Don't bother selling here. Had way less designers than before Christmas and did not look at my stuff just didn't buy anything. 4 bags reviewed in under 5 mins? Really? Do they run out of money before 6 pm? I was told to call ahead and describe my items - which is news to me because the website says they sell till 6 pm and no appointment is needed. Which is it? Guy was too cool for everyone. It's a Pass try a bigger one. Most of the really amazing stuff I saw in the fall was sold and even though they said they were "full" had a lot of Zara and junkier stuff anyway. Saw some dresses with spots and decor at marks. Wasteland seems like it's here to stay. Referring to this location. I have been to other locations in the past, but today was my second time visiting this store. After leaving Crossroads with the bag of clothes that were returned back to me, I wanted to see if I could sell my old clothes to this store. Got a very nice, pleasant greeting by the security guard at the front and he directed me all the way to the back. There were 2 ladies that checked my bags, piled my clothes in different piles and took a very good look at them. Felt like I was trying to sell them my royal oats. Anyway, got rejected again by them telling me that they will not accept my clothes without giving me a reason. That was very unprofessional. All my clothes were in a VERY GOOD CONDITION!! I looked around and didn't even see anything close to or better than what I had in my bags. They put everything in the same bag and told me thank you for coming in, maybe next time. All I wanted to do was sell some of my clothing. They couldn't even accommodate 1, 2 or not even 3 items from my entire wardrobe. I felt a bit disappointed. Grabbed my bags and left the store. Store was clean, had couple of dressing rooms, has 2 entrances and a big parking lot shared with many other businesses.. Prices vary from one item to the next. Buying hours are between 12PM-6PM. They sell, buy, trade, women's, men's clothing, shoes, and accessories. They have many different styles, labels, colors by different designers. Didn't waste much time over there since all I wanted to do was sell my clothes for a buck or two. They also have a lot of vintage stuff. I went in today to sell a couple of stuff and I was helped by Maria and it's not the first time she has helped me out. I always want to write a review because she goes above and beyond. Whoa this location needs a manager. Their Hollywood location is a well oiled machine. The Silver Lake location is run well. This one is such a mess. Employees just partying and gossiping instead of working. Two employees in particular were so rude for no reason, unfortunately not sure how to describe them except for the Asian employee lady and the African-American employee lady. Asked to start a room which is normal at their other locations and was told to go hang it in the corner, etc. Staff on a major power trip lol. Friendly, professional security guard. Otherwise this store went downhill. read more

I went in here this past Thursday after finding out about them online. Kept my fingers crossed that I wouldn't be disappointed. The pros are plenty of free parking, nice higher end brands and clothing you don't see often at other thrift shops. Cons you will pay more than a typical second hand store. And it would be nice if they organized clothing by size. It all seemed a little mixed in together. Overall my experience was pretty good and I walked out of there purchasing a really nice Guess leather jacket. It was a perfect fit. read more

Went here because my son wants to always check out vintage / used high end clothing. If you're into luxury brands it's easy to spot the high end brands as they have shoes bags and accessories are inside glass cabinets. Been here 2x but my son hasn't found anything he wants to buy. While waiting for him I observed a seller haul a box full of goods. They might be better in pricing if you're selling some of your used stuff. Parking in the back and it's next to the nice Barnes and noble in this area. read more

I went into Wasteland in Studio City twice in the same day this week. I went in to browse. I was impressed by the diverse selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories available. All items appeared to be in good condition. I liked seeing a wide variety of styles, patterns, and textures for many items. Many things appeared to be pricey, but of good quality. Have been here multiple times and never really bought anything. Then me and my husband had some stuff we wanted to get rid of so we said we'll bring it here and see if they'll give us anything for the items. All items were in great condition and good companies. They offer you nothing compared to what you bought it for. I brought in a $300 dress and they wanted to give me less than 50$ for it. A joke. Not only that but while the lady there was checking our stuff I saw her showing it to other staff members there as they were laughing at stuff we brought it and mocking names of companies and pieces we brought. I was sitting right in front of them. Overall the employees there are rude and not nice at all. Will not be returning here to try to sell any clothing or accessories in the future I rather donate it to people who need it read more

You can discover some good finds here!! I was very impressed by the collection and the different styles. It feels like it is suitable for many generations but can be more geared towards the younger gen due to the name brands sold and the styles. I was able to find 2 really great button-up tops that were great quality. They were not at a very cheap price but the collections I saw were I believe unique stuff sold that you will rarely see elsewhere in person ever again. They also sell cheaper items that you can look at with their variety of jewelries and accessories. I think it was super cool of the security guard to bring my water bottles to the cashier to keep them safe. I also appreciate the presence of said guard. They have an awesome system of having a safe area for personal belongings, you just need to keep a wooden tag with a number as the placehold for your belongings. Two entrances, one for the parking lot in the back and the other for the main street of Ventura Blvd. Plenty of staff ready to assist and are busy organizing their inventory. A nicely run business!!! Will come back again one day when in the mood for some exploring of new finds!!! read more

I have done my best at reselling my clothing at this shop. They are fair and KWIK and have a great store.

This is my favorite Wasteland location. I've snagged so many pieces in all kinds of price ranges this year (mostly on the cheaper side) that have definitely given my wardrobe the much needed upgrade. There are always so many interesting pieces. Like other locations, the music is loud - most of the time it's good, but that's subjective anyway lol. I tend to think this store is more organized / has as many hidden gems as the Melrose location. The only regular sale is on black friday; other than that, it's always random / select locations / hours as announced, which adds to their cult following lol. They do buy-backs although I think appointments are highly recommended and has certain days/hours. Love that there's plenty of parking in a back lot behind it shared with other businesses. Located on Ventura Blvd. near Laurel Canyon. It's a really good place to peruse if you're looking for any kind of dress for any kind of party, as well. Being my most local location, it's really worth dropping in every once in a while - you never know what you might find! read more

Then, it's the walk of shame, through the entire store, back out to your car ... carrying your full bags of stuff. Maybe that's why I like Wasteland ... to buy. They curate their stuff nicely, including the high end stuff. I've picked up many a designer find over the years at this Studio City location. So it's more vintage and less thrift store. We brought several imported sweaters. One was from Ireland and the other was from England. Both were expensive and in perfect condition. I was offered $8 for the Irish one and $4 for the English sweater. We later went to a high end vintage store on LaBrea and sold the Irish sweater for $85 and the English one for $100. Looking at sweaters in their store, they had high price tags and nothing was very special. This place should be called Waste Of Time Land! read more

Wasteland is one of those high-end, vintage clothing stores. They've been around forever and they're various locations, always offering that unique blend of interesting, curious, and desired fashion. Like all Wasteland locations this store is always changing their variety of items to wear. They have a great selection of both men's and women's clothing, as well as a good selection of shoes and other items. This a well designed store. It's easy to find what you're looking for. And, the staff is always happy to help out if you need anything. Located on Ventura Boulevard, the best parking situation to get in here is probably one of the meter parking spots on the boulevard. Overall, if you're looking for what Wasteland has to offer, this is the place to go. read more

I will never return. I thought I was trapped in hell. The selling process took awhile because it was social hour for the workers. It took almost an hour to go through one customer's clothes because the customer wouldn't shut up which delayed the worker. The music is loud, the staff are prancing around being obnoxious. My advice - skip this place and go to Crossroads down the street. They're lovely. read more

This location is generally less crowded than their other LA stores and the selection feels more curated. The team members are really friendly and welcoming and parking behind the store is so convenient. I ventured in a couple of days ago and the selection of curated wonderful items is mind boggling. This store is chock full of designer and unique pieces and the pricing is very fair. I've been shopping at resale stores including Wasteland and Crossroads for years. This was one of the best experiences I have had. What really struck me is the friendliness of the staff, all of them to be honest. They were helpful and fun, and it really made the shopping feel like I was with a few friends that I had know forever:) I loved the fact that there was no "sales" vibe. Nobody was pushing me or trying to talk me into something. I ended up leaving with 2 dresses, a bag and 2 pairs of sandals. Not bad considering I went in for a pair of jeans! I have never tried selling here but shopping is a fun experience. I was able to snag some pieces of my style in excellent condition. It's a large, quickly rotating selection. They have a lot of what is currently trending. Some people are quicker to trends than others, hence you'll be able to find some lightly used items from last weeks algorithm. If you find something you're on the fence about, I would note it down because it probably won't be there next week. You will find door busting deals on some designer pieces. Some items will be near or equal to retail value i.e. a well worn pair of Adidas Sambas will be priced at $60. Designer from this season or last season (or ten seasons ago) will usually be priced close to retail, despite how worn it is. Some is unprecedentedly overpriced. Odd pricing but you're bound to find something you'll like for a great price. Don't be afraid to try something on, especially if you're going to drop some $erious dough on one piece - they're more than happy to help you. Try everything on. Some of the reps can be slightly snobby, but they're still very helpful and friendly. I would be wary of fakes/replicas. I have no reason to believe they sell fakes but it's just the risk that comes with designer fashion. I like poking my head in and dropping in if my wardrobe demands a nice, quality piece. I prefer this Wasteland over 2nd Street. 2nd Street gets the upper hand in accessories. Wasteland mostly carries 'costume jewelry'. Wasteland plays a lot of vulgar, trashy and misogynistic music which is not only off putting, but lame and tasteless to some such as myself. Others will enjoy if. It's two sides of the same coin in terms of auditory programming. Worth checking out if you're into clothing and fashion. read more

This store has some great clothes... Unique, loud, diverse, and variety... Some shirts can be 25 dollars, others are 175 for higher upscale in demand brands... I had one issue they lost a pair of my chrome hearts pants that I paid a little over 700 dollars for during there "24 hour authentication process I found very unusual... I seen the clerk right it down in the records books but no record was given to me, just come back in 24 hours for 150 dollars and they'll contact me... A couple weeks later when I came to collect and shop they said they were authenticated, to bring them back in.... I said I never got them back and that's when they looked for them didn't find them and then explained that they had video footage of them being handed back to me which didn't happen... There was no offer of compensation and there wasn't any kind of apology or anything they just explained to policy that was not explained to me properly the time before and I was penalized for not following those directions which didn't make any sense to me because nobody ever handed me back to pants I was missing the pants and they were something that I had paid like almost close to $1,000 for her so definitely $150 which I never got they got the pants or they were left here and then they acted like I was some kind of stranger than that I didn't know the rules which nobody ever told me they just took record of it I thought they held it for the authentication and then I never got cashed out so the store itself is beautiful it doesn't have too much stuff and all the stuff they have in there is unique and the prices are fair but I did have this one issue with the manager the free one the worst I to see through dresses and middle-aged short black hair real pretty didn't catch her name... I almost left and then remembered that to leave my name and number just in case they did find it which I also found strange since that's the very first thing that I would do if I was a manager and my things were missing I would leave ask the person to leave their information behind so I can get in contact with him if it was found so make sure that you understand that if you were selling them things that it is giving back to you after certain pictures are taken of it nothing states that are overnight or is considered it donated... I lost $1,000 pants that I was going to supposed to get $154 with no explanation or any kind of solution except for oh this is the fine print you didn't read other than that the store is great.... read more

I like Wasteland. I drop in now and again because they're on my walking route. I don't typically shop here but I have spotted some cute pieces from time to time. My dearly beloved neighborhood thrift store has closed and I really enjoy shopping second hand, I've always felt it's the perfect combo to my otherwise often expensive taste in things and it's just good for the environment. This store is by no stretch of the imagination thrifting but it scratches that itch in a small way for me. If you're patient enough, you'll often be able to find some cute items. I purchased a super cute Alice + Olivia dress and a comfy pair of AGOLDE cut off denim shorts. I don't typically wear AGOLDE denim but these are the perfect little toss on shorts for the summer, I usually wear a 25 but the 25 had lots of room on me so I'm guessing this is one of those brands where the sizing is a bit off- nonetheless, tried on a bunch of really cute dresses; House of Harlow, NBD, Valentino - all very nice quality for resale at a fair price. I even spotted some super cute sunnies in the case on my way out. You can also sell items here! I'm not into selling my clothes, I just donate them but if anyone else who is a size XS feels like selling some really cute stuff that fits me like a glove, I'd greatly appreciate it. Come with a lot of patience! This place is an absolute mess however a beautiful mess everything is one of a kind and I did not see one item that had a duplicate next to it so I imagine shopping hundreds of racks with nothing that looks the same it's almost like a lottery just so happening to grab a shirt in your size matching the price range of what you find reasonable! Throughout the racks of shirts I found shirts from $12-$200 from low-end designers to high-end designers such as Michael Kors! And the used shoe area I found not only brand new shoes as well as gently too heavily used shoes from high-end designers that normally retail from about $1500 being sold for about 150. There are good deals to be found here but you need to have the patience and the time to seek throughout it all I just didn't have the time I will be back with some of girlfriends to score on some great deals as my guy friend wasn't into the store much. All and all there are great deals to be found here!!! I'll be back! read more

This was my 1st time here at this Wasteland in Studio City. I use to buy and sell clothes at the Wasteland location in San Francisco like 30 years ago when it was a real underground clothing store. I bought my 1st goth clothes at Wasteland back in the 1990s but looks like things have changed in 2023. I can't knock them for new policy and new changes. I understand. It sucks to see how much this place has changed, and after what I saw a couple months back, I won't be going back any time soon. I usually go to see their shoe selection because before I've gotten some pretty good finds of Adidas and Nike's, but recently it's just been a collection of fancy converse collecting dust and a splattering of designer shoes that get circulated from outside the case to inside if they aren't doing well. What really put the nail in the coffin for Wasteland for me however was when I saw this pair of "Off Whites." I have seen Off-Whites pass through Wasteland every now and then, so I decided to check this pair. I attached what the actual off white looks like as pictured form StockX, and what was in store. Not only was the print coming off, but the converse logo wasn't even in the correct place. For a consignment store that prides in its buyers knowing the latest trends and styles in designer, it is an absolute disgrace that a pair of genuinely fake off whites even made it to the glass case, and further confirms that the buyers at this particular Wasteland are simply hype hungry designer chasers who will fall for anything with a Gucci logo or an Off White paragraph, even if it isn't real. On top of that, marking all designs from a specific brand as the same price makes zero sense, and also devalues their collections because people start to expect that the designer slide should be the same price as the designer boot. These guys seriously should work on putting their pretentious attitudes into better endeavors, like confirming all their supposed "designer" inventory even is authentic or just a well made Chinatown bootleg. read more

Hold on, kids, this is a long one... I've been going to various Wasteland locations since I was a teenager (over a decade), and this one is now my favorite since the Santa Monica location closed. Admittedly, the racks seem a little thin in terms of the amount of items on them, but I'll chalk this up to the pandemic. If people aren't coming in to sell decent stuff, there isn't much the buyers can do about it. That's my feeling, anyway. That said, I still manage to always find something here. Recently, I came into the store to finish putting together a look for a night out with the dolls in drag for the first time back after the pandemic. An amazing vintage leather and ripstop jacket with "DRAG RACE" on the back immediately caught my eye. "This--THIS--is for me," I thought. I tried it on, it was perfect... and then some random (male) employee behind the counter sniggered under his breath "God, who buys leather in the summer?" as I walked away after putting the jacket on hold. I wanted to turn around and say "Leather fetishists like me, you dolt. And if you know anything about retail, which you presumably do, this jacket would be marked up more had it come in during the winter months." I restrained myself. HOWEVER, after that awkward encounter, I returned a few hours later after a meeting over coffee with a friend, to get the jacket and try to scrounge up a shirt to go with it. I'd decided to go for this kind of "poking fun at Americana and actual drag racing" denim look, and when I saw that there was another non-binary/genderqueer human at the counter, I made a beeline for them. I believe their name is Patrick. As I've come more and more into my open queerness, I tend to seek out employees who are similarly genderqueer and might better understand my point of view. Rather than directing me back to the women's section, we headed over to men's and looked at some cool Western shirts that were sadly all way too big for me and would need serious alterations. They then helped me find a cool, motocross-related men's T that had been cut into a crop top. They even asked about my pronouns and preemptively apologized for possibly mis-gendering me. I deeply, deeply appreciated even the fact that they asked, since I've been struggling with my pronoun situation for awhile, and since I don't bind my chest, I continually get female-pronouned even with my hair up in a baseball cap, a minimizing bra, and a packer in my jeans. Patrick (I really hope I got their name right--I asked when I went back a week later to browse and they weren't there, so had to ask another employee) was really amazing. It's rare I feel "seen," often even by other queer folks. Thanks for making my shopping experience fun, comfortable, and highly genderfluid. It meant the world to me. The store gets 3.5 stars for being pretty limited to small sizes on the women's side (the store is split in half by gender, like many), but Patrick gets 5 stars! read more

This is a highly curated resale shop. They take high-end, expensive, designer items and resell them. So you can resell your nifty designer dad's here if you're done with them. I have Sounds and amazing things with tags on them. They have colors and styles for everybody. From shoes to coats, jackets, pants and they have a great men's section as well. Do you wish you could go shopping in Guantanamo Bay? Come on down to Wasteland Studio City, where both your eardrums, and your soul can be assaulted simultaneously by the skull shatteringly loud music describing degrading scenarios you'd have happily died never learning about. Sure it's a public space, open during daylight hours that sells secondhand clothing, but leave the kids at home my dears! This secondhand store is XXX rated and has been doing this for YEARS (look through the other reviews including the word "music", dating back to 2012). And they ain't changing. When I wrote to corporate, I was told that I should "ask them to turn it down" and that there's no way I could've heard "WAP" playing in there because it's not a part of their "official playlist". It's legitimately the only time I have ever heard that song, and it was against my will. So I guess I'm the Manager of Wasteland Studio City now. I'm being asked to do their work for them. If you have any moral compass at all, do not shop here. read more

This store has a decent selection of items for both men and women. However, a lot of the prices here seemed inflated. If you want high end designer items, you can check out this place and find them for a fraction of the cost. There's a lot of YSL, Gucci, and CDG here being sold for a decent price. However, I found there were several items that were being sold at the same price as retail. There were a pair of adidas Stan smith shoes with scuff marks being sold for $70 which is just under retail. I'm addition, I found some Brandy Melville tops that were also being sold at $20-$25 a piece. There were some cute items here, but I would rather go to a different shop for shopping items that are just as good as the ones here (excluding high end designer pieces). read more
