You can tell the owner takes pride in the hotel. There a little touches that make a difference; wine cork opener, new carpeting, upscale soaps, very good breakfast, cookies individually wrapped, etc. Mr. G at the desk was very professional and helpful. Our water line was blocked at our cabin near Ashton, Idaho, and we had tickets for Tarzan at the Playmill so we got two rooms here for our group of seven. Great rooms that were clean, comfortable and updated. Each had a tv/microwave/fridge and freezer/coffee maker/hair dryer, etc. I was happy to have a tub. Lots of towels so we didn't have to ask for more during our short stay. Comfy bed and pillows. The blackout curtains helped. The air conditioner worked well. Free wifi. Quality shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soaps. They have a full complimentary breakfast with hot and cold cereals and drinks, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, breads and bagels. They also have clothes washers and dryers, food and drink vending machines and ice machines. We didn't use the pool or hot tub. Plenty of parking near our rooms. read more

The man on the night shift was very nice and professional when we arrived about 11:00 p.m., after our booking.com lodging had been accidentally canceled by booking.com without a text/call notification! Even though the Inn was sold out, he offered us their Very Nice $$$ Apartment #2 behind the Inn. It was very cute, clean, and spacious! The two beds were both pretty comfortable and we had a wonderful breakfast buffet at the Inn! I highly recommend this downstairs apartment! Also, I will never forget the kindness of this dear Asian gentleman (whose name I totally forgot ) -- when I was having difficulty walking from the front desk to my car, he graciously offered to help me and he then offered me a cane, too! If only everybody could be so kind! I really appreciated his thoughtfulness! Jackie, the front desk lady on the morning shift, was very friendly, professional, and eager to assist us in finding lodging nearby, since they were sold out. Jackie really went beyond her regular duties to assist me - since she was not busy at the moment - in trying to find a local establishment that had a vacancy. She was very proficient and was the epitome of good hospitality! Every hospitality employee should emulate both of their excellent behaviors of providing friendly and excellent service! A pleasant surprise on our week long Yellowstone vacation. The good: everything in west Yellowstone is expensive, but comparatively speaking, this inn was a decent price. The customer service was excellent. Gonsalo cleaned and replenished our room daily, as a standard service. Nowadays you need to specifically ask for maid service, so this was a welcome surprise. The breakfast was complementary and plentiful. The ladies serviced the food keeping it well stocked for the morning rush. Location, location, location. Within a 2 minute drive to the west entrance. We stayed at 3 hotels on our recent trip across 3 states, and this one had the best indoor pool of the 3. Washer/dryers available, a must for families. Comfortable beds and easy access. The "so so" but not deal breakers: there were a few things that needed some attention. The bathroom door lock would stick and not lock. SLOW WiFi, but we found it much better and easier to just use our unlimited cell data plans. Traveled with 5 people and no sleeper sofa, ordered the extra bed/cot for additional charge of $15/day. Son said it was better than the 2 other sleeper sofas from the trip. The positives far outweigh the "so -so", would definitely stay here again and recommend it. read more

There are not too many hotel options in West Yellowstone. I thought selecting a hotel chain would set minimum standards, but felt this one was like a cheap motel (even though it was $300/night). 1 star off: Several things were broken or not working. The WiFi only worked for 1 night out of the 4 nights I stayed here, and it was extremely slow. I gave up on the WiFi. The hair drier only works for about 10 minutes, after which it would just automatically shut off. I talked to the front office about it and was told I need to reset it. I did, and it still had the same problem. 1 star off: There is no room service, even more essential items. For example, when I needed an extra towel or extra shampoo, I was told I need to pick it up from the front office myself. I don't mind this, but just added a small level of inconvenience. COVID notes: Staff does not consistently wear masks. One person wore is around his neck...might as well not even try... read more

Nice rooms, friendly staff, we especially appreciate the gentleman working this morning (I forgot to ask his name, French accent I believe). He was very kind, patient with all our questions, provided great details about places to check out near Old Faithful. The free breakfast has a lot of the same things you'd find at many other places (better cereal options), but the quality is much better than most we've experienced. Great place to stay! We were allowed to check in early without issue, and the rooms were clean and spacious. We had a single King bed for $189 a night, very affordable for the area. The soaps provided were from Bath and Body Works, so I was very impressed. More than anything, what made this hotel worth it was the breakfast. Huge selection including scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, grapefruit and more! A great hearty breakfast for anyone about to spend a full day in the park. We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The location is about five minutes from the west entrance of Yellowstone. You cannot beat that location! There are a lot of local restaurants in the area, so try something new and avoid the chains. It is a very walk-able location that is also close to the main street that has a lot of shops. The front desk has a local map and they are happy to make suggestions. The rooms are very comfortable and a good size. The hotel is dog friendly*, a huge plus, and they are fairly quiet. There is a park across the street that you can walk your dog around and it has a playground for kids. The breakfast is a standard continental breakfast (eggs, cereal, juice, waffles, bacon, etc.) and the morning staff is very polite and keeps it well stocked. *Call when you make the reservation because it is my understanding that not every room is dog friendly, so you'll want to be sure they have a dog friendly room available. read more

Due to few options we were able to book here. We were pleasantly surprised. It's older but our room was newly renovated. Beds were comfy, nice high grade carpet, nice tv with direct tv. Pool is heated and hot tub. Great breakfast with lots of options. Did I mention it was clean! Very clean. One employee seemed like their only job was to clean the buffet area. Loved the area around the hotel where we walked to shops and restaurants each night. The WIFI is available but it's slow. Would stay again for sure. read more

I'll start off with our room: clean, comfortable, well equipped, (would have preferred a table) updated furnishings. The lamps have a warm soft white bulb. The lights over the sink have retina-burning bright blue-white bulbs. Not sure why the mix match. In my home I have my sheer curtain liners between my window and blackout curtains. It is reversed in this room. Not sure why. The complimentary breakfast is full of options and pretty good. I liked the flavor of the larger sausages over the smaller Jimmy dean style. They seem to alternate from day to day. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy, coffee and yogurt. However, we were kicked out on day one because my little boy had a cough! I guess everyone is still paranoid. No, he didn't have covid. Still doesn't. Subsequent meals I brought the food to the room where we shared a small end table to eat at. -again the room needs a real table. The pool was nice but every day seemed to get colder. Eventually, a repairman stated he had been working several hours to figure out the heater situation. He eventually figured it out and fixed it the day we left. The hot tub is okay but the smokers who congregate just outside fumigate the spa area despite closed windows. Finally I must mention housekeeping. They were amazing, friendly, very efficient and hard working. I think overall I'd leave 3 & 1/2 stars but I'm going to round up simply due to the exceptional housekeeping staff. read more

What hotel charges $200/night for a room WITHOUT A TOILET? Allow me to explain how this hotel singlehandedly ruined our family vacation. We checked in to our room, and realized that our toilet was not working. Called the front desk, and a girl answered very rudely, saying that we had to try to fix it ourselves. After more pleading, she hurriedly told us that someone would come up in 10 minutes to take a look. 30 minutes pass, so we give the front desk another call. After a few tries, we realized that they were SCREENING their calls and PURPOSELY ignoring us, and that they had no intention of even taking a look. After getting in touch with the front desk via cell phone, a guy answers the front desk pathetically tells us that we could use the toilet in the office. We checked the office the next morning. Nope, no toilet here, folks. After about THREE HOURS of pleading to the front desk, and calling corporate, someone finally came to take a look. They refused to give us any discount/ voucher also. I'm not a stickler about "customer service" nor do I unreasonably expect to be treated like a king at a motel. However, I do expect some shred of honesty in business and, at the very least, a properly functioning toilet. I do not think that I should have to beg for THREE hours to various people to have my basic amenities. Finally, I do not appreciate being lied to on numerous occasions, and do not believe that this hotel deserves anybody's business in the way that they treated us. Some part of me believes that there's something legally questionable about advertising a room with the very basics, and not providing it. Or even renting out a room without properly functioning indoor plumbing. But I digress. Take your business elsewhere. We couldn't even fully enjoy the next day in the park because of how horribly we were treated. Spend the extra few bucks and save your vacation by booking elsewhere. Your loved ones will appreciate it. read more

I was very pleased with my stay. The rooms are nothing over the top. This is a basic Best Western. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating. The room was VERY reasonable and included free breakfast. We arrived during a snowstorm and didn't have reservations. The lady at the front desk immediately handed me the house phone and gave me the number to the hotel that I did have reservations at the at that night and assisted me with the cancellation. She went further to assist me with some other matters and was simply brilliant with the quality of customer service that she provided. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone who is in the area and looking for basic accommodations. read more

We were here for 3 nights last week (August, 2011). The room was clean and comfortable. Their breakfast was just like others...only some basics. Their wifi sometimes had some congestions. This place should not be considered part of Best Western. It tarnishes Best Western's reputation as a comfortable, clean, and affordable motel/inn. This is the worse waste of money for a room, I have ever made, and I have spent hundreds of nights in motels, inns and hotels throughout the world. The driveway to the lobby for check-in customers were blocked by patio tables, chairs, and heaters. I suspect it is for the convenience of the staff and a foreshadowing warning as to the state of this "Bates Motel", creepy, unkempt, stinky place, that should be a movie set for a horror movie. It was a prelude of a welcome that two bone-weary travelers did not need. The staff was busy chatting with her daughter, while checking us in. It felt as if the lobby was her living room and we were a trespassers that she was obligated to talk to. The clerk/manager looked like she needed a bath...a week ago. Her hair looked unkempt and her clothes were casual, like in the "Big Lewbowski" movie, old, faded, and tired. The lobby had a air freshener scent of armpit sweat, old grime, and settled dust. The transaction took less than 10 minutes, but we were happy to take leave of this grim-faced woman. I'm almost sure she feels the same way about us trespassers. We were tired and we had already paid for the room, which was $170. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, if only we can sleep in our car, but it was stuffed full with luggage. Oh dear...and we haven't even gotten to our rooms yet. As we approached the stairs to our room on the second floor, an Asian man kept popping out of his front door, peering out like he's waiting his hooker to show up. Sorry buddy, we're not into you or your girlfriend. Body stiff and aching, we trudged up the stairs with all our luggage, leaving the car looking empty and saying to possible car thieves, "Nothing to steal folks. Move along." As we opened up the room, it was like opening up a coffin. We were hoping that the decay is not fresh and putrid. We were mistaken. Uncle Fester wore this cologne on his date. Need I describe it? Okay, I will. As the door opened, the air from within the room wooshed out. This air carried the scent of wreak with it. As we entered, it felt as if we were gassed with smelly socks and sweaty old underwear. One smell that this place lacked was any disinfectant smell, but the room looked clean and the floor didn't large visible stains. Perhaps cost-saving measures were implemented. My eyes almost teared up, with the fantasy of finding another place, probably spending $200 to $400 for another place as well as from the stench. "It's just for one night," I repeated my mantra to us throughout the evening. We didn't sleep the night away. How could we? The beds were hard, lumpy, and uncomfortable. The pillows were wimpy and soggy, more like gigantic wheaties, more fitting as an indigestible and tasteless cereal than a pillow. Every time I woke up, I swore to myself that I would rather sleep in sleeping back, in a graveyard before I spend another night at the real life Bates Motel. read more

Perfect place to stay while visiting Yellowstone park. I booked a room with two double beds and asked if they had a rollaway bed because I was traveling with my elderly father and two teenage boys. The front desk manager John not only put us in a roomy apartment with full facilities, but did not charge us any extra. We had two bedrooms and each room had it's own rollaway bed as well as the couch in the living room which folded out into a bed. Would definitely stay here again in the future and highly recommend it. read more

This is one of the bigger hotels in the area. We were a group of 6 people and had booked 3 rooms for 4 nights. Everyone was pleased with the room and service. Rooms were clean and big. Enough parking space available. The free breakfast was basic and quite sufficient. The location is perfect. Just a couple of miles from the park entrance. Also very close to the restaurants and general grocery stores. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. One day the connection was slow and I had to finish some work. I went to the front desk and the staff was kind enough to lend me their ethernet cable. I would recomment this place to anyone who is looking for basic accomodations in the area. read more

never ever stay in this hotel. we paid almost a $150 per night and were put in a room right next to either a water pump or some sort of a facility and every time anybody flushed the toilet or took a shower or turned on the tap, made such a loud noise and kept us awake throughout the night. Not the kind of room that you would want to come to for a good night's rest!!! Management did not oblige for our request to move to a different room. My wife and I checked into this hotel not knowing what to expect. We were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating clerk then surprised to meet the owner John actually a hands on owner (WOW). John and my wife and I spoke for awhile although we could not get an early check in we received an upgraded room Thank you John. John had given us helpful advice for our trip through Yellowstone Park 1/2 mile away as well as dining in the area (all you want and need is within a mile). We had inquired about a good breakfast location and John said try our complimentary breakfast well the next morning we did. I must say we have never had a complimentary breakfast come to a close second. Just to mention a few items scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes as well as usual foods. All the staff we encountered are very courteous and helpful. We originally booked a room in Moran and we are glad we cancelled and stayed here. read more

We recently spent 2 nights at Crosswinds. We had 3 rooms for family. The desk clerk was very friendly and made sure that we had all three rooms adjoining. We needed the wheelchair accessible room, and it was very nice. We appreciated the roll in shower. My grandkids loved the pool (the only downer was the hot tub wasn't working). Breakfast was regular motel breakfast and pretty crowded, but filling. The best part, that will have me coming back is the customer service. The day we left, my granddaughter misplaced her much loved bison. We looked at all the gift shops, and weren't able to find a replacement. A few days later, Anna called from Crosswinds. They found Josie's bison behind the bed and she offered to send it to her. It came today. Not only did the bison come, but a lovely letter and a little bear so the bison wouldn't get lonely on the trip. Josie is thrilled and I am so thankful to Anna and the Crosswinds Inn for caring about my granddaughter. read more
