Delicious sourdough bakery! We had the almond croissant and enjoyed the slightly tangy sourdough flavor, balanced by the buttery layers of dough and perfect almond filling. I appreciated that their coffee was delicious but also only $1.50 a cup! The staff was very friendly and we discussed the benefits of sourdough and high quality flour. Cute shop. Off the beaten path. Well I am new to PT and was surprised to find a cozy Bakery. They are all so nice and polite the employees and the customers. I wanted to get one of everything. I did get a lemon pastry. And also a raspberry pastry as well with a cup of coffee. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is absolutely delicious and fresh. Also, very welcoming to everyone. A friend brought me an apple cinnamon roll from Crusty Crumb and I warmed it with a pat of butter in the microwave for 10 seconds. It was delicious and made me want to go back a couple weeks later to get another one. Totally different experience. I took the apple cinnamon roll home, put a pat of butter on it and microwaved it for 10 seconds. The roll was hard, so hard I could not cut it with a fork even or chew it. A couple days later the owner or management of Crusty Crumb posted about poor reviews they were getting and said this: 'We've seen a few reviews lately that let us know we didn't hit the mark for everyone. While we know we can't please every single person, we care deeply about what we bake, how we serve, and how you feel when you visit'. They followed up with this: 'If something was off during your visit, we're truly sorry. We're human, and we may not realize something's wrong unless you tell us. We welcome all kinds of feedback, from the food to the atmosphere, and we'd love the chance to make things right' So, since my experience was so recent I mentioned the hard apple cinnamon roll. I was told that bread should never be put in the microwave - making me the reason their cinnamon roll was too hard to eat. I stand by my comment that 10 seconds in a microwave did not ruin that roll. The butter didn't even melt. Crusty Crumb asked for feedback. When I shared my experience, they were looking for accolades, not an unhappy customer and even though the said 'they'd like to make it right', they didn't mean it. I was not offered a refund for the $6 cinnamon roll nor invited to return to the bakery to get another cinnamon roll on the house hoping for a better experience. They asked for feedback but didn't really want feedback. Disingenuous at best read more

Regular customer here. Buy their white sliced bread weekly. First found them at the PT Farmer's Market. Their snickerdoodle cookies are so good! Everything I have tried has been delicious. The only bad thing about this place is that it's not closer to my house. Lovely customer service, and the most delicious pastries and breads I've had in a long time. We got a loaf of plain white sourdough, sourdough snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, and plain and chocolate croissants. Every single bite was better than the last. We are regular visitors to PT, but it was our first time in this place. How can we ever possibly have missed it?? We went in for a couple of bagels and left with a full bag of goodies. Plus two bavarian cream puffs that were to die for. Everything was fresh and delicious. I stopped here for breakfast for the first time ever and was pleasantly surprised. The outside doesn't look like much and the inside commercial space is pretty small but stocked with local treats. The woman who helped me was very friendly, welcoming me to town and making suggestions on what I should order. I tried a lemon danish, a savory tomato focaccia flat bread, and a small ham and cheese pastry. Everything that I had was made from a sourdough starter. The focaccia was excellent, very colorful and flavorful! The danish and the ham and cheese were honestly a bit too chewy for me. They also had croissants, cardamom buns, and pistachio rolls, all of which looked amazing! I look forward to coming back and trying those! read more

I'm so happy that this bakery opened in Port Townsend. Living between Sequim and Whidbey Island, I make it a regular stop on each trip. I am addicted to Tom's (owner) Cardamon Buns. They are so light, so soft with just the right amount of Cardamon and sweetness. They freeze perfectly so I typically load up with a dozen as often as I can. Order ahead, they can move fast! We had a cinnamon roll craving and decided to give this place a try and ended up walking out with one of everything. Hard not to when the place smells as amazing as that. The guy who was working there (owner?) was so friendly and fun and clearly passionate about what he does. Top notch ingredients, everything made from scratch, careful attention to the balance of flavors in each dish... can not say enough good things about it. We tried the blueberry cinnamon roll, cardamom sourdough popover, sourdough snickerdoodle, Bavarian cream puff with homemade marscapone and every bagel flavor he had. Everything was absolutely amazing. He had some things for lunch too that we will absolutely be back to try sometime based on the quality of the things we had for breakfast. If there was indoor seating we probably would have eaten everything he had. If you are familiar with the area this place is head and shoulders above Sluy's in Poulsbo. read more
