Our stay at @crownplazacostamesa was contemporary comfort at its best! Perfectly located just 2.5 miles from John Wayne Airport and steps from South Coast Plaza, California's premier luxury shopping destination. The hotel was clean, welcoming, and made check-in and check-out so easy. The staff provided amazing service from start to finish. Pro tip: Don't miss Fireside Tavern for their full breakfast options, so good! Thank you @TravelCostaMesa & @crownplazacostamesa for the giveaway and one-night stay! We loved it so much, we added another night thanks to the super convenient location.

When I checked in, i was told my room was great, it had a fantastic view of the ocean. I guess this kind of is the ocean.

Convenient location, easy access. Nice hotel room and staff. I spent one night using my IHG credit card free night. The room was comfortable, but I found the pillows generally uncomfortable. I was told I had an ocean view room by the front desk. It was not, but that wasn't important to me. I had booked a king room, and i wasn't concerned with the view. Breakfast was decent. I would stay here again.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa for one night for a work event the next morning. The gentleman working the front desk (Alexander?) was welcoming and very kind. We bonded over our Filipino-ness. The king room was spacious and very clean. Lots of work space. The bathroom had lots of countertop space and clean smelling bath products. The shower head was a bit confusing at first to get the water temperature just right. The king bed was comfy and I'm glad hotels like this one use supportive pillows that are proportionate to the size of the bed--not those weird soggy squares that provide zero neck support. The hotel is also within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants. I'll stay here again the next time I'm in the area for a work event.

I arrived earlier than expected and was thankful that I was able to check into my room right away. The process was fast and straightforward, and the staff members were welcoming. The hotel has been updated to some extent with a refresh, but it still shows signs of wear and could benefit from a good overhaul to really make it stand out. The lobby was inviting, and I was surprised by the amenities the property had to offer. The Fireside Restaurant/Bar, located just off the lobby, is very inviting and has plenty of decor for all my social media creators. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are located outside, and the area has high potential. Overall, I'd rate my stay a 3.5. The room was on point and comfortable & the service from the front desk was great. I'm leaning toward 4 stars because of the exceptional customer service, the hotel's convenient location for my needs, and the bar/restaurant (when open). However, the much-needed refresh-refresh... yes, I said it twice--keeps it at a 3. I used Ride share so didn't have to park, but it's ~$30/night so consider that when choosing this place.

Read the reviews. Poor quality, sub par hotel. Management non-existent. Failure to follow up after a complaint regarding filthy, unchanged bed sheets stained with human blood and bodily fluids.

This is the hotel that I stayed at for my last work trip. When I entered the hotel I was greeted by staff. The hotel has plenty of parking and the rooms are very clean. The bed is soft and the floor I was on was very quiet. My stay was great and the help staff was great.

Exceptional Service from Alexander at the Front Desk! From the moment I walked into the Crowne Plaza, Alexander made me feel like more than just a guest--he made me feel valued. In a world where great service is becoming rare, Alexander stands out like a gem. His professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail turned a simple check-in into a genuinely welcoming experience. Whether it was answering questions with patience, offering helpful suggestions, or just greeting me with sincere kindness, he went above and beyond. It's clear he takes pride in what he does, and it truly elevated my entire stay. Crowne Plaza is lucky to have someone like Alexander representing them. He's the kind of person who reminds you that true hospitality still exists. If you're staying here, trust me--Alexander is someone who will make your visit feel like home.

    - atrocious tipping practice at breakfast - For whoever complained about lack of complimentary breakfast here...you actually had a better time not needing to deal with this atrocious tipping behavior. Plus the price sucks.. you are paying $14.99 for continental breakfast, and $10 extra for scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, pancake, and potatoes. Totally not worth. There are tons of good restaurants close by.. Let's say I liked my stay here: the room was clean, the fitness center had everything I needed, and the hotel was old but fine. However, they have a super horrible tipping practice at breakfast. It's interesting how I've already paid for breakfast online, but I still have to tip for some service that doesn't exist. Upon entering their restaurant for breakfast, I gave them the vouchers and the server (an older Mexican guy) asked what drinks we wanted. Then we grabbed a seat and that was it. He didn't come back again or refill our drink or whatever. Later I found out you could also grab your own drink. Then he came back with a bill stating two vouchers used and no charges, but I have to leave a tip. I tipped them $5 for the imaginary service in cash. The next day, the same guy didn't look so happy to see me. He told us to just sit anywhere in a rude tone. Later he came back after I grabbed my drink, so we told him we were good. Then he randomly grabbed some chairs and told us to sit there like he's serving us, but that wasn't the case since I didn't want to sit there. We sat there regardless. His tone during the whole conversation was rude and aggressive. It was super uncomfortable for us. Again, they gave me the bill. Unlike last time, they calculated the tax this time, and included the suggested tip amount starting with 18%. No way in hell I will tip that much for this fucked up service and aggressive tone. Again I tipped $5 cash and left. I didn't eat breakfast there for the 3rd day even though I paid for it online. I'd be much happier not seeing that Mexican guy giving me attitude just because I don't want to tip him for something he doesn't deserve. I honestly think this hotel needs to change the whole breakfast process to include one-time paper trays and just let people enjoy their breakfast at ease. On the other hand, the first gentleman that helped me at check in was super nice. I believe it's Alexander in other reviews. I think this hotel will be a better place if they give Alexander a raise and remove the other guy. Btw the AC here is super old so it's super loud. It kept me up the first night as it was on and off for some reason. Pro tip: don't eat breakfast here. It's not worth paying for. McDonald's is right next to the hotel.. they also smile at you instead of giving you attitude. Pro tip 2: don't come here if you rent a car. They charge $30/night for uncovered parking. I've seen security here on the first night but that's it. I'm not sure if they actually do anything...

Will definitely be back!! It's super convenient for shopping and good food!! We came to the Louis Vuitton & downtown Disney!!

My husband booked me a room for a few nights as a staycation for me to unwind and have some solo time. After being dropped off, I entered the hotel lobby and was immediately greeted by Javier at the front desk who checked me in and ensured I had everything I needed for a peaceful stay. He even gifted me with a free drink voucher which was kind. I was on the fourth floor with a room that overlooked the pool. My room was spacious, clean, and exactly what I was looking for during my time away from home. The bed was comfortable and the sheets soft. I loved that the room had plenty of space to spread out, including a desk to work on. The bathroom was also spacious with a large vanity and shower that had a nice rain shower head. The water pressure was great and the temperature got hot which I loved so much on these chilly days. Every time I walked past the front desk I was greeted with a polite smile and welcome from staff. It was a great feeling! I definitely recommend this hotel for any need whether it's a staycation, work event, or travel. Restaurant: I came in for dinner Friday night. Seating was open so I chose a high top table across from the bar. Beto greeted me and wiped down my table. After giving me a few minutes to look at the menu he returned to take my order. I was between the nachos and tacos and he said both were great. I opted for the nachos with chicken. They arrived quickly and were ok. Not the best nachos I've ever had, but also not the worst. Beto did a great job checking on me and ensured I had everything I needed. He was very friendly and thanked me for dining. I definitely recommend stopping by the bar for a Beto beverage and warm welcome if you are staying here. Breakfast: I came back Saturday morning for breakfast and was welcomed by Adriana who had a sweet smile. She sat me and took my drink order. Roberto delivered my drinks and took my breakfast order. I arrived around 10:30 so the initial breakfast rush was over. I ordered avocado toast and a side of eggs. Both were excellent. The avocado toast was served on a sourdough baguette with sliced cherry tomatoes and everything but the bagel seasoning on top. It was yummy!! Roberto was closing the bar down but didn't make me feel rushed at all. He even brought me a cup with fresh hot water to take with me when I was ready to leave. Adriana also stopped by to make sure everything was going well. Excellent friendly service again!!! Great work team! Javier helped me extend my stay another night. He is efficient and very welcoming. Snacks in lobby with a pay yourself station. I recommend bringing your own water/snacks in. One bottle of water was 7.00 ouch!

Check-in was disorganized. The front-desk employee charged our credit card for the wrong room and told us not to worry because the charge would be removed within three to five business days. That was not an acceptable resolution. Our room had several problems: it smelled unpleasant, the air conditioner made a loud screeching noise throughout the night, and the refrigerator did not work. We were provided only one set of bath linens. When I called to request another set, we received two bath towels that appeared to have melted plastic on them. Equally disappointing was the service. When we contacted the office about these concerns, we were not treated courteously, and no one apologized for the errors. At checkout, no one asked about our stay or offered an opportunity to address the problems. I later contacted Wyndham and was told that, because this location is a franchise, there was nothing they could do. I am extremely disappointed by both the hotel's response and Wyndham's lack of support. This experience has caused me to reconsider staying at Wyndham properties in the future.

While the other upscale hotels were nice, this hotel was very classy. To begin with they are extremely handicapped friendly. They have double doors and those buttons you can push that automatically opens the doors for you if you're in a wheelchair they also have ADA rooms with these door openers and the pool has a elevator since it is at the bottom of the stairway to make Wheelchair access possible. I am seriously impressed by how ADA Friendly they are. The building was very charming. First thing I saw when I walked in was a big large grand fireplace and Stone floors and big Oriental vases and the place had an old world hotel feeling.. It is very charming and full of character. The rooms were extremely comfortable and have very nice classy furniture. The curtains were very nice. The bed was amazingly comfortable and clean. My only criticism was my first day there It did smell a little bit old like they could use a good spring cleaning , but the next day it didn't smell like that anymore. And their staff they are first class. While other hotels made me feel resented for requesting assistance, Ayres staff were very classy and beyond accommodating and they made me feel so welcome and they all generally had very good energy and attitudes. This whole experience felt like I was stepping into the grand Budapest hotel(the movie) just a little bit. That's what it made me think of. I also heard that the owner has breakfast there every morning. I especially want to recognize the staff and thank them for making the experience so welcoming and accommodating for me especially since I am in a wheelchair and i unfortunately am not treated so well in other places.

Delish mashed potatoes and fish was good, maybe a little more salt needed for me on the dish overall. Happy with it though. Was about $24-$26. If you're visiting and an artsy person, I recommend stopping by the anti-mall just about 8 min drive nearby, pretty cute and a fun visit.

When Spring Break calls…read more.... You certainly don't ignore it. You definitely don't reject it. And if you just happen to miss the call... You most certainly better call it back! My advice: Just pick up the phone. Well on April 7th, 2026 Spring Break hit me up and told me that Spring Break was definitely on and Huntington Beach was the place to be. Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa enters the chat. ------------------------------------- Being that it was Spring break for the kids, we wanted to give them some much needed rest from school and what better way than a little fun in the sun poolside. So we put our earned Hyatt points to work and took a 3 day escape to H.B. The Parking Sitch: Of course we did our research on the hotel prior to our trip and saw that valet parking was $60 per night!! So my wife did some further research and saw that the Hyatt contracts with the H.B. Beach parking lot which is offsite and is located directly across from the resort for a lesser overnight fee (please note that it is a bit of a walk, so I highly recommended dropping the luggage and your family at the front entrance prior to making your way to the beach parking lot). There is a bridge that connects from the beach parking lot right to the hotel property. The lay of the land: This is a resort style hotel so the place is huge and it literally takes up a whole city block. Of course, there are resort style pools, hot tubs, restaurants, a spa and other resort amenities to make your getaway enjoyable. Things to do: When you are not soaking up the sun poolside or taking a dip into the pool, there are many walkable places down PCH with local eateries, shops and of course the beach! The stay: The rooms were decent, nothing special, but also nothing bad to report. The property itself is very large, we spent most of our time at the pool or chillen in our room. Overall, it was a nice getaway and we always enjoy our stay with Hyatt. So.... What's the plan for Spring Break 2027!?
