I've gone past this place quite often so I decided to try them out. What I like about this place is the full glass front which makes the place nice and bright. It's clean, they have tables for you to sit and have your meal. The menu is pretty extensive for takeout. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice. Good food great customer service. If you go in the morning it's not busy but the afternoon and evenings there's a wait. This is the only chicken place the I can just buy wings and the price isn't bad. The parking is bad sometimes you have to circle the block a couple of times before you can find a spot and people double park but I still give a 5 star rating. read more

This Merrick location has the Best fried chicken and fried whiting around. The fried whiting and shrimp combo is juicy, succulent, and seasoned to perfection. Very nice, helpful staff for a first time visitor to Crown Fried Chicken. The breading flavor is great, very crunchy but Soo Soo dry chicken. I bet it's awesome when the chicken is moist. But I guess it's the luck of the draw for when you go in and how long the chicken has been sitting there. I would love to try a freshly cooked piece! As someone said prior, it's cool to come here if it's late & your craving something. I ordered from here via UberEats & had the chicken sandwich & fries. It's odd that they use a oval shape chicken patty for a round sandwich. I've been to other Crown Fried Chicken locations in the past & it's always been a round patty since the bun is round. I have been to many locations throughout the city of New York. However, the one that is closest to me is near the Jamaica Station location in Queens. This is the one that I am giving my remarks regarding. Most times I have come to this location very early in the morning after getting off work. The staff is very nice here. Not overly service driven but efficient. The location could use a little elbow grease in terms of cleanliness. This is a fast food type restaurant so I did not expect too much from the food. The chicken that I taste it was a bit salty but not unbearable. I have not experienced any other crown locations within Queens but I would say if you were in this area near Jamaica Station and wanted to get some chicken, this is a viable option. Ok, I can't believe I'm actually reviewing a Crown Fried Chicken, but this place deserves it! As a suburban girl, I'd never really eaten Crown's chicken, but one of my college chicas is from Laurelton, and she always gets it. Well, let's just say that when I go visit (which usually rounds out to about twice a year), stopping at this Crown location is a must! The chicken is tasty and fried perfectly, AND the staff is always friendly. I was hoping that this was the case for Crowns all over, but of the others I've visited, none compare to this location...they aren't even close. Their chicken is the only chicken I trust from crown. Crispy, fresh & hot! The workers here are super friendly & funny. Often times they even remember my order lol (which I'm not to proud of! Ha!) Went to this location because of the reviews here on Yelp. I arrived around 11pm on a Saturday night. They were fairly busy and continued to get busier. The "new" guy at the register had on baseball cap, some sort of hair covering, ok..... However the two food handlers behind who were in full contact with food DID NOT HAVE GLOVES, HAIR NETS, or BEARD NETS on. When I inquired as to why this was none of them had an answer or seemed to care, even rude about it. They have an A on the wall from the health department from February 2016, but I think they need to revisit the health codes in order to maintain grade. I will not be returning. I would give no stars but can't post without at least one. read more
