It's a fun experience just to go in! The things are beautifully curated. I'm uplifted by shopping here. The owners are very cool people who care about community. I loved the booklet on local murals they had made by great local writer and artist. My daughter loves it too. [Parking]: There are plenty of metered parking spots and paid public parking lots, but parking can be hard to come by during busy shopping seasons. [Selection]: The shop offers various art supplies (e.g. drawing books), greeting cards, stickers, hair clips, pens, markers, Rolife DIY Miniature House, etc. This shop has slightly more selection on Valentine's Day cards. The shop was not as colorful as the next door stationery shop Shorthand. [Conclusion]: I didn't buy anything during my visit as I didn't see any specific items that matched what I was looking for, but I can see myself coming back here from time to time if I need to look for interesting greeting cards. read more

Magical one of a kind little local art spot on York Blvd. I stumbled upon Crush & Touch by chance on my way to my nephews 16th birthday. Before heading over, I needed cash because cash is always best with teens. The atm machine was walking distance from the shop and I ended up picking his birthday card inside which saved me the trouble of stopping by another shop on the way to get a card. I loved everything inside, wished I could have browsed longer. But as I was in a rush, I loved the originality of the owners graphic designs. I kept getting pulled in and stayed longer than I wanted. I LOVE THIS STORE!! They have such unique, cute items! Everything from stickers, journals, hair accessories, jewelry, and so so many art supplies. They even have a sticker mystery bundle that was definitely worth it for $10. The pricing is fair for how unique the item is and its quality. They also include a free sticker with every purchase. I feel bad about that :( Hairclips came in different designs like lemon, eggplant, leek, chili pepper, dachsund, australian shepherd, poodle and many more. I saw this shop on social media and had to check it out right away. It did not disappoint! There was a wide variety of goodies to choose from - stickers, socks, jewelry, paint, markers, trinkets and more! They also do fun $10 mystery bags of stickers which is a fun addition to a shop. Just like anywhere in Highland Park, parking can be a little tricky but there's street parking all along their shop so most of the time you can get real lucky. Because I had stopped to get some tea in the area, I wanted to see what was down this street. I stopped at this store because I saw a cute little kitty keychain. And then I noticed how there was a lot of cute small items for sale. The lady was friendly and she said if I wanted anything, all I had to do was point at the display areas and she would get it for me. I noticed they also sold plants and asked her about one of them. It was out of my price range, but she very kindly answered any questions I had about it anyway. And she didn't pressure me to buy it. Coooooooool HLP stationery shop! Crush is tiny but mighty and packs a punch in the gift/card department for sure. It's located on a very happening area on York and I always make a point to stop in when I'm in the area these days. Their cards are more on the whimsy/colorful/fun side and their selection of giftable items (candles, shirts, prints, pins, plants, the like) always leaves me wanting to buy a little something for myself. The staff is really lovely as well and is happy to help you find what you need, make suggestions. etc. It appears that Crush designs/produces some of their own items in addition to bringing in cool brands. Prices are fair (cards are more than what you'd pay at the drugstore but less than what you'd pay at some other boutique-y LA shops). Parking in the area can be a hassle, but one you're here, the neighborhood is such a fun place to peruse on foot. read more

To sum it up in one sentence I really love what this store is about. Highland park has such cool boutiques and shops, this one is no exception. A lot of people consider this a stationary store, but I wouldn't necessarily call it that because it has more to offer. Compared to Silverlake stationary stores such as The Social Type this place had a lot more pins, jewelry, accessories, clothing and home decor. I am unsure if this place is owned or associated with Big Bud Press which is right next door, but if you shop at one of those stores I strongly suggest you check out the other, they compliment each other well! I love their array of unique pins, which are perfect to put on my jumpsuits. I am also a fan of their one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces such as their earrings. They are just so unique they stop me in my tracks. This store isn't cheap, but I saw a lot of cute giftable things as well as accessories I moreso want than need. Parking is fine, you just gotta go into the neighborhood, find a meeter, or get yourself a paid lot spot. Make a day of it, go shopping along the street and treat yourself to some lunch. Every experience I have at Crush is the best. They've made it so easy to shop safely during the craziness of the pandemic, I was truly impressed. The staff is always so helpful and nice, too. Honestly, finding a place where the staff goes out of their way to provide amazing customer service feels like a rarity - and Crush employees crush it (apologies, that was [p]unintentional). I have quite a bit of anxiety, so knowing I'm going to an amazing spot like this with helpful people working there is like *chefs kiss*. They also carry the coolest and most unique items from amazing artists and brands. Any time I need a gift, I know I can always come here and find something great at a totally reasonable price.
