    Burnt lukewarm bacon
    Terry V.

My wife and I dined at Crozet Crepe Company twice over the past few weeks, hoping for a pleasant local breakfast experience. Unfortunately, both visits left us disappointed. During our first visit, I ordered eggs, grits, bacon, and toast. While the food had potential, the bacon and toast arrived cold. I didn't make a fuss at the time and waited until the end of the meal to politely mention it to the waitress. To their credit, they were kind and removed the bacon and toast from the bill. We decided to give the place a second chance and returned this morning, hoping for improvement. Sadly, the same issues persisted. Once again, both the bacon and toast were cold. I let the waitress know immediately, and she kindly offered to replace the bacon. I asked for the entire plate to be freshly prepared so the eggs and grits wouldn't go cold while waiting. When the new plates arrived, the bacon was no longer cold, but it was only lukewarm and far from freshly cooked. I had requested crispy bacon and instead received pieces that were charred to the point of being inedible. Both of our eggs were also cooked incorrectly. My over-easy eggs were over-medium, and my wife's over-medium eggs were fried hard. Even the toast came back lukewarm again. To be fair, the grits were excellent, but that was the only highlight. What surprised us most was that after sending back nearly thirty dollars worth of food, no manager came by to apologize or check in. The restaurant was almost empty, so there was no obvious reason not to acknowledge the situation. Places like Waffle House consistently serve hot, made-to-order breakfasts with sizzling bacon and properly cooked eggs at a lower price point. Unfortunately, Crozet Crepe Company offered the exact opposite experience, twice. We gave this restaurant two chances. We will not be giving it a third.

A New Crozet Staple Has Arrived Crozet has had its fair share of one-year restaurants. One spot in particular has been the restaurant location on Four Leaf Ln. From sports bars, to Italian food, to Mexican restaurants, this spot has seen more turnover than a bakery. Well, ladies and gentlemen, that's all about to change. Crozet Crepery is warm and inviting from the moment you step through the door. The decor is simple, yet elegant. Its wide open spaces are perfect for large crowds. It's not even been two weeks, and the crowds are already showing up! We sat outside, and were very comfortable on the patio with the other guests and their dogs. We ordered two sweet crepes. Not even 8 minutes passed and the crepes were out of the kitchen! They were, in a word, fantastic. Each piece on my fork held every layer together perfectly. There was variety in flavor, heat, and texture in both crepes and every bite. We cannot wait to return. Heads up, Crozet! This place isn't going anywhere.

I absolutely love this place! A great variety of options on the menu and they offer gluten free crepes for only a dollar extra! The breakfast potatoes are amazing and definitely worth adding on. Service is always fast.

My review may be considered biased considering I'm a server here BUT...I must!! Everything I have tasted is incredible. I have more favorites than not on the menu, honestly! My two favorites right now are The Soprano, and Apple Pie Morning. I always look forward to my staff meal because there are so many delicious options to choose from. So many I still haven't tried! The ingredients are mostly local, which I love. The menu is very well put together. Every single Item has a different story behind it, named by the family. The food is cooked with love, and you can definitely taste it here at Crozet Crepe Company. Not only do I love working for Matt and Julia Franz, (two super talented chefs Chefs and amazing human beings, parents, now friends) the entire Crozet community has made me feel welcomed, and my days at work a pleasure. While most days we have a line out the door..I promise you. It's worth it! Okay, the ambiance is different depending on when you come of course. I would say the best time to come in for a quiet breakfast is weekdays, early morning 7-9. After that, may the odds be ever in your favor because we get PACKED for lunch no matter what day of the week. Keep in mind we close at 3, and it's a first come first serve basis so come secure your table (if my review was helpful to you, ask to sit in my section) PS ordering online or calling is also an option but if the restaurant gets too busy, they will turn it off and we go into in-house only dining. Moving on to the food...see photos

Crozeli Sandwich Shop - Hot Italian

A friend and I were in Crozet this weekend and I wanted to grab something to eat before we headed…read moreback to Short Pump. This sandwich shop popped up in Yelp, so I decided to give it a try. It's located inside a building that appears to have been a school in the past. We got there in the middle of the afternoon, so there was no line. I opted for a cold Italian sandwich without mayo to go. The sandwich didn't take took long and when I opened it up in the car, my first reaction was that the bread was about twice the thickness of the filling. It was a good sized sandwich and tasted ok, but it was too bready for my liking.

I will add as context to this review that I came into our sandwich order with some biases, namely…read morefor the style of sandwich common in the greater Philly-NYC food region. This is particularly true for the cheesesteak, which is what I ordered. When I picked it up, it seemed light, which I soon learned was due to a paucity (relative to my not insubstantial experience with Philly-style cheesesteaks) of meat in the sandwich. Consequently, the sandwich tasted rather bready. My wife ordered a hot Italian. This was a meatier (and thus more satisfying) sandwich, but still not ideal for several reasons. First, it was not hot. I mean this in two ways, both that the bread was not (or at least did not seem) toasted and that it was not very spicy. This latter observation relates to a second criticism that there did not seem to be cappicola on the sandwich, but in its place was some other meat that did not belong (maybe turkey, maybe honey ham). It's possible that my lackluster experience here was because we ordered the wrong things. Other reviews rave about other sandwiches we didn't order, and maybe those are better. I hope so.
