I keep seeing advertisements for the new Martha Stewart colab chocolate chip cookie, so I decided to stop by. I usually go to the carlsbad store but I was near this one today. I walked in and was greeted instantly. I was the only customer there. I ordered and was handed my chocolate chip cookies right away. I waited until I got home to eat them. I have to say the flavor was really good. It's crisp and chewy at the same time. The salt sprinkled on top was a good addition but I think a tiny bit less would have been better. After a bit the employee plopped the order down and just walked away... and this is what it looked like: No effort to make the cookie presentable? Everyone has bad days but it's still important to do normal, standard, average work! This is shoddy and subpar and says a lot about what kind of person this location hires. Would not recommend. The cookie dough is really dense and flavorless - it appears to be the same "base" used for all cookies - so the only difference between cookies are the mix-in ingredients, frostings and toppings. Flavor-wise I don't feel that makes for the best tasting cookies - but I can see how it is good for mass-producing pretty cookies. This place is great! We went to a bar and decided we should leave to try this place. 10 minutes away from The Krakken, they are easily found right off the free way. There were 6 cookies to choose from and prices are comparative to Cookie Plug. The girl recommended Strawberry Cookie which my friend bought since she said it caught her eye. Just walking into this place, the vibe is friendly and they are patient. Everything is clean and the display is immaculate. There's a freezer and they also sell ice cream which I will try another time. I ordered the 6 cookie package & my friend and I ordered 2 chocolate chip cookie, 2 cookies that had PB that I baht remember the bake of, a birthday cake or cake batter cookie, & a Dark Dream cookie. They really liked their cookies but I felt that the chocolate chip cookie was just basically a sugar cookie. Filled with chocolate chip cookies & give, there was definitely not really a taste, just the taste of sweetness. The chocolate chips I guess were not bitter enough to add another level of flavor. However, the Dark Dream was to die for! The balance of this cookie was there! The chocolate chips were semi sweet which balanced out the dough. First of all this place is SO quick! It longer to pay than it was to be handed fresh warm cookies! They have loyalty program with your phone number so you can earn points toward more goodies! The cookies are so soft and moist! The flavors aren't aggressively sweet. I got the Carmel cake and it's edges were crispy but still a soft cookie. The Classic Pink was sooooo soft and buttery, like better (as expected) than those store bought icing sugar cookies. Bf has the choccy chip and he loved the melty huge chocolate chunks and the soft chewy cookie. Anyone leaving less than 5-stars is likely a salty human who is bitter that they can't make cookies near this delicious! The service was prompt and the place is tidy and bustling! The cookies can be hit or miss. That didn't stop us from trying as many flavors as we can on a weekly basis. The staff are very accommodating and helpful if there are issues. You can order from the crumbl app, notify the store you're in the parking lot, and they'll bring your purchase to you. The only issue with that is the parking lot is a headache and there's hardly ever parking in front. read more

People I know rave about this place and since we were in the area, decided to give it a try! It's located in the same shopping center as Vons. I ordered through their mobile app, which was super convenient. Since it was my first time, I didn't wanna overorder...so, I only chose the pink sugar cookie. When I went to pick up my cookie at my specified time, it wasn't ready. I was waiting at the pick up area, and no one came to help me whatsoever or ask if I was waiting for an order. Then, a third employee passes by the area, and helps a lady that got there minutes AFTER me and was going to walk away if I didn't ask for her help. It was kind of unbelievable. Any way, the cookie was OK...there was too much cookie for the amount of sugar frosting on top, so it wasn't an even proportion in my opinion. The store itself is in a quiet plaza and fits in with the overall white aesthetic of Del Mar. Inside, it is clean and the workers are kind. Though no one is usually at the front register, you can wait to flag someone down or use the self-checkout kiosks towards the right. I found the experience to be painless and straightforward. When your order is ready, they will call your name and present your cookies before sending you off. Overall, the prices are pretty steep but not astronomical. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip: 3/5 Starting off with the most subdued of the cookies. The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip has a texture akin to a moist muffin top. The flavor is mildly pumpkin-ish with a gentle backbone of pumpkin spice. I would best describe the eating experience as smooth but uninteresting. This would be good with a sweet cup of coffee as it is pretty mild in the sweetness department as well. Classic Pink Sugar: 3.5/5 This was one of the sweeter cookies and the only chilled one I received this time. The icing is pretty thick and as it warms up becomes much looser. This is a very straightforward cookie with a sugar cookie base and a frosting that is straight almond extract. The texture of the cookie is Crumbl Cookie's signature sort of underbaked crumb with a slight chew. If you dislike the taste of almond extract or something like marzipan, I would avoid. Iced Oatmeal: 3.5/5 Another basic cookie, it had a stronger, spicier flavor compared to the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip. The texture is a little more chewy and toothsome compared to the typical Crumbl Cookie as the oats add a bit of a bite. The icing was very generous and was more liquidy towards the middle. Again, nothing extraordinary but decent. Because of the icing, this cookie leans sweeter than average. Almost Everything Bagel: 3/5 I am very conflicted with this cookie. You get a sort of sugar cookie base with the signature Crumbl Cookie texture that is coated in sesame and poppy seeds. Do I wish that they included the typical dried garlic, onion, and other savory mix-ins of an everything bagel? Yeah, I do as I think it would make for an even more complex final product, but I understand why that may deter more people than intrigue them. The overall cookie has a very noticeable amount of salt and the cream cheese on top is plain with no added sugar. My first bite was odd, the second good, and the third odd again. When you eat a good everything bagel, the experience goes something like this: you crunch through a layer of seeds and seasonings until your teeth go through a crisp layer of pasty, then a chewy layer, and finally hit cool and savory cream cheese. With this cookie, you lose out on the bagel aspect and instead are given an overly sweet, greasy, and dense canvas that clashes against the cream cheese on top. The idea was good, but the execution was greatly lacking. Milk Glaze ft. Fruity Pebbles: 3.5/5 Crispy with the flakes on top and inside the cookie, the Milk Glaze with Fruity Pebbles was probably the most solid cookie this week. Again, the texture is pretty similar to the rest but it did have a very satisfying crunch that was absent in most of the other cookies. Though yummy, the flavor is pretty simple and there is not much to comment on other than it really tastes like Fruity Pebbles. French Toast: 1/5 Of all the cookies this week, the French Toast was a looker. This was a horrible cookie though. Cakey and dry like a coffee cake from Starbucks that got lost for a week in the display, the texture of this cookie was simply inedible. It had a strong maple syrup flavor and the scoop of butter on top is a lightly sweetened butter frosting. French Toast has a wonderful squishy, custardy, eggy texture that is the opposite of dry. For the price that this was, awful. Please avoid. I really enjoyed that frosting though, please put it on more things. read more

A few months ago, I was dining at a restaurant nearby and noticed a number of people going in and out of a shop holding pink-colored boxes in their hands. Fast forward to current times, a friend of mine recently spoke highly about their love for a place called Crumbl Cookies. Little did I know Crumbl Cookies was this same shop I had seen people walking in and out of, so of course, it sparked my curiosity! One day, out of the blue, I decided to download the app and place my first carry-out order at this location. I chose the 4-Pack box and selected my cookie flavors, which at the time were Milk Chocolate Chip, Frosted Strawberry Pop-Tart, Lemon Cupcake, and Double Fudge Brownie. Once I arrived at the door, the entire staff warmly greeted me, and within a few minutes of waiting, my name was called and I was out the door with my pink box in hand. As soon as I got into my car, I opened the box and, took a whiff, and was excited to get my hands on a fresh warm gourmet cookie! I must say, these cookies are big enough to split in half and share. The first cookie I tried was their Lemon Cupcake and this one turned out to be one of my favorites. The swirl of velvety frosting was so good! The flavor was perfect and not overly sweet at all. I then tried their Double Fudge Brownie and that turned out to be a major hit for me too! That flavor was spot on and hit the spot! Their Milk Chocolate Chip which is their staple was good and definitely one you can't go wrong with to pair with a glass of milk. As for their Frosted Strawberry Pop-Tart, wow! I really enjoyed that one and now I'm hooked and look forward to trying another batch of new flavors! First off, I like how easy and quick it is to place your order using their app. You're basically in and out in a matter of minutes when choosing carry-out. Secondly, I like the simplicity of their menu and how it changes weekly. I don't like being overwhelmed with a gang of flavors like at most cookie shops, so having only 6 to choose from is a good way to get me coming back for more! Last, but not least, their cookies are delicious, fluffy, moist, and not overly sugary or sweet. They've all got the right amount of balance in flavors and that's something that I find to either be a constant hit or miss at other cookie competitor shops. It can be easily shared by two people! Our box of 6 had two of their best seller Milk Chocolate Chip cookies and four Mother's Day Special cookies- Pink Velvet, Lemon Glazed, Chocolate Cake, Mom's recipe. We split each cookie so we all got a taste of all flavors. The cookies were actually very good! They are not cloyingly sweet and I like them like that! And so very Crumbly!!! My fave was Pink Velvet hands down! Followed by Lemon Glaze. Chocolate Cake tasted like a good brownie. Milk chocolate chip was also good. The only one I didn't care for was Mom's recipe, it had a little of everything Chocolate Chip, PB, Sea Salt, Coconut and Cinnamon perhaps (?). All in all, very good cookies!
