Came because we had a coupon for a free cookie. Located in the del mar highlands shopping mall in the first floor. The shop is walk in only with no seating inside but right outside they have a few patio tables in the mall you can sit at. I got the oaty chip and the pink lady. They are of the thicker variety where the inside is barely baked and the outside is crispy. Flavor was good but nothing mind blowing. The oaty chip had a nice saltiness that contrasted the chocolate well. The pink lady has freeze dried strawberries that add a really nice intense strawberry flavor. I've been a fan of this location since their opening. It can be a hit or miss with service but the cookies are what matters. I was shopping at Jimbos next door and decided to stop by to see what was available. They don't accept cask and it's a simple ipad payment. Yes there is an automatic service charge plus a tip page that will show on the screen. I was lucky that the chocolate chip cookie was freshly baked and warm. I like how they gave it to me in a small box so it was easier to take home. The cookie had a nice crispy exterior. The interior was too creamy for me (I can't say if it was under baked?) as it was a bit wet. I'm a chocolate fiend so I loved all the chocolate morsels inside the cookie. Several in the group wanted ice cream, but I am a sucker for a warm gooey cookie and happened to see Batch & Box. I can pass up ice cream any time but not a good cookie. While I waited for my friends to order their ice cream, I watched a steady stream of customers go in and out of this cookie store. Although I had never heard of this place before, I could tell they are a big hit in this area. So I jumped in line and was so happy I did! It is hard to tell by looking at their cookies that they are soft and gooey inside because they are a thick and tall mound of a cookie. No thin, flat cookies here. But trust me, if you like a soft cookie with melting chocolate bits/chips/morsels this is a must get when in the area. I am a big fan of an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and their Oaty Chip is in my top 3 of all time. Despite its heaping mound of dough, this cookie is NOT raw inside. The rolled oats, dark chocolate morsels (not semi-sweet) and sea salt is decadent. Two of us shared this cookie and the sounds of delight coming from our mouths was almost inappropriate! We had melted dark chocolate all over our fingers and the cookie was so soft that I couldn't safely get my phone out to take a picture. I was not going to drop any cookie bits. Although the cookie experience did not last as long as my friend's ice cream, it was by far, the best sweet treat ever! My only complaint is there is not a Batch & Box in my area. read more

This is an elevated cookie shop located at the corner of Del Mar highlands near Jimbo market. It's right next to Handel's Ice Cream. It's perfect, cookies and ice cream! The decor is modern minimalistic. The place is clean . There's a large window to see inside their kitchen. Person who helped me was very patient. She went over the entire list of cookies they have. Only certain cookies are warmed up. Otherwise, they come out cold and hard. I got the seasonal Tiramisu cookie. While it was 2 cookies with a filling, it was hard. Perhaps I could've waited for it to be at room temp since it had just come out of the fridge. For the price I paid, I thought it was just OK. My son got the doodle warmed up and it was pretty good! Batch & Box is one of my favorite dessert spots in San Diego. Although it can be quite the drive coming from south San Diego, their cookies are worth it - most of the time. I enjoy that they keep their cookie menu interesting by doing two seasonal cookies per month. However, one area that this location lacks (compared to their La Jolla location) is that they do not offer samples (or at least the times I have visited, they do not have them). In a way, it's a bit disappointing because I'd like to be able to try a new flavor before committing to the full cookie. For example, the dubai chocolate cookie (seasonal for month of June) was exceptionally delicious. The key lime cookie, on the other hand, wasn't my personal favorite. I rarely give 5 stars but this cookie shop 100% deserves it because you can taste the high quality ingredients used! My absolute favorite is the Dubai chocolate cookie and the regular chocolate chip. Everything else I feel is too sweet. The Dubai chocolate cookie is filled with crispy Praline giving it a nice texture and cutting the sweetness by a little (would taste even better if less sugar was used as the sweetness can take away from the flavor) and the chocolate chip cookie is classic but amazing taste and consistency probably bc their cookies a thicker so the center is more moist. You def can't compare these cookies to other shops but it makes Crumbl cookies look like Walmart cookies, (actually Walmart cookies probably taste better than Crumbl still) The cookies are a MUST TRY!!!! read more
