Squires Corner Kitchen - Family garlic bread

WOW! What a gem of a place!! I love to support mom and pop small restaurants and was blown away by…read morethe food, service and value. The menu is a unique mixture of American, soul and ethnic options. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Garlic wrap and pasta salad. Hubs ordered a Club sandwich with potato salad. Everything was SO DELICIOUS! Highlights were the sumac seasoning on my wrap, the HOMEMADE bread on the Club and the whipped texture mixed with the potatoes in the potato salad. The gentleman who runs the restaurant was kind and attentive and I swear I could taste the love in the food he prepared. We were staying a couple of miles away at a hotel for a road trip pit stop and needed dinner. Dinner exceeded my expectations and I KNEW I had to leave a review to encourage others to visit. But wait, there's more!!! 6 months ago I was at a hotel in New Orleans for 5 nights trying to order their "famous" bread pudding for a late night treat. It was Out of stock my whole stay and I left a bit bummed. So when I saw bread pudding as an optional dessert I ordered some to-go. BEST. BREAD PUDDING. EVER. It came with real, homemade whipped cream. I put the whipped cream in the mini fridge at the hotel and pudding on the counter for an hour or two to allow time to digest dinner. When I finally dug into the dessert I was in HEAVEN! The bread pudding still had some warmth. I tried a bite on its own and was delighted by the combination of big bread chunks with lovely syrup, touches of cinnamon spice and CRUNCHY SUGAR pieces. Then I tried a bite of the VERY full container of whipped cream. It was light and fluffy, very creamy and partially frozen and has a fluffy frozen custard vibe. The combination of the two was a flavor climax that I can't even properly describe. Don't miss out on the bread pudding!! The restaurant wasn't busy at 7/8 pm on a Thursday night. It's tucked away in a neighborhood shopping strip. Don't let the inconspicuous look fool you into believing that my review is in error. Also, it seems small but has a roomy dining room with a bar in the adjoining space. If you try the food I can guarantee you will taste the love and quality that is a rare find these days.

We finally found one now we're from Arizona and Caldwell's was our favorite restaurant specially for the brisket. Well, the blue door smokehouse in Lexington Kentucky is right up there with Caldwell's in Arizona. It's delicious blue doors brisket will knock your socks off. You can get it either lean or you can have a fatty their side dishes are delicious along with their pulled pork and pulled chicken. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you haven't gone here they have a special or you get all five meats for $27 and then you can get your side to go along with it. It's more than enough for 2 to 3 people to eat and it's delicious. We finally found a barbecue. So these people, some love because they deserve it. The service is excellent very quick very hospitable. Everything was wonderful. You can eat inside or outside all the barbecue sauces are on the table so you can use as much or as little as you want but honestly, this meat does not need barbecue sauce. That is a side of a really good barbecue place is not to have the sauce your meat so go

Two choices for coleslaw, either vinegar based or creamy based. Pickles on the side with a sweet seasoning blend was a nice touch (I love pickles!) Pulled pork was excellent, tender, juicy and flavorful on its own. Unfortunately I found the brisket to be dry. My friend ordered the ribs and said they were excellent. Three bbq sauce choices, sweet, spicy or tangy. They all were kind of similar to me, although the sweet was sweet and the tangy was tangy; the spicy tasted like a combo of the other two. We went around 3pm on a Saturday and the wait was not long. Counter ordering & they bring food to your table. Nice outdoor seating with umbrella coverage. We had a group of 8 and were seated comfortably outside. Also bonus there's an ice cream shop next door. Generous portion sizes, great for a group, overall a nice experience & atmosphere, but not one to glow about.

When you walk in you see antiques from the store next door including art work, chandeliers, plates, tea cups and more. There is plenty of seating inside and tables outside as well. The gentleman that took our order was so friendly, had a sense of humor &was helpful not only to us but the people behind us as well. (He was also very charismatic). We didn't wait long to order or to receive our food. There is no table service so they'll ask for your name and call it out when it's ready. I ordered the healthy spinach salad with chicken and a side of fresh fruit &my friend ordered the italian Zuppa toscana. (She said it was good but a little spicy for her ). The ingredients are fresh and clean, portions are exactly as they should be. My spinach salad had pumpkin seed, strawberries, mandarin oeanges, pear, spinach mix, feta cheese (I think) and came with a side of balsamic dressing which I didn't even use. I had water and my friend had a soft drink from the fountain machine. For the two of us including the fountain drink it was 24.00. My friend thought it was on the pricey side while I thought it was a reasonable price considering how fresh everything was.

Parking is the usual downtown situation, but easy enough to navigate. Lots of choices, and if you're offered a cookie, you really shouldn't say no! The snickerdoodle was delicious! $15 for a bunch of food from some very nice people is a hard deal to beat. I'll definitely have to get here more often!

This place is a must for anyone local if you haven't been, and if you're not local, it's seriously worth the trip! There are so many great things I can say about OBC, the service is phenomenal; professional, amazing recommendations, and they go out of their way to give you an unforgettable experience! Their bourbon selection is fantastic; they're guaranteed to have everything you'd want and even some things you haven't tried or been able to find anywhere else. The food is on another level! Starting with with bacon in the glass for the table is a must! This gives you a taste of the quality to come and the peanut butter accompaniment that comes with it works so well! The depth of flavor in the Cola-Braised Short Rib Tacos is unreal & even their rolls are amazing! The Ribeye is cooked to your exact liking; is a very high quality cut, and has a delicious seasoning which is the differentiator for me that makes this one of my favorite steaks I've had in a very long time! I could go on & on, but you need to experience it for yourself!

In case you think I am forgetting the food quotient - the cheeseburger crunch wrap is quite possibly my favorite food item in Lexington.
