When this gym first opened up a few years ago- it was top notch. We moved gyms and joined Crunch because it was honestly one of the best gyms in the Toledo area. However, over the years, the facility has lost all the features that made me join in the first place. I pay for the peak membership ($25 a month) and so does my husband. So $50 a month we pay for a membership at Crunch. My husband and I go several times a week, so we are very aware of how often things are being disregarded. This place is ALWAYS popping. Morning- busy. Lunch- busy. Evening-busy. It being busy really isn't a huge deal, but when MANY machines are broken or need maintenance, then it's more of a nuisance. For months they've only had 3 stair steppers functioning (out of 6). Today- went to the gym and found only TWO are working!! Now people awkwardly stand behind the steppers waiting to use them.... How awesome when I'm trying to get a workout in.... Can't wait for creepers to make that excuse... They've had signs on them stating "I need a rest day".... I understand things happen and machines break down, but it's ridiculous how long they've been down. Like I said- the place is always busy! Honestly, at least 50-80+ people there at all times. They only have a couple of hand sanitizer dispensers and they have been empty for months. I carry around my own sanitizer in my gym bag. The women's bathroom has had a single stall closed since December at least, with a silly sign stating "on my last rep I sustained an injury" or something like that. I checked today and it still had a sign on it and was closed. My husband said that in the men's bathroom, they've had a sink broken for a while too. Ridiculous! The reason why I left my old gym to come here was because of constant machines being broken and maintenance being poor. It's annoying paying this much for a membership and not being able to use the facility fully. And like I said, it's always busy!! People pay to go here. Use those funds to maintain your facility. All in all, if someone asked me if they should join - I'd say no. And I know several people who have left for all these reasons. Sad to see for a facility that was once top notch. read more

Nice staff, but the machines are often broken. Especially the stairmills which have been broken for months and are "waiting for parts." The men's locker room is tiny and too crowded. Place has gone downhill this past year. They struggle to find employees and the place is dirty a lot of the time. A lot of machines are broken and it takes forever for them to be fixed. It feels like they have too many members for the capacity and function of the gym. read more

I bragged to everyone when I first joined this gym in how nice and clean it was. There was always someone cleaning machines and workout equipment. Now the place has gone from clean to dirty. Went the other day and the treadmills had so much crap where the belt was ,it was disgusting. Then when something is broke down it takes forever to fix Come on Crunch you can do better than this !!! read more

Place continues to go downhill. Even with "new ownership". The men's locker rm is continually absolutely disgusting. I don't even want to sit on the beaches. Wet floors, broken lockers, horrible smell, random stuff on the floor. Looks like it hasn't been mopped in forever. Equipment is broken and is in and out of service. But if you miss a pmt by a day and their blowing up your phone on top of not being allowed to workout. I would highly suggest these "new owners" fix these problems. I've been a member from day one but will be leaving as soon as I can find a different gym. read more

They have a lot of options & ways to workout and the sauna is nice the bathrooms are really nice and clean also

Place is constantly completely packed (it's hard to do your workout when the racks are taken up entirely for 30-40 minutes solid) and the patrons are extremely rude. read more

I use to like this gym... not so much anymore. There is almost never anyone at the front desk (I hope you like waiting). This gym is always filthy. There are many machines that have been out of order for weeks/months. The women's bathroom smells absolutely terrible.. terrible! It smells like someone waits until they get there every morning to do their daily "business." I have also seen the fitness instructor (Tiffany) park in the front handicap spot and go on to teach a class.... Like really?!?! This gym is going downhill... don't even bother getting a membership. read more

At first the gym looks good then you meet the staff who are rude to customers. I was using the bike room for warm up on a leg day for 5 mins then a staff member told me I am not allowed to use the room and that it's only for a classes, I checked and there are no classes going on that day, she was very rude and would not me finish my warm up on the bike. I have been to crunch clarkston and crunch east lansing and never ever had a problem warming up in the bike room. Another time I asked for a piece of paper to use as a funnel and they told me no I had to buy a funnel. Just some rude experiences for only being here for a couple of weeks. read more

The lady up in the front told me that it is the last time that i can bring a guest to the hydro massage bc i do it often. last time i just bought my sister with me and that was it? I don't even come here often even tho i have a membership. read more

I signed up for a membership and when I did the person checking me out explained nothing and did not give me a date the annual fee would be deducted. I waited in line and got put to the side with this first interaction. Later, I had the annual fee bounce on my card because I did not know the date. I called and asked if there was a fee and the employee said no and just have it charged the next time I visit the gym. Then there was a fee and it bounced because I was under the impression that it would be the same amount. I then called and asked if they could run my card for the annual charge and remove the fee since I had a previous conversation with an employee who gave me the wrong information. Then they said a manager would call back in an hour. No one called so I called back and asked if they could cancel my membership. They said I would have to go into the gym. So I drove there and they immidiately had an attitude with me and treated me disrespectfully. I was told to sit down and they helped 50 other people and then I went back up to the register stating I need to cancel. They started the process and stopped to ring out another person for a candy bar. And I pointed out that I was in line first and wanted my transaction completed. I then got told that they couldn't even cancel my membership because there was no manager on duty. So I had this take up 2 hours of my vacation day and didn't have anything done, got treated disrespectfully and then have it ruin my day off. I worked in customer service for 10+ years and would have never treated someone so unprofessionally. It discouraged me to even use their gym and I will never go back there. On top of that they never keep their sprayers out and prioritize their "regulars" who they like and treat everyone else like garbage. Their equiptment is not safe and the cables stick and click. If I could give this business zero stars I would. It use to be great when I first joined and it went down hill over the last year. Let me tell you that before I left this gym, I was verbally assaulted by the owner for leaving a bad review of his gym on Facebook. That was the only way to get his attention. I guess when you leave this gym you are not allowed to have a bad opinion of it. I tried for several months to give them a chance, even after my year contract expired but nothing improved. The gym is absolutely filthy. Like really DIRTY and I mean this in every aspect you can imagine. The machines are always broken and stay broken which is the main reason why I left. I tried to reach out to management to find out when they would address this but all I got was the run around until I left that bad review of their gym on Facebook. I was still shopping for a new gym and using their facility when the owner approached me one evening screaming, belittling, and basically telling me every excuse why his gym was not maintained except for the fact that he wasn't spending the time or money to keep it up. He verbally abused me for about 45 minutes while on the stairclimber. He should not be running any business and let me go further by telling you that once I left and joined a new gym, the manager of Crunch approached me one evening while having dinner with my family. She had no regards at all but to come right up to our table and make as ass for herself. Absolutely ridiculous. So beware of this gym. I tried reaching out to the corporate offices of Crunch and was explained that they are all independently owned and operated so really when you sign up, you are signing up for that gym and that management. Owner is an awful person. Clearly has anger issues and yells at customers for literally nothing. I voluntarily went to cancel my membership and he started screaming at me out the door that I was banned ‍luckily there are a million gyms within walking distance. I'll never give this crook another cent of my money. My family and friends have all canceled their membership. Look at how much money you lose because you want to scream at people for no reason. EAger to take your money but make it impossible to cancel membership. Any employee can sign you up but only a manager can cancel membership. Of course there is never one available to assist you with this. As expected crunch fitness is useless in helping customers. They have random times when mangers are available. And refuse to cancel memberships unless you physically come in or send a notarized certified letter from each family member sent individually. WORST fitness program I have ever dealt with. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. We have met the 12 month mandatory time and still are being treated like crap just so they can keep money coming in. read more
