I am absolutely torn on this review. I have my sandwich I thought was very good. My wife did not care for hers at all. We both liked the french fries. Customer service was very good as they were friendly and helping us make up our mind on which sandwich to get. However as we approached we didn't know if it was open or not because the grass and weeds around the sign was so overgrown you could hardly see the sign. Walked inside the restaurant and noticed it was very clean. We were immediately greeted by Christian, who also took our order. My sister is from out of town and doesn't have a Penn Station near here. She had a chicken teriyaki sandwich and I had a grilled Dagwood sandwich; and we both shared a medium fries. I told her that this will be the best lemonade that she had ever had; and she loved it so much, she got a 1/2 gallon lemonade to go. Christian went above and beyond what others normally do. I mentioned that I had an egg allergy and was allergic to mayo; and he took great care of my sandwich and I didn't have an allergic reaction. She mentioned to Christian that she wanted to refill her regular lemonade cup with some of the 1/2 gallon of lemonade; but she realized that she accidentally threw it away. Christian said, no problem and ended up just getting her a new cup with lemonade and ice. We will definitely be back to this location!! If you can, have Christian make your food! read more

The food is consistent. Their sandwiches are pretty good for a fast food chain. The service is usually ok! Nothing great but nothing bad either. There is no ambience. Could use a little personality from employees and shop. My fav is the Italian but only when they give me extra oil and vinegar. I haven't been to Penn Station in some time, but took advantage of The Who Dey Special on Tuesdays after a Bengal victory. Both subs were really good (cheese steak and Italian). However I wasn't impressed with the fries at all. Too many small pieces like the scraps at the bottom of the barrel! Would prefer Bigger fresh cut fries, not Scraps!! In the sea of sandwich restaurants Penn Station is one of my favorites!I like it because you can get a 4 inch sub - that is all I usually want and I'm not really looking for leftovers in a place like this. I am a big fan of the artichoke on white. The bread is warm and chewy and the artichokes and mushrooms and grilled and yummy. The hand cut cooked to order fries are always tasty and they have malt vinegar, a touch that I love. This location has been recently remodeled a looks nice. Staff is friendly and efficient. Parking can be a pill during lunch hour, but you can usually find a spot. I am a fan of the lemonade, it is a bit of an upcharge from a soda, but worth it! read more

Not the typical Penn Station experience I'm used to. Engagement from employees was very low. Ordered small fries as normal but the amount was much smaller. Would have like to see some sort of hair net worn while cooking. So I am a really pro-streamlined individual. I usually like to place an order and have my order made on pick up and leave. Thing is, I am so old school that I like to place my order when I get there and for it to be made and given to me onsite. Online ordering to me is like "too much of a hassle". I can speak and order verbally faster than I can touch things on a screen and place an order (if every fast food restaurant ended up going order online, I would be in trouble). Today, I have to state that it was my first time using an online option of ordering to take advantage of a code and then picking my subs up. Thing is, when I got there, I was expecting it to be ready at 2:07 p.m. What ended up happening was that my two subs were not ready until 2:16 p.m. Okay, fine, so give a grace period of about 15 minutes. But then I noticed that there was just a lot of drama behind the counter, people yelling and screaming and having fun etc. It almost seemed like there was no focus on the customer(s) in getting their orders to them and out the door. I think with more focus and more maturity, my order would have been done by 2:07 p.m. and that only comes with high quality people. High quality people only come to jobs with good rates of pay. It's tough that the food service industry does not hire at very high wages; however, I think, at best, is to find people who are really into their work and put less drama and have less animated fun, while doing a job. It's okay to socialize, but like still actually work and progress to get the tasks done and orders out. Where are the managers and where is the oversight by the owner? I know whenever I work a job, even my own, it is basically a full focus for 2 hours and then goofing off on my 10 minute and 30 minute breaks. That is how it should be. read more

This is our FAVORITE sandwich place when we don't know what else to eat for dinner. This particular time they cut my sandwich really odd. It didn't affect the taste by any means. The staff is pretty friendly and it's always clean inside the dining area. My favorite sandwich is the artichoke with mushrooms and banana peppers and Austin's is the Italian. We always split a large fresh cut. I LOVE that they have malt vinegar, it reminds me of the Jersey shore fries I used to get growing up. read more

Stopped by the day to visit an old friend/restaurant. This has always been one my favorite cheese steak places. I have eaten cheesesteaks from the original inventors of them in Philadelphia and I still prefer Penn station's take on the classic cheesesteak. Today was a little extra special as I brought my sons here for the first time to let them try a cheesesteak. Let's just say that all three of us give it a hearty thumbs up. Being from Rhode Island I am very familiar with subs; especially Italian subs. Never heard of Penn Station but I'm so happy for my new discovery. The manager was extremely helpful, providing his recommendations and advising what they are known for. The restaurant was very clean, employees had on masks and were very cheerful and polite. I had the grilled Italian with their fresh cut fries and freshly squeezed lemonade. Bread was the best I've ever had and you can tell they use the best meats. I am only giving two stars because it was clean and the service was decent. However, the food was not good. It was served open face with the bread broken the pieces of bread didn't even match each other. The bread was over toasted and when you bite into it because the bread is broken all the meat and cheese falls out on the tray. Also I got a medium fry and hardly received any fries and most of the fries were a little bitty pieces. I paid over $20 for a sandwich and fries and I expected a lot more. You'd be better off going to Jersey Mike's and getting their big kahuna sandwich. I will never go to Penn station again. read more

Traveling north on I-75 looking for a lunch stop. Saw the good reviews on Yelp for the new Penn Station East Coast Subs Restaurant with one dollar sign and decided to try it out. No matter what size fry you order they give you the same size, restaurant is always dirty with the trash over flowing. Workers seem like they could care less about you or your order of food! I've literally never had a good experience at this location. I worked at a different location for years and this location does not represent the company as a whole well at all. I'm all for giving second and third chances, but unfortunately today was my last straw. The staff made my sandwich incorrectly that I got to go. They gave me no option to resolve the issue except for driving back and they would just remake me a new one. No sorry or greeting at the door or anything I was taught to do when I worked here. The entire staff was in the back and I just grabbed my sandwich and left. Extremely poor customer service. Sad to see a company I love be represented this way. read more

First off I'm a sandwich guy at heart! I'd take a good sub/sandwich over just about any meal you could offer lol! Anyways, this location is literally 3 doors down from my job so instead of having to go out for lunch I ordered from here. I got the Philly Cheese Steak without the peppers and onion... horrible of me I know!! When I picked it up I was shocked at just how much this tiny little sub cost! But I sucked it up and headed back to work. I get back to my desk and begin to dig in! The first thing I notice is it was like someone had taken a salt shaker and seriously dumped the whole thing on my sandwich. There was so much salt it seriously almost puckered my face up... I hadn't touched the fries so I couldn't blame them so it had to be the sandwich. I made myself take another bit to see if it was just that spot or something but to my surprise it got worse instead of better... I was going to call and ask if it was a mistake or if they meant for it to have a ton of salt. I will say this tho, I don't understand salt when I cook for myself so I admit when even a small amount is used on my food I can point it out immediately so it may not have been as bad for most people as it was for me so that's the reason I gave 3 stars instead of less.. The staff has always been courteous here and your food is cooked to order so depending on the time of day there may be a short wait for your food. They have buy one 6 inch get a 6 inch one night of the week as well if you're looking for a value. They also support the local community with donations from sold items from time to time. read more

I've been to this location a few times. This is the second time in a row I've had an issue. The first time a girl did not want to take our order, rushed through it, and got the whole thing wrong pretty much. Now I'm in here today. 10 minutes after open, and they don't have bread ready. Here's my issue, a guy came up to take my order. What I assume is the manager tells him he's going to have to wait, then the kid walks away. Still standing there no one told me why I had to wait (while employees looked at me then away). I asked (who I assume is the manager or guy in charge) why do I have to wait. He said the breads not ready, I asked how long. He said when the temp goes from 430-475. I repeated my question, how long, his response, I don't know 10, 15, 20 minutes. So you guys will be open 20 minutes to a half hour unable to serve customers on top of being unprofessional. read more

Penn Station is always good no matter where you are. The gentlemen working tonight looked miserable, but my sandwich was perfect. Neither were too enthusiastic about taking my order.
