Very nice place to have lunch. Good service and good food. One of the things I like the most is that they let you order 1/2 of a sandwich and 1/2 of a salad, which is plenty of food. My chicken sandwich with brie, apples and bacon paired nicely with the south western salad. It was delicious and it didn't break the bank. The chicken salad is also tasty. They aren't closed, they just moved across the street and offer dinner now too. The design/architecture and service were excellent! Server recommended one of the most delicious wines after I described what I was looking for. The food still needs a little work...we had a great cauliflower and arugula salad, but our Portobello Wellington had raw dough, mushy and thick risotto, and undercooked brussel sprouts. The homemade paparedelle was thick and clumped together instead of smooth and silky ribbons, but the oxtail sauce it came in was really tasty. The apple crisp was perfect! Crush is sublime. First, please consider where you are--midway between Denver and Dallas, on the High Plains, in the middle of nowhere. You can take a seat in the bar and get cocktails and service better than anything within at least 500 miles. You find yourself in cow town, but trust me, many of the locals are wealthy. Many of them come here for a nosh. If you are a wine snob, and I admit that I am kinda, you will find at least something to satisfy. If you are a foodie, and I admit that I am kinda, you will find enough on the menu to keep you entertained. Crush is my go to for a romantic encounter and also for cocktails after the symphony. For a place on top of the Caprock, with the coyotes and prairie chickens, if you want to beat this place, you are going to have to buy a membership. read more

I was in town for business and this place was a welcome respite from the dry august heat. For the most part the food was top notch. Coffee was good and cream cold and fresh. I was here for lunch and opted for the brisket sandwich. It was excellent. The meat was high quality and not too fatty, flavorful, and the slaw and rye bread complimented it well. The chips were a bit on the chewy side but still homemade. The salad was my only gripe. The lettuce wasn't great quality-iceberg. It's a nice open space and the waitstaff were friendly. Also an excellent selection of beer and wine for the space- I had a great cold white IPA from deschutes. A few constructive critiques- get rid of the flies, add more plugs, upgrade your barstools and you're golden. read more

We stopped through Amarillo on our way home to Colorado and stayed at the Courtyard Marriott downtown. We knew nothing of the city and after hours in the car we were looking to sit down and have a good meal. My wife observed a group of people coming out of Crush seemingly very happy and hugging each other so she was immediately interested. We came in with our two teenage boys and we're not sure if this was going to be a good fit for the whole family. We were then greeted by Brittany, our server, she was immediately disarming, so very friendly and knowledgeable! The food was truly, surprisingly, very good! We had the fried chicken/potatoes/creamed spinach, Gouda/onion marmalade/bacon cheeseburger and the ahi tuna burger. All were exceptional! This truly is a great find! I have been here twice now. First time went to lunch with my girlfriend. She had the Jalapeño Turkey sandwich and I had the Cajun Chicken Salad wrap both with truffle fries. We each had half of the other's sandwiches and let me tell you they are freaking AMAZING!!! They were wonderful with tons of flavor. The second time I went for brunch, I had the Chocolate Expresso pancakes with blueberry sausage. They tasted great but my food was cold. Kind of a bummer, oh the syrup was fantastic!!!! I loved it!!! This is a great place with a great upstairs patio. The shrimp sliders are amazing as are the cheese curds and flatbread pizzas. I can't say enough positive things and the only reason it get 4 stars and not 5 was the poor suggestion of the waiter to try the vegetarian shepherds pie. It was all spaghetti squash like and no flavor. If you have to rely on a side sauce to make it edible that's not a good sign. read more

Crush is great. Whenever I decide to eat lunch out I end up sitting at the bar at Crush. The only negative is they recently either lost or fired a significant amount of their waitstaff. As someone who regularly eats there, I was a bit unsettled by not seeing any familiar faces. The old waitstaff was wonderful and I wish they would have them back. read more

My family and I were staying at the Marriott across the street from Crush. It had been referred to us as a great place to check out for some food. We decided to give it a shot for lunch and were not disappointed one bit! I got the Chicken Brie sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. My mom and sister enjoyed their dip sandwiches just as much. My favorite part is that it is a wine bar! Being from Vegas, we don't have places like this and I'm a big wine drinker. I definitely enjoyed their relaxed atmosphere to sit there and have my glass of wine with my sandwich. If I could have, I would've stuck around longer to have another glass. I have never felt less welcome than just now at Crush. We walked in to have wine and a rather disinterested hostess at the front advised that the bars were open seating and upstairs was less crowded. We went upstairs and there were no seats. Came back down, no acknowledgement from the hostess, and sat down at the bar. Despite having 3 bartenders and two waitresses, no one spoke to us or offered a menu. We sat there SEVERAL minutes, watched two bartenders make sure one lady had her glass of white wine, and watched another make sure their receipts were lined up. Now, we were dressed in business attire and look respectable, so I cannot fathom why they did not want our business. This was the most exquisite culinary experience I have had in my many travels through amarillo. Everything from the appetizer to dessert was complete and balanced. The pairings, whether it be wine or cocktails (which I indulged in both) were spot on and in tune with each dish. The dining room was full so I had to eat at the bar, Jordan and Paige were my bartenders and their knowledge unending. A nice bistro-type restaurant in Amarillo. So far, they have had the best beer and wine selection I have seen in Amarillo. I was able to get a German beer, a Belgian, and a good Texas Tempranillo. I started with the duck confit egg rolls which were OK. A little too much on the veggie side and not enough duck. My main was a flank steak with frites. Pretty good. Overall I expect that this restaurant represents one of the finer eating establishments in town. I give this eatery my stamp of approval. read more
