I've been a fan of this location since their opening. It can be a hit or miss with service but the cookies are what matters. I was shopping at Jimbos next door and decided to stop by to see what was available. They don't accept cask and it's a simple ipad payment. Yes there is an automatic service charge plus a tip page that will show on the screen. I was lucky that the chocolate chip cookie was freshly baked and warm. I like how they gave it to me in a small box so it was easier to take home. The cookie had a nice crispy exterior. The interior was too creamy for me (I can't say if it was under baked?) as it was a bit wet. I'm a chocolate fiend so I loved all the chocolate morsels inside the cookie. It's a pricier option to get your cookie-fix but can be worth it when the cookies are right out the oven :)
Since we were in Del Mar already, my husband and i ventured into this Batch and Box as suggested by a very nice lady we spoke with while in the Plaza. OMG the goodness, sweetness, chunky cookies were to live for ! Each has its own quality and they were very good! I had the Oaty, the Pink lady, the Brown Butter Chocolate Chips and more! My husband and i cheated so much from our IF and i don't regret it at all! The young man serving us was so patient and suggested "why don't you just get half a dozen since you have four already?!" I said "why not?" You don't have to ask me twice! Their front table is adorned by the cookies available and you a first eye-view of the cookies that you are going to get! The aroma of the baked cookies permeated the store and it smelled so so good! I hope you take the time to check them out. Even though it's kind of pricey per cookie, the taste is worth the price! The cashier was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always makes the experience better. We ordered the classic chocolate chip and the Dubai cookie. Both were really well done with soft centers, great texture, and not overly sweet. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, especially the chocolate. The Dubai cookie stood out with its richer, more indulgent flavor, but the classic chocolate chip was just as satisfying. An easy spot to pop into for a treat while shopping or to grab cookies to-go. Simple, quality cookies done right.

This location is in Del Mar Highlands Town Square, which makes it convenient when you're shopping and craving a sweet cookie treat. Another bonus is the ample parking.
Stopped by here during a post-dinner walk. I'm a cookie fiend, but have been let down at other SD cookie spots more than once due to their focus on style over taste and non-homemade, uniform consistency. Batch & Box stands out above the other cookie chains. The flavor combinations are interesting, you can taste fresh fruit and creative textural elements, and the cookies appear handmade. The cookie texture itself is somewhat odd - - thick, a bit dry in some spots and moist in others but at least it doesn't taste mass produced. The Pink Lady, featuring strawberry chunks and white chocolate swirls, was my favorite followed closely by the zany, marshmallow topped pumpkin chocolate chip cookie.
During a girls trip to San Diego, for a concert, we stopped to eat an early dinner before arriving at the venue. After leaving dinner, the group agreed we needed "just a little something sweet". Several in the group wanted ice cream, but I am a sucker for a warm gooey cookie and happened to see Batch & Box. I can pass up ice cream any time but not a good cookie. While I waited for my friends to order their ice cream, I watched a steady stream of customers go in and out of this cookie store. Although I had never heard of this place before, I could tell they are a big hit in this area. So I jumped in line and was so happy I did! It is hard to tell by looking at their cookies that they are soft and gooey inside because they are a thick and tall mound of a cookie. No thin, flat cookies here. But trust me, if you like a soft cookie with melting chocolate bits/chips/morsels this is a must get when in the area. I am a big fan of an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and their Oaty Chip is in my top 3 of all time. Despite its heaping mound of dough, this cookie is NOT raw inside. The rolled oats, dark chocolate morsels (not semi-sweet) and sea salt is decadent. Two of us shared this cookie and the sounds of delight coming from our mouths was almost inappropriate! We had melted dark chocolate all over our fingers and the cookie was so soft that I couldn't safely get my phone out to take a picture. I was not going to drop any cookie bits. Although the cookie experience did not last as long as my friend's ice cream, it was by far, the best sweet treat ever! My only complaint is there is not a Batch & Box in my area.
Old review: taken nov 2020 The doodle: Omg. This was amazing!!! I love the bits of cinnamon sugar morsels inside. Reminded me of apple pie without apples. The lady: I love the raspberry bits in this. Tastes like a raspberry cheesecake. Would taste better w dark chocolate imo. I'm biased though. The Julian: Amazing! Apple pie in a cookie!! Cinnamony and delicious. Pumpkin spice: Pretty good. The white choco chips are a little overpowering though The sugar cookie: The frosting tastes like cream cheese and overpowers the cookie. The cookie is nice and soft though. The wonder: It's good but I think I would like classic better. Cocoa PB: This was good but the peanut butter flavor is strong.

Tried their new Dubai chocolate cookie. $2 more than a regular cookie. Rich, dense, lots of pistachio flavor. It was tasty and fun to try - but ultimately I think their regular chocolate chip cookie is more satisfying. Glad they had something new and I got to taste it; just doing the same old stuff all the time is boring. But the Classic is classic for a reason!
The cookies at Batch & Box delicious and gourmet. The gluten free chocolate chip cookie is soft, buttery, and stuffed to the max with chocolate chips. I appreciate that the gluten free cookies are wrapped separately to prevent cross contamination. The shop is small mostly used for pickup but is modern and clean. I do wish sometimes there would be a different flavor for the allergen friendly option because I'm jealous of all the other amazing flavors my husband gets to try!
Amazing cookies. Almost as big as the ones from Levain. Their pink lady with strawberries is amazing. A decent hint of sea salt and the white chocolate was awesome. I enjoyed the brown butter cookie which satisfied my pleasures. My wife got a gentleman, PB Chunk and the classic and loved them as well. I didnt expect the to go box to be so gigantic. People who haven't been probably thought we brought more than a dozen cookies. They are a pretty penny but you get a ton of cookie so there are no complaints, just be prepared to break the piggy bank for these gems. read more
This just wasnt it for me. It was 6.25 for one dubai cookie. The chocolate part tasted like a normal cookie, nothing spectacular. The pistachio part was decent but it just didn't scream "im worth it!". Its a small bakery and the samples/displays look nice. Inside is nice and the service is fine, it just wasnt for me. read more

Came because we had a coupon for a free cookie. Located in the del mar highlands shopping mall in the first floor. The shop is walk in only with no seating inside but right outside they have a few patio tables in the mall you can sit at. I got the oaty chip and the pink lady. They are of the thicker variety where the inside is barely baked and the outside is crispy. Flavor was good but nothing mind blowing. The oaty chip had a nice saltiness that contrasted the chocolate well. The pink lady has freeze dried strawberries that add a really nice intense strawberry flavor. I wish there was an option to have your cookie heated up in the shop. The shop itself feels very clean and bright. Service was fast and friendly. read more

I was looking for a gluten free desert for my friend. Unfortunately she's also allergic to nuts so she wasn't able to get anything since it was made with almond flour. I still got a few items. The cashier girl was nice and give me options but personally I wasn't wowed. The Dubai chocolate brownie was so small literally just a bite. The strawberry and cream cheese cookie I felt wasn't cooked well enjoy because it kept breaking down into pieces. I give it 3 starts because it is really cleaned and people we were really nice. read more

I've never been to Batch & Box before and now I definitely will want to try their other flavors! While I'm skeptical of a pricy cookie, these are better than their other cookie competitors. I can see why it was busy on a Sunday night! We picked up the chocolate and peanut butter chip cookie and oat and chocolate chip cookie. Both were perfectly baked inside and out and a thiccc cookie! I hope I'll be back in the area for another cookie soon or will need to find a location closer to my place' read more

Absolutely Delicious Cookies Here! No hype, the real deal. Love their branding personality. I love how you can see their baking space through the large plate glass window behind the register area. The girl at the counter was super sweet, well groomed, very knowledgeable about the cookies and process to make some of their cookies and was so patient with all the questions my elderly mother and myself asked. This is an elevated cookie shop located at the corner of Del Mar highlands near Jimbo market. It's right next to Handel's Ice Cream. It's perfect, cookies and ice cream! The decor is modern minimalistic. The place is clean . There's a large window to see inside their kitchen. Person who helped me was very patient. She went over the entire list of cookies they have. Only certain cookies are warmed up. Otherwise, they come out cold and hard. I got the seasonal Tiramisu cookie. While it was 2 cookies with a filling, it was hard. Perhaps I could've waited for it to be at room temp since it had just come out of the fridge. For the price I paid, I thought it was just OK. My son got the doodle warmed up and it was pretty good! I will say that they put the cookies in a nice box. Presentation was on point! read more

Batch & Box serves up some of the best cookies in La Jolla and Del Mar. Their Chocolate Chip Cookie is a masterpiece. What sets it apart is the combination of milk and dark chocolate chips. I'm not the biggest milk chocolate fan yet having a mix of the two elevated the cookie significantly. It was chocolatey and gooey heaven and I often crave this cookie. I also love their Cocoa PB cookie, which has peanut butter morsels. I can't get enough and highly, highly recommend! read more

Cookie Reviews w/ photos: Gingerbread w/ icing. This was a delightful surprise as I bit into it. There are some nice fresh bits of candied ginger (I think) so you get both the classic sugary soft gingerbread in cookie form. A must have during the season! Peppermint chocolate. Another fabulous surprise. The moist chocolate cookie works really well with the peppermint icing and tiny shards of candy. Overall pleasantly surprised by these seasonal editions. Worth grabbing one in addition to your favorites. read more

Cookies! These cookies are like your grandmas cookies. Warm, thick and gooey. My friends love their The Oaty chip. So I got it for her and for myself to try, and I got their classic. I actually like their classic cookie better, it just tasted homey. Their oaty chip was good but I felt it was a bit dry. It was still good though. Cookies are a bit pricier than say Crumbl.
