I've been really impressed with the team at Crunch, especially Miguel at the front desk. He consistently goes above and beyond to make members feel welcome, answer questions, and is pro active in maintaining a clean and organized workout environment that create a positive experience every time you walk in. His professionalism, friendly attitude, and strong customer service stands out and sets a great example for the rest of the team. Generally on the clean side, and restrooms are upkept. The hours are pretty mid tier, they don't open until 7am on weekends. On multiple occasions staff was late to open. The equipment isn't the best, for example the pec deck has these rubber bumpers that stop you from being able to get a full contraction. Overall I'd say save this as a last resort gym and explore other options. Had to go in 3 times to cancel because one staff wasn't even there and there were members waiting out front to get in 45 minutes after open. The second time the person working didn't have access to member files and couldn't cancel it. read more

Crunch is the reason I made the switch to a private gym. Crunch is always dirty. Smells awful... literally smells like mildew. Machines are always broken. Too many people in such a small gym. I called to get help. I've gone in to get help.. and their locations email at the end of it all. The manager is very rude. I've brought my husband in as a guest several times, he always checks in with his phone number and confirming his name. For some reason when the manager was out front, he demanded my husband's ID and said he was not allowed in the gym unless he presented his valid ID. I can understand as a first time guest having your ID, totally makes sense but having to skip a workout because all of a sudden your policy changes? Outrageous. read more

I've been a member of Crunch Fitness in Lancaster, CA for a while now, and I have mixed feelings about the place. While it's not the best gym I've been to, it does cover the basics well. The gym is equipped with all the essential machines, which is great for a standard workout. One of the standout features of this gym is the staff. They're always friendly and greet you with a smile when you walk in, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The maintenance crew deserves a special shoutout, they do an absolutely amazing job keeping the gym spotless. Whether it's the machines, the floors, the hardwood room, or the bathrooms, everything is consistently clean and well-maintained. In terms of equipment maintenance, the staff is generally good at repairing machines when they go down. However, there are currently two machines that have been out of order for a couple of weeks, which is a bit disappointing. I actually like this gym as a new gym rat. Reggie is a great trainer and he gets love from a lot of people at the gym. He's super professional and he's always engaged in training me. Like--his attention is not divided and he's actually checking my form and pushing me to get better. I also have to shout out Jay Jaimez because I couldn't get the classes on the app on my phone. Extremely disappointed in the fraudulent way one of these workers was getting people, including myself, to sign up for this gym. I had great experiences as a guest in other cities, and wanted to try out the one here in Lancaster. I let the guy know I wouldn't be here long, and needed a short membership. He recommended the $10 deal they had and promised I could cancel after two months with no repercussions. I can to try and cancel my membership since a family emergency is moving me to Vegas (where there are no crunch gyms) and I let them know before the two months. They said I HAD to wait the full two months & they apologize for the man who signed me up, he's been known to not explain things right. Anyway, I come back so I could change my membership and not get charged for the full year. I accepted and came back but they said they couldn't do anything about the yearly charge + the monthly charge. They're quite literally stealing money and lying to people to sign them up. I won't be using the yearly membership but still had to pay for it, with absolutely no help from the staff. Only a "Sorry, this is policy." Just completely disappointed in the theft as well as lack of training within the scouting individuals. I would have never signed up had it been explained or I would have been given time to read the policies. Do better, please. Great Lancaster gym! I visited this gym at opening time on a weekday. The huge parking lot out front was empty as was the gym. The single-story gym was modern and clean. The equipment was new and everything was functioning well. There was a good assortment of cardio machines (stepmills, stationary bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals), a Camp Crunch, classrooms, a functional training area, a good amount of weight machines, and ample free weights. Everything was properly spaced out and did not feel cramped. (See photos.) The female locker room/shower area was clean and functional. Other areas I observed were Hydro-Massage and Tanning. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hours were great! I love the Tuesday through Thursday open 24 hours! In short, this is a great gym to get the job done. Nothing fancy but not shabby either. read more

Update to my previous review: You would think with the recent Coronavirus outbreak that something as simple as cleanliness would be a primary concern of the gym. Yeah...no. On my last review I discussed the cleanliness of the women's restroom. Since that time, it's gotten worse! The toilets practically never get cleaned now, there is toilet tissue or toilet seat covers all over the floor, the back of the toilets have dust on them; Urine on the seats, menstrual cycle materials all over the place with occasional blood/urine combo drops on the seat, hair in the showers, I mean the list goes on. Is there not some health code that businesses must maintain; even if food isn't served there. read more

I wish I listened to all the reviews here . They made it very difficult to cancel . I came just for a day pass to check out their facility but took total 25 minutes just to create account. Then the team member tells me non local residents don't qualify for day pass even though I work in Lancaster and am just renting out a room out here . After , I didn't care anymore I'll pay whatever I just wanna work out . I've been waiting for just a pass for 25 minutes . Then he told me I can only get the month pass and I can just email or come in person to cancel. Two weeks later I email to cancel and no response for a week. I called to cancel and was told I have to come in person but didn't have a manager on site so they can't move forward with my cancellation . I was like okay the emailed terms says I have until July 18th to cancel . Got a response from the manager offered me a 9.99/ month which I agreed to cause why not let me do it for a month and see how I feel about the place. After a few days , I decided not to keep the membership. I came July 17 and finally got to talk to a manager in person and he was even worst than the team member. This manager was rude and all he cares about his getting his quota and making you keep the membership. He proceeds to tell me that I'm too late in cancelling and will charge me $75 because their billing date is actually July 17 not July 18th . I hope this review finds other people well and beware of terrible management in this location because no gym should continue operating like this. They require you 30 days notice to cancel. If you're just coming for a day pass, they will lure you for a monthly pass, have you digital sign a contract and that's how they trick you. After that, they'll make it impossible for you to cancel by delaying it until you have to pay the annual fee. By then, you have been charged 2 to 3 monthly fees and the annual fee. From light research, corporate hq is hard to reach. You can file a complaint to BBB but they're at capacity or you can file a lawsuit. read more

Crunch is the worst in customer service! They do the marketing talk , best in convincing but when you ask to cancel, they offer a hold on your account until you change your mind. I did what they pursuaded me to do and asked to have both of my accounts ( my daughters and mine) frozen, only to learn after a few months that i am still being charged by crunch for one pf my accounts... I went to Lancaster crunch and spoke with the manager, HE WAS NOT WEARING A MASK!!! in the middle of a surge??!! how irresponsible! I asked for a refund for their negligible act of not freezing one of my accounts and still charged me for 4 months! but they denied my request because it was not possible. They do not want you to cancel your membership. I sent two emails to cancel as instructed by phone. No response. They then charged me the next month. I went in. They promised they would cancel and refund my monthly charge, and that a manager would call me. No one did. They charged me the next two months. No refund. No call. Went in today. My fourth attempt to cancel my membership and get my money back. I was upset. They are trying to pull a fast one. The manager came out with a condescending attitude. The gym itself is fine, good environment and lots of machines and equipment available for different types of workouts but the customer service is horrible. Didn't have an issues with them until I tried to cancel my membership because I was moving out of state. Tried to cancel in March when I moved never got confirmation that it was canceled and have still been getting charged for a gym I'm nowhere near. Tried to email again as well as call the gym but communication is awful and getting hold of Mario, the manager who is apparently in charge of canceling memberships, is impossible. When I finally got a response from Mario, he didn't even attempt to apologize for getting the run around or the poor communication on his part just that he needed more information from me in an effort to get this finally taken care of I responded to his email quickly but here we are with no response AGAIN. Laura from Crunch gave my 15 year old son a membership on 7/23/2019 without ID/parental consent !!! She deliberately changed his DOB in the system !!!! I've called & walked in a handful of times & no one is able to tell me why they would do such UNETHICAL/ILLEGAL things !!! The last time I walked in was in Feb. right before COVID closures. I spoke to another manager & he called his "boss". He then printed us a refund receipt for $190 something, he said we would receive it in 15 days. They closed due to COVID & recently reopened. I called and spoke to him about the refund I have to yet receive. He tells me "it's on us, there will be no refund". How are you guys not IDing minors ? Do you even ID anyone ? Extremely disappointed with this location on how they handle business. It definitely puts negative experience on the brand and I would not consider a membership here in the future nor recommend it to friends or family. My first problem that occurred was when my stepson was killed in a car accident and I decided to take over the membership and the annual fee had just came out only a month before. So I asked to take over the membership instead of closing it. They refused and said I'd have to pay another annual fee for myself. They showed no compassion or took any consideration. I've been a member since opening day and go often. The gym is super clean, the staff are very friendly, and they have good equipment. They keep the facilities clean and the the equipment working. The gym is kind of small and can get cramped at peak hours, mainly due to members socializing and taking up space while not working out. My only complaint is the music. It tends to be loud club type music, but hey, buy noise cancelling headphones.
