Crydermans is the best barbecue in Central Florida. That is a stone cold fact. I know there's pretty big competition around, but I firmly believe that that competitor has officially gotten too big for its britches and the quality has suffered. I'm not saying that it's not still delicious. I'm saying that Crydermans is better. I've been enjoying Crydermans in Cocoa Village for a while now, and they recently opened up a 2nd location in Melbourne. So, the 4th of July came around and I was off work so I had to come check it out. So I take the doors off the Bronco and cruise down the A1A. I decide to split a big platter. Brisket, pulled pork, turkey. With potato salad and barbecue beans. And I get an extra side of their special that day, the Texas Trinity Mac 'n' Cheese; basically mac 'n' cheese with brisket and pulled pork and bacon mixed in with it. I actually got their very last serving of the day. So lucky! Let's dissect both aspects of the meal. First, the meat. Brisket, banging, juicy, fatty, wow. Not dry at all. And the dude gave me a little bit more than the .25 pounds he was supposed to. Score. The pulled pork was not juicy, but it was not dry. It was what I like to call, accepting of sauce. And boy, does Crydermans have good sauces. My favorite being the Carolina based one. Delish. But the truly special meat of the meal was the turkey. I usually stay away from smoked poultry, because of its tendency to be dry. But man, Crydermans is so moist. It doesn't even need sauce. So good. So smokey. I am a big fan. The sides of a BBQ meal definitely have a lower floor than the meats, so these things can really differentiate one restaurant from another. Crydermans, A+. Potato salad was so good! So much thyme. So thinly sliced, so each potato was cooked through, so it was soft. And juuust creamy enough from the base. And the beans, oh the beans. So saucy. And big hunks of ham in there for you to find. Very smokey. Very good. Best BBQ beans I think I've ever had. Maybe one place in Mississippi them beat, but further study is needed. Don't get me started on the Trinity Mac. You know how that was. Heaven. I will say that the mac noodles are mostly casserole-style gooey. Not a lot of bite to these noodles, which I love, but you might not, so just saying. I've been rambling on too much, so I'll end this now, but just know, if you're lucky enough to live near a Crydermans, you HAVE to go. Even if you're not, I drove an hour and a half to get here. And you should, too.

Yes, yes, and yes!! Just go! This place is amazing. It used to a donut shop and so glad to learn this new place took over (Not to say the donuts prior to were not amazing)! Hunger creeped up on me and I wanted something quick and fast and bbq just seemed to call my name. I tried a little bit of everything and honestly it was all delicious. From the dill potato salad to the mac n cheese to the port and turkey. Bonus for the Hawaiian ice tea fusion! I've been thinking of it ever since. Just delicious. All of it. They have another location in downtown Cocoa. Oh and if local, don't forget to sign up for their loyalty rewards for freebies!

I got the brisket sandwich and three sides; potato salad, beans, and coleslaw. The brisket was a little dry, but it was near the end of the day. I liked the sandwich and loved all three sides. I got some sweet barbecue sauce and some hot barbecue sauce, both were good. I'm still not used to how much everything costs these days, the total was a bit pricey.

So my husband and I absolutely know great BBQ. We are originally from Texas, but currently on vacation from Maryland. Maryland BBQ is not on any level of epic flavors. Since we got to Florida, my husband has been itchy to try the BBQ here. So base on goggle and yelp he luces Crydermans!!!! We are so glad we stopped him. The brisket so amazing, we just couldn't get enough of it. Potato salad had the refreshing dill taste. The baked bean had that flavorful baked and spice to them . The Man N Cheese melted like butter with with any other side you added to eat with. The customer service was so amazing. All the staff was so sweet and informative. Very patient and greeted everyone as they walked in and serving. I would definitely say the BBQ reminded us of being back home in Texas!!! Very much alike but a uniqueness!! Definitely my husband and I would go back again!

The most amazing barbecue I've ever had, the staff was so nice and bantered with me and my dad while we placed our order, i tried every type of hot sauce in the dispensers outside and they were delicious. Outdoor seating to enjoy florida weather. We also got the mac and cheese, it was amazing

The magic happens here.

I love this place......I love it, love it, love.........IT. Something about eating a brisket sandwich that you watched the brisket get sliced and put on your bun and then two minutes later you are digging in......no drying out under a heat lamp or in a steam table. I recommend trying the mac and cheese that is special that day....they have good mac and cheese but the special of the day is always great. Get a soda and sit at the big picnic tables.....get to know someone new if the opportunity avails itself. Parking can be a challenge so be patient and look across the street. I can not tell you much more..........try it you will be a regular but get there early.... it is open until its gone. But shhhhhhh we don't want to give away our secret.

I'm wanted to post an honest review. I have been waiting to try Crydermans for a long time. I finally had the chance to bring my 2 friends from Texas. I did not let their opinions bias me but none of us were impressed with the food. The pulled pork had the most flavor but did have a lot of fat. Rib was forgettable. Beef sausage was DRY -extremely dry. Service was awesome. The girls inside were very helpful and sweet. I would give it a second chance and see if it was just a bad day. Price was high however IMO to get middle of the road, food.

Stopped by today for a Two Step and Hawaiian iced tea. This sandwich is an excellent suggestion from the Crydermans staff. The sausage was flavorful and the beef tender and tasty. The toppings were so good I didnt even bother with sauce. If your going to take on this sandwich be ready and be hungry. This will fill you up. As always the Hawaiian Ice Tea is the best I have ever tasted.

Stopped here after fishing in the area. They have nice large picnic tables for outdoor seating. The ordering is counter style and they sell until they run out of food. I had a brisket sandwich and it was good, but the bread was a bit lacking - they use potato rolls but they're not fluffy and the texture ruined the experience. There was also something going on with their drink machine so I only got carbonation when I filled up my soda.

All ambiance nothing more nothing less, the flavor is there but the meat disgusted me! People can get sick off the temperature of the meat you serve. DONT DO IT *MF DOOM VOICE* Y U C K HHF? maybe, they took our order, and checked on us. We didn't feel outta place, but then again it wasn't packed.... HOLLA

Brisket tacos and potato salad
Christopher F.

I had never been to this joint. We stopped in for a late lunch. The brisket tacos were amazing. The brisket was tender and flavorful. I also got a side of potato salad that was lightly dressed and delicious. Not overpowering with too much mayonnaise like dressing. I sampled two sauces and both were good. The staff is following safety precautions and most guests were wearing masks when moving about the space. Great stuff. Excited to return and try more.

We've been having family drive big takeout orders down here from this location whenever they visit and it is just as good as I remember. The ribs are fall off the bone tender, and the barbecue sauce is the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and smoky. The cornbread is soft and sweet, the toast is buttery and thick, the coleslaw is chopped small and not too wet or too celery heavy. And the BEANS. I love these baked beans. They have pieces of pork in them and are perfect. I could eat an order of just beans and be happy. I've also recently discovered their sausages, which pair so well with the spicy barbecue. Their coconut cream pie and chocolate pie are delightful too. I've never eaten in here so I can't speak to the actual restaurant experience. That being said, the staff do go out of their way to pack the orders in the catering trays when they hear we're taking it long distance. We have sometimes had issues with pieces of the order getting left out, but they've always been very good about making it up to us. I have no good pictures of the food because I inhale it the second it arrives. Trust my one rib photo and twenty years of loyalty to the Woody's name and give them a try!

These days.....I'm most impressed by mom and pop places that can DELIVER VALUE and QUALITY. It's getting harder to make those eating out decisions. Support the local places that are grinding day in and day out to earn your dollar. Woody's has an ENORMOUS menu with just about anything (baby back ribs and half chicken and sweet potatoes are STANDOUTS) and the prices are EXTREMELY fair for this economy. Clean and cozy restaurant, not loud, clean bathrooms, too. No need to look ANYWHERE else for BBQ.

We visited Charlie & Jake's on Father's Day and first impressions were great. The place was spotless, had that rustic barbecue-joint vibe, and despite the holiday crowd, we were seated quickly and greeted right away by a friendly, professional server. Service was pleasant, but our drinks seemed to be playing hide-and-seek. We had to ask for refills every single time we wanted one. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered the smoked Old Fashioned, which arrived with enough dramatic presentation to make nearby tables stop and stare. Absolutely worth ordering. A small hiccup: when I unwrapped my utensils, the knife appeared to have some sort of residue on it. Since I didn't actually need the knife, I didn't ask for a replacement, but it was worth mentioning. Now let's talk about the star of the show: the smoked chicken. Holy smoke signals, Batman. This was hands-down the best smoked chicken I've ever eaten. Moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked. I would happily order it every week and never get tired of it. My sides were collard greens and a baked sweet potato, both served in adorable metal measuring cups. The sweet potato was good. The greens were fine, but could have used a little more seasoning and personality. My husband ordered one of the meat platters. He enjoyed it, but there wasn't anything that inspired a speech, tears, or vows of lifelong devotion. The toast, however, nearly drowned itself in butter. I wasn't aware bread could absorb that much liquid and still maintain structural integrity. It was literally dripping when he took a bite. Somewhere between toast and sponge. My hush puppies were unfortunately the low point of the meal. They tasted like someone mixed flour and water, formed little balls, and introduced them to a deep fryer. They desperately needed seasoning and I didn't finish them. The fried pickle appetizer was excellent and the portion was generous enough to feed a small pickle-loving village. When the server dropped off the check, we politely declined. We don't leave restaurants without dessert unless there's a natural disaster involved. My husband ordered the banana pudding, which came in a cute square glass container and was very enjoyable. My daughter ordered the peach cobbler. Calling it "peach" felt a little optimistic. There were approximately two peach slices in a mountain of cobbler topping. She loves crust, so she wasn't upset, but if you're expecting fruit, bring a magnifying glass. The filling itself could have used more flavor and some warm spices, and it was absolutely swimming in caramel sauce. A good vanilla bean ice cream would have elevated the whole thing. My son ordered the peanut butter chocolate pie and immediately entered a state of dessert enlightenment. Deep peanut butter flavor, rich chocolate, absolutely fantastic. Final takeaway: Order the smoked Old Fashioned. Order the smoked chicken. Order the peanut butter chocolate pie. Maybe don't order the hush puppies unless they've found a spice rack since Father's Day. Overall, a clean restaurant, friendly service, excellent atmosphere, and a few standout menu items that are worth coming back for.

Service was prompt and friendly, and the happy hour specials made it an even better value. I ordered the wing basket with 8 smoked wings and onion petals. The smoked wings themselves were outstanding, and the Hot Garlic sauce was especially memorable because it featured real garlic, which added incredible flavor. These are definitely wings I will come back for and highly recommend to anyone visiting. My partner ordered the BBQ pulled pork quesadillas with seasoned fries. Went for lunch on a Friday and they had two servers and only one working the dining area. We sat in the very dark dining area. Every surface was painted black. They both came with "fried chips" and the platter had another side and we chose beans. Bourbon Bbq sauce was our choice. The pork was good. Good portions on both sandwich and platter. Beans had some "heat" which I don't favor but my son really liked. The chip fries or fried chips - whichever they call them were seasoned with a garlic salt it tasted like. However they could have used about another minute I the fryer. The bigger ones were raw in the middle. May have been a byproduct of a large party in their event room throwing off their timing. But if cooked a bit more they would be a unique side for the area and good. Server was stretched thin. Freshens my son's drink but not mine until he brought the check. By then meal was over. I had water. Not difficult. Rib special looked good from a distance and I heard they are known for wings. Maybe next time. Noticed there is a private room for events that most restaurants do not have. So a point to consider.
