterday said that she wasn't either and that she didn't remember anything. Well, you aren't lying and I'm not lying, I said, you don't trade items based on fashion trends, store needs or any other criteria but only based on the opinion of the buyer you interact with, which in my case it was Valeria. Perhaps, I should come back when Kate is there? Or just ask Kate or look at your store camera! It is interesting to know that less than 24 hours during a weekend, fashion trends, store needs, etc changed so drastically in the purchase (yesterday) and in rejection, (today) of two dresses and a pair of shoes. My advice to whoever want to swap things is to try to make sure that a buyer who dresses like you checks your items because you'll end up having the same experience I had and get treated as a liar. It is useless hoping to be lucky to have a knowledgeable and respectful buyer when you're later at the mercy of a buyer who is poor mannered, forgetful and feels the need to insult you to validate herself. This behavior is inexcusable and apologies are futile. A note to Valeria, if she or management reads this, a smile goes a long way. You can smile to a customer who is giving unpleasant feedback instead of just walking away. Feedbacks are not insults but rather free information to use to improve areas that perhaps, have been overlooked. I want to add that Kate is excellent, in her manners and knowledge, and in just the fact that she advises to comeback when the weather gets colder to trade my booties instead of saying "this is too conservative" like Valeria said. From my experience, when it comes to the fashion industry, especially recycled fashion that is made of eco conscious buyers and sellers, a business that relies its entire operational and purchasing department on the opinion and the manners of their employees is not reliable and is fickle. This is my first time at Crossroads. I recommend to just donate your stuff to your favorite charity, like I did after I left the store. There are other channels to recycle your things where you'll do good and feel good instead of absorbing all their negative energy when leaving their store - and mostly to be accused of something that you're not. I am leaving this feedback because I was accused of lying (which I wasn't) and to spare others from experiencing and transmitting negative energy that is absorbed and that gets stacked, when you are at the store, one way or another, whether you see the frustration of the sellers waiting in line with their big bags or the buyers rejecting and perhaps, projecting their negativity, insulting you. I know it's difficult, but try not to absorb the negative energy when you leave their store. Good Luck, stay positive and never let anyone treat you poorly and mostly, when something or someone is negative, just walk away but leave your footprints so the next person after you doesn't get mistreated like you were. Waste of time. Took 25 minutes of waiting for our five bags to be checked, name brand clothes new with tags and valued over $50 each, even some prom dresses with hangers, we were just looking to get money quickly, if that wasn't the case we would have sold everything individually in Ebay. When we left to look for restrooms, in less than 10 minutes, miraculously they had finished looking into our bags, this stores employees need a Guinness record or need to work in TSA for how quickly they look into the bags filled with clothes we brought. Jokes aside, the bags came back to us just like we left them, didn't even bother to check them, just for them to tell us that they wouldn't buy anything, but they would buy dirty sandals and shoes. Definitely just come to sell here if you have TikTok Trendy clothes they won't give you much money either. As well prices were terrible, as the selection of clothes that looked like a rack from Burlington with the exception of everything being more than $20 for used clothes. When I first walked in, I didn't know quite where to go to talk to someone about selling an item so I went up to three workers who felt like I was interrupting their conversation during the working hours. One girl (she has short, curly hair) gave me a look up and down with the nastiest look on her face and I stared right back because I was not going to be disrespected like this. Another girl was able to assist me but felt like she did not want to talk to begin with. I waited a good 20 minutes and without even looking up the retail price (I knew what it was and it was VERY up there), she told me that she would buy my item for $15. I actually looked at her in shock, grabbed my items and never looked back. Go to wasteland, they are the BEST and were able to assist me after this whole ordeal!! I took over 10 big bags of clothing, 100s of pieces, dresses, tops, jeans, etc... they told me to wait since it takes a while to go over all items, but I got a call in 15 minutes to go back to shop and they're done!! I doubt if they went through everything as so many bags were not even touched and eventually they took only 12 pieces out of hundreds!!! Gave me $60 cash and that wasn't my problem, I would sell them in any price but they don't buy!!! I have been a seller at Crossroads Trading Co. for the past 20 + years. I began selling in We Ho and have now done business with numerous Crossroads in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas as well as PDX. Of all the locations I have visited, the WeHo store is the WORST in terms of customer service; the young women are rude and usually ignore customers. The manager, Matthew, is lovely but his staff is not and he seems to not care about that. The security guard, Louis (?) is always gracious and provides a sense of safety in an otherwise sketchy area. The two very best stores in the Crossroads Trading chain are Studio City and Costa Mesa by far !! Mila, Amanda, and Jose in Studio City are delightful, helpful, friendly, courteous, and upbeat. Mila took the time to examine my clothing and had a great sense of fashion. The selection of clothing throughout the store was very good. In Costa Mesa, Riley, Taisha, and the entire team are always friendly and welcoming. Again, a nice selection of clothing- I often purchase items when my intent is to sell them, but the selection is so terrific that I rarely walk out empty-handed . + read more

Read every other comment and you'll see the same thing. Rude staff who think they're better than people and they don't buy anything. One of the items I tried selling was a brand new pair of platform sandals (never worn) and they denied. Why? No clue but somehow the dirty ass pair of white sneakers on the shelf behind me got bought - HOW!? Literally had sweat marks on the inside and outside looked like someone peed on them. When reading reviews, I highly recommend checking if the people writing them are sellers or buyers. If you've been to this location, you already know it's pretty small. I've been both a seller and buyer here, and the amount of people complaining that the store didn't buy much (or any) of what they brought in don't seem to realize that first of all; they are not obligated to buy anything from you. If you bring in like-new jeans from a really nice brand, they won't buy them if their jeans rack is full. It feels like that should be common sense, but it's not. Secondly, every location buys different items. I know Free People is popular, but if a location of CR is across the street from a FP store, they're MUCH less likely to buy it. Leaving a bad review because your items weren't purchased is tacky. The staff here are professional and patient, and more than willing to explain their process to anyone who asks. If you're hoping to make more money, look into selling online or consignment. This is a business, so of course they need to prioritize sales over purchasing your "100's of items." The wait is usually 25+ minutes long only for them to reject every item in a span of *maybe* 2 minutes...Unfortunately, a majority of the employees have a bad attitude and many of them don't even bother looking through your clothes. It seems like that's why they have you leave your items with them and walk away, so they don't actually have to sort through it all. "We only buy name brand items" meanwhile half the clothes in store were Shein, Romwe, and Cider They took 3 hours to look through 5 people's bags of clothes, while they just spent 5 minutes looking through mine because I'm reasonably assuming that they were just getting lazy towards closing time. I would like to request a Crossroads trading company address management at this location for their disingenuous and rude behavior with customers. People need their jobs, so I don't think anyone should be fired, however, I think that they should be checked and retrained, maybe by the managers at Echo Park location because they are kind, helpful and chill. The two managers in particular need a big lesson on authenticity, respect and basic common courtesy. I'd been eyeing a hoodie in the front window all quarantine. I'd walk by and see it and wish they were open. Well, guess what friends... they are :) happy camper right here. Sunday we stopped in for some much needed in person shopping. We did have to wait in a line because they are very much enforcing a limited capacity and upon entry we were given the verbal "rules", the new shopping outline and which arrows to follow to guide our shopping/browsing experience. We had a few squirts of hand sanitizer and were on our way. Mask required obvi! and keep 6ft away from others, of course! I thought my hoodie had been plucked up before we made it in after their noon opening, but soon spotted it. Yay! I'd prayed it was my size (what's that after safer and home and eating non stop lol) it was an XS and I was so excited. You aren't able to try anything on right now but you have 14 days to do returns with their new policy. I did a little more browsing, looking for some linen pants, jumpers and dresses for an upcoming trip to Egypt (fingers crossed it's not another 2020 cancelled trip) and found a bunch of items. I purchased several great brands and was out for under $100 for 5 pieces. I recently tried all of my items (jumpers, pants, hoodie, top) and everything fits great, so I won't need to do any returns. I love shopping second hand, leaves more money in the bank to splurge on the quality pieces you need. I often shop at the thrift store but since they aren't open yet Crossroads is a fantastic second hand option right now with amazing brands and quality pieces. I've never sold clothes to them, but maybe I'll give it a try, actually no I probably won't I'm more into donating items than making a buck on them but great selection! I ended up going to a place the sells current, hip and clean "PLUS WOMEN" clothing (unlike your store). I called and specifically asked if your employee if you sell plus sizes and was to to bring them. I didn't see ANY when I walked around the store when I waited for them to go through my clothes. I brought some really hip vintage pieces( (and several were chosen by THE PLUS BUS). Just be honest, you don't care about plus sized women and they just wasted my time asking me to bring them over in the first place. Skinny girls only mentality. SHAME ON YOU! By far my worst experience at a Crossroads. Went out of my way to try a new one. The one in Pasadena is full of designer and rare vintage. This one.... The girl with short curly hair went through three bags of mine. All name brand, 2 Vivienne Westwood dresses, and Dolce boots. They didn't take a single thing.... This confused me but I still looked around. Their designer rack was full of urban outfitters. Go to ANY of their other locations over this one! PLEASE train the staff on designer clothing. I've been shopping/selling here for years and I always find great stuff. I know what they're looking to buy and sometimes my stuff ain't it. I always try to sell stuff that's in season and not just clean out my closet and I usually get enough store credit to get myself a couple of things. I suspect a lot of the negative reviews are from people who are looking to make fast cash, bring their entire closets, and are disappointed when they're out-of-season clothes aren't making them loads of cash. Came in with 2 bags of good quality brand name mens clothing. Literally took less than 5 minutes to go through my clothing which tells me they didn't spend that much time looking at them. Only took 2 things which was a Ralph Lauren button down and a JCrew button down and gave me $13.50 for them which is fine. Didn't take any of my other Ralph Lauren or JCrew things. Also didn't take any of my boohooman, Zara, H&M, Nike, adidas, or under Armour things either. I think they focus on getting high end brands and trendier things which I get.
