Oh my, crust is beyond awesome. The scones are amazing. My husband loves the glazed donuts and apple pie. Today we ordered the pepperoni cheese bread and it was so good all toasted up. Do not go in if you are watching calories because everything is so irresistible its impossible to resist. An amazing spot for brunch/lunch! The sandwiches are spot-on, the bread is fantastic, as well as all of the little pastries and sweet treats they make like the doughnuts, cookies, cakes, cannolis, brownies, and pretty much any other baked good you could think of. I always get the lavender lemonade with anything I order, which I totally recommend to anyone planning on eating at Crust. Other than the food, the service is great, and the entire staff is friendly and welcoming to anyone who walks in the door. Their products are quality! I have tried their Tri county pepper bread. Loved it plain and when used with sandwiches. Tried the focaccia and the baguette at a local restaurant. They made excellent sandwiches. The pecan pie is a pecan lovers dream come true! The cinnamon rolls are equally as yummy. Thankfully we can pick up your bread at the Midland farmers market. If I was just rating Crust bakery it would be 5 stars. The only reason it's 4 is that I went to the new restaurant for the first time for breakfast. First, the breakfast menu is very limited. If you want baked goods for breakfast make sure you make a mental note of it as you pass by the bakery counter. Also, none of the tasty sandwiches from the front counter made it to the restaurant menu. Second, if you get an omelet be prepared to either eat a ton of cheese or skillfully remove gobs if it from your omelette. Third, no refills on coffee were offered here. It was served in a mug and no one came by to warm it up. The best part of my meal was the sour cream glazed cake donut I got in addition to my Sicilian omelet. It's definitely worth going here for baked goods or a quick pastry in he morning but we probably won't be back here to dine in for breakfast. read more

I come here as often as I can! There are so many great options that are reasonably priced. The service is also stellar. The hostess, Caitlin, allowed my friend and I to move to a secluded window seat. Charlotte was our server, and she was on top of everything! Another server, Jermaine, helped box up our food and clear our table even though we weren't his table. Talk about teamwork! Autumn from the kitchen helped me find the healthiest items on the menu (they don't just have bread and pastries). All in all, it was top-notch food served by an excellent staff. read more

Very disappointed after my first visit. The layout of the store is not at all conducive to even moderate volumes of customers - after making a purchase I had to side step my way out between people eating at the tables and others standing in line. Hope the ones eating didn't mind my rear end in their face as I shuffled past them. A couple of the staff members were loud and irritating. Probably won't go back... One word...actually two... Beignets (once a month on the last Sunday of the month until demand is gone and then they stop it and bring it again the next year). You must stand in line OUTSIDE and place your order by filling out a slip and putting it into a slot in the door. Then go inside and pay and wait for your name to be called. Eat them there while they are fresh out of the fryer. They get chewier once they have cooled down. Then get some Bumpy cake to go! These are my two favorite items at Crust. The banana cream pie was good too but they haven't made that in a while. read more

We live in Fenton, and it's a cute little town. We are sad to say that today was our last time going to your establishment. It's not that the product isn't good, it's that you're service is horrible. Seems to me ( I'm sure I'm not the only one!!!) that you are investing in great bakers, but you're FOH staff leaves a lot to be desired. All we want to do is come in and buy your product, not to be snubbed and talked down to. Also, you might want to come up with a better line system, cause your staff apparently doesn't know how it works. You're supposed to help the next person in line, not just pick a choose. As for your charging for using credit cards....... way to pass the cost onto the consumer. BAD Business!!!!!!!!! There's a proper way to engage with your guests, we pay your bills. Take care of the ones who take care of you. A lot of this rant goes out to the old lady who works the register, I believe her name starts with an S. Don't quote me on that. Also, we'll be banning the rest of this owners establishments. I.E crust, the laundry, and el topo. You're price point is way to high and pretentious, you must think you're in NY, Chicago or San Francisco. FYI, I'm a traveling corporate chef in San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. This was my first time going here, and I'll never go again because of how rude the workers were. I simply asked what cheesecakes they had, and she answered back snippy and short as if I should already know even though I've never been before. As I was leaving, two of the younger workers were also very rude. I was trying to open the door while pushing my double stroller, hanging onto my bag of things I bought, and also holding a coffee. The two younger workers just stared at me and didn't even offer to help. As I walked past them, the girl said, "I figured with kids, you're just used to it." Tough place to rate. Wide variance among the items I tried... PB&J donut...I was beyond excited to find these on a Monday morning, as I'd read they were only on weekends. Maybe they were leftovers haha, but I can live with that. They lived up to their hype. The PB literally tasted like my homemade PB fudge before it sets! And the filling was fantastic too. The donut itself was a little denser than I like, which leads me to my next item... Sour cream donut...HUGE disappointment. I was excited to try this one too, and it literally wasn't worth eating. SO dense, and so dry. Sad. Almond croissant...above average, but I'm not sure I'd get it again...my DP loved it tho Ginger molasses cookie...ok, so I would NEVER choose this flavor, but so many people had raved about it, I had to try it...it was very good for that flavor, but again, I wouldn't choose it Sourdough bread...I can never find true sourdough, and this was pretty close, tho still not as strong as I like it...I loved that I could get a half loaf (decent size) for under $3 These five items plus a cafe latte were about $15. The only thing I can say is GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!!! It is wonderful to watch them bake and everything I've tried is fantastic. I am really hooked on the Kronuts! If you have tried the cross between an croissant and a donut, then you really must try. My only complaint is that I would love to try the Beignets but they only make them Sunday morning between 8 & 10 and I just can't drag the rear out of bed.
