Crumbl really needs to update their hours, especially in OBX as we are visiting. We drove 30 minutes because we were craving it, only to get there and see a note on the door saying they were closing at 4pm this week. Online it says they're open until 10pm, and it was only 6pm. (Achtung: Contrarian viewpoint ahead) While Drew V's review from July of '21 might be a bit extreme, I agree with the premise of what he's saying. The ordering process here is unbelievably efficient. From the time we put the order in on the kiosk and paid for everything until they called my name with the finished product was maybe three minutes. This included plenty of other people placing orders, asking the staff questions, meandering, etc. Overall, the store is easy to find in a little strip mall in Southern Shores. Parking was a little tight as all of stores were doing good business but nothing crazy. What I didn't like honestly was everything regarding the actual flavor of the cookies I tried. We got a box with all six flavors listed on the website plus I think two more not on the website but available in the store (some kind of hot chocolate + ?). The cookie itself isn't bad but the icing is always the killer. The white stuff on the Golden Oreo was horrifically sweet the same as the stuff on the Ultimate Peanut Butter. It truly needs to come with an insulin chaser. It's honestly too much of everything. It's like the old saying about kinky is using a feather and perverted is using the whole chicken. The losing cookie was easily the Tres Leches. It's served chilled and started to melt, leak, ooze once it got outside in the sun. Big no on that one. The pink sugar and the regular chocolate chip were the two I would call the most "normal or regular". Last year a Crumbl location opened about 30 minutes from home for me and never once have I thought about going. This experience isn't going to change that. The staff members we dealt with were extremely nice, but the product is beyond bloated in the price department and the extreme sugary flavor of some of their icings is honestly, gross. Crumbl Cookies is always delicious and it was very fun to find them while we were on vacation. They had a lot of really tasty fall/Halloween flavors but to me the best of their mystery flavor of the week: frosted animal cookie which tastes just like the memorable childhood treat. The pumpkin swirl and carrot cakes were to die for and the peanut butter pie cookie tasted exactly like a whipped peanut butter pie. read more

To be honest they weren't ready at 10 but the doors were open. Friendly but not very helpful. You could obviously see that we didn't know what to do. The one lady was going around taking photos but just blew us off. I had to ask if I have to order myself or do they do it. One person said oh you just push the cookies button. I seriously think this was not a very friendly helpful customer service business. Originally I bought some through the mail and was excited to see one where we were vacationing. But as the three of us stood there no one was overly helpful. My other two friends were going to order but they walked out. How can you lose customers? You can obviously see that we had questions. This experience has really put a bad taste in my mouth about not wanting to go to another one at all. I do not recommend coming to this store ever. read more

Why not a 5 stars. I loved them, easy to order and fantastic service. They have a cult following and deserve the hype in my opinion. I believe there is only one other location in the state and that's Raleigh. My home state Virginia has one that I'm aware of in NOVA. On other travels to the West Coast I have not seen. They are a Utah based company with many store in that state. They typically have chosen large cities, but the Outer Banks being touristy got a franchise The location is beside the Southern Shore Court House just off the bypass road and not far from the beach road. The lack of parking is the single issue that has potential to be a serious problem during peak times, My family visited them during a Saturday afternoon and ordered off the kiosk machine which was efficient. We got a box of four for $11+ and there is an opportunity to tip which I recommend. The staff of three all wore mask and was working hard! The place was spotless clean. Love the simple white decor. While waiting the baker, an older lady struck up a conversation and was so sweet. Add half star for this interaction. Our cookies were ready in less than five minutes. All were hot, fresh and scrumptious! My kids immediately were trying in the car. Favorites were the Chocolate Cake and Pink Velvet. We took to a family gathering and what a hit. A 4+ and rounding up with super customer service. Can't wait to return. read more

I am not a big sweet eater but my boyfriend is. So, when we were visiting OBX (Outer Banks), we had to try Crumbl Cookies and I will say they were very good, inside and out. We went in and ordered through the self checkout machines which they do have but you can also order at the counter. I chose red velvet and fried ice cream. He choose chocolate chip and brownie batter. We then waited for about 2 minutes and we're given out cookies. The staff was nice and the inside smelled delicious and looked very clean. Now to review the cookies: - Brownie Batter: surprisingly not as sweet as you would think, very chocolatey for my chocolate lovers 5/5 for both of us - Chocolate Chip: 5/5 for me because it is my favorite cookie and he also said it was good. Description: Moist - Red Velvet: A little on the sweeter side for him but I loved it, it has cream cheese icing and you either like it or you don't. 5/5 for me & 3/5 for him - Fried Ice Cream: I personally did not enjoy this one because it was too sweet. The icing is very sweet. I think it is a snickerdoodle cookie with icing and then fried ice cream on top. 2/5 from us both. Altogether you will enjoy this place if you visit OBX. When I saw Crumbl's Thanksgiving week flavors I was so disappointed I wasn't going to be home to try them. Then I discovered they had a location here in the Outer Banks! Covid-19: you can order and pay through their app or online. They also do curbside pickup. It's very convenient. The three flavors we wanted to try this week were pumpkin pie, peach cobbler, and caramel cheesecake. It only costs 50 cents more to get a party box with 4 cookies than 3 individual cookies so obviously we did that and added a chilled sugar. The pumpkin pie cookie might have been my favorite flavor yet. It had actual pumpkin pie filling on top of the cookie except it tasted even better than normal pie filling. The cobbler/streusel part of the peach cobbler cookie was delicious. There was almost no peach in it though. The caramel cheesecake was pretty disappointing the only caramel was a small drizzle on top. The cookie was pretty boring. I liked the icing though. The chilled sugar was delicious as always (that almond extract in the frosting is to die for). Crumbl is definitely my favorite chain cookie store. During our family vacation to the OBX, we stopped here to get a dozen cookies for dessert our first night. The cookies are good, but man, they're expensive. The one thing that helps justify the cost, is that the cookies are huge.....and very dense. I would swear that box of a dozen cookies weighed over 5 lbs. So one cookie goes a long way. The solution was, we took a pizza cutter and cut the different flavors we bought into 8 "slices" for each cookie. Great way to sample all the different flavors without going overboard. read more

I finally got a chance to try this infamous spot! I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either. We tried 4 different flavors; chocolate chip, double chocolate, lemon, and sugar cookie. They all were good. My favorite was the lemon. The cookies are super soft and really thick. They're big enough for two people to share one. I'm told the trick is to place an order and get them fresh, which I didn't do this time. The sugar cookie with pink icing was way too sweet for both myself and my son. The other were pretty good. I would definitely go back to try some other flavors. read more

Delicious cookies the size of your face. We didn't realize how huge the cookies were and bought way too many. On day two of eating the cookies I found a LONG hair INSIDE the oreo cookie. They ice the cookies there after you order them! Fresh icing! Not the hard crusty icing at some other places! We went out to eat one night and another local place would not let us order dessert and take it outside to watch the sunset at their outside bar. We got home and still wanted dessert. The ones that stood out to me with pure deliciousness were the caramel popcorn one and the peanut butter.
