I was in a month or so ago and grabbed a case of beer. It was priced at $ 13.99 but when the female clerk rang it up it was priced $ 2.50 over the advertised price that was clearly displayed by the tall, stacked cases of beer, and on a sign attached to one of the beer cases.
I politely protested to her, and stated the price they were advertising should be honored regardless of it being entered in their P.O.S. to the contrary. A young male clerk that was to my left at another P.O.S. assisting another customer, chimed in, rather loud and rudely, that if that was the price, " that was the price " regardless of an obvious sign stating otherwise ! I again tried to politely protest but was greeted by the male clerk with a loud slamming of his left hand. Which he had done to very rudely call my attention to a printed note on the counter that read basically " We are not responsible for our own mistakes, regardless of a legitimate sign or advertisement that otherwise states a different price for any product !
We, the clerks , can't change or honor the advertised price because " corporate, or the main office changes the prices via computer and does not inform us, or other stores, of said changes. So we basically won't honor a clearly advertised price, will also be a complete rude and incompetent ass and don't really care about you or your business, period ! !
After a few more heated words, from myself as well, I requested the managers name.
The reply was that he was not here right now . I eventually got the managers name ( Paul )
and contacted him a day or so later. In so many words he more or less said " That's just the way it is, and I can't do anything about it !
Same deal happens two more times at two different Crown stores ( minus the rude dick ) with the same lame excuse, we don't, or can't do anything about it ! !
I contacted a Mr. Moore, who stated he was a area or district type manager, and he stated it would be easier for me to go to his E-mail address and send a letter to the regard of my compliant . I did not send a letter or message to his e-mail.
I figured a company that posts disclaimers because they can't manage their business and employs people the can't , or won't , honor a posted price and allows its employees to be rude and unsympathetic, will most likely not give a rats ass about some customer that expects the age old tradition of honoring a posted or advertised price granted.
Thank you Crown liquors for your
unprofessional and uncaring actions.
